I can see head n shoulder formation on GU, even though GBP is having a field day currently. Anyone with me?

This morning, the market gave me with its right hand, and before I could spell 'pips', it took it back with the left, leaving just miserly pips on the table  

I think things are cooling down now. Radar on EUR; GBPAUD looking set for a sell.

Australia's CPI was higher than the consensus. Result was released sometime between 3am and 4am.

Higher CPI leads to greater interest rate hike expectations. Given than Australia has the highest interest rate of the currency majors, it is not hard to see why the AUDUSD and AUDJPY are going north, same as gold, the commodity of the AUD (Australia has the largest gold reserves and is the No. 1 exporter).

Always good to know the news behind the news.

Thanks stagger, I had to go figure out the +2% CPI differential. I usually don't bother much about news but just had to check who did this bonanza for me

If US defaults (unlikely), USD is not likely to be weak for more than a day. Remember USD gets stronger with risk aversion, irrespective of own distress.

I would be aggressively selling EURCHF right now, or buying CHF against any of the majors.

Keep any eye on the technicals too; it might be wiser to wait for a breather. Just my 50kobo.

All, one of the things I have learned in this game is that you cannot say your winning strategy is the only one. I have met traders who vow nobody can make money trading more than two pairs; some others say if you trade outside the New York opening, you are OYO; many others say long-rangers waste their time. All these are a matter of choice. If you have a strong opinion, you can press it firmly without stepping on toes.

Hello my good engineers,

My Sony Ericsson G900 is hanging, and frequently restarting. What do I do please? I have had the touch screen replaced sometime ago at Icell. Now, I think the LCD itself is causing the phone to be annoyingly acting up. I did a full backup before re-installing the firmware but, to my woe, I discovered that the supposed backup was not successful even when the phone said otherwise . The re-installation did not help matters. The screen will just go very dark and the next thing is restart. Then the booting process would take for ever!

I don't know if it is worth repairing again or should I just buy a new phone. Thanks.

A little forex education; Do away with indicators, price is all you need. never borrow funds to trade, it is a recipe for disaster. Avoid opening new positions everyday (scalping), it is a sign of immaturity in this game. trade long term. what we trade in general, are extentions and retracement and trying to guess work moves will kill your account. and lastly, avoid people who claim to make millions overnight, they will lure you to your doom.

You can make money trading forex without indicators (I trade with ZERO indicator), but you can't say that scalpers don't make money.

Me was just asking to know the overall market sentiment for EU,

Henry Liu is a news trader. If you are interested in trading news, then follow him. For me and my household, we don't do news. I don't need to know who is buying or selling any pair. I don't have to understand why a move is in progress; once my system says 'go', I go. I don't care how FED is breathing.

Finally, no system is superior to the other.

You better start paying more attention to your charts, than news. Placing a lot of emphasis on news exposes you to emotional lockdown, and recency bias. I paid dearly for this when I started. Please be guided.

No, 40 pips lost on both. I agree that the downward move appears almost imminent especially as current price is at 50% fib level of weekly chart. Not feeling confident, will wait until I can confirm it on the 1H chart at least.

It is well my sis. The consolation is that you know that you'll get it back - there is always another opportunity.

Stopped out on both EU & GU  . Staying on the sidelines for now. EU 4H closed above EMA, definitely staying on the sidelines until it makes up it's mind. Guys, trade with the charts and not your gut

Hope the stop outs were at breakeven? For EU, signs of impending downturn are there. You could brace up and go short again. It happened to me on EU yesterday. It is well.

EU being big-hearted; coming back to pick up those passengers that were left out 

Went back in; setup looking too compelling. Tight SL in place  If I get stopped out again, that'll be it!

We wont see any major reversal on GU and EU till
GU gets to 1.6075 region and EU gets to 1.4000 region.
So am still going to wait for a move up and sell again

1.6075 is not far from the current price - maybe 50pips. It may just get straight to that region without a good retracement. For me, na buy I go dey plan to buy henceforth.

Sometimes, it seems forex is a mystery. I mentioned here that EU was getting weak, forming a head and shoulder, which means an imminent downtrend. How I missed it, I don't know Struggling to come to terms with it! Can you believe this??

Anyway, GBPCHF and USDCHF seem set to make up for it - sold both last evening! As Blog icon mentioned, guys should be careful with further sells on EU and GU.
