Yes nobody holy pass and she's got a family to feed and all that sentiments but the truth is some professions are let me use the wiord sacred Police, Clergys ( all religion including the traditional) Judges( Not lawyers) pharmacists, medical lab Scientists, nurses, medical doctors, teachers to mention a few and people in these professions jobs or vocation as the case may be are supposed to be of the highest level of integrity. The sentiments being whipped should have been considered by these police women before bringing themselves so low. I also want to say that if you present an indisputable evidence about the corrupt practice of any body , then its difficult tnot to have such persons prosecuted but what we have people ( us) peddling in most cases concerning the highly placed people in the society and the cadres are mere rumours and grumblings if no concrete evidence is provided in the open. Pizzanatty: Some will be happy and say rubbish because of your hatred for Police...but remember irrespective of what thing or say about this happening, no one has the right to video any officer on duty, when you are shot dead and placed evidence to nail you will advice those making those videos to desist. |
Just silly of them to in the first place think of that. I guess and I think I'm right that the lecturers in these private universities do not have better conditions of service than members of ASUU at the least of which is the non existence in most cases of a pension for those on the private universities. NASS has really become a political tool if NANS leadership will be on a salary, official car, and all those paraphernalia that is associated with corruption and waste of public fund. As much as it is of utmost expediency that university education should be paid due attention, NASS is not asking is of what importance is the strike action in the middle of the semester to the students. Why not embark on strike when all schools will be on sessional breaks. somebody says all schools does not have the same calendar I ask couldn't the strike commence at the end of the sessions of each school and it goes on like that in a wave ? NANS is not doing what they ought to be doing and they are just channeling their energies to frivolities. Do they realize that in learning especially in (Higher) education it is better to start all over again than to stop abruptly midway and then to jump start where you stopped, mind them that is what their lecturers will surely do. I am talking from experience cause I experienced it in full measure in the early 90's ( between January '92 and December '97 in my university, there were a total of 22 months of strikes and closures) besides that with the little increase in salaries and grants then there was no improvement in the style and lecture notes of the lecturers, save for few good and brilliant ones who regularly travel abroad to deliver lectures. It used to take a whole lot of efforts to come back to speed with your studies when strike actions are protracted and starts in the middle of academic activities. In fact performance afterwards are really abysmal low and the lecturers and faculty councils will sympathetically reduce the pass mark standards through upgrading and all sorts of things in order to have a sizeable number of students to graduate or pass. It is obvious the way the leadership of NASS has been going on that going to school is a pass time and an escape from the problems in the larger society which they'll eventually come face to face with no matter how they try to run away from it. I can't imagine the closure of all hospitals private and public because nurses in the public (government) hospitals are in industrial actions based on the conditions of service in the public hospitals. More , the negotiation has nothing to do with state universities o, as it is beyond the fed govt and I believe the state universities are well involved in the strike too, so what is their own position after all this this ? Lastly I ask, assuming government decides to agree to ASUU's demands and grant them all they ask for I mean ALL, what BENEFIT WILL IT BE FOR THOSE FINAL YEAR AND PENULTIMATE FIUNAL TYEAR STUDENTS IN ALL THE DEPARTMENTS ACROOS THE UNIVERISTIES. ? |
Good one from those guys , they are the ones that needs to be given awards for solving a problem. I don't theres anything bad in owning one of these if its a bit comfortable though . It used to be popular and called Jaludo in Uniife (now OAU) way back in the early 80's. It could help while engaging in dirty chores like environmental sanitation, farming and besides who am I to knock somebody's legitimate and worthy hustle or abuse someone for using what he can afford. In higher institutions in the south west way back early 90's the fad then was to buy moccasins hand made from blue, green brown or black jeans material with the sole cut from used tires. |
That's an Idoma identity and cultural head gear besides this is aq low level of mischievousness you just displayed, do something waohser. Adelaide2: Great photo, unlike this one below |

Ubenedictus: this was on my mind. Those traditions are there for a reason, they are signs and symbols, if you contradict them without good reason then it may be interpreted in a contrary way. The pope shouldn't bow to any temporal ruler, the spiritual superseeds the temporal. I'll be very happy to see him bow to a begger but not before a queen.Kings are appointed by God , let us cut the crap, there's a Spiritual reason we have languages people kingdoms and kings and we need to respect and regard that what these kings do is immaterial God is God and he rules over the affairs of men. Seek of God the reason(s )and you'll there and then realize the insubordination and sin we've committed against God and His works in the name of religion. To me the Pope being spiritual understands more and only him could best say the reason he did that and this is somethong we all I mean all need to learn from. Mind you I Am not Of Catholic religion. |
Expect some new juicy appointments and contracts soon. |
This is good , if you don't respect yours, nobody will. The British Govt in 2009 spent about 40 million pound sterling on their royals and budgeted to spend about 33 million pounds this year alone. I don't think the Queeen does much work in the Govt. |
it was d dead on arrival |
ninja4life: More than 80 views and no comment na wa for nairalanders o.anyway kudos to d prof for his work on trypanosomiasis more energy to elbow.this are d kind of lecturers we need in our universities not those pot bellied idiots who calls themselves lecturers but dont attend class neither do dey conduct meaningful research all dey do is strike and demand money from federal government i hope dat changes, and our lecturers should work more like dis prof and make us proud.anyway if u want me to say i'm first to comment i wont do dat cos i'm more mature.lolWhy would there be comments ? He is neither Igbo nor Yoruba thus he has denied ethnic bigots another bragging right and egoistic noise. Good one prof congratulations. Where are ASUU members here ? |
Education an parental care probably lacking, but as much as I agree with those who said the guy should not let off like that, some social psychologist should be work on the guy because if not handled probably, a loose canon in the making is already identified. Moreover, this tells us so much about the transformation in the aviation sector. It questions the security of our airports. Could someone remember a similar breach happened either in PH or Calabar some years back that involves a taxi cab. Rather than be looking at big beautiful high structures and gadgets at a high cost for now, lets start with improving our work ethics, and pay details to the smaller details which are even more problematic if not resolved. Beautiful looking Airports exteriors andinteriors are good but beyond that, the security and maintenance of the facilities are even more important. |
Locomotives o electric o diesel o, I don't care all I want is I don't be believe it's modern then it must be best for you. You consider functionality. Are we really having the resources to maintain the high tech fast moving trains? If what you desire in life is to have a 2013 model sedan of any make with a cost over over 3million naira. however your savings is 3million naira with a monthly income of 200k, wife also on monthly income 250k rent is due in 3months, your 2 kids are resuming school in a month, you have aged parents who are pensioners, a jobless ( though productive sibling) helpless extended family and with all these you need to get a car. Would you rather go for the 2013 or get a 200 less than 4 neat clean functional Tokunbo sedan at about 30-40% 0f 3million and use savings for other self improvement investments ?. The mentality of impressing without thinking of functionality is one the reasons for a lot a gargantuan in sustainable projects all over the place in the country. I;m not a fan of PDP but if we can have functional railway in this country be it 100, 50 20 years old technology I don't care what I care about is the service and functionality and that is what we need. I say again, lets start from a functional somewhere from whence we can build and improve rather than the impressive. Nigerians need to start thinking about our needs and not the lofty glorious thing. "WE NEED SUGAR FOR WE TEA WE DON"T WANT NO CAKE EE". |
bakynes: Even though the article doesn't clearly state the dispute between the LASG and ASPAMD.To the issue of the FG and LASG,since the FCT has been moved away from lagos, the FG has refused to maintain all the properties,Facilities and Roads they built when lagos was the FCT.Now Lagos state cannot stand and watch these facilities become slums and the roads left unmaintained. It is the same problem we have with some Federal roads in our area while Lagos state is constructing new roads, the FG have left their own roads in turmoil, lagos state has acquired most of those Federal roads and are nw constructing and maintaining them.Since the Trade fair complex has been taken over by Private investors, the igbos involved in Spare part trading needs to cooperate with the LASG for rehabilitation of the roads and Facility since it has been abandoned by the FG.Failure to comply then their shops would be closed. They would care if LASG is down or not. They have been and in this same mindset continue to propagate the stifling and the ruin of any other part of the country in their revenge bid which recompense is eventually coming on them. Thgose talking about the guarantees and provisions of the constitution , I wan to ask 1 Does the constitution in its superiority provides that you should not obey legally constituted authoreity. 2. Does it place solely the issue of the securities of the various states in itself alone. ? 3. Does it says there are not state tax laws that should not be 4. Do these people talking about paying tax know anything about PAYE and its provisions. 5. Is the trade fair complex or the ASPANDA market not supposed to be for all Nigerians, then why is it now only the Igbos would be affected ? Except only Igbos are allowed to operate freely in the market ( a bigotry , discriminatory act). 6. Does these market operators or traders really pay TAX to the Federal Government or are merely paying rent to the Landlords which are two separate things that should not be confused ? 7. Do people realize that government has 100% right to ask for your sales and expenditure register at any point in time ( irespectibve of the type , and size of your shop or trading) in order to ascertain Your real income and tax to be paid. furthermore, to verify the type of personal expenditures and responsibilities in order to calculate or give you tax rebates ? 8 . In even a less developed country like Niger Republic, you have to obtain receipts from government which you'll hhave to ussue out t your customers on all transactions, devil kiss any one caught without government receipts. This helps government to monitor your account and trap their taxes from your real income( Serious Government and serious CITIZENS). 8. Does these people and indeed all Nigerians realize that under some circumstances, our houses can be searched and these circumstances to warrant such can range from minor suspicion of a crime or offense to the more serious ones , which any arm The plantain is decayed and we are saying its ripening. The rot that has been in existence does not mean it must continue. If you know you are really as important and the society you find yourself is really UNDESERVING of your IMPORTANCE and WHAT you are bringing to the Table, you simply relocate AND REPEAT THE SO CALLED FEAT especially where you'll have all the chances to DO AS YOU LIKE. |

zico2: you re such a big fool.I gues you are in your twenties and you are not properly brought up at Home, church/ mosque / shrine or on the street. You wouldn't have called someone that |
The federal govt does not depend on any money from the ACBS what it requires is from the creeks and the people from the creeks who are in power will definitely fill back the void created by the goodwill fiesta. So the whole Nigeria can economically and socially come to a standstill and in fact go to reverse mode who cares anyway. It's all for our women, it's our time, haters and emphasis is on all those Nigerians who are not happy with this call to come chop, play, giggle and make the mother of all sitting state governors (whom she cannot kill anyway )be accomplished in her bid to better the lots of Nigerian women that no other elected officers can do, be happy should wait for their time. No be we dey feed the Country . Abi I lie ? |
For those who asking how he does his job? Well he's an engineer not a technician and that's what baffles me when people start saying about engineers that some does not know how to repair car or hold a spanner, do some other stuff. The truth is that an engineer necessarily not do that but his training and responsibility is mainly to design ( University) and give the designs to technicians who translates the design what we see, touch and use ( polytechnics). |
Alex O ,good vocals , lovely dance steps handsome guy ( Don't you ever stop me , I wanna burst loose" . Gave us real classy songs then; going into music was not lucrative. We don't have much of them good again safe for Dare, Tuface Asa, and some few underground ones. These days we have same lame lyrics, auto-tuned voices, laid on whacky tracks, still giving up for Don baba J though.Does anyone remembers Dora Ifudu, Dizzy K falola, Felix Liberty, Chris Okotie, Bright Chimezie, Lijadu sisters ? |
roxell120: no ibos no lagos. no ibos no development.check the statistics in lagos location. ibos competitiveness is too intimidating to their host yorubas.that's y the hate.they flourish in biz cos they are master of the art even without certificate.they keep their customers coming back naturally tru good relationship. but yorubas keep looking for new customers cos they drive the few they ve with abuses.ask me ibos ve commerce at their finger tips. it took them few years to recover from the war ravages unlike any other country. and today no tribe can challenge them economically and living standard. look at the thread, tomorrow ull say one nigeria. keep decieving ourselves. its only oil that unites us.quote me.Perseverance, See fake hustler ....... to them it hurts to hear this, O you went platinum yeah that's nice, now let me see you do the same thing twice. Go repeat same feat in the Lovely East and you'' get the respect you love to eat. |
In the name of blind hatred, some people are just hell bent to destroy the accommodating docile, respectfull and regardful humane kind large hearted nature of the Yorubas. Infact are more engrossed at destroying them, they claim to be mainly Christians though but are worse than Boko Haram, they never see anything good in the Yoruba andYorubaland except the opportunities to make money not life in the land. I have a news for them, The givers ( of land, accomodation and opportunities ) hand always stays on top while the taker will always be beneath, All the wealth and so called ownership is at a tenure of 99 years after which everybody bears his fathers name. NOBODY BEGS THE HUNHBACK TO STRETCH WHEN THE TIME COMES. I really don't react to the rants. |
Sincerely speaking, over population of the Lagos area is the issue here. There's not much space in Lagos because movement is not spread as it should, there had been non-adherence to standards in housing and city planning both by the government agencies and the people. Every Sola, Uche, Osas, Deng, Tanko,Danladi, Tyoozua, Ameh wants to come to Lagos. This is good but what provisions do they make for their proper accommodation and living ? Virtually none , but to either squat in a bedroom with a house with an already stretched conveniences, facilities and space, and in the desperation, will encourage the house owners to just have an extension of any sort ( These days, former room and parlours are now being converted to mini flats ! ). We talk about improving our standards of living but we are not ready to make conscious efforts and are quick to berate the government whenever anything in the mode of normalizing the abnormal. I think what the government was talking about are thos who dried their clothing on railing in front of their verandahs and not those ones neatly and properly arranged in constructed or ready made racks and those ones in your compound, on lines or on the floor ( who will give a hoot about that one anyways?). Being neat, clean and presentable is not an issue of money ( money can get/buy you into class but it cannot make you classy though), it is simply a state of mind a a conscious effort to do it. I know of a classmate from a very poor ( Talk of different shows, same jeans same singlet shirt, same shoes level) family yet he display class with his faded jeans and shirts that he was a toast of ladies then. It is high time to in most issue start thinking in the positives rather than just displaying crass basic traits especially those who are educated (which I believe majority of NLders are) and be the shinning star which we are supposedly ought to be and not the area boy uncivilized thinking and attitude. To me the thinking of the LASG is in order, truly,m when you don't exude and encourage good standards, those coming behind you will have nothing better to work on but bad standards which they'll always believe is right. |
ASUU and other strikes which were very common in the 90's in a long way did not bring any positives to most of us who were im school in that era. It was so much that I observe a drastic fall in standards, increase in violent crimes within the schools and the students were the ones who always lose. It is so pathetic that these lecturers will wait till towards the end of a session and then embark on the strike. Let me tell you what stops them from embarking on these strikes after exams had been conducted , marked and released ? But without anything, they'll stunt the progress of these helpless students. I ask again of what advantage will the negotiations affect the standard of those who are already in final year and penultimate years assuming federal government immediately starts to implement agreements reached ? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the strike only affects these sets of students but will it have any positives on what they already had? It is really callous wicked for members of ASUU to embark on strikes at such times I repeat, why not wait till the end of the session or semester. Unfortunately immediately after resumption, they will do nothing but launch the students into examinations agh agh!!! It is the height of the wickedness and insensitivity because most students will definitely fail and besides the standard of what they'll write will be low compared to if session is brought to a honorable end. And some if not all these lecturers use without any acknowledgement the results of projects embark on by their students as part of their submissions for their post graduates thesis, papers and submissions. We need to talk to ASUU if government is behaving irresponsible why should such a highly respected people follow suit ? behaving like members of NURTW( another body like that is association of resident Doctors) who will break bottles and resort to intimidation ,blackmail and violence at any slightest frustration. |
May I say that let Jesus Christ come down and say the truth with all evidence about an issue that concerns a Yoruba man, they the Igbo's especially the new breeds who left the east to Lagos or are stereotyped against Yorubas will never believe and even may refer to Him as the devil. Really some people are not worth just replying. The move by LASG may be wrong I repeat may be but given the circumstances and precedence then no need crucifying. Why are people not shouting when same was done to some Yorubas from other states. Really I see a lot of similarities between the attitudes of some Igbos on this forum and elsewhere similar to that of practitioners of one of the major religion associated with violence in this country. ! |

Sue her, simple and also encourage the police to charge her. Responsible for your actions and the consequence(s) |
Well serves them both right for them to realize that , you don't borrow or lend your gifts to natural ingrates and self serving green eyed homo sapiens. When these same people continued to fight in the face of intimidation and threat to their lives for the enthrone and swearing in of their Bros as the president, they weren't such threats and statements now when the issue is now about good reasoning governance and polity, that speaks truth about what is wrong with their bros and state and how to go about it, see what they are now getting. Same thing played itself during the war when WS was one of those who did something for the Eastern Borders and was detained by the FGN for that no one remembers but when he said nothing completely non insulting but rather redeeming of the potopoto being propagated and spewed in the literary world in 9ja concerning CA , all hell was let loose and the consistent inclination to social truth and justice doesn't count but sheer ethnic chauvinism and nepotism. We are watching o. |

I want to liken the actions and utterances of most Nigerian to that I observed with fowls way back. Whenever anyone amongst them, suffers from any brain issues or shows any sign of sickness ( epileptic or uncoordinated body movements) the other fowls around it will crowd on it , attack it by pecking on it till it dies. Guess that's what we are. Must continue to wish him bad and forget his contribution to the SE, or has any one castigating him not gone crazy and ballistic or egoistic at any point in our lives. mind y'all , if he's doing good, that becomes a reference point and a source of encouragement and motivation for others. |
I agree with you Tech guy A really annoying and instructive trend is on the rise theses days, people don't seem to want to discuss again, and before you tread 2 sentences down the conversation, insults and curses starts flowing. This shows nothing but lack of intelligence or acumen required for discussion. It is a trait seen in dictators which suggests that Nigerians in this age are not ready for Democracy ,infact majority of us are despots and dictators, even in this democracy ( 16 overideds 19 and recent RSHA issues ). Secondly when there is a public issue, discussions are digressed from "what" is being discussed or situation on hand to other peripherals that in truth has no bearing with the issue. This is the same tactics that happens in the country when whenever a scandal happens , there will be responses, before you know it, another spurious one will be deliberately exhumed just to distract attention from the main thing and on on and on. This same thing happen in discussions, the "koko" is not discussed and thought through but things that has no bearing with the issue. 5 people went against majority and impose themselves and we see nothing wrong in that and some will start talking about Ameachi not good not working as if that is the issue. The issue here is treason and those guys should've been tried. ARE WE REALLY DEMOCRATIC OR RIPE FOR DEMOCRACY ? |
