the health professions in Nig is the fact that everybody that studied science aside the Engineering students think he shd be seeing PX as docs or they must be seen running shoulders with doctors; instead of developing their own fields.

one of the founding fathers of in vitro fertilization is a physiologist but in nig , what do they do?

we thought all health professionals all they practice today plus those in the basic medical sciences .

doctors are at the forefront of all the health professions.
optometry is one of the latest courses to delegate, as a typical ophthalmologist will check ur visual acuity, diagnose ur clinical condition and test ur eyes with d glasses (0ptometry), this testing can consume clinic tym so we trained ppl as optometrists, and further designed they were to attend the university for more exposure.

go and read the history of medicine - a doctor usually diagnosed an illness, run the tests, prescribed the drugs, cost the drugs, gave the exact quantities to the patient before he sees another PX.

But there was a drive to make the process faster, we trained pips as nurses, lab workers, pharmacists,etc and the systems we evolved into professions.
even till now, doctors are in those various fields masterminding the activities there.

and one riff Raff is here basking in ignorance.
when non doctors went on strike, didn't the hospitals continue?
our pathologists, hematologists, radiologists, chem path doctors, pharmacists, took ur places, the house officers acted as nurses, it was kinda fun plus we were faster.

presently, the wards are empty because docs are on strike even though all of Una full ground.
so, who exactly do patients come to see in d Hosp again?

if u want to convince me u are educated, then u shd know that B.pharm is never equal to medicine even without the surgery.
that B.pharm is just abt conditions and their corresponding drugs but that's not what dpcs spent six years doing plus residency.

chuksbogus: Laalamed. yes you are entitled to study leave after 2yrs.the issue is not wether they earn it armtwisting the government to send them abroad. 2ndly what is a resident dr doing in a teaching hospital ? is he not a student and studying with pay? so you are saying that without going abroad to do the residency that wont come out good? so why our health system is not good is cos the staff are not trained abroad? this whole issue will futher threating the needed harmoney in health sector cos if abroad training be the case other health team member must be sent too. the truth is that the drs always want to be i show supremecy towards other healthcare team instead of being a team player. none of the teams can work in isolation .NMA chairman once called nurses, pharmacists ,lab scientits allied health workers meaning what? these are different proffessions with acts and decrees backing them, with different departments not that they are under clinical services. we should leave this battle of supremecy and distinguish ourselves in our different proffessions and earn respect not to force respect.we are a team i buttress.
