monex:Just like kunle said, you MUST be trained before you take the exam. From your post, it is obvious you dont have the minimum criteria to apply for PMP exam. I advise you go for CAPM. You will get there. Cheers. |
Hmmm, German all the way? ![]() Does it mean that German cars are more durable and have better fuel economy than their Japanese counterparts? I love VW but I think Toyota has a better economy despite the turbo charged engines I believe comes with most VW's. Please tell me if I am wrong. |
I would love to have addresses, phone numbers, websites or some other specifics. He would prefer to do this in the east. Regards 2 all. |

you have seen all the posts. The recent recapitilisation is making the banking industry over hyped. It is not going to last for ever. I advise he stays put in PZ as an entry level mgr. Enough said. Best regards. |
Omo, I was in Abakaliki in late November last year and man, I don't think there is a state capital worse than that city in Nigeria. It is the first in reverse order! Sam E |
You supply a comprehensive split equation. Ill-timed ![]() |
For me, - 4 in Lagos lagoons and 3 in the sahara (or all those lake chad area) because one day, somebody will come back from christmas or salah and forget to turn on one or two discharge valves and bingo! ![]() |
stuck in Egypt. Its a pity sha; God is hearing |
Our president is a calculated risk averse so, he does not like to be rushed. Will it not be better to spend one year evaluating the problem and then using four years to solve it than rushing into 'state of emergency' in one week and then getting stuck for ten years? I believe it was out of pain and enthusiasm that he promised to declare a state of emergency in the power sector. Later when he sat down to do constructive analysis, he perharps discovered that there are more than meets the eye. |
Anybody who believes his country has no hope and opts to 'recess' in another man's country never belonged to his country. Woe to he who tarries in Egypt! Imagine the 'no, I prefer to die here to returning to naija'. Nigeria hear that!!!!! and have mercy on them when the time comes. If Americans left their country during the depression and migrated to 'greener' pastures, I wonder who would have put that 'eldorado' together. We always want to have it easy ![]() Strictly Naija! |
He wants to be a Toyota specialist. Is there anybody who knows where he could be trained in the east? |
Thanks all for your inputs. @Sultaan, I think those tools will be cheaper here in Nigeria. He will have to place the order for the manufactures' manuals as soon as this is kick-started. He is interested in Japanese but for the last 30mins, the network did not allow me reach him to know if there are specifics. @fotodaddy, the guy stays in Aba (Abia state) so the prospective trainer(s) need not fear competition. |
fotodaddy, Thanks for your reply. I have been to the site and seen the illustrations there. On the cost, I think my guy should be able to muster that. He is concerned about the specific place to go here in Nigeria to get all the knowledge and manuals/tools he will ever need. I await more response please. |
Off all the bills in nigeria, N20 remains the best! This week, I saw a N1000 note and almost wept. I could not believe that the highest bill in our country could get that mutilated and dirty. I have seen dirty naira notes, but I am yet to see that N20 bill that is as bad as the others. Who ever suggests soludo should apologise should get things straight. ![]() |
I think Mr President is more analytical than Obasanjo - remember he is the first degree holder to become Nigeria's president! Whoever that is defending this colossal waste is not only miopic, but advertises his ignorance. If four years is not enough to see the result of N10b in one of the three arms of the power sector (generation, transmission and distribution), then the project might have failed! Yes, it might not have been completed but nothing is on ground to reflect the spending. You are constructing a world class stadium for instance and after four years, there are no beams/pillars in place? What are we talking about? So all the money/time has been spent on feasibility study or should we now call it sunk cost? Not at all! The power sector seems to have been hijacked by some moguls and cabals in this country and unless that root problem is confronted, there is still high risk of future failures. Nobody can substantiate the claim that the president halted the power project(s) because they are not in the north; it however, may not be unfounded. But to my understanding and assessment, Yar'Adua is much more focused than his predecessor. You don't just impulsively release money without corresponding result - nobody has succeeded that way. Peace to all! |
how has the redenomination in Ghana helped their economy? I disagree with you that Ghana has become the 'giant of Africa' simply because they redenominated. There are economy measurement indices which trascends beyond mere currency face manipulation. That was a very hasty conclusion man! |
The guy wants to know and if you cant help him, direct him to someone who can, as he never asked for the possibility of using it in Nigeria. In as much as our roads are bad, there are still highways where you can use cruise control. Regards to all. |
Nairalanders, I am still waiting pleeeeaaaaasssseee |
Hi all, My brother says he wants to become an auto mechanic (some how advanced since he is an Electrical/Electronic Engr). He has asked me to help him with what it will take to know all he needs especially, as regards advanced troubleshooting of Japanese cars. He really needs to be a resourceful analyst/technician. I read in a post where Siena was saying something about troubleshooting kits and requirements. Siena, could you throw more light on these details please? I await the response of knowledgeable nairalanders. Warm regards |
Dis Guy:I wonder o. ![]() |
very close to 0.9M/annum (info, appx. one year old) |
I know three engineers who are Chartered Accountants. It is very possible. Cheers. |
femilangy, i dont know much about PRINCE2. I think Modu is more positioned to help you out on that. Regards. |
In relationships, the one who is always itching for a breakup is always the stronger/advantaged. For the fact that he is always threatening to leave means the love boat is facing bad storm which will not abate in any near future! My advise - Reduce your expectation of him to the barest minimum. Be very objective and read the writing on the wall. Regards. |
Modu, Good analysis. The triple constraint is treated with equal importance unless otherwise stated in the Project Charter. That is the first document that comes from the project sponsor (maybe project board as PRINCE calls it). The project objectives and goals must be set and stated; it should be a benchmark for deciding those changes you can even consider for impact. That delicate balance required to bring these constraints at par must be struck. It is very necessary to reduce distractions and scope creeping to the barest minimum. IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO ORDER A PREFERENCE WITHIN THE TRIPLE CONSTRAINT. You see, if you do your WBS thoroughly and take all others up from there, I don't see any reason you should not be able to come up with an achievable time and cost management plan. If you miss any task then, your plan must face stormy weather. Know also that you CANNOT come up with the real project budget until after you have done your risk analysis. What this means is that you must have factored in all the known unknowns in your contingency reserve. That way, you will not have to go back to the project sponsor for additional spend. If your scope planning contains only those tasks required to complete the project and there were no marginal changes, time and cost should not be much problem. We know that contingency reserve is calculated for two of the constraints - time and cost; and these two cannot be arrived at without a WBS! WBS comes after scope definition/planning so, my point is this - do your WBS thoroughly and others fall into shape. On quality, I want to point out that in as much as quality could be relative, there must be set acceptance criteria. If there is none, then what are you looking out for during inspection and audit?Quality control fail if there is no yardstick! On budget Modu, there is what we call Control Account. That sums the cost of the tasks under it. On top of the control accounts is the Project cost. If you add contingency to the project cost, you get the Project Cost Baseline. If you now add the management reserve (cost for the unknown unknowns), you arrive at the Cost Budget. Though the management reserve is part of the budget, it is not used during Earned Value calculations. So with these, you will agree with me that "budget" is not loose and should not keep changing if you are a good PM. How many times has Nigeria's fiscal year's budget changed? You at worst get a supplementary and that is only when it has become unavoidable. In projects, there must be approval for the change that would warrant additional spend. There is what PMI calls Enterprise Environmental Factors. You should always have it in mind when planning your project. Things like organisational politics, market environment, alliances, structures, area boys, etc, you should always factor in. Peace to all bros. I love this thread! |
As a guy, i have always wondered why some of us may choose to die than forgive a cheat. True, i know my babe will forgive me if i cheat (which i have never done) but I am sure nothing will remain the same after i discover she cheated - be it self-discovery or volunteered confession. I have a lenient heart but i can't understand why unfaithfulness cannot be accomodated! Ladies, we don't set out to be unforgiving; we are helplessly made like that. I think its in the male hormones more like. I think its just like thinking why men should impregnate women; and not the other way round. Peace all! |
If the ladies on this thread represent the opinion of our ladies then, i am begining to see hope in a state of near hopelessness. Peace to all! |
@ulohomuno, Your article is great and super-compressed. Only PMs will mostly appreciate/comprehend the message. Nice one! Integrated Change Control is always referencing the WBS and Activity Sequencing. Keep the flag flying. I am trying to develep a write up on the link between poor activity sequencing and poor budgeting. More greese to your elbow! ![]() |
gypsy, I have not been on the net for some time hence, the delayed response. I don't really know much about PRINCE2 so, I might not be able to advise you. There are folks on the forum who should be able to advise you. You did not drop your email address ![]() |
