Free them from what? Were they being imprisoned or killed? Were they slaves?

Stop displaying stupidity and embrace the truth, Biafra was about Ojukwu's show of power than any agitation. Oil was discovered newly down-south and the thief tried to corner it. Some of your people died and that was it, not all these emotional nonsense you're talking about.
Look we dont have to keep having this argument. The only important thing you need to know is this. When someone does not want to be with you, then you have business being with that person.

And your brethren didn't kill anyone of them right?
The way Germans followed Hitler was the way Igbos followed Ojukwu and they were defeated, stop blaming Nigeria for its victory. Blame your leader.

If you want to leave the country, go to Cameroun or Ivory coast and tear your Nigerian Passport. You're not thw voice of the Igbo majority. Until people like Obi of Onitsha begin to speak, IPOB and MASSOB are jokes.
Ahhhh really? But Hitler was fighting to conquer other people, Ojukwu was fighting to free his people from your Hausa/Fulani controlled Nigeria.

Look, I know Lord Lugard told you Nigerians that we are all one (right after he basterdised you all by naming you after a common River) but it is not true. The sooner you people accept their is no 'one Nigeria', the better.

Dont worry about the Obi of Onitsha, Biafra is about the wishes of the majority, not the wishes of any one man.

You see? Another one of the bad eggs amongst the Igbo tribe. The truth is always an acid to the skin of war mongers. I wonder if someone like you can ever make it in life. That's how some of you will insult a Yoruba or Hausa man who God has destined to help you. . .
Lets rewind you mean the same Hausa/Yoruba who killed 3 million of my brethren in the name of one Nigeria? Thanks for the offer but thats not the sort of help we are looking for. The help we need right now is how to get out of being in one country with you people
PoliticsRe: Hausa Ultimatum To Igbos Residing In The North; My Opinion by kingzizzy: 1:57pm On Jun 10, 2017
blackberlin:
I'll be very direct so as not to waste time. I invite constructive criticims and intelligent comments only.

First of all, let me say that I admire the Igbos a lot.
I am a Yoruba man, yes "Ofe Mmanu" as the Igbos like to taunt us grin but I have so many Igbo friends and the Igbos are no doubt, very industruous and hard-working.

Based on the constant noise on social media since the upspring of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu's arrest, his recent release and the recent issuance of ultimatum to Igbos residing in the northern part of Nigeria, it has become personally imperative for me to air my view on the recent happenings in the country as a well meaning citizen. . .

1. While I resent the ultimatum issued against the Igbos by Arewa youths, one cannot deny that it is due to the constant cry by IPOB and MASSOB members for the creation of Biafra. We even saw recently how a cow was given to Nnamdi Kanu and the gifters named it Buhari, the namr of the President of Nigeria.

Based on the number of comdemnation coming from Northrern elders and politicians like Ablusalami Abubakar, Atiku, El Rufai, against the Arewa-issued ultimatum to the Igbos residing in the north, one can assume that the North is far more politically upright in comparison to the South East. Reason?
Where were the Igbo Elders when Nnamdi Kanu was issuing threats to the unity of this country and calling the country a zoo and Nigerians animals?
Instead, after his incarceration, he was tagged a hero and was met with visits from Igbo who's whos and celebrities like Jim Iyke who was spotted sharing Kolanut as though he was in a family meeting.

The Igbos will fail to caution their own people from negative sayings and actions but will always be quick to play victims when things go against them. That's national blackmail.

2. The second issue I want to point to is the issue of the Igbos disrespecting their hosts. I remember what happened to the Igbos in Akure regarding the issue of Eze Ndigbo and Deji of Akure. It is only the Igbos that will go outside of the South East, complain of marginalization, and still try to disrespect their hosts, without anybody issuing any warnings to them. They've done this everywhere else in the world, you have Eze Ndigbo with a crown everywhere in Nigeria but you don't have Oba Oodua or Emir of Arewa anywhere in the South East. Yet the Igbos will never look at their own faults but are always quick to point fingers to other people.

3. The Igbos, as history has taught us, are always running from their problems instead of confronting it. The problem of the South East today, many Igbos will chorus it out as "political marginalization", which no doubt owes it foundation to the ever inner-lying intention of the igbos for Biafra as Igbos have always been seen as secessionists. Rochas Okorocha today is referred to as Okoro Hausa because he doesn't believe in divisionism, Igbos within their sub-regions are also not united. Imo doesn't like Anambra, all other Igbo tribes hate Ebonyi and this is the truth that no Igbo man can deny. Some will even swear that they can never marry from another Igbo sub-tribe talk less of marrying "Nwa Yoruba or Aboki"

To round it all up, I'd say "Charity Begins At Home". When the Igbos successfully diagnose their own problems instead of running helter skelter, the light of the South East will shine brighter.

PoliticsRe: Ikwerre Person What To Know If North Threat Will Affect Them Or Not by kingzizzy: 12:46pm On Jun 10, 2017
Some people are funny. Even the Ijaws and Ogonis who are with Ikwerres in Rivers state cannot tell the difference between an Ikwerre man and me from Anambra. All Ikwerre's understand central Igbo. The Ikwerres wear red cap like Igbos, speak a dialect of Igbo, have Igbo names.

How will a Chibike Amaechi convince anyone, let alone a Northerner, that he is not Igbo?

If Northerners attack Igbos, no Ikwerre man will be able convince anyone that he isnt Igbo.

This is the manifest foolishness and pettiness of the neo-biafrians:

Without noise, your biafra can happen at snap of fingers. Let all the Igbos in every nooks and crannies of Nigeria, move to the SE geopolitical zone, and remain there.

Nobody will begrudge you for that.

Staying in Nigeria that you called zoo, and making noise from there, is the grand definition of illusionary quest.
You should go and study more about Nigeria's history. In 1967, Igbos returned home in their millions to face Biafra. It was you Nigerians that came to the East to fight for 3 years to bring Igbos back into Nigeria. Now, you are asking Igbos to repeat what did not work last time?

Since you Nigerians fought to hold on to Igbos, it is now incumbent on you people to show you now mean business. Join the call for the creation of Biafra. After Biafra is finalised, then you can ask Igbos to go.

You cant ask Igbos to go while there is still 'one Nigeria', thats like asking a person to go home while you hold on to the keys of the persons house.

Did you see anybody ask The Scots to go back to Scotland when they had their 2014 referendum?

But make no mistake about it, I and my fellow Igbos will one day exit this zoological Republic of Lord Lugard.

OP, self determination is a universal human right. Bringing Ojukwu into this is irrelevant. Ojukwu is dead and gone and it is us he left behind that should create our own future. If the Igbo nation along with other 'willin' ethnic nationalities decide that they want an independent state of Biafra, it is for nobody except God to say otherwise.

Thats because Lugard did not consult anyone when he put us all in Nigeria. There is no need to consult anyone, everyone knows what Biafra is about. When referendum comes, you people in Uyo can vote to continue with Nigeria and allow those who want to exit to do so.

Guy you are laughable. You are in a map drawn by a white called Lugard. You havent complained about the map a white man drew, you are complaining about the one drawn by Kanu?

The Igbos generally dont care any more about the presidency of Nigeria. It wont do anything fir us same as it didnt do anything for all those who held it before. As for those who say they not part of Biafra, they are mainly political office holders and their acolytes who are trying to protect their jobs in Nigeria

The real people who have fought, suffered and went to jail like Asari Dokubo will tell you any day that they are true Biafrans.

When a referendum comes, everyone can choose their destiny

PoliticsRe: Had I Known Is Always At Last - 1954 Secession Clause by kingzizzy: 5:36pm On Jun 09, 2017
deji15:
Another perspective on the agitation for secession, restructuring and resource control.

- How I wish Pa Nnamdi Azikiwe had listen to Pa Awo and allowed secession clause to make it into the Nigeria constitution in 1953.
It is debatable if secession clause would have made it into condtitution regardless of what Zk or Awo thought as it is a known fact that the British were against it

- How I wish Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna did not kill other regional leaders in 1966 which set up a chain of reaction for other event that culminated into Civil war that killed millions
It would have been ideal if it had been a bloodless coup but the coup was not the direct reason why the war was fought. Even after the coup, counter coup and the pogroms that followed, there was still a good chance to avoid war at Aburi. Unfirtunately, the North with its insaitiable greed to control the economic snd political life Nigeria made war inevitable.

- How I wish Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna did not execute the first coup which usher in the era of military rule that wasted 30 years of Nigeria national life.
All over Africa in the 60's and 70's, there was hardly any country that didnt experience a military coup. Coups were quite fashionable at the time. Even if Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna had not conducted a coup, it was highly unlikely that Nigeria would have escaped a coup. I also say this because at the time, there was huge political turmoil at the time which breeds coup plotting.

- How I wish General Ironsi did not issue the unitary system of Govt via decree 34 in 1966.[
Every Military decree is always removed when civilians return. Military rule its self, is always temporal, same as decree 34 or any other decree. Ironsi kept the 4 Regions he met. Had Gowon not abolished the 4 Regions and created 12 states, Nigeria would still have been a federation of 4 Regions whenever civialian rule returned.

By abolishing the Regions and creating states, Civilian rulers could only go with what they inherited. The removal of the Regions caused the unitary system to be perpetuated. It should also be noted that Decree 34 was removed at Aburi.

PoliticsRe: Why Igbos Are Deceived Over Biafra by kingzizzy: 4:48pm On Jun 09, 2017
Ontarget:
Igbos only focus on what they perceive as the advantage of having Biafra and totally ignore the potential pitfalls ahead. Igbos feel they are intelligent, hardworking and industrious so they think with those qualities it's all going to merry in Biafra land. But I wonder why the south east is still underdeveloped inspite of the fact that the land is occupied by people who pride themselves to be intelligent and industrious. It makes me wonder if there would ever be any difference after Biafra has been ushered into existence.

The most uncertain and challenging aspect which Igbos ignore that can make Biafra turn out to be a total disaster is political stability. Maintaining political stability is not childs play. You can imagine how things gets heated up in the political sphere of advanced nations like America, let alone a third world new country called Biafra filled with people with an untamed mindset and poorly educated. If care is not taken in the political sphere of Biafra the country will explode even before it begins. Power struggles in the south east is among the tightly contested in Nigeria. And you expect such ambitious and power hungry people to play matured politics and yield to each other's ambition? I am still seriously in doubt.

Please nobody should mention Afonja cos I am not an Afonja.
You talked about pitfalls without mentioning any. I really dont see how staying in Nigeria is going to improve anything in in Biafra.

Assuming that Biafra turns out to be just Igbos/Igboids, I want Enugu people to control their coal, I want Abakiliki to control their agriculture, I want Afikpo to control their limestone, I want obigbo to control Afam power plant and their oil, I want Asaba to control their gas, I want Nnewi to control their Automotive industry and manufacturing, I want Ikwerre to control their Sea port and Oil.

It will be a fully restructured Biafra with a weak center and practicing full resource control. With every province controling their resources, why would anyone be fighting anybody? Biafra will not be Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, The Farce And Hypocrisy Of Unity by kingzizzy: 4:17pm On Jun 09, 2017
obailala:
I repeat it once again, the only making restructuring impossible is that foolishness and selfishness which has ensured the southern zones can never call for it with one voice. Just take a look at this thread and many others, the day the man in Abuja favours SW, they go dumb and the day the powers in Abuja favours the SE, they go dumb on restructuring. I repeat it that the day the southern zones call for a restructure, and clamour for it 'seriously' with a single voice, that is the day the hegemony of the core north will be destroyed.

By the way the core north doesn't control any 50% of any votes. Stop churning out these imaginary figures which have been used to deceive/discourage people for decades.

Core North (i.e. NE & NW) = 140 Reps; 39 Senators
Southern Zones (SE+SS+SW) = 169 Reps; 51 Senators
North-Central/Middle Belt = 51 Reps; 19 Senators

Like I said earlier, if and only if the southern zones are ready to be serious with restructuring by speaking with one voice, more than half of the North Central is ready to align with the south. I highlighted Benue, Kwara, Kogi and Plateau states; these middle-belt states would be more than happy to free themselves from Hausa-Fulani domination. So stop giving me that overused 50% imaginary statistics..
Ok, take the NC out of the equation. Core North (NW+NE)= 140 Reps which is rougly 40% of the house of representatives.

SW/SE/SW/NC =60%

so even if the entire South and the NC voted for restructuring, they still would not get the 67% needed to pass the bill on restructuring. What it means is that that the 7% has to be found in the core North. Unless some of them agree, restructuring will not be possible. Now how will 7% of the core North be convinced to vote for restructuring that will mean not only loss of political control, but also the end of 'oil money'.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, The Farce And Hypocrisy Of Unity by kingzizzy: 2:35pm On Jun 09, 2017
obailala:
The mistake you always make is lumping the entire north central together in your map of the north. The middle-belt may fall in the north geopolitically; but socially, they are sick and tired of being lumped together with the north and are certainly sick of the domination of the core north.
Even if the North central embraces restructuring, it will still not give the South enough votes to pass a bill on restructuring. Just the core North controls at least 50% of the votes. How will anyone convince any of them to support restructuring? They have nothing to gain and everything to lose by restructuring. As long as there is one drop of Oil in Southern Nigeria, the core North will not allow any form of restructuring and they have the voting bloc to ensure that.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, The Farce And Hypocrisy Of Unity by kingzizzy: 1:48pm On Jun 09, 2017
obailala:
Aren't we ashamed of continuously making this shallow statement?.... Is the core north God?... If the rest of Nigeria for once can speak with one voice on restructuring, what makes you thing the core north is so omnipotent?.... Was the core north not woefully defeated in 2011 when the entire south and middlebelt supported GEJ?
Face reality. For Nigeria to be restructured, there has to be constitutional change. The constitution can only be changed or ammended at the national assembly. With the core North controling over 50% of the votes at the national assembly, how are you going to get the 67% needed to get restructuring? Or you think the North are going to lend their votes to something that will weaken them politically and economically and politically such as restructuring?

That is why anyone who wants restructuring has to leave the control of the North. If you want 'one Nigeria', forget restructuring

The Imolites were brainwashed by their then Anambra counterpart. As a result, many Igbos lost their lives, most of their women were raped and impregnated during that war. As a result, many suffered hunger and the rate of kwashiorkor sufferers were high.
Finally, Ojukwu who brought the war, couldn't withstand it he ran away to Ivory coast leaving the rest Igbos to face ethnic cleansing by the Nigerian soldiers, if not for the intervention of the UNITED NATIONS only Ojukwu could have been the surviving Igbo man on earth
Yet when he returned from exile they made him king of Ndi Igbo gave him the most Igbo queen to marry as compensation. Till date the Igbos are yet to realize the implications in that war instead of telling their sons and daughters the truth of that war, they kept deceiving themselves and want history to repeat itself.
Once again another Igbo man has come up from the same area to brainwash the Igbos and you can see some responding like the animals they claim, in the Nigerian zoo
Anyone who calls for war, this time, should fight it alone, not in the name of Igbos.

"But we the northerners endured it and carried on as if nothing happened in the spirit of brotherhood.
You people slaughtered over 300 Igbo officers and over 50,000 Igbo men, women and children! If that is their idea of "carrying on as if nothing happened" then I pity whoever wants to be in one country with these people.

That was why in the Second Republic, an Igbo man, Chief Alex Ekwueme, became a deputy to President Shehu Shagari.

“I have never seen a country where there was a civil war and somebody from the part of the country that waged the war against the nation became a leader in the country so quickly. The Igbo should remember that politics of democracy is politics of election, not agitation.”
Igbos had already declared their own country and left. You people came down to the East to fight, yet, it is Igbos that waged a war on Nigeria? Igbos that had already gone their way? Something is wrong with this man. Someone should tell him to google the meaning of self determination.

This Kaduna declaration saga has confirmed the already known fact that the ibos agitation for biafra is not well intentioned. The call for biafra is just the default mode that the ibos enter into whenever they loose out of the politics at the centre.

I had expected the ibos, in furtherance to their biafra ambition, would have started leaving the North following the ultimatum served by the Arewa Youths. But it seems the ibos would rather die in the North than go back to iboland

The ibos want to break away from Nigeria but at the same time want to remain in other part of Nigeria

The ibos want an independent iboland but they are afraid of going back to iboland

some of them even have this deluded assumption that in the event that they get their biafra country, they will still retain their citizenship as Nigerians and still stay in other part of Nigeria.

Jokers !!
You have it totally wrong. When Czechoslovakia split into Czech and Slovakia, neither side had to move anywhere. When Scotland was agitating for independence and got a referendum in 2014, at no time did anyone ask the the Scots to move back home. There are agitations for Monaco to leave france, no french person is telling them to move back to Monaco.

The reason why nobody is asking anyone to go home in these examples is because Czechs/Slovaks, Britain/Scotland and France/Monaco are all civilised people who recognise self deternination as a right of all people. The right of anyone to be independent is respected, the only thing people might differ on is the method of being independent.

But in a backward country like Nigeria, people do not respect the right of a section of the country to self determination. They dont even know what sovereignty is. Thats why the average Nigerian thinks that secession is the same as packing up to go home.

Im an Igbo man, it is my right to secede from Nigeria if I so wish. If Nigeria wants me to go back home, then no problem.

The problem is asking me to go home while holding the keys to my house. That is not fair. The Northern youths should have joined the call for the independence of Biafra before asking Igbos to go.

How can someone be practicing 'one Nigeria' while asking Igbos to go? Grant Igbos their country then tell them to go, not hold their independence and tell them to go, where will they go when they dont have a country?

This crazy. You Nigerians deny us Biafra and you tell us to go? Nna, someone needs to explain this logic to me.
