In this current Nigeria where people are shamed for not doing yahoo and hookup is where you are telling your friends you are a virgin? If you are an upright person, keep it to yourself because people will call you mumu. Nothing beats when couples deflower themselves tho. It's one of those reasons families stayed together in the past. But the world has changed. |

candygist: Someone that couldn't travel to UK for 7 years still came back to dominate people that have been entering UK for 7 years before he came on board. See overtaking. Honestly. The guy is whooping all of there asses and he's going to become far clear of the rest in few more years to come because he is really good. He has the content and I love him for that but you know Nigerians now, they are only happy when your success is as successful as theirs hence the jealous here and there. Burna really knows his onions. Few days ago he was talking about how afro artists don't tell stories, they only talk about good times. Story telling was what differentiated Fela during his time and I'm happy Burna and someone like Asake is embracing that. Remove Sex, Money, Girls, Party and Drinks and you'd see a lot of Nigerian musicians will have nothing to write about. |
Music/Radio › Re: African Artistes With The Most UK Singles Chart Entries by Karleb(m): 9:17pm On Sep 01, 2023 |
But you people said the album is a flop. My first hearing of this album, the lyrics didn't really sunk in but the production was very good. I heard Burna flew in one of his producers from Germany. I love that he is working with the best, I mean, not people that charge highest but people that actually know their onions. A lot of Nigerians probably didn't understand his music, what else can you expect from people who listen to Seyi Vibes all day or those claiming Seyi is better than Asake. I remember saying it here that Asake's MMWTV album was better than Chike's brothers keeper and that's the truth. Some people even said Chike's Boo of the booles is the best R & B album ever in Nigeria. Only teenagers will have this opinion because Chike can't lace Banky W's shoes. I love Davido and Wizkid but their FCs are really annoying. I can understand you like or dislike Ronaldo or Messi because they are of different nationalities and have played for rival clubs but why would you hate a Nigerian artist as a Nigerian? Makes no sense. It explains why Burna no rate Nigerians and specifically made that 'Thanks" track because he gets more love abroad than at home, he also gets more accolades abroad and those ones are not jealous. The guy might just win another Grammy. I would love to have a class with burna to explain how he comes up with his rhythms. To people saying he copied Fela, even Femi the son of Fela never had this musical success, the best he got was multiple Grammy nomination. Advice to Nigerians, stop listening to too much of junk music. |

Nazgul: This is the problem most have not prepared themselves for life in their 30s. And this Tinubu's era isn't helping matters at all.
I went through @Evolutionlove post and your original post I agree that most Nigerian males are low lifers. They have nothing upstairs. Aside sex, alcohol and the zeal for quick money without sweat, many are just empty.
I was discussing with someone and I told him that Nigeria is the only country on this planet where hookup is more expensive than minimum wage and the average salary of a university graduate.
In USA their minimum wage is about $4700. Imagine paying that kind of money to a girl for hook-up? But Nigerian men wouldn't mind paying the salary of a graduate to a girl for sex.
Most young people lack the ability to create and sustain wealth, this is why there's so much poverty and hunger in the land. I can see how you conveniently excused the government, the elderly breeding like cockroaches and put all the blames on young Nigerians. Well done sir! Keep it up! |

Segzy19: He is a good artiste, no doubt but then he is arrogant, proud and gets ahead of himself. It's not like he created or pioneered any genre of music like Fela, Sunny Ade, Obey, Ik Dairo, Osita Osadebe. He is just lucky to have come in this generation. For instance if Fela had come in this generation, who be 1 million Burna Boy? Why are you people bad belle? Did Micheal Jackson create a new genre? If Fela was alive, it still wouldn't stop Burna's shine. There was a time Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey were both getting the accolades. The sky is big enough for all birds to fly. |

If I start a relay race excellently and I pass the baton to another excellent athlete, we are both greats.
Calling Burna a great takes nothing from the greats of the past. Life has to move on.
These guys are just scared of Burna's success and growth. Baba has carved a niche of excellency for himself and it scares these people.

Klass99: Lol. You may not be wrong and neither are they, but in the mouths of two or three witnesses a thing is established.
Additionally, these are quality and well grounded people who don't and didn't have a reason to lie about their experiences. You don't know them but I do, and I'll understand if you are skeptical because you don't know them, I do.
@ Your last paragraph, so the thing with us Nigerians is a negative and distrustful mindset. Juliet's video had comments from lots of African migrants (non-Nigerians) who were validating her experience and sharing theirs too, from countries like Aussie and other places, but trust our people to react in the usual way they often do when japa matters come up.......with comments like;
1. If it is that bad enter plane and come back na. 2. This one is just very stupid and full of complaints. 3. Wicked people who have left and are now discouraging others from going.....etc You can't blame people who do that even tho it's not the nicest things to say. When UK people are leaving, they are so quiet and secretive but once they land or are coming back, they will tell you a million reasons not to go. Which is not even a problem to me, but some, if not many of them still secretly going back. There should be a balance of information. You can't tell me you work in care job and not tell me it was this same job that sponsor your visa. You can't say you work all week including weekend and not say you actually get paid more to do the extra hour or say you are actually making money. They will never disclose their salaries but tell you they live paycheck to paycheck. Boyfriend and girlfriend no dey UK but they won't tell you they rejected their fellow VISA bro and sis with the hope of getting hooked up to a citizen, which may or may never happen. There are many instances like these and it's always UK-Nigerians. |

Klass99: Or you can sound out people close to you through honest conversations for their candid and unbiased views which is also a cost effective option. People whose judgment you can trust.
What you are proposing is not a bad idea either but a person's pocket can take a brutal hit with long vacation stays. Attached are screenshots of my posts from 2021 when Smile4mee01 created a thread asking if people had any regrets about returning to Naija from the diaspora.
These are real people I know well and personally and these were honest conversations. Some without prompting or me prying, shared their thoughts during normal conversations. It wasn't a Q & A session with me firing questions at them. I would take anything from UK people with a pinch of salt. Those guys are the most dishonest and ever complaining bunch I have ever encountered. Infact, I will believe the word of an agbadodarian before I believe them. Visit visa is still a good bet as these people lie a lot. Another good way is to hear from non-Nigerian migrants. Anywhere one or more US citizen vets is good because they are on top of the food chain and can migrate almost anywhere in the world. |
