Then you guys should stop dragging the Bible into mess...

BigCabal:
In the beginning, it all seemed pretty normal. Not celebrating birthdays, not associating with people who weren’t Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW). I mean, I was born into it. Everyone we knew was a Witness, and we were discouraged from making friends with non-JWs. We were divine people and anyone who wasn’t one of us was regarded as the spawn of Satan. As a child, it all felt pretty normal. I felt quite special because everything we did was different. We were Jehovah’s people after all.

I loved being a Witness, but I disagreed with some of the doctrines, like the order not to celebrate birthdays. I wished I could celebrate my birthday with my friends, have food and drinks and be the centre of attention, but I never had that. I pegged it up to being persecuted for righteousness’ sake. JWs have a kink where they enjoy being punished for their faith. I was punished every single day in school for not singing the national anthem because we’re not allowed to. I wasn’t mad or upset about it. On Sunday, during field service, all my JW friends would brag to each other about how we stood up to our teachers, how we stayed faithful to Jehovah and never caved.

You don’t realise you’re in a cult until something in your head clicks, and it didn’t click in mine until I was a teenager. The congregation was anti-secular education. There were plenty of publications, articles and letters, talks at the Kingdom Hall discouraging people from going to school. Universities were painted as some kind of corrupt cesspool where members go to lose their faith. We were told about how when God’s Kingdom comes, you were not going to need your degree in medicine or psychology or whatever you wanted to study because God’s Kingdom would be a perfect world, so there was no reason to go to school. Many Nigerian schools, for some bizarre reason, request a reference letter from your place of worship or a civil servant as a condition for admission. My brother, who was the most devout member, needed that letter, but the organisation treated him like a criminal. They had several meetings and tried to discourage my father not to let him go.

Watching him get treated that way lit the fire of doubt inside me. There was no indication that he would go to school and lose his faith, so why should he be treated like that? On the outside, I was still quite the fanatic, but on the inside, my mind was awash with doubt. I thought: if this doctrine is suspect, what else are we being brainwashed with? Why were they scared of enlightenment? If people went to school and lost their faith, then wasn’t the problem the faith and not the school?

This crack of doubt spread when I recalled cases of sexual abuse against JW children. In all of those cases, the matters were covered up and the perpetrator unpunished, thanks to yet another questionable JW doctrine — matters between Jehovah’s Witnesses must always be settled in-house.

Members were not allowed to report crimes or issues between members to the police. When I was young, a devout member sexually abused a child. I remember how it was covered up. Nobody reported to the police. Another time, a man embezzled another Witness’ money in his company. It was a lot of money, but because they were both witnesses, it was never reported, and he never got his money back. I didn’t think much of all this then, but it began to make sense.

My experience with sexism in the organisation also fuelled my doubt. An elder told us that it was impossible for a woman to give a public talk. One time, a woman mentioned that she had attended a remote women-only congregation where the speaker was a woman, the elder was adamant: if there were no men, that congregation should not exist. Women could only speak while sitting and with their hair covered. I thought, “Women dedicate their entire lives to the organisation and get nothing in return, not even the right to speak?” It didn’t make sense to me, but we accepted it because it was a “directive from Jehovah”.

My doubt finally made me search for ex-JWs content on Google to read the experiences of people who had left the organisation. There was this video of a woman who organised a flash mob in a Kingdom Hall in the United States to protest the cover-up of her rape as a child. It hit me. I couldn’t believe the organisation that nurtured me was capable of such evil. I did more digging and found more people who had been treated so poorly by the organisation. I never dug too deep because I always felt guilty reading on the experiences of ex-JW members, I had to do it secretly and even clear my browser history because I didn’t want my parents finding that on my phone.

I got into university in 2016. When I resumed, I discovered that there was a JW congregation in the university. I began to wonder why we were discouraged from going to school when there was a university JW community. Suddenly, it clicked. We were taught from a young age not to question anything. Whatever happens, Jehovah is the answer. If it’s bad, Jehovah let it happen to teach us a lesson. I recollected all the times the organisation covered up scary crimes. For the first time, I was not under the protection of my family, and when I started interacting with other JWs by myself, I started to see how toxic it all really was — the politics, gossip, shaming, misogyny — it just didn’t feel right.

But I still stayed. I had no choice. I was young and dependent on my parents.

All those little things built up incrementally. My classes clashed with meeting times, and I started going from attending meetings regularly to going once or twice a week to once a month. I was treated like scum for missing those meetings. It felt like I was trying to leave a controlling person who was trying so hard to hold on to me. I got calls and messages disguised as feigned concern for me. It was wrapped in, “We’re calling because we love you and care about you,” but I could always feel the passive aggression. I felt even less connected to them and stopped attending meetings completely.

It is rare for someone to actually leave the congregation. In my 18 years in the organisation, I only saw one person denounce the faith and all its doctrine.

*. Genesis 27:37 "KJV:And Isaac answered and said unto ESAU, Behold, I HAVE MADE HIM THY LORD, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?"

"...ESAU, I HAVE MADE HIM (Jacob) THY LORD (your oga)..."

I'll be merciful to whom I'll be merciful...

Let's look at Moses and Aaron his brother.
Moses was the younger brother yet God said Moses will be the one He will use to deliver Israel from Egypt.

Moses protested...he said God should rather use his elder brother who is eloquent, God said no:

*. Exodus 4:14 "KJV:And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, IS NOT AARON the Levite THY BROTHER? I KNOW THAT HE CAN SPEAK WELL. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart."

Moses pointed at his (Moses') speech difficulty, God said no. And I don't think that God even removed the stammery speech from him.

*. Exodus 4:10 "KJV:And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I AM NOT ELOQUENT, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue"

11. KJV:And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or WHO MAKETH THE DUMB, or DEAF, or THE SEEING, or THE BLIND? HAVE NOT I THE LORD?
I'll be merciful to whom I'll be merciful played out in this case...

because the eloquent Aaron was not appointed to lead the people while the stammery Moses was chosen to be the leader.

Just live your life by the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles and you will be fulfilling the righteous requirements of the Law.

You don't need to obey the Laws of Moses to be righteous. You will die before your time because the Law of Moses contains over 600 distinct instructions. And you must not break one.

For instance, under the Law of Moses, you don't do anything on Saturday. You will be stoned to death if you try it. How many of you trying to defend the Law keep the Sabbath day Holy?

Under the Law of Moses, if a lady marries and the husband discover she is not a virgin, she will be stoned to death. How many of such judgment have we witnessed in our days?

Under the Law of Moses, you are not permitted to put on dresses made from different fabrics. It is an abomination.

If you break just one, you have broken all and you will come under a curse.

This was the struggle the Jews experienced for many years. Hence Jesus came first to deliver them from the Law of Moses and ushered in grace.

Why are you all dull of understanding. Even the early church had a conference because of this and concluded that no one should be obliged to keep the Law of Moses.

Read Acts 15 and you will get the full understanding.

If the submission of most of you arguing in support of the Law of Moses is the mind of the majority of the church, then we have serious work to do. It means the church is still blind after over 2,000 years that Jesus died.

Don't be in a hurry to respond. Take some time and read the book of Romans, Galatians and Hebrews. May the Lord give you understanding.
"Under the Law of Moses, if a lady marries and the husband discover she is not a virgin, she will be stoned to death. How many of such judgment have we witnessed in our days?"

The reason for not practicing the stoning aspect of this law is because God had said
ALL (not some) HAVE SINNED. There is no one who is qualified to carry out this judgement.

I think I read where the lawyer told you about this, quoting where Jesus said "...he that is without sin among you should cast the 1st stone...

Which means He did not disagree with the laws and judgement!

God willing to show mercy to all said let Jesus die for all...

But those who believe He died for them should stop committing sin by the help of the grace He gives them:

*. John 1:12 "KJV:But as many as received him, TO THEM GAVE HE POWER to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

The POWER here is the grace of God; to become sons and daughters of God means to live holily and righteously...

*. 1 John 3:9 "
KJV:In this THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE MANIFEST and the children of the devil: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, neither he that loveth not his brother."

*. 1 Thessalonians 2:10 "KJV:Ye are witnesses, and God also, HOW HOLILY AND JUSTLY AND UNBLAMEABLY WE BEHAVED OURSELVES among you that believe:"

if there is no law, nothing to be used to measure righteousness!

It is the killing of animals for the sake of sin that is abolished, not " thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not bear false witness, etc

This is why Dtruthspeaker called it "a perverted version of the law"

Because when you said "you don't do anything on Saturday", Jesus challenged the people that they DO rescued their animals that fell into pit on Saturday!

Did anyone stone them?
JESUS now gives us the true meaning "keep the Sabbath day holy" by saying we are permitted to DO good on Sabbath day.

E.g doctors and nurses are not going to avoid attending to their patients because of Sabbath day;

The police and other security agents are not going to stop their duty because of Sabbath day;

This issue of security, I believe that even in the land of Israel their watch men still DO their work on the Sabbath day...

The only problem between God and human is sin...
God's vendict on these is " the soul that sinneth it shall die" Ezekiel 18:4

Even in the Garden of Eden, before Adam and Eve DISOBEYED, God said the result of sin will be death... Genesis 2:17

Eventually sin entered and death started...
Human beings started looking for solution...

God who must do justice and at the same time show mercy came up with the plan that if the sinner is afraid to die, let him get an animal, confess his sins upon that animal and let the animal die instead of the sinner...

*. Leviticus 16:21 "KJV:And Aaron shall LAY BOTH HIS HANDS UPON THE HEAD OF THE LIVE GOAT, AND CONFESS OVER HIM ALL THE INIQUITIES of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:"

With this arrangement, there's death as punishment for sin committed; at the same time mercy is shown to the sinner...

This is the wisdom of God to carry out judgement and mercy at the same time...

Now the fault with this arrangement is that, the animals that are being killed for the sin of human beings worth less than the human beings...

In other words animals ( which are less in value when compared with human beings) are the ones that are delivering the human beings,
no! the lesser in value ( animals) should not be the ones to deliver the ones that are bigger in value ( human beings)...

Therefore a meeting was called..." Who will go for us" who will go to deliver man from the bondage of sin?...

One of the Angels could have done that but it pleases the Father to send His only begotten Son
to solve the problem of sin once and for all...

Oh KEN4CHRIST! it is on this issue you are misquoting apostle Paul...

Believers in Christ do not kill animals again for their sins, Jesus had ended that.

Please stop encouraging people to be lawless.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

Ignorant person praising another ignorant one. When the blind leads the blind, they will both end up in the ditch.

Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Romans 7:6 But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace.

The evidences of the Scripture are too clear to be ignored. But instead of believing it, you will ignore it and quote your own. Maybe you were a Jehovah Witness. Because this is how they behave. They must win argument at all cost.

This is Sweet! grin This is very Sweeet! grin Complete, Wholistic and Truthful Analysis!

Save for the little "ken4christ is correct" part for my contention with him was based on the untruthful ground that he said The Law has been put away and dispensed with which he does not know that legally it means "man is living outside The Law, therefore man is living lawlessly". [Is this the message Lawyer Paul gave and should give?]

Which further means that The New Law he proposes that The Lord made is A Law of Lawless living.

And based on The Law of Lawless living, "No man can be condemned and all are justified."

Thus, I lay before everyone soul here, "is this True? Is man living outside and beyond Law" ? is it possible for man to ever be put beyond the scope of Law? Was man put beyond the hands of The Law?

Did The Lord Jesus Christ proclaim a New Law of Lawless living as Ken4Christ implied?

These are the questions that ken4Christ has not averted his mind to consider since it is not within his purview to ponder about The Law, it's Power, it's Reach and it's Consequences (where the lay man says it's effects)!

Your understanding on the subject is still very dark. As such, your response is incorrect.

The Gentile nations were never given the Law of Moses. It was given to the Jews. The Law of Moses is much more than the 10 commandments. It contains over 600 distinct instructions which must be kept 100%. If you break just one instruction, you have broken all. This is why Apostle Paul called it a yoke of bondage. He also called the Law of Moses, the ministry of death and condemnation.

Even if we focus on the 10 commandments, how many of us keep the commandment that has to do with the Sabbath? Under the Old Testament, breaking the commandment of Sabbath attracted death penalty.

A man who was caught just gathering sticks on a Sabbath day was stoned to death by the order of God to Moses.

Numbers 15:32-36.
32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

35 And the LORD SAID UNTO MOSES, THE MAN SHALL BE SURELY PUT TO DEATH: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.

How many of us have been put to death for breaking the Sabbath? No one because the Law of Moses is no longer in force.

Besides, circumcision, which is the most sacred ceremony the Jews keep is no longer compulsory according to the Scripture.

Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

This was the reason the Jews persecuted Apostle Paul from city to city.

The Law of Moses couldn't make men righteous. It couldn't give life. Hence Apostle wrote;

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COME BY THE LAW, then Christ is dead in vain.

Galatians 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for IF THERE HAD BEEN A LAW GIVEN WHICH COULD HAVE GIVEN LIFE, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

The Law of Moses tells you what to do but doesn't give you the ability to do it.

Romans 8:3-4
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The writer of Hebrews affirmed the weakness of the Law of Moses.

Hebrews 7:18-19.
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the WEAKNESS and UNPROFITABLENESS thereof.

19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

I have a whole book on this but it's only available on Amazon Kindle store for now.

Is The Church Under the Law of Moses - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F9Y9IL4
I still maintain that
KEN4CHRIST IS CORRECT,
DTRUTHSPEAKER IS MORE CORRECT and
GOD IS MOST CORRECT.

The laws of Moses have ritual/ceremonial laws, moral laws and the ten commandments.
The ten commandments is dividend into 2: duty to God ( i.e 1 - 4) and duty to humanity ( i.e 5 - 10) Exodus 20: 1- 17.

Moral laws e.g if you find your neighbors lost goods return them (restitution), don't ill-treat your house maids/ employees, etc: Exodus 21 and 22;

Now, the ritual laws which involve killing of animals to appease God's wrath against sin have been completely done away with.

But God does not cancel things just like that, He gave Jesus as the lamb for this ritual...
this sacrifice (the lamb) is still before Him up till now that's why He relieves us of animals sacrifices - revelation 5:6....

The Bible says that the blood of these animals could not bring lasting solution to the problem of sin... Hebrews 9: 10-15; 10: 1-10;
All the places you have been quoting up and down are pointing at the sacrifices for sin....

What I understand as the grace of God IS THE POWER OF GOD GIVEN TO HUMANITY TO ENABLE THOSE WHO BELIEVE DO/ OBEY THE WORD OF GOD OR THE LAW OF GOD, WHICH ON THEIR (humanity) OWN THEY WILL FAIL...

Another important point is that we are saved to keep the laws ( not rituals laws)
but they were to keep the laws to be safe or saved....

When they failed, they used animals sacrifice to appease God's wrath, but when we fail, we have an advocate with the Father....1 John 2:1

Well, thank you all for your suggestions, submissions and contributions; also I like the way you guys ignored the JW man who wanted to cause distractions and diversions.

Ken4christ and Dtruthspeaker you guys have not done badly.

My observation in the Word is that many questions carry the yes/no answers.
It depends on the speaker's stand point of view:

https://www.nairaland.com/5745609/trinity-explained#87772303.

In accordance with the principle of "word, positive and superlative" e.g correct, more and most correct...

I can say KEN4CHRIST IS CORRECT,
DTRUTHSPEAKER IS MORE CORRECT and
GOD IS MOST CORRECT.

This argument resembles that of "faith + grace - work" and "faith + work" taught by apostle Paul and apostle James. Ephesians 2:8-9; James 2:22-24.

If one is not careful you'll think they are saying different things but when critically looked upon, you'll find out that they are saying the same thing,
only that one person is giving us the real meaning of what the other person is saying.

The law says "thou shalt not kill"
Those under the grace are not to kill...

Somehow delivered from the laws but in reality you are keeping the laws...
this time not as a result of the fear of being stoned but for the sake of love...

Our God is very wise!

Why not. I'm praying for God to give me 2nd me or my half. Don't you know what that means.

Moreover, the Bible says " no man has ever hated himself..."
Or do you hate yourself?

you hate yourself ?

Do you agree that there are versions of the Bible that contradict the original text?

I had to find the hebrew-english Bible when I realised that even KJV and NKJV contradicted each other in some core verses.
contradict? No there's nothing like that

Should I also define who an apostate is? Apostasy simply means falling away from or deviating from a particular course, in this case, deserting the truth so if you want to keep listening to the apostates who fell away from the truth in Jehovah’s organization, it’s okay but be rest assured that no positive result will spring forth from it. Proverbs 11:9
You see them apostates, they see you apostates... who confirms who is the real apostates?

Christianity EtcRe: I Was Sent Out Of The Church And Banned From Attending It Today by KNOWMORE56: 12:08pm On Mar 12, 2021
RICHSATAN:
So i was bored and decided to attend this well know popular church in VI.
my intention was to go look for pussy though as i am not christian or even religious.
i came very early. i was among the first 5 people to be ushered in. my seat was directly in front of the pulpit.
there i was a 6foot 2 jacked and looking very rich dude, the eyes of all the female choristers female ushers and the pastors wife was on me.
atleast of nothing about me distracted them, my solid gold rolex watch was enough to do the magic.
at some point i felt a little uncomfortable with all these eyes on me.
as a satanist that i proudly am, i had to make sure i was in control of the situation.
just in church, i had already given my number to like 2 top notch girls and another one that was bold enough to walk up to me and give me her number while i was on my way out.
yes i came prepared. i had my cards fully stacked in all my pockets and my bible.

ok, now let me go why i was kicked out. it had nothing to do with the girls lol. i know that is where your dirty mind went to.
the pastor was talking about how god makes his children stay disease free and rich and bla bla bla.
luckily for me today was a day when they had this session where they allow members to ask questions.
i saw 2 people ask irrelevant question and the pastor answered without kicking them out.
when it was time for the next one , i raised my hand together with others that did so too. i was lucky to have been picked by the pastor to ask my question.
before i asked, i asked him , pastor am i allowed to ask anything i feel is of concern to me?
he said yes as long as i do not use vulgar words.
i was so excited because i have been waiting for this point for a long while now.
this is exactly what i said.....
pastor , on your sermon you talked about good health , riches etc for those that believe in god and jesus christ.
you even talked about how shedrach machech and abedigo feed on their own food and looked better than the people feeding on the kings food.
you talked how u have stayed for 10years without taking a medicine or got sick.
these things are what i want to talk about.
i feel you are deceiving these gullible members.
omo at this point the male usher wanted to snatch my mic, but the pastor asked him to allow me/
i continued...pastor , i am sure u live in a very posh and comfortable apartment in VI. so there are no mosquitoes, no bugs, there are no disease spreading insects around. i am also sure u feed properly and take some top notch supplements couple with frequent health checkups. etc.
with all this in place and the peace of mind you have, the possibility of you ever getting sick is almost 0.
majority of these people u are preaching this to dont have all these at their disposal, they live in bad environments , they eat bad food and cant afford the supplements u take or medical checkups u pay for regularly.
please stop deceiving these people people by telling them it is god bla ba bla..
omo at this point the pastor got angry and asked them to collect my mic and walk me out that i am sent by one of his enemies bla bla bla lmao.
my question is what i said is t wrong? do i deserve to be sent out like that?
did i break any rule as a non christian?
The philosophies that the children of God are using are different from the ones others are using.
All the things you listed in your post that the pastor may likely be enjoying can never be said to be the number 1 reason for him to be healthy, NO!
These were not the things that made Methuselah lived 969 years - Genesis 5:27 ( approximately a millennium)...

The children of Israel fought in the battle and won the victory ( i.e according to human sense of reasoning), but God told them to return all glory to Him; (actually it's God who fought and won for them):

*. Deuteronomy 8: 10 "KJV:When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
11
KJV: BEWARE THAT THOU FORGET NOT THE LORD THY GOD, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
12
KJV: LEST WHEN THOU HAST EATEN AND ART FULL, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
14
KJV: THEN THINE HEART BE LIFTED UP, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage,
17
KJV: AND THOU SAY IN THINE HEART, MY POWER AND THE MIGHT OF MINE HAND HATH GOTTEN ME THIS WEALTH."

note:
"BEWARE THAT THOU FORGET NOT THE LORD THY GOD... LEST WHEN THOU HAST EATEN AND ART FULL...THEN THINE HEART BE LIFTED UP...: AND THOU SAY IN THINE HEART, MY POWER AND THE MIGHT OF MINE HAND HATH GOTTEN ME THIS WEALTH."

This is the same reason Christians don't claim to be holy and righteous ( although they are)... acts 3:12; 1 John 3: 8-10. you

It is all by the grace of God!...
