Politics / Re: Lai Mohammed Slams Twitter For Deleting Buhari's Tweet by Kenn55: 4:57pm On Jun 02, 2021
LegendHero:
FG have the right to defend themselves just like the citizens themselves reserve the right to report FG.

If I am the president, I won’t also sit back and do nothing when people start killing my policemen, burn federal institutions, and kill soldiers. No president, even in the USA will sit by and watch but since we are in Nigeria, anything goes for clout.

However, Buhari Tweet too is not that needed using that kind of language especially when the atmosphere is still tense for Biafra remembrance day.

So Twitter is Justified for deleting Buhari Tweet but that shouldn’t stop Buhari from defending his security forces and restoring normalcy. He should just extend the same to the bandits and herdsmen wreaking havoc.

OBJ ordered shoot at sight on OPC then even when they were his fellow Yorubas. So Buhari should do same on Fulani herdsmen, bandits, and Unknown gunmen too.

Exactly.

The whole problem is as a result of Buhari's nepotism. You look the other way while fulani herdsmen and bandits kill thousands and displace people in their land but use all your military might to crush agitators.

Boko haram has killed thousands of soldiers but you don't shoot on sight, you capture them, rehabilitate them and release them as repentant boko haram while you kill anyone suspected to be ipob even when they might not be.

The common denominator of all security problems all over the country is one word "fulani".

All these sugarcoating does not help.
Nigeria security situation escalated due to the insistence of fulanis to continue open grazing in every part of the country against the wishes of the majority of the people who have seen their farms destroyed and their loved ones killed.

This is the reason why Amotekun was birthed? To defend their land from fulani terrorists since the police and army are only interested in defending fulani to the detriment of others.

The stupid south east governors should have followed the south west lead in establishing a security that defends the east instead they were playing to the gallery and the vacuum now birthed ESN.

Immediately Buhari saw ESN formed to chase the herdsmen, he quickly mobilized and started killing them and they started revenge and this is how it escalated.
Right now, what we have is like cult groups FG/Army is Aye, UGM is Vikings, Bandits is Eiye all doing what cults know how to do best that is killing and revenge killing and the cycle continues.

Only if Buhari has listened and restricted open grazing to the north. There wouldn't have been need for Amotekun, ESN etc and we wouldn't see this escalation. Despite the ban of open grazing in many states, they are still there and police and army will never enforce it cos they serve the fulanis.
Look at how cows is gradually destroying Nigeria

You know nothing.

No pain, no gain. The poor ones will suffer some marginal pains now in exchange for future, long-term gains.

Have you ever heard of the concept of "Marginality/Marginalism" in Economics? It's probably too advanced for your dull, catarrh-filled brain.

The marginal pros of removing subsidy far outweigh the marginal cons.

Even the strongest of Buhari's critics accept that subsidy has to go. The economic team of the president which includes seasoned economists like Professor Soludo, Professor Doyin Salami and Birsmark Rewane, has recommended the removal of subsidy. Same as the IMF and world bank but your empty brain thinks otherwise.

Guy, what Nigeria needs now is not subsidy going. Subsidy shouldn't even be in the first place if we were not running this unproductive system of government. Subsidy is a symptom of a bad system.

Make no mistake, I don't fancy subsidy. Whether it goes or not in this current climate will make no positive difference to the common man. What will happen is that the FG and govs will see more money to loot and waste while citizens suffer more.

Reasonable Nigerians have been advising the government to cut down the overblown cost of government but they are not interested because they don't want to loose 1 naira.

Look at the last budget for a country in dire need of money, does it look like a country ready to make amends? If they can't do the little things to help the situation, do you think it will make a difference if they remove subsidy?

By the way, there have been partial subsidy removal in the last 4 years, what have they done with it?

The only solution for Nigeria is a complete restructuring of the country to spur productivity. With this, subsidy will die a natural death.

Subsidy removal or not does not affect me directly, I don't live in Nigeria. However, I am a human being and it pains me seeing people suffer for nothing while politicians enjoy.

A lot of Nairalanders and Nigerians at large are either too dumb or politically sentimental to know that subsidy favours the rich more.

Most of the idiots lamenting here don't even have cars and generators they fuel. Meanwhile, the wealthy ones out there who fuel their V8-engine cars and big generators with cheap fuel on a daily basis are indifferent.

Mama Kamoru in Ogbomosho who have little need for fuel is being denied basic infrastructures and social amenities because the government needs to subsidize fuel for Pocohantas, Ishilove, Dominique, Seun Osewa, Davido, Timaya, Saheed Osupa, Segun Agbaje, Jim Ovia and Femi Otedola.

The poor will no doubt bear some pains in the short run but the removal of subsidy will be of great benefits in the long run.

Subsidy needs to go!

I think you are the dumb one here.
The mama kamoru in ogbomosho does not enter public transport? If fuel price increase, will public transport not increase? Will prices of goods and services not increase? How Will life be for mama kamoru who is overstretched and already suffering with the increase in cost of living and reduced purchasing power?
One major problem in Nigeria is the absence of human feelings. A lot of leaders and people like you in Nigeria are very wicked.

For subsidy to go, there must first be a total restructuring of the country into regionalism and resource control. Every region should be independent and manage their resources. They can decide what to do with fuel as it soothes their own developmental goals and strategy.
Whether you remove subsidy or not,Nigeria in its present form is bleeped. The partial subsidy removal in the last 4 years, how did it help the people?

The only thing that can make your earnings in Europe to have value is only if you did not spend a penny there. If you are in Nigeria, you can feed yourself with at least #250 per meal; that means the naira you spend is strong.

Hmmmm, for those that have little children, the only way is to escape to another country. embarassed embarassed

For those who have been fanning the embers of war and secession, I beg you please stop. Abeg, biko.

If it happens, there would be so many splinter groups and uncountable interests that war would be inevitable. These might lead to genocide, with small small groups trying to control LGAs or States; Libya and South Sudan is a prime example. I pray we don' t get to that stage.

It is crystal clear Nigeria needs help in this area, owing to the fact that it was publicized globally that Nigeria begged the US to move it's Africa Mission base from Germany down to the theater of war.

I keep saying it; employ 3 million youths into the Armed Forces. Our Security forces are over stretched.

The problem with Nigeria is the absence of truth and justice. Every one knows Nigeria will not work in her present structure but because of greed and tribal considerations, nothing is being done about it.

What stops the leaders of calling a conference and reach a consensus with all groups in the country and create a new constitution that would be fair and balanced for everyone?

With the tribal make up of the country, the best structure would be a strong independent regional government and a weak center, the way it is in the UK with England, Scotland, Wales and NI.
How can you win the war with boko haram with free money from the Niger delta? If the north was prosecuting the war with money generated from the north, boko haram would have ended since.
If Nigeria and Nigerians want a better country, our conversation would be different from what it is now. The reality we are not yet ready ,instead we are trying to use the same strategy over and over again and expect a different outcome. That's stupidity.

Politics / Re: You Won’t Get Presidency By Threatening Secession, El-rufai Clears Igbo by Kenn55: 8:39pm On May 07, 2021
The question is what is the big deal about presidency? Who does the president benefit?
The people or the president himself?

What has the north benefited from having the presidency apart from protecting bandits and terrorists? Even at that who is suffering it more?

The Igbos will suffer more if they have the presidency cos the Igbo president will neglect his region and try to placate others who will still never love and accept him, example GEJ.

In fact, the Igbo politicians clamoring for presidency and El rufai are all stupid. Who has the president helped since creation of this good for nothing country?

What any right thinking Nigerian apart from the northerners should be interested in now should be either restructuring or break up and not presidency. Is it a country Buhari has finished kpata kpata someone wants to rule? Where will that person start from?
Except the person's interest is just in looting money.

Meanwhile the 3 friends I'm referring to are all doing well here and they even send money to their family in Canada from Nigeria.
The mean aim of creating the post is to know why these people can not get same job they are doing here in Canada and remain there with their family.
What you don't know is beyond you my brother

Guy, you disturb yourself for nothing.
First of all, there is no where in the world where there is 0% unemployment rate. However, there is a difference between a place with 5% unemployment rate with one with 20% unemployment rate.

Even in IT which is the hottest sector in the world right now, it doesn't have a 100% employment rate. This means there are still some unemployed IT gurus out there.

Secondly, as our faces are different so also our lifestyle choices, values and what we hold dear different. So, that someone came back to Nigeria after getting PR is no big deal.

Your PR card is for 5 years and you need to live in Canada for 2 out of that 5 years to renew it.

Some people go back to Nigeria, work for 2 more years in Nigeria before relocating permanently.

Someone I know went back to Nigeria. The reason is that he figured that he needs a particular certification to get the kind of job he wants in Canada so instead of staying in Canada, he decided to continue his good job in Nigeria and prepare and write the exam from Nigeria. He left his family in Canada so has no disturbance in Nigeria. His mission is to get the certification in a year and get back to Canada finally.

So if you are trying to make your judgment based on someone who got PR and came back to Nigeria, I'm afraid you are on a long thing because you may not know the story behind the story

Nigerians are the most patriotic people in the world. Do you think it is easy to suffer and smile?
No other country in the world at least outside of Africa will put up with what Nigerians pass through on daily basis and not burn down the country.
The country where I live will not take even one quarter of what Nigerians endure.
Even the no 1 man in Nigeria is chilling in another man's country yet Nigerians are not bothered.
In fact if you see a Nigerian, you should hail him rather than abuse him, people in Nigeria are trying.

many people are doing well here more than most people abroad , forget what you read on internet

Anyway, you are partly right. Doing well is relative. In Nigeria, it could mean living in a mansion with 10ft high fence, on top of the fence, you have broken bottles, nails, barb wires, electric fencing etc and a big gate and dogs and gateman all in a bid to feel safe grin while abroad, it could mean living in a house without fence, security dog, gateman and yet feel safe.

Did Larry King get sick in Nigeria?.... did his money save him? ... does everyone that get sick in Nigeria die?.... even those without money? .... how about those people getting sick in Europe and the USA with COVID-19.... don't they have money and are dying? Shouldn't it be Just pray, you are not sick in Europe then you know your money can't save you? Negativity too much.

The biggest problem I will have in moving back is the people..... bad belle people wayyyyy too many.

Nigeria as a country will always breed wicked people and it is not surprising. What do you expect?
These are people who ply the worst roads humanity have ever seen all their life, people who sleep in darkness from birth to death, people who fetch water in jerry cans, they go to farm, they are butchered both the local, state and federal govt don't care, nobody is arrested, nobody is prosecuted, some have become refugees in their own homeland. The life of the lower class in Nigeria is so frustrating and this has bred mass wickedness in the country.
What Nigeria has indirectly told the people is that you must get money by all means to live a reasonable life or just go and die. I think there is a correlation between frustrations Nigerians experience on daily basis to bad belle.

How are you sure he does not tell Buhari the truth privately? As far as I know, Amaechi has done well with his ministerial portfolio. Improving our transport options and infrastructure is first and foremost the remit of his job.

You and other Nigerians are not there with them.privately so why do you choose to believe Ameachi cannot/does not tell Buhari the truth? Have you all considered that Buhari may just not be interested in anyone's opinion and is only focused on his own agenda?

Amaechi gave the right and decorous response fitting of his office as a Minister of Transport in the present APC ruling Government.

Anyone who is mad he is not uppercutting PMB in public is simply unreasonable. It is not done like that anywhere.

Bros, there is no right or wrong here, it is a matter of conscience. For someone like me, i can't close my eyes to evil on the alter of being in government, my conscience will not allow me. We are talking of human lives here. Have we lost our humanity? Of what use is holding on to power when your country men are dieing needlessly, you look the other way just because you do not want to offend anyone for your own benefit. It is because people like him and other southern politicians are silent that is why the fulani's are very comfortable doing what they are doing

There is no better time to show courage than when it has become issue of life and death of the people you represent. People of good conscience need to speak up now and take a stand today not tomorrow. The highest that would happen is that you are sacked. We all saw how some Trump's own appointees disagreed and countered him openly about the election. He fired the homeland security chief because he countered him on the election, William Barr had to resign because he disagreed with him etc.

Anyway, i may be wrong sha. Probably i am using myself to judge others who have sold their conscience to the devil himself. We should all know that people who see evil and keep quiet are as guilty as people who are commitng the evil. Thank you
