Go check the history of that war. Nigerian government wasn't disposed to all out war against biafra at the outset.

Ojukwu mistook this disposition for weakness on the part of Nigeria. Ojukwu then took a foolish and greedy advantage of this. Proceeded on his campaign to Lagos.

At this point, Nigerian government, had no choice than to descend on biafra the way she did. The rest is now history.

If it ever become possible that biafra confine themselves to SE states, and refrain from claiming anything beyond onitsha Bridge, nobody will give a damn.
Like most Nigerians, you dont know Nigerian history. If knew Nigerian history, you would have known that the war was already on long before Ojukwu headed for Lagos. The Nigerian Army had already invaded Ogoja and Nsukka parts of Biafra. Infact, the war began when the Nigerian Army invaded Ogoja on 6th July 1967. Ojukwu did not start even the invasion of the midwest until about a month later.

Also, it should be noted that this was the Nigerian/Biafran war. Ojukwu was entitled to invade anywhere inside Nigeria including Lagos.

The SE you are talking about is not even recognised by the constitution if Nigeria and can cannot be used as template. If you talk about Igbos and Igboland, yoy will find that Ignos are indigenous to the lower benue, Delta state and Rivers state. States do not make ethnic groups. Igalas are native to Kogi and Anambra samd as Idomas are native to Benue and Enugu state.

Initiate your quest and politely ask for a referendum. Eat which whose cake, IPOB get any cake to offer. Show seriousness by first moving. Nigeria will show seriousness too.
This was done in 1967. All Igbos moved. Nigeria came to the East to fight for 3 years to bring Igbos back into Nigeria. Nobody is repeating that again. Now, Nigeria must agree to Biafra so that next time we move, you Nigerians will not come to the East to fight again like you people did last time.

Can you see why I said you seriously lack logic?

The North produces nothing yet your kinsmen will rather sacrifice their necks than stop living off the North?

Are you completely ignorant of the fact that KD and Kano alone generates more internal revenue than your 5 states combined? Yet you have the guts to try to undermine the North that is doing better than you? (the figures are there to prove it)

Do you know that all your 5 states are dependent on federal allocations to survive? Are you really ignorant of these facts?

Ibos will be asked to go despite operating one Nigeria because they have expressed their discontent severally and claimed that the North does not want to let it go. Now you have been asked to return to your states and you're still yapping trash. If you're so sure of the viability of biafra you wouldnt wait for anyone to break the country before returning to build your paradise.

You mean you haven't reasoned this before? Do you have spaghetti for brains huh

Gosh this is the last time I'm responding to you because as I said, you're all emotions and ZERO logic.
You IGR does not mean anything. IGR is not sommething contributed to Nigeria. You pay a small portion of it to the center, if anything at all.

It is crass nonsense for the North to ask Igbos to leave Northern Nigeria while operating on 'one Nigeria'. We Igbos have not forgotten that the last time we left the North to go back home and face Biafra, it was you Northerners that came to the East to fight for 3 years to bring us back to Nigeria. There isnt even a single Igbo man who would fight for a day to be you people.

You people should show you are serious about breaking up this fraud called 'one Nigeria' instead issuing meaningless ultimatums that are retracted after a few days.

You people should put pressure on the Government to grant us a referendum. After the referenfum, and we have an assurance on Biafra, we Igbos can go back knowing that that we will have a Government in place to cater for Biafrans.

Nigeria is as fraudulent as a call for Igbos to go while Biafra has not yet been actuslised.

Dont be decieved. In Igbo culture, there is no bowing or kneeling execept in times of prayer (traditional or otherwise). The two people kneeling before Kanu must be doing it for a good reason. Its either they had just finished a prayer secession with Kanu or that the men are not Igbos

Restructure what? I always laugh at these people that are talkinging about restructuring. They are the same people that ask Biafrans to go to the national assembly to insert referendum in the constitution. What these people dont know is that they will also have to go to the national assembly to insert restructuring into the constitution. It is not even necessary to insert referendum into the constitution.
PoliticsRe: The Hypocrisy Of The North by kingzizzy: 6:55am On Jun 12, 2017
The real anger of these Northerners is that they hoped that Igbos would have been like Yorubas by now, singing the tune of 'one Nigeria' while suffering the whims and carprices of the North.

The fact that Igbos are still demanding their independence 50 years after the war is seriously annoying the Northerners. The successful sit at home was the final straw that broke the camels back.

Northerners have never met people like the Igbos. They wish there was a way they could snap their fingers and make all Igbos disappear so that they can continue their economic and political domination of Nigeria unchallenged.

What amazes me is that these jokers think they can get a referendum without working for it, without engaging in serious diplomacy to rebuild the bridges that IPOB and their thoughtless & inciting approach have burnt, in order to secure the required majority votes to insert a referendum clause in the constitution. News flash: it will never happen.

The hypocrites will rather give you one million and one excuses why they should be allowed to continue living off the North that they insult, derogate and undermine daily as "backward, unproductive and barren". Shameless parasites.

The emptiness, idiocy, confusion, helplessness and hypocrisy of the biafraud_ agitation is now bare for all to see, thanks to the Arewa youths.
If you have nothing to say then go and sit down. Nigeria is the illegal creation of the white man and nobody is going to refere to your constitution fir a referendum.

Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba do not like each other, they never have. I have never heard a Yoruba man say he loves Northerners. I am yet to see any Igbo man say he loves Yorubas as a people.

The only thing I hear is that we should all be together. Why? When we were not together, we did not fight, dislike or kill each other as we have done since the creation of Nigeria.

So what is the point of continuing with a union that has been a hopeless faliure for 57 years?

You savages have been there when this boy called NNAMDI Kanu was abusing other NIGERIANS with so much hate and ethnic bigotry and you maintained a curious silence. Now that the HAUSA-Fulani have responded what can you say?

No ethnic (community) in this country has a monopoly of abuse, threats and terror.

What we have seen now is a balance of terror, balance of abuse and balance of ethnic bigotry.

But I AM a bit afraid here.

While Kanu and his group may be jokers, I doubt if we can say the same for Arewa youths. I know enough history to know this. We will all learn from this.

Igbos going back home will not give them Biafra. They tried that system in 1967, Nigeria still came down to the East to fight for 3 years to bring them back into Nigeria.

What should happen now is that the North should put pressure on Buhari to conduct a referendum as IPOB have asked, then we can go home

PoliticsRe: Why Secession Does Not Make Sense - An Igbo's Perspective by kingzizzy: 5:21pm On Jun 11, 2017
JohnW2017:
As an Igbo and peace loving individual, I strongly believe that Nigeria should stay united as One Nation.

I live in the West so perhaps I have a biased view.

It is evident to me that all Igbo's are being painted with the same brush as being in support of an independent nation but I would like to state my opposition to that.

In fact, I strongly believe that the reaction from the North is as a result of the sit-in which took place in the East apparently showing solidarity with the secessionists. But I would argue that compliance was not voluntary and that people were afraid to come out.

So, my fellow Nigerians, let us stay together and make Nigeria better together because oil on its own does not make a society better. It is the people who make things better.

I would argue that we are not ready to go our separate ways because we are not at the level of cohesion, success and awareness that is needed first as a Nation. Furthermore, people should not say things they do not mean because they don't know who will take them seriously and act on their words.

It may involve some compromise by different groups but ultimately we need to find a peaceful solution and stop the ethnic and tribal outlook.
Let me tell you this story. Britain created Nigeria. If it was not for Britain, you would not be a Nigerian today, but you would have been Igbo. So how can you place the identitiy the white man brought, above the identity handed down to you by your forefathers? Even if you want to do this, it should the identity you choose for your self, not the one Lugard chose for you.

It may also interest you to know that Britain that created Nigeria granted one of its constituent parts, Northern Ireland, a referendum in 1973. The same Britain granted another of its constituent parts, Scotland, referendum in 2014. If the people who created your country can be open to breaking up, then who are you not be open as well.

You have every right not to agree with Biafra, but you must support people right to self determination

Which nonsense have the Igbos been dealing with that others have not been dealing with?

What Referendum are you demanding exactly? Is it that Igbos want to leave Nigeria? If that is the case, then you guys need to form political parties with secession as the agenda. You cannot achieve secession with a cacophony of noise on TV, radio and social media.
Look, this has been dealt with many times. The Nigeria you are talking about is the mere artificial creation of the white man. As we all know too well, none of the indigenous ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria, including Igbos, ever gave their consent for the creation of Nigeria. Odinarily, the British should have held a nationwide referendum in 1960 before the left to ask all those they forced into the union of Nigeria if they want to continue with it. They didnt out of selfish interests.

So asking Igbos to seek a democratic way out of Nigeria when Nigeria was not democratically created is neither here nor there. As far as Im concerned, Igbos are being illegally held in Nigeria

This issue was once addressed on Radio Biafra. It is usually countries that are disunited that have to put "one" before the name of the country as a way of validating that country. Take for example China. This is a country that the Government Government constantly referes to as "one China", yet, it is far from united as sections of the country such as Tibet, Hong Kong and parts of Mongolia are agitating to go.

Whenever you see a country using 'one', it is a disunited country.

As a proud Igbo man and Biafran supporter, I have problem with the 'Kaduna declaration' which instructed the Igbos to leave the North by October 1st. At least we had a warning, other times there was no warning when the massacre started. As I said in a previous thread, it is better for one to be back home broke but alive, than to be wealthy in the North but dead.

What Im against is for the Northerners to be asking Igbos to go with one side if their mouth while shouting "one Nigeria" from the other side.

I expect to see visible steps taken by the Arewa youths to encourage the Federal Government to give Igbos a referendum

I also expect total support for Biafra by Arewa.

You have to start facing reality, you have no nation. Just because a British opportunist called Lugard came to West Africa, drew a map, and his wife named the place after a River, does not give you a nation.
