@ OP, y was the man blaming igbos for causing the war without blaming Awolowo and the rest of Nigerian tribalists for what they did to Igbo after the war? This country should divide biko, u go fear forming alliance with cowardly chameleons. I saw what later came out of the alliance btw ojukwu. and awolowo. |
cKaiser: The lies and half truth again. Mr Douglas didnt explain to us what the Biafrans troops were looking for In Yoruba territory when they could have attacked the North they had a problem with.Where was the seat of the then FG of Nigeria? Lagos. where was the FG fighting Biafra from? Lagos. |
abagoro: And you expect all the roads in Orlu to be 100% complete within 1 and half years. I've not been to Imo State for about 6 months now but most roads in Orlu were 80% complete when I went there last. I believe that they should be completed by middle of next year. Infact by middle of 2014 many of the roads started by Rochas would be completed or nearing completion. Rochas remains the best politician and successful Governor to come out of Igboland hands down and the only close competitor is Ngige. Chime is an achiever but not a politician. Akwa-Ibom as at 2009 which was Akpabio's 2nd year with high allocation and reputable Julius Berger had not commissioned anything. In fact the Governor was even pelted with sachet water. But don't u think we need achivers other than politicians? |
timpaker:how can ur family be taking these backward decisions on u? Arent there non cultists at Ekpoma and port harcourt |
ezeagu: Before we continue, how would you say the words 'prose', 'conjunction', and 'etymology' in Igbo? I want words that are used commonly.Lolz. Conjunction- Njiko Etymology - is a technical term, hence will be known by experts. Prose - Can't remember. ? Edemede I can remember words for drama and poetry |
@Henry, I went there two months ago and I saw the new terminal has been built up, far from the foundation level but not yet roofed and all that. If they continue with that pace, I feel the building shd be looking more like it by now. I will still go and confirm. And yes, the flights are real tho I don't have pictures. And u are right, that project had to be completed bfr 2015 or else, till another 16 yrs when the ministerial post will rotate back to the east. Dat one go be fukc up. |
Genevive kwa? OP definitely has a different meaning to ' humble |
I stayed at hone for 2 months after sec sch. |
fummy love: . They are always light in completion, just imagine them in back that is when u will realize they are not even fine, no shape, no common sense, too arrogant, very disrespectful.they are still finer |
Fussbot: simply because dia mama no understand english for village, and they cant marry sm1 dia mama cant communicate with..shikena..Ha erichago nu gi nah, na-enyezi gi flimsy excuse |
Phder: Normally, it's supposed to be a two-way thing, but it's not. Probably because Igbo men refuse to grow out of their hatred for Yoruba's (Which I doubt because they accept Yoruba's hands in marriage to their daughters). Another reason might be because Igbo men are not as educated as Yoruba, (they're the business type) which makes it difficult to meet a Yoruba women that would go out with them (maybe).so, being a business type equates to being uneducated? No wonder u ppl are ........ |
tonnieblaise: not really..m actually after dose pple dat says keshi is too bias wit his selectionsNonsense. its this quota rubbish that made Super Eagles loose glory after 96. Now the Igbo are back again and doing well, we shd still go back to that nonsense. abeg |
^^^Given the unique position Lagos has in Nigeria, any moro/n could govern that state and make some kind of impression! Fact of the matter is both subjects wouldn't be in the running for sainthood anytime soon, so the sooner you accept this the better!
its even amazing that the Yoruba contribution into making Lagos that successful is even minute. Till they gather the liver to talk abt Ekiti, Oyo, osun, they will continue to talk on their own. the next thing, they will release GDP figures generated by non indigenes. mtchew |
obitwo: Tinubu denied owning the airline and Slok is a dead conglomerate running on public funds and generating nothingOUK that made his first dough from palm oil business, shuttling BTW Abia and Maiduguri during his youth. From there he got money to diversify into all these biz, he didn't know the govt, govt didn't know him. that is the person that u label biz acumen - zero. Can u or any Yoruba do that? who told u the guy didn't have money ab ignitio? OUK that was worth more dan 10b naira bfr 1999, donated money for PDP formation and personally donated money for OBJ candidature. meanwhile, ur Yoruba brother, Obj went into power with a leaky pocket and came down with what can feed generations. As if that's not enough, he wanted a third term. Parasites. |
Show mw where any Igbo has called him a saint! No one has any illusions about him; unlike your Asiwaju that you guys elevate to the level of a sage.......a political leader! Besides, the attention he (Tinubu) gets stems from the fact that he was a governor of Lagos......Nigerias economic/commercial capital in which we all have a stake in, and where we all pay our taxes! Any Yoruba that has lived and worked in Abia is free to have and voice an opinion on OUK as well!
+ 1 million likes. No mind them |
Jazz247: Men who are ethnic jingoist do not always have successful marriage because they do not explore other tribes in search of a good wife.If u are dating a lady with good attributes ,and she's your best friend and soulmate ,no matter where she comes from, commonsense should take over when taking such vital decision.OK Nah. the last tym I checked, Igbo men have the most stable marriages |
Emmadani: i tire o,i wonder y they can't mention pple like funke akindele.Evrytime its omotola,na only omotola fine 4 una side?Loljust like those mentioning Lola omotayo think it disproves the fact that Igbo men don't like marrying from Yoruba. |
Segeggs: you cant expect men from a tribe dat prefer to marry from their own clan (and not from another clan in thesame tribe) to marry from another tribe especially the one their uncles told them was the reason they lost the biafra war.Go and sit down. this has nothing to do with biafran war. do u think our fathers are that jobless and lazy. @ OP, Igbo men don't generally marry from other tribes, its not even a case of Yoruba, am sure he wouldn't marry Hausa either. they can however be slightly comfortable with the tribes of SS. I know a friend who made a Yoruba gal pregnant many yrs ago but couldn't marry her. I asked him y he couldn't, he said he just can't marry Yoruba full stop. |
millionaireman: Abagworo? At this stage, he must have disappeared from the thread? I specialize in saying the truth after he must have spammed any thread with falsehood.Rotfl |
This Onitsha GRA is breathtaking |
smithjanetstore: @chinko72 ode ni e sha didirinWikipedia tnz. and what has this got to do with the frustrated and crappy look of the town? U are not ashamed u are describing Ibadan of 1960 instead of 2013. After mentioning all these ' firsts' one would imagine the place should be small London by now but in reality, its a town whose urbanization stopped in the 50s. At least Awka get hope for cosmetic surgery but the only thing SW needs is demolition and starting afresh. Even older cities: Lagos, Kaduna, kano look better. |
millionaireman: Gov.T.A. Orji got it wrong.Make Abagworo no catch u o |
osifred: hunger at work. most nigerian girls see it as a means of free foodFood is always involved in dates. Even if u go to a park or beach, u will still buy food in addition to the gate fees. U cant stay at a park or beach for many hours without, refreshment. so in my opinion., either way, food is involved. the restaurant is even cheaper |
U are shifting grounds a lot. just know that only few Igbos outside those compelled to read Igbo works do so. - that u are not aware of the works doesn't mean they aren't classic or that others do not know about them.. nig generally doesn't even celebrate Literature. if not for the whites, do u think Achebe and adichie would be popular, yet, they wrote in English. - Don't just conclude many Igbo can't read Igbo Lang because that is not true. Have u seen anybody that failed Igbo in the sec sch. Even the dullest of students can read Igbo. In the catholic churches, passages are read in Igbo, if many Igbos can't read Igbo, y will it be the medium of writing prayer books. just accept the problem is from interest as u said in your last point. |
1) what I listed are classic works . If u want i give u examples of the non-classic ones. That is y I said that the bulk of those talking about Igbo lit here are not even aware of what is happening in that field. How can u ask me whether ' Is I Akwu Dara N'ala is classic or not. That means u don't know the book. 2) the only problem I see in Igbo lit remains the reading by the Igbo ppl.. The poetry, drama and prose works are are in the market. However, those works are almost only utilized by those in d univ studying Igbo Lang and literature, lecturers and teachers of the Igbo Lang and lit, sec sch students who are mandated to read them for their exams. Only few ppl actually go to the bookshop to buy Igbo literary works just for leisure. 3) I don't know the primary sch u attended but we read the Igbo translation of things fall apart in Primary 4 and No Longer At ease in primary 5. In essence, I had read the Igbo versions of these books in primary sch bfr the English version in JSS. Leave all these tnz u ppl are saying, devt in Igbo lit is not as bad as u wanted to portray it. Most ppl' s interests are not there . Till an expert in igbo lit tells me the lit is dying, i cant take any conclusion made by those that have not even read the igno bible or any igbo work in the past 10 years. end of discussion |
queenmeenat: In as much as their is politics in dis izu T.A wl always be wary of every move by Rochas, bt stoppn such event is excessive, D highest he might av done is to stop d state owned media frm covering d event, Blockng it is political naivety. Mimiko is a rebel among d SouthWest govs bt they stl tolerate him because politics must always hav a limit among brothrs. That's y Rochas shouldn't have banned Abia line in IMO State |
Meringe: If it is APC that will save Abia, I am fully in support of them. That's what am saying nah |
