Valkrie:Bump. Excerpts: It is also pertinent to educate you that Kaduna State is a cosmopolitan state with indigenes having their roots from Yoruba, Igbo, and even Ebira which you are rumoured to have your root from. However, mindless of that we the indigenes of Kaduna State still found you qualified and competent to be our governor today. |
adamusuleiman1:Those are insights from 2021 data. |
Slytiger:Arthur Nzeribe from Oguta in Imo State is the one who was actually selling weapons as an arms dealer to both the Federal Government and the rebel secessionist during the Nigerian Civil War, NOT Arthur Eze from who is from Anambra. (Arthur Eze also got oil from the deep offshore after the 1993 bidding for deep offshore oil blocks at the same time just like the savvy billionaire and former banker with IMB, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija who later struck oil and gas with her international partners from her Agbami Oilfield). |
renderme:This is where I FIRST read of the Nigerian-American, Dr. Adebayo Ogunlesi's billionaire status in the list of 22 Black African descent USD billionaires worldwide, as confirmed by Bloomberg Billionaires Index. =>https://www.blackentrepreneurprofile.com/collections/black-billionaires Excerpts: "According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mr. Ogunlesi, serving as the Chairman and Managing Partner of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), holds an estimated 17.5% stake in the company, resulting in a net wealth of around $2.3 billion based on the acquisition price." Second source is here: =>https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/blackrock-deal-mints-gip-fortunes-led-by-ogunlesi-s-billions-1.2021533.amp.html Third source is here: https://punchng.com/ogunlesis-net-worth-hits-2-3bn-after-gip-sale-report/ 'Tope Awotona of "Calendry" too is listed in the first Website I gave here as a USD billionaire alongside Adebayo Ogunlesi. They are however both listed as Nigerian-Americans NOT full Nigerian citizens and USD billionaires like Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Isyaku-Rabiu, and 'Femi Otedola. =>https://www.blackentrepreneurprofile.com/collections/black-billionaires This clarifies my original point on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Dr. 'Bayo Ogunlesi's USD billionaire status. |
Cubeman:I'm really surprised by your summations here which is very revealing. I know the Governor of Kwara (who is also a USD multimillionaire (billionaire in Naira) oil and gas mogul and the son of AbdulGaniyu Folorunso AbdulRazaq, the first ever lawyer in the whole of the Old Northern Region of Nigeria) to be a well-traveled man haven lived in the very well-planned West African city of Abidjan in Cote d'Ivoire and other well-planned cities worldwide. I don't know whether lethargy has set in for him but he should realize that history will judge him badly if they do NOT reconstruct that road crooked in Igbaja with proper covered drainages on both sides. The Governor of Ogun State (Prince 'Dapo Abiodun) too is a USD multimillionaire oil and gas mogul, yet the folks in Ogun have been screaming offline and offline about bad roads, although he constructed some roads in his Ijebu area of Ogun East in his first term. I'm beginning to now think that sometimes, having some super-rich people as Governors might NOT lead to quick development and innovation if that person is NOT motivated or hungry enough to be of service to his society... Even though these 2 men are successful oil and gas moguls. The indigenes of Kwara and Ogun States and even lovers of development really have to embark on online and offline "naming and shaming" of these Governors and their Commissioners of Works for doing a bad job in terms of roads and infrastructure. |
DyshApp:This naive girl is probably a product of paternity fraud herself. *Sarcasm* |
AngelicBeing:Indeed @AngelicBeing, it's good to know that you remember "The Adventures of Mighty Mouse" cartoon series from the early 1980s which was popular... even before Voltron and other cartoon series with more advanced animation appeared on the TV screens. Cheers! |
iamdrjosh:Damn! This sh*t called paternity fraud is for real. The winds are blowing out of control. NEVER trust nobody in romantic and non-romantic relationships until proven worthy. |
Glimpsetv:That's a big bang paternal DNA revelation... Better late than NEVER though. |
LordGuru1:That's a brilliant post. Just 2 days ago, I made reference to the use of off-grid and scalable micro and mini-hydro turbines in my convo with 2 posters here on NL. People are not thinking outside the box with regards to generating their own personal off-grid power solutions and keep complaining about high tariffs back in Nigeria. Even scalable off-grid wind turbines have gained momentum in use globally for individual use in homes and communities. Last but not least, I agree with you on your summations with reference to the many rivers in the West of Nigeria. Since 1982, the Federal Governmemt hasn't completed the construction of the hydroelectric dam project in Oyo State (Ikere Gorge Dam in Iseyin LGA) which would also have served as a source of dry season irrigation for agriculture in Oyo State and surrounding states. That dam project has been abandoned with the installed imported equipment from Germany since the 1980s and the current FG-led by President Tinubu has to finish it ASAP and other abandoned projects around Nigeria. =>https://businessday.ng/exclusives/article/reviving-the-abandoned-smaller-hydro-electric-projects-in-nigeria/ |
nlfpmod:Taiwan lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire🔥which stretches to California. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan is huge. |
OboOlora:Your "bore friend" who's married already... You're not serious are you? *Smirk* =>https://myvantagebook.com/olumide-soyombo-the-journey-from-startup-founder-to-investment-mogul/ |
renderme:Adebayo Ogunlesi who is a Nigerian-American is rated as a USD billionaire on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index as of 2024. So, his name ought to be on the Forbes USD billionaires list of the richest black people. |

franchasofficia:Your last paragraph is NOT absolutely correct. Some Yorubas were brought to Haiti and the nearby Spanish colony now called Dominican Republic. Other ethnicities that were brought to Haiti are the Hausa, Mandingo, Akan, and more. Based on slave ship records, MOST of the Africans who were brought into Haiti before 1800 were from the current Benin and Togo region and the Congo region. The Congo people were brought into Haiti last in large numbers towards the start of the Haitian revolution which led to the French colonists being kicked and some fled to Louisiana. It's in majorly Cuba, Venezuela, Trinidad, and Brazil that you have a strong presence of Yorubas who were majorly brought from Nigeria and Benin Republic in the late 1700s but majorly in the 1800s after the Haitian Revolution blocked the plantation slavery and sugar cultivation. |

adamusuleiman1:The fine given by this Judge to the asinine girl is too low and completely unacceptable. The 3 years in jail and/or a heavier monetary fine should have been upheld to deter more of these kids online who engaged in relentless criminal online defamation, cyberbullying and ethnic bigotry. |
macof:That's impressive. The Yoruba word Oga was listed in the 1857 Yoruba dictionary by Ajayi Crowther. In addition, Olusoga is one of the Yoruba names that have Oga (or Master/Boss in it). The founder of Oko Odu (Ikorodu) centuries ago is known as Oko Odu Oga (i.e., Oko Odu the Master). This is the reason why Ikorodu is fully known as "Ikorodu Oga" as of today. This is exactly how some highly dishonest young Ibos on NL 2 days ago on a frontpage thread blatantly lied that Egusi is not a Yoruba word but from their language. Fortunately well-read folks of Yoruba descent took all of them to the cleaners when it was CLEARLY shown that EGUNSI (EGUSI) is a Yoruba word that was already recorded in the first Yoruba-English dictionary published in 1843! The first Ibo dictionary by Bishop Crowther in 1888 however had NO Egusi or even Egwusi listed in it and subsequent editions simply because ELILI or Enini are the original Ibo names for melon (Egusi). =>https://www.nairaland.com/8047476/igbo-soups-all-nigerian-tribes The final blow to the relentless liars among the young Ibos who SHAMEFULLY do not know their own history came when the screenshot of the Longman Ibo dictionary were uploaded on that thread and the Longman entry under Egusi CLEARLY showed that the IBOS got the word Egusi as a LOAN word from the Yor (Yorubas). The entry also referenced Elili as the ACTUAL Ibo name for the Yoruba word Egusi. That also AFFIRMED that Egusi soup has been eaten in Yorubaland for centuries. These are facts that older Ibo scholars such as J.C. Echeruo who contributed to that Longman in Ibo dictionary already knew... That EGUSI is an original Yoruba word. =>https://www.nairaland.com/8047476/igbo-soups-all-nigerian-tribes/1 Kudos to the Yoruba folks for having a Westernized and educated elite and middle class in the 1800s and for documenting their linguistic and cultural histories as far back as the 1800s which have enabled the ability to debunk the inciting LIES and historical FORGERIES by cultural thieves among the younger Ibos trying to STEAL and claim Yoruba words as theirs.

TouchNfollow:Tbh, this crooked-looking road looks like something from a "Mighty Mouse" cartoon scene on TV from back in the 1980s. The Governor of that state should NEVER be associated with this kinda road and there MUST be state-wide standards in road construction given to credible contractors. The contractor that constructed this cartoonish road has to account for how he spent the funds to construct a substandard road like this as of 2024 and get punished for it! |
