when will you still get sense? People who starts wars are ready to die for whatever they believe in take for example Adolf Hitler before the United forces reached Berlin in 1945,he already committed suicide. Another example are the Islamic terrorists, they're ready to die for what they believe in. Why didn't Ojukwu follow the same code of honour? After leading his people to slaughter,he was too scared to die,but he was ready to sacrifice the lives of his people. Get sense,Ojukwu was never a hero, but a greedy son of a biatch. Who was ready to sacrifice even the last live of the ibo man just to claim the title of "Mr President/Head of state". Ojukwu was a coward. I'm surprised the ibo people are treating him like a Hero instead of the coward he was!
The difference between Ojukwu and Hitler is that while Hitler started a war, Ojukwu never started any war. Have you ever asked your self why we Igbos love Ojukwu in life an death even though he led many of us to death? Of course, you are a Nigerian, you don't care about that. Go and read Nigerian history well, Ojukwu was right and Gowon was wrong. Ojukwu never started any war, it was not Ojukwu that started the shooting game and it was not him that came down to East to kill 3 million people. It was your so called Nigeria that declared war and came down to the east to massacre people. All Ojukwu did was declare his people free. Biafra is and was a movement for freedom, Ojukwu was just the leader of a freedom movement. People like my father who is an old Biafran Soldier did not fight for Ojukwu, they fought their freedom. Freedom is one of the few things in life worth dying for. The things that Ojukwu fought for such as freedom, sovereignty and self determination are today recognised as inalianable rights of man, even by the UN. So don't compare Ojukwu and Hitler. Ojukwu was about declaring people free while Hitler and Gowon were about enslaving people. As for Ojukwu not staying back to be killed when all hope was lost, that would have been stupid of him to throw away his life for nothing just like that. Hitter had to kill him self because he was a criminal but Ojukwu was fighting for the right of his people.

The people who matter in Igboland? Really?

Sorry bro but what matters in any land are the people, not a 'select' few. Biafra is about the people. Rich or poor, high or mighty, no life is necessarily any more important than the other. As a Nigerian, I don't expect you to understand.

When will the ibo people get sense? You can never find a Rich
ibo man doing his business "jeje" in Nigeria (His original
country) agitate for this so called Biafra. I don't know why the
ibo masses are so dumb and ret.arded. You'll would just end
up losing your lives like "suya". Don't you learn from history?
Even the devil incarnate called ojukwu was too cowardly to
take a bullet from the Nigerian Army and just die for what he
"believed" in,he was even too cowardly to commit suicide. He
has to run with his tail in between his legs like a fowl beaten by
the rain, leaving his so called "Biafra citizens" at the mercy of
the bullets of the Nigerian army. I know this mumu Kanu, that's
agitating for the same thing again in 2015,already has his
family/families overseas, calling on the dullard ibo masses( that
don't have a kobo to travel out of the country when the war
starts) to come fight for Biafra. Its like saying the
Comanches,Apaches, and the Red indians in USA to rise against
USA for their freedom/independence,its gonna be massacre. I
foresee another ibo massacre. I just pity the fools who will
stand behind this stvpid Kanu guy. This Biafra Nonsense should
be wiped off the mind of the ibo people, because its never
gonna happen, not in a billion years. Let's avoid another
massacre and starvation/malnutrition again!!! A word is
enough for the wise.
It's really you that needs sense. Biafra is not about Igbo Billioniares. Biafra is not about Nnamdi Kanu or Ojukwu.Biafra is about freedom. Right now, it is not Biafra that is killing people, it is your Nigerian Government. Naturally, because you are a slave of Lord Lugard, you will never ask your own Government why it is killing innocent people. What you are more concerned about is why Biafran people who are exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of movement and expression in peaceful protest will not join people like you in the mental slavery of "one Nigeria" so as not to get killed. Slave! You should be ashamed of your self for not being a real man.

Yes Murtala rightful defeated a lot of Ibo rebel officers. There are many more in the NA to finish the job.
He is still Nigeria's best leader by far and on many levels. Nigeria was alive vibrant and dynamic with him as Head of State. When you compare to the extremely dull and stupid Goodluck, the uninspiring Shonekan or the over-gentle Shagari you begin to understand the sayings "living dead" and "manhood living on" lol.
Well, if you can defend a genocidal killer like Murtala Mohammed as a good leader then you better see your psychiatrist because all is not well with you upstairs

Igbos residing in PH? Is that what this thread is about? This topic is about "Rivers state indigenes" attacking Biafra protesters. Or maybe you don't know that Rivers state is made up of 70% of ethnic Igbos,Igbo speaking people and Igboids?

Yes you are very successful, everybody is on nairaland. My simple question is why didn't the Igbo agitate this vehemently for biafra during Jonathan's tenure? Why did this agitation start immediate after Jonathan lost the election and became intense with threat of violence as soon as Buhari was sworn in? Why did the Igbos not use their close ties with Jonathan to either appeal or compel him to call for a referendum? Had Jonathan won re-election, would be Igbos be calling for Biafra today?
I don't think you realise that the agitation for Biafra would not have been much harder while a Nigerian president of Southern extraction is in office. Having said that, the agitation for Biafra was on long before GEJ came to office. We all knew about MASSOB and Uwazurike since the days OBJ. Igbos have the right to pull out of Nigeria any time they want

It was the proudest moment of my life on Friday to have gone out to march with my fellow Biafran comrades. I was prepared for arrest, I was prepared for police harassment, I was prepared for detention and I was also prepared to be shot at. Before I left, I gave my mother a huge amount of money and my Lawyers phone number incase I do not return. My mother then recalled how she had to hide in the bushes from a Nigerian Air raids and bombs during the war. I did not go out to march and risk my life just for Nnamdi Kanu. I went out to march for my right as an Igbo man to choose if I want to part of Nigeria or not. I went out to march for freedom! It was with a sense of utmost pride that I waved my Biafran flag. We came across a police Hilux van and one of the police men raised his gun and ordered us to disperse. To my shock, a young Igbo guy of not more 25 stood right infront of the police mans gun and shouted in Igbo 'gba!' ( shoot!). The police man stared at the young man in shocked amazement and later lowered his rifle and they drove away. We continued with our march hoping to link with other Biafran groups when the Hilux van suddenly returned and this time, they drove past us and threw several teargas canisters into the crowd and shooting indiscriminately into the air. The teargas entered my eyes and nose and couldnt see. People were running in different directions. I lost my phone in the process but managed to hold on to my Biafra flag which I used to guide my self to safety because I could not open my eyes. My face felt like it was on fire. I managed to find a quiet spot where I stayed for several hours until the burning feeling on my face and nose stopped. I later learnt that nobody was killed or arrested.

People! Biafra is not negotiable! It is time to dissolve this fraud of a nation known as Nigeria so we can all go our different ways! The zoological Republic of Lord Lugard is a 100 year old scam! I will never be a Nigerian! I'm an Igbo man and proud Biafran!

PoliticsRe: Murtala Mohammed's 77th Posthumous Birthday Is Today by kingzizzy: 12:02pm On Nov 08, 2015
Murtala was the Devils incarnate! He was the depiction of evil and everything that is bad about Nigeria. It is so horrible that we honour and keep honouring this man after all the evil he committed in his life time

[b]The sins of murtala:

1) murtala Mohammed led a band of Northern military officers which included the current president Buhari,Danjuma,Babangida,Abacha,Jerry Useni, the late Yaradua senior amongst others in the counter coup of July 1966 were they killed Ironsi and massacred over 300 eastern officers.

2) murtala and his troops massacred over 700 civilian men, women and children who came to welcome him and his troops as they entered Asaba at start of the war

3) murtala despite sound advice and in a bid to increase his popularity led thousands of Nigerian Soldiers to their deaths as he tried to cross the river Niger into Onitsha on 3 separate attempts (The then Lt Oladipo Diya almost lost his life in one of those attempts). Subsequently, Mutala was recalled from the war and sent to London while his men lay dead under the River Niger.

4) murtala became the first Military officer in Nigeria who conducted a coup to sieze political power for him self when he kicked out Gowon. Even Nzeogwu had no interest in becoming president in his own coup. murtala then in one of the biggest acts of Military indiscipline then retired everyone who was above him in rank promoted him self from a one star Brigadier General to a full four star Genera in one go. murtala became the face of Northern military domination of Nigeria.

murtala then embarked on a mass purge of the civil service where he sacked over 11,000 workers nationwide which included some of the best and brightest.

murtala was a war criminal, a homicidal killer, a failed Soldier,a sociopath and national disgrace

He was from Amaigbo in present day Imo state. He became one of the most successful boxers to come out of Nigeria. When Biafra was declared, he supported Biafra. He even had the Biafran anthem played for him before the start of every fight instead of the Nigerian anthem. He was made a lieutenant in the Biafran army propaganda wing. When the war ended in 1970, he was diagnosed with Cancer and died shortly afterwards.

service with grade level 16, my mother alongside her non-Abia colleagues (2000+) were dis-engaged on d 1st Oct 2010 by Abia state govt led by Gov T. A. Orji (now Senator T.A. Orji) on the grounds that they are non-indegenes. Since October 2010 till date my mother had not received a kobo as her salary, pension, or gratuity after committing 33years of hardwork and labour as a teacher... My question now is
"How do u guys think we can be better with the actualization of Biafra??"

I hereby urge all my Igbo brothers and sisters to remain law abiding citizens of Nigeria and respect all d relevant authorities, it is not yet to time for Nigeria's dis-intergration.. We are Nigerians a country blessed with diverse

THERE WAS NO PROTEST ANYWHERE NEAR YENAGOA

some igbos were seen gathering around mbiama junction waiting for others coming from PH, but were quickly rescued by the police who knew that some Ijaw youths were already waiting to attack them for trying to stage such provocative act in Ijawland. Mbiama junction (NOT MBIAMA TOWN) is in rivers state sharing borders with bayelsa.

Since the return to democracy, several Igbos have run for president including the great Ikemba himself but received no support from their fellow Igbos. Nigeria is a democracy now and it's a game of numbers. If Igbos organize around a sellable candidate and present a united front, reaching out to make alliances with the rest of the country then there is nothing stopping an Igbo president from emerging in the next elections.
Correction. Igbos gave Ojukwu massive support, unfortunately, he wax rigged out. PDP has rigging election in the SE/SS for years.

The Igbos are a tribe of over 40 million people. Ghana is just 28 million people but is an independent nation. So please I ask you, why should I as an Ig I be in Nigeria and be dragging with the Yoruba and Hausa man when it will be my turn to rule when I can just create Biafra and rule forever?
