What are these people protesting for? Amnesty international has over 80 videos and pictures of the Nigerian Army shooting and killing different groups such as Shia muslims and IPOB Instead of these protesters to demand to see the evidence, they are asking AI to go. They dont even care if their military committed extrer-judicial killings. All they care about was the u favourable report by AI |
Some people are more interested in Kanu rather than addressing the issues that has made Nigeria a divided country. |
comos:All trooping? As far as I know, there are less than 8 notable Igbo politicians in APC |
Stricker321:It might not be a divisive thread, it might just be someone who is curious about who the Wawa people are. OP, Wawa people are a sub-sect of Igbos mainly found in Enugu state who speak a closely related dialect of Igbo called 'Wawa'. |
When the courts of the land says someone should be "unconditionally released" yet the authorities disregard court rulings. |
Image123:He is in prison? So was Nieson Mandela, Awolowo, Obasunjo and Buhari. Each of these men spent at least a year in jail. It is not how you start but how you end up |
APC are only interested in grabbing power. It has no interest adding value to the lives of people. Capturing the SE is impossible for APC. Their only hope of doing this is to use federal might and funds to rig elections. |
uncleade:Mandela neither fought for a united South Africa or or a divided one. He fought for freedom from white minority rule also refered to apathied rule. Unity means nothing if it is not by mutual consent |
gbegemaster:I have to a number of weddings that later ended in divorce. Not all unions will work, be happy or even last. It is only in Nigeria people will think that the country was ordained by God when it was British profiteers that created the country It is only in Nigeria that the country will fight a civil war, kill themselves in the millions and still be telling each that was all done out of love and unity It is only in Nigeria that the 3 main ethnic groups still dont understand each other after 100 years together but is still refered to as a 'Nation' Out of all this disunity, lies, bad history, falsehoods, ill feeling, nepotism and hatred, a Nigerian will still be asking "what is the real problem with Nigeria?" |
akpasubi777:One of those answering the name of a River the white man imposed on him spotted |
Remarkably, the only type of lights they found suitable for the Presidential office are the ones commonly found in the gambling hotels of Los Vegas. Maybe they always knew that only a gambler can be President of Nigeria. |
Fremancipation:Of course. Some people cannot reason like humans. There are some people in West Africa who reason that it is the job of Lord Lugard to create their country for them and to name them after a River. |
comos:If you have one example of a serving minister who was holding his position while contesting for a political position, say it, otherwise close your mouth. A political appointee cannot hold office while seeking elective political position. |
Nnamdi Kanu "As Mary Wollstonecraft said, what makes you human is the ability to reason. Here, people don't reason" |
comos:A Minister cannot contest elections, he has to resign first |
Nice one! Ya kpotuba! It is important for Nigerians to see that the colonial fraud called Nigeria which was created by a British opportunistic thief called Lord Frederick Lugard can no longer stand the test of time. I cannot answer to a name derived from a River |
LilChamp:Threaten the unity of a nation? You Nigerians dont seems to understand that Nigeria is not united nor is it a nation. If Nigeria was a nation, one man would not be able to threaten its unity. |
comos:You dont understand what is happening. PDP and APC can no longer participate in this election. The PDP candidate has been disqualified and the APC canidate has become a Minister and is no longer running. The courts has said that the time for candidate substitution is over Therefore, APC and PDP cannot participate |
comos:Both PDP and APC cannot contest. PDP has already been disqualified while APC has no candidate |
Justice can be delayed, it can never be denied. Same as freedom.Kanu will come out to the shame of all the millions of slaves of Lord Lugard out there. I stand with Kanu! |
GEJ's administeration might not have been the best but it was far better than Buhari's administeration Nigerians knew recession under PMB |
Eruditor:Buhari was already a serving officer by then. Buhari was a participant in the coup that brought Gowon to power. Madueke alsi graduated with Diya. When Biafra was declared, Madueke joined the Biafran Navy. After the war, he returned to the Nigerian Navy along with other Igbo Naval Officers like Ebitu Ukiwe. |
In the run up to Veteran actor, Pete Edochie's Birthday, he was interviewed in the Igbo language by a journalist who asked him about his stance on the on going agitation about Biafra. The Journalist asked him if Igbos should aspire to the presidency of Nigeria or seek their own separate state of Biafra. Pete Edochie responded by ignoring anything about Igbo presidency and delved straight into the issue of Biafra. He started by saying that he is deeply hurt by the killing of unarmed Biafran protesters. He said that there are many people who want Igbos to remain part of Nigeria and many who want Igbos to be independent. He however stressed that if Igbos must be Biafra, it has to be with the Southern Minorities. He said that a landlocked Biafra would be difficult, so effort must be put to carry the minorities along. He reminded the journalist that in the Biafran war, Biafra was the old Eastern Region which included Ogoja, Ijaw, Ibibio amongst others including Igbos. It should be noted that in 1966 when Igbos were being massacred in the North, Pete Edochie was living in the North with late fellow actor, Enebeli Elebeuwa. When Pete Edochie found out that Igbos were being killed, he went out looking for Enebeli so that they could escape and in the process, Pete himself nearly got lynched. Both men later escaped to the Eastern Region and Pete Edochie worked with Radio Biafra throughout the war. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLdAjE_fCOA |
Up IPOB! Keep spreading the word of freedom! Keep spreading the message of self determination! Nigeria, the colonial fraud created in 1914 by a mad British man called Lugard has become irrelevant We are going to be free wether Nigerians like it or not |
ElsonMorali:How are these kids breaking the law? Did anyone tell you that holding Biafran rallies is against the law? If you think it is against the law, go and read chapter 4 of the Nigerian constitution. Everyone is allowed freedom of movement, expression, conscience and belief. Anyone is allowed to believe in Biafra, express their belief in Biafra, move around freely and rally for their belief in Biafra. The only thing the law does not specify is how to go about getting Biafra Biafran rallies are completely legal |
Brugo:This has nothinh to do with politics. These are kids being given an early lesson in self determination 101 |
doublewisdom:Its unfortunate that the white man messed the word up. The British wrote is 'Onisha' then they later added a 't' to make it Onitsha. There are too many ways of writting that word but the true way is Onicha. |
loopman:Well since they are yet to kill anyone, they cannot be termed terrorist. If anyone is the terrorist, it is the Nigerian Army who has been shooting them |
In my own thinking, if anything happend to Kanu, IPOB will become a militant group. The Nigerian Army has not defeated any militant group in Nigeria be it Boko Haram, NDA etc. Adding IPOB to that list could spell the end of Nigeria |
Conrad Chukwukadibia Nwawo was born in 1922 in Onisha-Olona in pesent day Delta State. He had his education at Aggrey Memorial School, Arochukwu and and Ilesha Grammar School. He went for further training at the School of Agriculture before working as an assistant Agriculture officer in Ibadan. In 1950, Nwawo resigned and joined what was then known as the West African Fronteer force. He was sent on Officer training in Ghana and later, Eaton Hall Officer Cadet School. Nwawo was commissioned an officer of the Nigerian Army in 1953 with the Army number N10 (meaning he was the 10th officer of the Nigerian Army). Nwawo was sent on international military postings to Germany, England and The Congo. In the Congo, Nwawo along with F.A Fajuyi were awarded the prestigious Military Cross for bravery. Nwawo was promoted to Lt Colonel in 1965 and posted to London as Military attache. It was while in London that the first coup happened. With Nzeogwu in firm control of the North and threatening to march down to Lagos, Ironsi reached out to Nwawo. Nwawo had taught Nzeogwu military tactics at NMTC Kaduna and both men were close. Both men were also Midwest Igbos. Nwawo flew down to Lagos then to Kaduna where he convinced Nzeogwu to give himself up and both men returned to Lagos. Nwawo brought to a peaceful end what might have been a bloody military confrontation. When the civil war broke out, Nwawo like many Midwest Igbos such as Colonel Ochei, Lt Col Chudi Sokei, Lt Col Achuzia, Major Isichei amongst others chose to fight on the side of their kith and kin in Biafra. Ojukwu promoted Nwawo to Brigadier General and gave him command of the 11 Division. He also later commanded the Biafran Armies 13th Division and saw action in Onitsha, Abagana and Umuahia sectors if the war. He was later appointed chief administrative officer, Biafran Army Headquarters. In 1970 when the war ended, Nwawo was detained by the Nigerian Government but released in 1974 Nwawo was once asked if he regreted fighting on the Biafran side and he replied 'I have no regrets' He also added in his Onisha olona dialect: "Oge ozo, wa cho ilutinye nmadu aka na anya, wa ge elo iolo shinne" (Next time they want to poke us in the eye, they will think well first) Nwawo passed on to the great beyond in February 2016 aged 93. In all, Nwawo was a disciplined and brilliant officer. In retirement, he lived a quiet and contented life, but remained a hero among his people. He will be particularly remembered for his services to the Nigerian and Biafran Armies.

oyinkinola:So you call fighting for freedom a suicide mission? |
