The 31st Olubadan. Oba I.B Akinyele was the First General Evangelist of C.A.C(Christ Apostolic Church). A former balogun, before he became king. It was during his era which was around the spiritual awakening of
as a result of the great revival in Western Nigeria (1930 ) ,that he came into prominence. Of course during the exploits of the fire brand famous evangelist(Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola.)

According to Christ Apostolic Church history, this Oba I.B Akinyele who was a former Balogun during the era of the great revival, he was a piller in the Apostolic team that were responsible for the great manifestation of the work of the Holy spirt through relentless prayer, holiness and explosive revivals.

It was said the the Oba I.B akinyele was part of the team that went to the "Alaafin" that we will no longer be sending "ishakole" (tributes) to the oyo kingdom and also we want an autonomous government in Ibadan. (You will notice that the previous leaders in Ibadan were only regarded as "Baale's" (Tribal Chiefs) and not Olubadan(king).

Previous attempts towards this request have resulted in mysterious deaths on the delegates. He was warned that he should not go to the "Alaafin"(supreme leader of the oyo empire) who was powerful and regarded a "death" himself. But Balogun Akinyele ,disregarded their warning, he told them that the power of God is supreme and reigns over death itself. He assured them that he will go and come back alive. He was advised to make many sacrifices, eat a lot of charms but he refused because he was a man of God and filled with the spirit of God.

Within the next 7 days, he summoned prayer warriors and they fasted and prayed towards the trip. On the 7th day , he informed the current "baale" that he is going to oyo for the important visit.

What happened next when he got there.....something happened when he met the "alaafin".

In responding to a post that appreciated the hierarchical system that has over many years been employed by Ibadan to determine the Olubadan succession, I asserted that it was not a real royal stool but a Baale system - wasn't that even very obvious going by the method of succession where any one who has been appointed a chief of Ibadan becomes part of the succession line?

In a Baale system, there is nothing like royal family or royal blood. The oldest chief takes over and the cycle continue. Nothing is inherited by any royal blood as it does not exist.

So I repeat that the Olubadan is not a real royal stool. It is a system of government of its own by a governing aristocracy that does not hold hereditary titles or previledges, and the most senior member of this governing aristocracy not by age but by membership in the aristocracy, become the next in line for succession.

Some ignorant fellows quoted me to cuss and insult. A few quoted and showed they were quite informed about this origin of Ibadan

I did not respond to any of them.

For the ignorant ones, I hope this topic which is not even from me, would inadvertently show them they are ignorant.

Among the first 23 Rulers, many had the title Baale being dominant up till 1930.

The Olubadan appellation only came up from 1930.

Family / Re: Are We Been Insensitive Or We Should Just Help Our Neighbour. by Kayw4re(m): 5:58am On Jan 02
Rich4god:
Greetings to you all...
Pardon me, my write up will be long.

A little intro.
About 3 months ago, we got a new tenant who packed into our compound. A family of 5, three daughters and the parent. One of the daughter is married and the father blind and stays in the village. So we have just the mother and two daughters staying in the compound.
The elder daughter is around 24years and has a job that takes her out of the house, but the junior one doesn't have, she stays at hine 247 and shes about 20-22 years.

There is a guy just opposite our compound and he's group of friends. By just looking at them, you will know that they are upcoming yahoo boys but they never blow. So for me, even though as I see them everyday, I do my best to avoid them.

The main issue.
Not up to 3 weeks after our neighbour packed into our compound, the younger daughter start hanging out with the guys. Almost every minute of the day, the girl and the guys will be seated right in front of the compound for hours even late into the night.

At time, they will stand right in front of our gate, of someone wants to come out of the compound, the won't shift for you. You will have to be telling them to move or you just pass by "dodging" them.

I was actually concerned about their relationship, because me I see to those boys as criminals and that girl isn't supposed to be relating with them. If say them done blow, I for understand, maybe the girl is getting some money from them, but those guys have nothing to offer. Not even meaningful advice.

One day I came back from work, they were at the front of our gate. I have to wriggle my way in as I don't want to start having any form of conversation with them. Then as I entered, I saw her mum seated in the compound and I jokingly said to her "Aren't you worried that your daughter is always standing outside with these boys"... and she said to me, "when you married your wife, was she always inside house, abi you no wan make I pikin see husband".... I just laughed it off, but I began to mind my business from that day.

How can you mind your business when you are still living in the house with your family. Even if you never marry, your properties and documents will be in the house with you.

Those ones that said mind your business are the reason the world is rotten especially among youths. Imagine the audacity saying it loudly that no one can stop them from coming to the gate after being warned by the caretaker.

Let me teach you a style. I call it silent or passive threat.

One day, find a way to connect with a Policeman or Soldier (Red beret preferrably). Then come to the house together with the uniformed personnel , gisting o. Just enter your own flat and don't say anything to those boys when you see them at the gate.

But make sure they are all around when the person comes visiting. Let them also see you escorting the personnel when he is leaving.

Those boys will vanish like vapour after that.

I promise you.

Britain should not forget to evacuate all the Jews she brought to Palestine during colonial regime

lol. That land belongs to the Jews. Do you even know that both Jordan, Iran, and Iraq are all far cousins to the Jews?

Abraham was from Mesopotamia (modern-day Iran). Lot who was Abraham's cousin was the father of Ammon and Moab(people who are the first descendants of Iraq. Esau who was Abraham's bastard son was the father of the Ishmeelites (those who are also part of the early sellter of Edom (also part of Iraq and Iran.

Modern-day Jordan belongs to the half-tribe of Ruben and the half-tribe of Mannaseh (Joseph's sons were Ephraim and Manasseh)

Try and read about how the Jews were dispersed from their land in the first place before you start playing the blame game.

Bros, please get facts o. You might become a leader in the future, and you owe it to the world to aways abide by the truth and not hear-say.

Thank you.

and if you are a Christian, let me know i can give you a bible verse where God marked out the borders of Israel land right from the beginning of this world.

speaking of the British. Are they not the same ones that carved out the borders of the Nigerian land mass?

A lot of people here needs to pick up history lessons.

sebi Hamas did not do anything abi? when Hitler murdered 6 million Jews during the Second World War, the world did not come to an end. Talking about ancestral land, get your facts right. That place has been Isreal land for ages.

In case you don't know, Abraham who is the forefather of Israel was even from Iran, so they can actually claim a whole lot of land space.

I'm sure you are educated, pls don't put sentiment in your opinion.

If I were Hamas, and I bombed your house and killed your siblings, if you were Isreal, would you fold your arms?

This war is as sensless as what is currently going on in Ukraine. There wont be a winning side. Only Death, Fire and Blood.

Family / Re: After Being Single For Soo Long, Im Now Scared Of Getting Married. Please Help!! by Kayw4re(m): 10:31pm On Jan 23, 2023
EriMma1:
This may sound weird but it's my situation now.

I have been a single and independent lady for a very long time. Though I really looked forward to settling down in my 20s and thirties but because I was the over careful type, I couldn't as I kept being picky due to men's character and behavior.

Fast-forward to my lat 30s, I began to lose interest and started getting more comfortable as a single. The upheavals in today's marriage also got to me. As in the way marriages are packing up, the cheating aspect, abuse and domestic violence in marriages all further affected me and changed my whole perception of the union called marriage. So I unconsciously resolved to remain single as long as I'm happy, comfortable and financially independent.

Some of the reasons I also made up my mind are.
As a single, Im very much at peace, with no one dictating what and when I should do things or get out of bed. I love my bed.
No one is body shaming me when I add on some pounds due to excessive eating and no one is questioning my eating habits as its sometimes the case with some married women. Also running errands when you don't feel up to it just because hubby wants you to do it. Some men can send their wife on errand like crazy and me I hate running errands. angry

No one is disturbing me when I need time alone which could last for hours. I love my space and privacy. So the thought of having to give up all that scares the hell out of me.

Now, back to the matter.

Recently, some close spiritual leaders in my denomination have been trying to match make me with a single pastor and that one too is shining teeth that he has seen a jimjim sister. When they now openly mentioned it yesterday with the said man around and he too was nodding and agreeing to the proposal, it dawned on me that these people are not joking. When I got home, i sank into my comfy space and began to fret. I mean... The thought of giving up all that freedom is just so scary. I suddenly discovered that marriage no longer excites me and my inner self was fighting it.
Also, the thought of carrying pregnancy for nine months with all the stress of looking after babies, tending toddlers ( poo poo) and that motherhood life made me sick instantly. The thought of joggling my job with family life gave me the chills. I see how my married mates struggle with this. Huh. Men...

I don't know. I don't feel cool about this cos it makes me feel like I'm about to be put in a cage and everything about me is going to change.

Now, before you talk about me not loving the man, I think I fancy him and can love him cos he looks so much like my ex of years ago. So that is out of the question. He is a happening lovable man but....... I no longer feel excited about marriage. at least, from what played out yesterday.

Do I need any form of therapy cos my family won't hear of it but this is my situation now ooo... Hmmm

If I may ask, have ever been in love with someone?

Every negative reason you listed up there will be the result of lack of love in a marriage.

Centurion101:
I write this story to encourage people to always help if they are in a position to do so, especially is the situation is dire. What goes around comes around and you might just find yourself in a situation where you Will need help from strangers and hope they help you too.

Days ago I was in my neighborhood in South West running some errands at around 9pm on Sunday when I found myself in a very busy road packed to the brim end to end with cars stuck in a hold up trying to beat the jam to get to Thier respective destinations.

I turned the ignition off since I've already spent like 20minutes without moving an inch, a few seconds later I heard a loud bang it was a speeding bike who wanted to use it's small size to it's advantage to beat the traffic, upon close inspection I realized the bike has Just hit a guy with full force and ran away.

Consequently people came out to check on the guy that was hit,he was unconscious bleeding from the back of his head and face, unfortunately the bike's force banged him right into a very big cement structure that would probably weigh a couple of tons.

Nigerians being Nigerians started praying and speaking in tongues instead of administering aid to the guy, nobody was willing to touch him, there were just shouting and saying he is probably dead and they don't want police to charge them with his death.

At this point I tried to control the crowd to disperse and at least give this guy room to breathe and get some fresh air hoping that might resuscitate him,but there were like 50people gathering there and there is only so much a single person can do.

So realizing no one was willing to help this guy I fought my way through them ruggedly to get to the guy I realized he has a broken leg and arm and he was bleeding heavily but he has a pulse and he is not dead,
I don't know what I was thinking or what power came over me but the fact that he is alive made a difference to me and I said to myself I will take him to the hospital even if I have to carry him on my back and trek there.
I asked a man to help me Carry him, he asked do I know the victim and I answered yes,he is my junior brother.

so they helped me lift him up and I carried him on my back and began to speed, now the next thing was how to get transportation,we are in a hold up and no car is moving, by this point the crowds has dispersed and left me alone to tend to my PROBLEM.

I locked my car , sat the guy close to the side of the road ,I tried to find something that could apply pressure to reduce the bleeding, then it dawned on me that a cloth will do just fine,so I removed my shirt and tied it around his leg where he was bleeding the most.

Like I said earlier the task at hand was how to get transportation to the closest hospital, I began flagging down bikes but none of them stopped out of fear until I literarily ran in front of one forcing him to stop and told him to take me to the next hospital,I was about to start begging him to not let this guy die because of fear when this guy got down from his bike offering to help lift him so we can take him to the hospital,I don't know if it's God that sent him or it was just pure luck but he helped and we put the victim in the middle and started our journey to the hospital.

On the way I checked the guy's pulse and breathing like every second, telling him he's going to live one way or the other because my work will not be in vain. As God will have it he opened his eyes but he was still incoherent and totally out of it ,but at least now his eyes is opened and he is not laying down like a dead man, that kind of gave me an atom of hope.

Moments later we arrived at a private hospital and they were just about to close, apparently they had some issues with the workers that were supposed to cover a night shift, infact there was only one doctor on call and a few nurses around so it was all hands on deck, the victim was stretched in and as per private hospital wahala they demanded card and treatment fee up front, I even begged them to at least priorities the guy's life first but they said no money no treatment,so I paid for card, admission fee and treatment, it was 33,000 naira

After payment the doctor came in with the nurses and started working Thier magic, giving him some injections , cleaning his wounds, they even plugged him up with something that aided his breathing (I don't know what the thing is called).

After a couple of hours around 11:30pm the doctors came out and told me he was stable, that he had some internal bleedings that has Been stopped and he is responding fine to the treatment, they said I can go and see him if I wanted.

I went into the ward and checked up on him,he was heavily medicated and he couldn't really say anything that makes sense,he was just fixated on my face, strolling in and out of consciousness.

I slept in the hospital and the following morning around 8am he was awake and fine ,so I went to see him and when he saw me,he just started crying uncontrollably saying THANK YOU like a hundred times without stopping, this kind of made me a bit emotional because I've not really seen a lot of grown men cry.
He gave me his phone and I contacted his family members and told them what Happened, his mother almost passed out on the call, some minutes later they all rushed into the hospital. I peeked at them through the glass window when they went to his ward, the relief and joy in Thier faces is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life.

I left my number with the nurses there and told them to give to the guy when he is discharged and I made my way down to fetch my car, hoping and praying fervently that the car is still there and that was it.

That 33k was the best thing I've paid for in all my life and what happened just gave me joy and relief anytime I think about it.

The guy and his parents calls me like a billion times a day, they even offered to pay me back but I refused, collecting the money back is not worth the joy I got from doing what I did.

You did well. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.

Politics / Re: Political Jargons Among Nigerians by Kayw4re(m): 7:34am On Sep 28, 2022
Axis313:
As the 2023 general election draws nearer and the campaign started less than 24 hours away,Nigerians will started to hear many political terminologies synonymous to the country, and I am sure new ones will surely join those that I have known before the election proper.

Below are the those I can find, both the existing ones and new ones, according the present political situation

1. ‘GODFATHER’

The Godfather is real, he is not a myth. You will find people who will tell you a Godfather is not necessary for you to succeed in politics. If you agree, you have failed already, you don’t have to take my word for it. A Godfather doesn’t have to be rich (most of them are), old (a lot of them are) or very loud (the louder the less effective). A Godfather is someone who gives the word and it gets passed down the value chain. You need to get on his radar, or on the radar of someone who knows someone who knows him. The most important currency you need when you are relating with a Godfather is Loyalty. Forget about how brilliant or competent you are – all those can be found elsewhere.

2. ‘GODMOTHER’

This one might sound strange, but she exists. The curriculum vitae of the Godmother might even be longer than that of the Godfather. She was a young girl who served tea at meetings with Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe. She was Welfare officer of her Ward when Chief Obafemi Awolowo started Unity Party of Nigeria after rebranding from the Action Group. She was one of the young girls who ironed the prison uniforms of Hajia Gambo Sawaba. You can afford to piss off the Godfather, the Godmother can intercede on your behalf. The problem this presents is that whatever you do, you never cross the Godmother. If you do, you are on your own.

3. ‘BARBED WIRE’

In politics, if you run into a problem that seems intractable, it means you have run into ‘barbed wire’. If you are not careful, as you try to extricate yourself from the wire, a wrong move could plunge you deeper into the mess of wires. There are many barbed wire situations in politics. You cannot always avoid getting into trouble, but at least don’t be foolhardy and look before you leap. Examples of ‘barbed wire’ situations are refusing to follow instructions of party leaders, dating the lady the Party Leader is interested in, forgetting to supply diesel to the Party Chairman or sending a goat to the Market Women Leader instead of a cow.

4. ‘ON GROUND’

In 2019, I was trying to support one of the female candidates in Ekiti for the State House of Assembly. She was a strong candidate, from a prominent family, well educated and a committed party member. She ticked all the right boxes. I had put in a good word for her and assumed that all would be well and the process would take care of itself. I travelled out of the country for two weeks. When I got back, my plan was to stay in Lagos for another week to attend to some things. I spoke to my husband when I got home from the airport and when I asked how things were going in Ekiti he said, ‘I understand your candidate is not ‘on ground’. I was stunned, I had no idea what that meant. Everyone knew who she was! I abandoned my plans to stay in Lagos and went straight back to Ekiti. After a week of face to face meetings (which included kneeling) appeals, and the necessary motivations, my candidate was firmly ‘on ground’. Being ‘on ground’ is metaphorical as well as literal.

5. ‘CONSENSUS’

This one is straightforward. The leaders invite you to a meeting. They appeal to you to accept their proposals. They offer you incentives or make promises. You listen and agree to play your part, whatever that part is. If you dislike your part, you are free to join another party.

6. ‘STINGY’

Yes, ‘Stingy’ is a political term, hence it deserves a place in this glossary. Facilitating a school for your community, providing a primary healthcare clinic, digging a borehole or providing solar light are commendable things. You are still ‘Stingy’. You bought ‘empowerment materials’ and gave out Okadas, sewing machines, hairdryers, grinding machines. You are still ‘Stingy’. You gave Christmas/Ramadan gifts to the Chairman, Youth Leader, Woman Leader, Labour, Artisans, Okada riders and so on, you are still ‘Stingy’. Do you want to know how not to be ‘Stingy’? Forget the Bible verse about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Next time you do anything in your community, forget about being modest. Modesty is the downfall of the ambitious politician. Grab a microphone or megaphone and let the whole world know who was given what, where, when and how. Until then, you are ‘Stingy’.

7. ‘YOU ARE THE FIRST’

As a politician who doesn’t have a lot of experience, everywhere you go, you will hear, ‘You are the first to do this…….’. You will visit ten places and they will say this to you ten times. It is a lie. They have said the same thing to every person who went to campaign there.

8. ‘ENDORSEMENT’

As a politician, you will seek endorsements from many important stakeholders. Royal fathers will listen to you and pray for your success. They will tell you what their communities need. Religious leaders will lay their hands on you. Market women will list their demands and dance for you. Young people will demand for jobs and more attention. Women will demand for 35% inclusion. You will say yes to all demands and they will say yes, you have our support. Everyone asks for endorsement. Everyone gets it. You will not know for sure till election day.

9.‘CARRY ALONG’

In political circles, you will hear this a lot, ‘I have not been carried along’, or ‘We the leaders have not been carried along’. You will stand there scratching your head in disbelief. You invite people to meetings to discuss issues and take a position and they still turn around to say ‘We were not carried along’. If you do not make time to visit a leader and have a private session with him and believe he will be happy with a town hall meeting that involves many other people, you have not ‘carried him along’ because you have not made him feel special. If you invite people to a meeting and do not provide adequate transport fare, you have not carried them along. If you only gave your party leader N50,000 when his daughter was getting married, you have not carried him along. If you only sent two chickens to the wife of the leader for Christmas, you have not carried her along. If you did not sponsor anyone to Mecca or Jerusalem from your constituency, you have not carried people along. Hope you understand the term better now.

10. ‘SOCIAL MEDIA WARDS AND UNITS’

The citizens in these units are very passionate and engaged. Their opinions and insights are interesting and can be profound, all reflections of the patriotism that drives many of them. Though there are those who give cause for concern about the state of their mental health, these political units serve as a rallying point for a lot of young and middle-aged voters. The problem is the number of opinions and solutions in these units does not match the number of voters’ cards needed to make a difference. There are no physical polling units here and while these units have many returning officers, they are all illegal. Many political fortunes have been led astray in these units. If you are a politician who is serious about winning elections, maximise your engagement with the people who can actually vote and are keen to do so in real polling units and wards.

You can add your own.

Hi , nice write up. Very original and relevant.

You have a sound knowledge of the what happens in the political back end which is majorly "party politics".

I hope an aspiring future candidate can tap into your knowledge.

I remember watching the wedding ceremony of these people as a child.

I actually asked myself then, why would a young pretty woman marry someone as short, ugly and unattractive as JA.

Well silly me. It was the money. It is the money. It will forever be about the money.

Now Stand up comedy is obsolete. JA has literally no source of income. And guess what, she just suddenly realised that JA is a fool.

Or that he was unfaithful while sick. Or some other flimsy excuse. But you woke up, wore white gown and swore with a bible to be with him through it all.

Young men. I don't know what to say, but you can't ever be actually loved. Maybe your mother will try.

But that's just about it. TFU this woman sha

Let me not imagine what this man had done to this lady in his room when this girl was nothing then, infact when she didn't even have pubic hairs in her Vjay.

I am calmly waiting for my sugar daddy that is 46years older than me to marry me to his fleets of wives. I love that man.

Romance / Re: What's The Easiest Way To Win A Woman's Heart by Kayw4re(m): 11:43pm On Feb 10, 2022
odinson1:
You can either win a Woman's heart,or you can win her pussy. You mostly can't do either.

The Love struck, sex starved simp who Takes her on dates, gives her money, takes her on trips, gives her All his Attention and time, plus Excessive Validation, that Guy wins her Heart. But because of this, her pussy will run dry for him and will try her possible best to deny him Sex Which he would most likely agree to(simp who agrees to no sex till marriage).

How do you win her Pussy then you might ask? You have to act Different from all other guys,be confident, observe body language,do not give her Spend on her,do not take her on dates to expensive restaurants. You can invite her over to your house on the first date,if she doesn't want to,then she either doesn't like you,or she doesn't feel safe Around you.

The moment you start doing boyfriend stuff for her when she isn't already your girlfriend, you've just successfully purchased a One way ticket into the Dreaded Friendzone, where the souls of so many Simps have been lost, never to be found again.

No matter how rich you think you might be,there are chances of your wife cheating on you with a broke nigga in the hood. So You can't win a woman over with money(only her heart but that is useless because women DO NOT LOVE). when you win her heart, you win her affection and attention, not her Attraction or sexual arousal for you. Try and spot the difference whenever you are dealing with girls.

My 2 cents.

Igwe!! Salute!

Sports / Re: Patrice Evra: I’m Sick Of Giving The Ballon D’or To Messi by Kayw4re(m): 7:20am On Oct 17, 2021
OJEEMAH:
In the eyes Ronaldo fans, Messi doesn't deserve Balon D'or because Ronaldo does not stand a chance this year. I am not even surprised at Evra's comment........E be like say the Agbada wey Messi sew for am in that UCL semi final clash between Barca & Man u still dey pain am.

At the bolded, what did the lunatic say when a trophiless Ronaldo defeated treble winning Ribery in 2013? All of a sudden Copa America is crap cos Messi won and silenced his goddamn mouth.......All these years, they were taunting Messi with Int'l trophy, they didn't realize the tournament is played by 12 teams.

If Copa America is crap, they should kindly explain how Ronaldo de Lima & Rivaldo both won World Best Players in 1997 and 1999 respectively.

The lunatic even dey ask wetin Messi do with Barcelona. Talent win games but team win titles.......Barcelona struggled till January that Messi's goals pushed them into competing with Madrid and ATM........unfortunately the lost the league but despite a slow start to the season, same Messi was top scorer in La liga and scored twice in Copa Del Rey final.

Out of the 12 goals Argentina scored in Copa America, Messi scored 5 and assisted 4 which means he contributed 9 out of the 12 goals his team scored.......Messi won the tournament, finished as top scorer and also shared Best Player Award with Neymar.

So what is Evra saying??

Well said brah.

May our blessings and destiny not be decided by people who will not judge us by our quality and ability but sentiments.

Happy Sunday
