festacman:Which PDP? Even Obj had much better respect than Buhari. It was the successive military governments that destroyed Nigeria. The country failed to grow and advance with other nations. It's akin to someone who remains in primary school while his mates progress to the University. Even though he had equal respect with them at the beginning, he would later face disdain from them. |
Shey Fr. Mbaka said Peter Obi is stingy? Isn't he the same person mentioned in this article? |
This particular rail line had been completed long before Jonathan sef. It was not put into use because the primary reason why it was initiated was for freight between Ajaokuta steel plant and Warri plant and seaport. Buhari's government decided to turn it to passenger rail, which isn't a bad thing actually. The only thing this government is having to do is building rail stations. Kaduna to Abuja rail line was finished before Jonathan handed over. Buhari only had to complete the rail stations. Abuja metro rail was also nearly finished before handover. PH and Abuja International terminals were completely paid for before handover. If you went to Abuja Airport as at 2015, you would have seen the new Abuja terminal already being constructed. If Jonathan had remained in power, he would have commissioned these projects except for this Itakpe - Aladja rail line, mainly because PDP decided to stick to the original plan for that rail line, and since Ajaokuta plant hasn't come to life, the rail line remains useless (based on it's original purpose). kolaaderin:You didn't have pictures during Jonathan's government cos he didn't run a government of propaganda. APC runs a government of propaganda, and that's why they would commission a new terminal that wasn't even ready just for political campaign purposes. Even this rail line commissioning is also simply for campaign purposes, otherwise you ask yourself how many passengers commute between Aladja and Itakpe for this rail line to have been a priority? Why the rail line links 2 unpopular towns is because it's not originally for passenger purposes. If it was, it would have been built to link 2 popular and highly populated towns or cities (just like the Abuja - Kaduna standard gauge built by Jonathan or the Lagos - Ibadan standard gauge being built by Buhari). |
kolaaderin:Oga, PDP built these infrastructures from the scratch. Did you read that the rail line was originally built for freight? Jonathan stuck to the original plan, but Buhari quickly ran and commissioned it for campaign purposes. We all saw how the PH terminal has not been opened up for use cos Buhari's government quickly commissioned it for campaign. The more APC commissions these projects, the more they are telling Nigeria that the past PDP government (especially Jonathan's government) tried to move Nigeria forward infrastructurally. |
gr8tone:The people that build those churches with the speed of light are not the people in power. Churches are far more efficient than the government. Lease the country to Oyedepo for 4 years and see massive transformation in every sector of the country. |
Kingsleydr:The luckiest folks are those who sold theirs when the price hit almost $20k, especially if they bought it cheap. Thank God I suppressed the urge to consider that 'investment'. I never believed it was sustainable. |
Kharol1234:Exactly! He's an APC prophet. He could only see the victory of APC contestants. To even add Nsima Ekere's name among those who will have an easy ride back to the government house says it all. |
Trouble1:Read the story again. They reduced the cost of registration of businesses from 10k to 5k between October and December which led to that increase. Anybody can register a business. It's just to make it official. You don't even need to have an outfit to register a business. Businesses that are only getting registered cos of 5k discount in cost of registration aren't qualified to be called businesses. No economy can be sustained on such so called businesses. |
Anything for campaign. How many christmases has he celebrated? How many times has he sang Christmas song? |
Godblesspmb:A PDP governor of Akwa Ibom built it. |
kotv:I agree with you 100%. It's a very sad reality. |
Godblesspmb:Let's wait and see the damage he and Buhari will do between next year and 2023, that will show us if he will have the courage to contest in 2023. Besides, the cabal don't like him. He's too serious minded for them. He won't co-operate. Moreover, I don't know if the Northern elite will want to have a pastor as the president of Nigeria. By 2023 (if Buhari wins next year), the north would have ruled for 10years since 1999 while the South would have ruled for 14 years (approximately). The northerers may want the equation to be balanced first before returning power to the south. Let's not assume all northerners love Buhari. Osinbajo's loyalty to Buhari means nothing to millions of northerners opposed to Buhari's government. |
kotv:The north is the winner finally. I wish the entire South had been united right since independence, Nigeria would have been one of the greatest nations on earth by today. |
Melison:A northerner will still contest in 2023, just the same way southerners are contesting now even though it is believed the north should rule between next year and 2023. Without southern unity, the presidency will remain in the north. Igbos will rather vote a northerner in 2023 than for a Yoruba to rule. |
Guestlander:Are there no Igbos in APC? Did PDP not almost choose a Yoruba VP candidate? Akinwunmi Adesina was strongly considered for the post and there wasn't much noise. Even Yorubas contested for PDP chairman before Secondus won it. |
tukopy:Well, ur message passed a not-so-correct information across. When you said they demolished the first bridge (built infront of UNIBEN), built a new one infront of UBTH and demolished it again later before building this new one, it passes the wrong info across. The first bridge being an iron structure made a whole lot of difference cos that what the only reason why it was removed in the first place. It was fixed infront of UNIBEN but nobody was using it. Those years, I never saw anybody on it. They dismantled it and re-fixed it infront of UBTH thinking the patients would start using it, but still nobody did. If that first bridge was built like this, it wouldn't have been taken down. Another thing you should bear in mind is that that expressway infront of UNIBEN and UBTH has been expanded. The work was done during Oshiomhole's tenure. Before then, it was that tiny dual carriage. Now, it's been expanded. Traffic moves there at a faster speed now than in the days of the old bridge. Chances of accidents are higher now. As a matter of fact, a number of UNIBEN students have been killed there in the past few years. It was because of those recent accidents that this new bridge was built. |
Tamarapetty:He no get bea bea. |
aminulive:People that know Buhari closely like this man and his wife are rejecting his government, yet some ignorant folks insist on foisting him on Nigerians for another 4 years because of their selfish interest. Shame! |
BIGDADDY000:Most of the Yorubas supporting Buhari are doing that cos of Osinbajo and power returning to the SW, and I think it's very sad. They feel we can manage another 4 years under Buhari and then have the presidency return to the SW. I can understand the support of Northerners for Buhari. Buhari is more likely to protect Northern interest, is a closet jihadist and Islamic fundamentalist, so they like him a lot. Yorubas on the other hand are very much enlightened. They understand what it means for a country to be making progress, so their queueing up behind Buhari is disappointing, to say the least. |
PureMe01:In Nigeria, people die from preventable causes but we say it's their time. How come those same things don't kill people in the developed world? Even when people die from accidents on bad roads that could have been fixed by the government, we still say it's their time. |
tukopy:The old one was a metallic (iron) structure and that's why they could easily dismantle it and fix it in another location. You can't do such with this new and concrete one. |
anonymous96:They are not signs of development. They are not even for effizy. They are built when needed simply for safety. If there is a busy highway/motorway that people have need to cross frequently, then there should be a pedestrian bridge there. You won't likely find them on street roads and roads with multiple pedestrian crossings in most parts of the world. |
Prompto:Stop being silly! There are pedestrian bridges in Onitsha, Awka, Enugu, Abakaliki, Owerri etc. |
basilo101:Inasmuch as I'm not a supporter of APC, I think you're indicting yourself by this statement. Which party has Kogi been voting for prior to 2015? Do you think that road suddenly got bad between 2015 and now? The fact that Benin to Lokoja highway is still single carriage and is in a very bad shape today is a proof of failure of all past PDP governments plus the present APC government. It's a proof of how messed up Nigeria as a country is. |
gidgiddy:An Igbo man is the first black Senator in Italy. |
senatordave1:This ur logic get as e be o. We confirmed that ONE of Buhari's supporters is Igbo, and you're saying that it shows MANY Igbos are for Buhari. ![]() Anyway, it's no big deal. There are many Yorubas who support Atiku today. There are many Hausa/Fulanis (northerners generally) who equally support Atiku, so Buhari should have Igbo supporters. As hated as Jonathan was in the north in 2015, he still won some votes there. |
Femolacaster:The guy is really Igbo? |
GavelSlam:For how long is that going to happen? |
ednut1:Exactly! These days, most people simply do transfers between UK accounts and Nigerians accounts. If I want to sell pounds for example, I will transfer it from my UK account to that of a Nigerian who will thus transfer Naira from his Nigerian account to mine. Such transactions cannot be captured by all these analysis, and there are billions of Naira being transferred annually through means like this. It's not limited to the UK, it happens everywhere. |
SingleWahala:I was also confused initially... They were standing on an elevated concrete pavement. |
wakaman:It's a town hall meeting not an outdoor campaign rally. Moreover, you can see that the hall was filled up. You couldn't have had more people in that hall cos there wouldn't be any space for them to sit. Buhari and Osinbajo had town hall meetings in 2014/2015, and that's the kind of crowd recorded in the meetings. |
davodyguy:Women are to be trampled upon and subdued in Islam. They don't have equal rights with men. |
