studentofTruth: I think you misunderstood the OP. Those things you mentioned: satisfaction, pleasure, fulfilment etc, are part of the value (categorized under intangible value).
As regards cars, someone may be earning #1-2m per month and still decide not to get a car because he doesn't need it — maybe his job doesn't require him moving about or he's in a place where the public transportation system is very comfortable and easy. Very good! If then 600k phone can give someone intangible value, why is the OP making it seem like those who buy such are irrational? Some people buy iPhone 11 cos of the camera. To them, the pleasure of taking super amazing pictures with the phone justified the cost of it cos to them, the cost isn't a big deal. |

GeoAfrikana: Thanks for your contribution bro. According to you, if I get you right, the fact that you can afford it is enough justification.
I don't believe this is rational. A rational human being spends on what adds value/benefit to his life. The point in bold isn't complete. A rational human being can also spend money on what gives them satisfaction, pleasure, fulfilment etc. Some people's happiness and fulfilment per day is worth hundreds of thousands of Naira, and if a 600k phone can give them that fulfilment, they will buy it. Imagine your monthly earning is ₦2m or more, will you consider it wasteful buying a phone of ₦600k? Even with your alms giving, a time comes when you feel like, mehn I gotta enjoy this money a little otherwise you live your entire life working only for others to enjoy. You question is beyond phones. It basically applies to everything: cars, clothes, houses etc. Your income determines what you consider expensive and at the same time valuable. To someone who earns ₦100k per month, a car of ₦5m will be too expensive while to the guy who earns ₦5m per month, a car of ₦5m will be below his status. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which is still very clean and working perfectly fine, but right from the time I bought it 2 years ago, I was determined that my next phone would be Galaxy Note 10. In the next couple of weeks, I will take delivery of a Note 10+. Will you then consider my purchase of the phone and say I am irrational when I know I can afford it, I'm not extravagant by any chance, and I've also not been terrible with respect to helping people, even strangers? |

veeceesynergy: Did u knw dat Pastor Paul Enenche and Biodun hv been 'arc enemies' ever since Biodun came to Abuja and started booming ? I'm sure u 're surprised. Did u knw dat House on d Rock has been fingered in dis whole crisis? U 're shocked again? Just chill and wait for A lot dat will be exposed. Did u knw dat Bioduns church in abj is only about 11 yrs. His congregation keeps growing everyday. May be u need to visit his church, u may begin to see some reasons why they envy him. The facility if House on d Rock in Abuja isn't bigger and more expensive dat COZA. Find out. As at wen Coza came onto Abj in 2008, House and d Rock and Dunamis u mentioned had been in Abu for years, but today, they claim he's converting their members. Judge Kavanaugh had about 4 women accuse him of sexuality wen he was nominated for SUPREME court in USA. At d end of it all, all d 4 women apologised dat it was a frame up. Pray not to be conspired against. Bros, Enenche has no reason to be envious of Biodun. Enenche has far more members. His church is far bigger and more expensive. Enenche's congregation may be more of the average Abuja dwellers and those who need divine intervention in several areas of their lives irrespective of their social status while Biodun's congregation are more of young people who are interested in swag and effizy. Biodun cannot convert Enenche's members. That's impossible. As for HOTR, their Abuja church isn't their HQ yet they still have an amazing building (especially that 7 storey block of offices). I know the church hall itself is primitive, but they have quite a lot of members. COZA church is only expensive. They spent so much money on that structure just for the hype, but it isn't even that capacitous. COZA has only 4 branches in Nigeria. The other churches you mentioned have much more branches and more members generally. There's no reason for him to be envied. You said he's new in Abuja and taking their members, is he also new in ministry? He's been in ministry for 20years so he isn't really a young pastor for people to start getting jealous of his so called progress. Now let me ask you, why is it only him that they are all ganging up against? How many times in the past has any pastor been framed up with this kind of story? What about Ese Walters? Is she also part of the plan? Yes, hers wasn't a rape accusation, but does her story portray your pastor in good light? Did he still give the robust response? Oyedepo is far bigger than Biodun will likely ever be in this lifetime. Same with Adeboye. Why aren't they also being framed up? Think bro, think. Stop worshipping man. I'm not keen on the man being brought down. I even personally wish they can settle the issues behind closed doors and stop bringing shame to the body of Christ. Your pastor needs to change. I don't believe he's innocent of the accusations of sexual impropriety. |

WHO IS FUNDING THE 'FIGHT'. THE UNIFORMS, HIRING OF PROTESTERS ETC, WHO FUNDED ? It's just dat d matter has to do with a pastor, many things will never be made public, but d few dat will be seen will shock Nigerians. Why him? Is he the most successful pastor even in Abuja? Enenche is more popular and has more members in Abuja. Even House on the Rock has more members and a bigger facility in Abuja. Why only Biodun? |

God will judge you and every other person that ever support Jonathan to win that 2015 election. Evil person You just can't reason well, honestly. The rep just told Nigerians that Boko Haram are holding 8 out of 10 LGAs in Northern Borno (we don't yet know about Central and Southern Borno), and you're talking about showing you videos. If they are controlling the LGs, is it killing people at will that they can't do? In Jonathan's time, they were killing more of villagers. Now, their focus is on the military personnel. More military personnel died between 2015 and 2019 than in any other 4 year period before then. And talking about fighting the terrorists, the real victory of the Nigerian military against them started in 2015 before Buhari took over. |

Christopherrrr: Since you are Igbo and Anambra to be precise, Bro I'll advice now never to throw caution in the air regarding issues like. You can only do away with it if your community doesn't regards such belief. Aside that, even if you are beyond this planet with your wife, your family down here will be victimized. Please endeavour to ask questions when the time comes. #MyAdvice. I really feel for you. I mean, you're obviously very smart and you sound smart too. I read the post expecting to see numerous grammatical blunders after your warning, but I could only see a well-articulated piece. Well done. Unfortunately, I really don't have any tangible advice to give you. I only came to encourage you. You understand the consequences of marrying an Osu quite well. I come from Anambra State, and osu isn't a term that is common in the part of the state I come from. As a matter of fact, I personally don't know any family that is regarded as osus. I think it's long been abolished from my part of Igbo land. I really can feel you when you described your love for your girl. That's exactly how I feel about my fiancee. I can't imagine anybody telling me we can't get married for any reason. They should better disown me, cos it will be a disaster for me to lose her. But you know what, I lost someone before I could gain her. I lost another great girl who seemed like a perfect match for me when we dated for 3½ years. For some not-too-serious issues, we had a break up. I thought I was never going to find a good girl again until I met my fiancee who turned out to be the best choice I could ever have made. Today, I am very grateful to God for that initial break up. What I am saying in summary is that since you have strong doubts, it's better not to go ahead, despite that you love her so much. When crises start (and every marriage faces crises), it may be difficult for you to withstand it especially when the support of your family isn't there. |

10 years of marriage and your wife still looks really good to 100% is rare. You need to ask God for forgiveness because you dont deserve what you have.
Even if your wife wants to play around or go back in shape, it should motivate you to join her in the Gym, get yourself in shape too. Go out with her to events, look like a power couple.
You guys always admire Beyonce when you see her. You think it was by Juju she maintained her figure after 2 kids, imagine if she was with Men like you?
What makes you think she doesnt want to take care of your children.
why don't you join her in looking good? Since you're obviously young and unmarried, I don't expect you to understand. People like you think if you marry a beautiful wife, you will be happy for the rest of your life. I can tell you categorically that humility, submission, being warm and hospitable trump beauty in making a marriage last. No matter how beautiful your wife is, within a few years, you will get used to that beautiful face and figure and it won't move you much again. You get to see the personality deep inside and if that personality is disgusting, you are doomed. |
Politics › Re: Ezeife: Igbos Will Support IPOB In 2023 If Denied Presidency by Kennydoc(m): 3:23pm On Sep 23, 2019 |
LegendHero: This is what I keep talking about you guys. You can’t blackmail Yorubas into supporting you, all this appeal to pity won’t work bro.
Firstly, yoruba were not given presidency on a platter of gold in 1999. PDP primary was contested among southerners in the Jos convention. Ekwueme contested against OBJ, He was defeated by Obasanjo simply because the northerners and middle belt caucus voted OBJ.
Also, you should remember the SW won the 1993 presidential election before annulling it. The NADECO guys fought the government to a halt and that made the northerners especially Babangida and his caucus to concede the ticket to OBJ.
The north gave it to OBJ and not the Igbos. Infact the Igbo delegate in the jos convention voted for Ekwueme.
Now back to the topic, for the Yorubas to support Igbos, you guys need to stop seeing the Yorubas as the betrayals of the southern cause and start looking at your own past attrocities to the south too.
You started betraying the south first, you sold the south to the northerners first by the action of Azikwe.
You did it during Shagari period also with Ekwueme. You did it with Sylvester Ugoh and yoga against Abiola.
Yoruba voted against the south only once and that’s in 2015. My point is simply that other zones conceded the ticket to Yorubas in 1999, and that made it possible for them. Yes, Igbos also contested because in all fairness, Igbos also deserved the right to go for the presidency. Obj had ruled Nigeria for 3 years before 1999, how many years have Igbos ruled Nigeria since independence? Whether in 1999 or 2023, any southern zone that must produce the president must need the support of the North. Even you guys are solely banking on the North to hand power over to you in 2023. Your confidence is based on your alliance with the North in APC. If the North decides to fight for it again in 2023, we can never have a Yoruba president. It's not only Igbos that see Yorubas as betrayers of the Southern cause. Your fellow Yorubas see you as so. How do I know this? I simply consider the voting patterns in 2015 and 2019. If in 2015, 45% of your people voted along with the rest of the South and in 2019, 47% voted likewise, it means your own people see you as betrayers or you see them as betrayers. Either way, your condemnation is in-house. |

Can we say the SE’ners are cowards that can’t even ask for presidency under PDP? Abi it’s just that they are useful tool by the Northerners in PDP to use to their advantage? Did the Yorubas seek to contest for presidency in 1999 before it was zoned to them? Yoruba presidency was only possible then because both parties presented Yoruba candidates, and PDP only presented Yoruba not because they were strong in the party, but simply to compensate them for 1993. |

See photos below...
Source: https://ngg.ng/2019/09/18/ganduje-commission-the-biggest-filling-station-in-nigeria-with-almost-200-staffs/ Is it based on the number of pumps or based on number of toilets that you are rating it the biggest filling station in Nigeria? There is an NNPC filling station along Kubwa Expressway close to Katampe junction in Abuja which has 100 pumps. That should be the biggest filling station in Nigeria. |
