In fact, they retaliated when the people in that community killed 6 Fulani men.
You people lie too much and I don't know why.
You don't know your own history so why expect you not to be clueless about other people's history. Ordinary reading, you can't read. Prof Utomi spoke the truth and I’m impressed with his courage. It takes a lot of courage to speak up against bigotry at this point in time when the easiest thing to do is to join the anti Fulani herd. We need more men of good conscience to speak up. We should condemn criminality and stop creating ethnic tension. Security agencies should up their game and secure the country from all forms of criminal activities. That's what everybody is doing, but just that some people choose to call a spade a spade. People like you prefer to not to point fingers even if more of your kinsmen will be killed. Fulani herdsmen are causing the killing, so we should call them out and ask the government to stop them. Those that are calling them out don't hate Fulanis generally. We only hate the atrocities of the herdsmen. |

That she loved him doesn't mean she wanted to have sex with him, especially since she was a virgin. She might have been infatuated with him and always wanted to be around him, but that doesn't mean she wanted to have sex with him. I've been infatuated with some girls in the past, but I never imagined having sex with them. If because of their closeness, he coerced her into having sex with him against her will (which is very likely what happened, if your account is to be taken as true), then it will still be counted as rape, whether she enjoyed that sexual experience or not. Let's even imagine that they were alone and suddenly started kissing and she was enjoying the kissing, then suddenly, he started undressing her. If she told him to stop at any point between that time up till when he penetrated her, it is still a rape. How many virgin girls even have their first sexual intercourse willingly as teenagers? Many are coerced or forced into it, but because it often happens with the people they are going out with, they tend to accept it. |

laudate: No sir. You are wrong. The fact that a HIV patient is on ARV medication, does not mean his viral load is undetectable. It takes a while before this happens. In some people it could take several months or even years before this happens, after they start their treatment.
The patient will have to be highly disciplined in following a strict drug regimen, and would have to also show up for regular tests in the hospital, to monitor his CD4 count, etc.
So even while taking drugs, the HIV patient can still infect his non-HIV partner, if he does not take adequate precautions.
I have seen HIV patients coming late to the hospital, and they still develop complications like TB and other things, simply because they presented late, or were not compliant with their drug regimen, or those ARV drugs had side effects that caused unforeseen severe reactions in their body. The doctors then conduct more tests, before changing their drug combination.
I wonder, o! Can you imagine what he is saying.. .. Thank you very much for your apt reply to him. It was a simple message I wanted to pass across to him, and he started talking rubbish whether I'm a doctor a not. |

charliejose: Deciding to infect people or not is dependent on the patient - that we can't control. However, it doesn't give anyone the right to stigmatize the many other innocent patients that go for treatment because they really care about their lives - of which is the basis of our argument to start with. You should focus your energy more on the people that don't even know their statuses but unknowningly spread the disease and those not on treatments but knowingly spread the disease - they are the main reason for the increase in infections.
I never said the HAART compromises the immune system. What I said was that the patient's immunity is usually compromised before or just after starting their treatments, and gets better as they continue taking their drugs.
Your comments are evident enough that you are not a doctor. So, it's not my opinion, it's a fact.
Do have a good evening as I won't comment on this again. Maybe you're a clinical student or a newly graduated doctor (that's if you have anything to do with medical training at all), and that's why you feel you've arrived. You make me laugh. What do you know about medicine? Do you really want us to discuss clinical medicine here? Nonsense! I pointed out something to you and you're talking rubbish. You said people on HAART have undetectable viral load, and I asked you if it happens immediately. Wasn't it obvious to you what I was driving at? That somebody has been started on HAART doesn't mean they are safe or that they will practice safe sex. By the way, there are factors that determine if people will achieve undetectable viral load, and drug adherence is one of them. The slapping senator was said to have infected his wife while receiving treatment, yet his wife didn't know he was positive. There are many men who get diagnosed and refuse to disclose their status to their spouses and concubines. It's a very common thing seen in PEPFAR clinics. I was never attempting to condone the nurse's post, cos I don't believe in posting things that happen at work on social media. Even though she intended to remind people that they should be very careful in their sexual activities, as many of the PLWH look healthy physically, she didn't need to talk about her patients. |

charliejose: You have a "doc" to your moniker, but I should believe you added that for fun... That's by the way. People that are actively receiving these treatments are even advised to abstain from unprotected sex so as to avoid re-infection or even contracting resistant strains of the virus - they are also at greater risk of contracting other diseases too as their immune system is compromised usually at the beginning of treatment. So, a greater percentage of those that infect people for revenge or whatever are the ones not on treatment. So, worry more about sensitization of people going for test and leave these people going for their treatments alone. Bro, let's be realistic here. Some newly infected HIV people go on revenge transmission of the virus. They are counselled against it, but how many heed the counsel? Even simple adherence to the medications is a difficult thing for some. Yes, they can contract more virulent or even drug resistant strains of the virus if they don't protect themselves, but does it really sink? Isn't that part of the reasons why some people still die of AIDS within a few years of diagnosis of HIV, despite the availability of HAART everywhere? It's not HAART that weakens the immune system, HIV does. What happens is that some people's immune system (CD4 cells) fail to recover even years after commencement of HAART. As for the 'doc' in my moniker, your opinion doesn't matter. You're free to think whatever you like, as I don't care. |
Health › Re: Rivers State Nurse Talks About Her HIV Patients, Nigerians Call For Her Sack by Kennydoc(m): 8:27pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
charliejose: Research shows that people typically get to undetectable viral load in 6 months to a year after commencing treatment. So what will happen to those who have sex with them within those 6 months to one year? Mind you that some of these people deliberately want to infect others, cos they feel that someone gave it to them. That is when you see some of them sleeping with at least one new person every week. |

charliejose: Verbose, yet reeks of ignorance. HIV positive patients that are steadily on Anti-retroviral therapy can't transmit the virus because of their undectable viral load. The real people spreading the virus are the lots of you that don't know your HIV status, talk more of starting treatment. So, this mistake of a nurse should have channelled her energy to sensitizing people to go for a test not stigmatizing innocent people that go for treatment because they care about their lives and that of others. So once a HIV patient is started on HAART, their viral load will immediately become undetectable? |

NEWSFLASH.....Your land is already donated because the herders and grazers are already herding and grazing on your land free of charge and you can not do anything about it.
The FG is asking you to tap into a multi billion naira jobs and animal husbandry program to create jobs and make serious money off the same grazing that they are already doing on your land for free.
They graze on your land for free, they sell the cows back to you, make billions from the cows you slaughter and eat everyday, they return the money back to their states while you end up with nothing.
The smart leaders and state will adopt either RUGA or NLTP and end up with multi billion naira livestock industry with animal clinics, abattoir, meant and meat product processing and packaging plant, animal tannery and export facilities. My Advice for the Interview - Let people understand the ill happened when you began the ministry and still had your weaknesses - Stress that it was consensual and not rape - Indicate you have apologized to your wife, family and anyone who sees you as a mentor - Apologize to Busola and any other person. Let the world know that you are willing to talk to anyone whom has been hurt by you in the past and make amends - Let people understand that Busola is not telling the entire truth - Stress again that you have never raped and will never rape. - Say you are still on a sabbatical off the ministry for a few months and will bounce back able to lead COZA better.
Sex scandals have been posed to many great men. Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, David in the Bible, etc. The best reaction is not denial or aggression. Apologize for your weaknesses and bounce back stronger. Wish him the best.

Why is it that only you people make a bid deal over everything in Nigeria?
What is your damn problem? Deomelo, Fulanis can no longer peacefully co-habit with any ethnic group in the Southern part of Nigeria. Ever before 2015 when Fulani herdsmen became the 4th most deadly terrorist group in the world up till this time that they're probably the most deadly group, Nigerians in most states of the federation haven't had peace because of herdsmen. No ethnic group wants to co-habit with them. Moreover, these guys go about destroying the crops and means of livelihood of farmers all over the nation because their cattle have to graze. Why can't they take their cattle to graze only in uncultivated lands? Why deliberately enter farmlands and destroy crops? The people of Anioma in Delta State can no longer do their farming in peace simply cos the Fulani herdsmen use their cattle to destroy crops, and go ahead and kill anybody that dares to challenge them. They are now even involved in kidnapping for ransom and raping women. The same thing is happening in many states of the federation. Is it fair? I thank God the agitation isn't only coming from the South East, otherwise you guys would have called us bigots and haters of the North. The agitation is from the whole South plus Middle Belt.
