I can still remember the news reports when George Shultz came. The marines weren't part of his motorcade, neither were they there to guard him directly (that was the job of the Secret Service). Rather, they arrived a few days beforehand with sniffer dogs and other equipment and began screening people that were going through the airport. That's exactly what annoyed Nigerian journalists. I remember that Vanguard had a huge front page headline about the incident. They said that it was a shame and that the government should never have allowed it.
Great feedback Naptu2! grin

U.S. Marine sniffer dogs screening
folks in a supposed Sovereign
Nation... What kinda cockiness is that? SMH.

The Star Wars Program was in
full swing then and it ensured a
sort of American cockiness after the Vietnam War misadventure and the eventual pullout of the final U.S. presence in 1975.

grin That was one of the advantages of FFK when he was minister of aviation.

Ghaddafi had a habit of pulling a similar stunt, but FFK refused to allow it when he was minister. It led to a standoff.

There's usually an agreed number of armed bodyguards that are allowed by the host country, but the Libyans brought more than the agreed amount and wanted them to be allowed into Abuja. Airport security refused. There was a standoff and Ghaddafi began walking away from the airport on foot. President Obasanjo was finally able to pacify Ghaddafi and a solution was reached, but the Libyans were still not allowed to bring all those armed women into Abuja.

I remember when George Shultz came to Nigeria in 1986 or '87 and US Marines took over the Murtala Muhammed Airport a few days before his arrival. There were angry articles in the newspapers condemning the government for allowing the marines to take over our airport.

Lots of US secretaries of state have visited since then, the latest being Rex Tillerson in 2018 (Pic 1).

We believe spirit exist. Traditional atheists disbleieve in God but we try to define our God as energy or force or spirits in nature. Some tends to call this spirit consciousness, psyche, ultimate mind, God or whatever, we understand.

Also, spiritual atheist engage in kind of spirituality without God (defined as human). Our spiritualism like Fela said is To be spiritual is not by praying and going to church. Spiritualism is the understanding of the universe so that it can be a better place to live in.

Anacondas are not as dangerous as portrayed in the movies. It's very dangerous when it attacked unaware. You can even use your hand to carry a big one, but you'll trace its head from the tail till you get to its head because it response to stimuli is extremely slow, and no matter how big it is, if you successfully grab its head, it can't do anything again (don't try this though).
One things people don't understand is that, the bigger the snake the easier to kill it, I fear smaller snakes more. With a well filled cutlass, you'll defeat an anaconda, but you have to have courage sha, just make sure you give it a wound first, it'll be weak to fight.
*NOTE* NEVER FIGHT AN ANACONDA INSIDE THE WATER, IF YOU DO, JUST BE READY TO SAY YOUR GOODBYE FOREVER!!!!

which of the tribes got the most handsome individuals?
@Candidlady

The word tribe is an offensive and derogatory word which connotes primitivity.

Ethnic group is the appropriate
modern dictionary word you ought
to use in your posts.

Second, I think it is NOT right to
compare which one of the 3
biggest ethnicities has the most
handsome men (or even women)
if you haven't sampled a large
pool of men.

There are very handsome men
in all the ethnicities in Nigeria
and average-looking men, and
ugly men also exist among the
3 ethnicities.

I've had massive interactions
with folks from these ethnic
groups in the North, PH and
the West of Nigeria. I attended
an FGC in a major city in the
North decades ago while living
in Lagos, and lived/worked in
PH with a multinational.

Over 90% of Ibos are dark
brown-skinned and NOT light-skinned, but you'll notice that gullible people who are not well-travelled have a ridiculous
habit of thinking that everybody
who is light-skinned is from the
SE. A significant number of
Edos, Yorubas, Ibibios, Ebiras, Idomas, etc, that I've met are naturally light-skinned based
on family genetics.

"I love your boobs," Alfred murmured. After a moment, Biola snapped out of it. What happened? Oh, my God. He raped me and I orgasmed from it. Wait, we did not have sex. He just...he just played with my boobs and...oh God, this has to end. "Alfred, listen, you did something amazing there with my boobs, but I'm married. I didn't want you to suck on ... did what you did there ..." Her voice trailed off as she looked at the young boss. He was looking seriously at her. She felt naked and vulnerable. Her boobs were there for him to see. He was fully dressed in shirt and loosened tie. Her boobs were wet with saliva. There were even bruises from where the passion had been extremely intense. "That does it Biola," Alfred said seriously. "I'm going to do what I want with your boobs whenever i want to, from now on. You will have a raise if you want. But that's my condition, not just for the raise, but for you to continue working here."
The suspense in this story
is awesome and very vivid. I commend the book and author.

This further amplified in my
mind what women go through sometimes in the work place. I
wish 'Biola had recorded the convo with that Alfred, and turned the table on the younger dude.

Whiteangel1234:
Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, popularly known as ‘meth’ in Igbo land or crystal meth/Ice in some parts of Lagos state, comes in clear crystal chunks or shiny blue-white rocks. This new dangerous drug as reported by NDLEA is already sending Nigerian youths to their graves.

meth is a very addictive stimulant drug.

Video

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1045719049577068&id=100024169492631
grin grin grin... Hilarious.

On a more serious note, it is the
criminal Ibo drug barons who
produce methamphetamine (in
illegal laboratories spread in
Anambra, Imo, Asaba, Lagos)
that should be flogged!

The NDLEA has over the last 20 years arrested many of these criminal Ibo drug barons who are all mostly from Anambra for setting up methamphetamine labs in
Nnewi, Asaba, Owerri, Lagos.

In Lagos State, the illegal methamphetamine labs were set up in residential areas of Ajao Estate in Isolo, Satellite Town, Iba New Site, etc, by these idiots with dubious chieftaincy titles claiming to be millionaire traders at Alaba International, Ojo, Lagos. The
by-products from the meth labs
are very toxic for the residents
of those residential estates
because of CANCER and severe
BRAIN damage from meth production fumes inhalation, and underground
water contamination from the
disposal of meth waste in holes dug in the ground by these greedy drug dealer and barons.

One of those the NDLEA arrested
few years ago in Lagos stupidly built an illegal underground lab for
methamphetamine production in
his Nnewi, Anambra house where he originally comes from, and lived with his wife and children.

These are facts from newspapers
and the NDLEA that are in the public domain.

The NDLEA gave a chilling report
about 5 years ago that Owerri is now the headquarters of methamphetamine and hard
drugs consumption in South East
and the drug dealers have mainly
targeted the large student population in Owerri and other towns in the South East of Nigeria.

Death penalty is the key to dealing with these criminal drug barons!

The part in bold is one of the reasons I am so pissed at the main character in this story. She kept going on and on, about the maid and wouldn't even refer to her by her name. As if the maid is not a human being who deserves good things in life.

Some rich people have a bad and wicked mindset, they think others are not qualified to enjoy the nice things they do (like this woman). We had an office event recently and I was putting aside some refreshments for our cleaners and security guards, when one of my bosses said I shouldn't give them small chops, just sandwiches only.

It's not like we didn't have enough to go round, but in his stupid mind, cleaners and guards are not good enough for small chops. He is one of the highest paid staff on payroll, what is small chops for junior staff whose salary is not even a half of his?

Yes we do. Vantage dollar fund VDF.
You need $500 as initial deposit

VDF
The fund is an Open-ended Fixed Income Dollar Fund and will invest in Nigerian Originated Dollar Denominated assets (Sovereign and Corporates). The fund seeks to provide investors with bias for dollar denominated securities access to such securities, which ordinarily would be inaccessible to them by virtue of the minimum amount typically required to make such investments.

Key Features

· Open-ended unit trust scheme which is duly authorised registered in Nigeria

· The minimum investment amount is US$500 with additional investments in multiples of US$1.00. The Fund Manager however reserves the right to review these amounts as the need arises.

· Redemption will be paid within 5 Business Days after the relevant documents have been submitted to the Fund Manager.

· Every unit holder shall be entitled to receive from the Fund Manager an Electronic Certificate for the number of units purchased by such unit holder. The Electronic Certificate shall be conclusive evidence of the number of units held.

· The minimum holding period in the fund shall be 180 days. However, the Fund Manager is aware that investors might have need for their monies within the minimum holding period and as such would allow redemption during the minimum holding period subject to a 15% charge on the positive total return on the units being redeemed on the day of redemption.

· Dividend will be paid from the income earned to unit holders annually.

· Dividend can either be reinvested into the fund or credited into the unit holders’ bank accounts via electronic means

· Interest earned is currently between 4% to 6% per annum
What asset management
company is this? What's the

In mutual funds you pool money together with other people and interest is shared according to capital invested. We offer 3 types:
1. Paramount equity fund (high risk)
2. Women investment fund
(medium risk)
3. Money market fund (low risk/ capital remains unchanged)
If you want to play it safe, go for money market fund.

At Chapel Hill Denham we also have a dollar investment plan. Minimum of $1000 for 6 months and you'll earn interest in dollars.

Send your fact sheet

I am not a fool.

I know the names of fund managers with total asset under management of N50 billion and above

Can't even find your name in Fund Managers Association of Nigeria list

Stanbic IBTC Asset Management has over N400 billion under management

FBN Quest Asset Management has over N200 billion

United Capital Asset Management has about N195 billion.

The next is ARM with about N70 billion

Chapel Hill Denham with about N60 billion

FSDH Asset Management with about N45 billion

Guys correct me if I am wrong oooo.

Being registered by SEC, don't not mean your funds are registered
Great insights for due diligence.

How much was dollars to naira that year and how much now?
How much it cost to clear containers that year and now?

Some dealers can be greedy truly but this arguement is flawed. It will be hardly possible to get any toks car for 1m, irrespective of the year. To clear a car is just 400k or above, this is not including cost of the vehicle, shipping, cost of few repair works, if needed and the seller's profit.

The cost of ps4 when it came out was about $500, Ps5 is about same price now but it costs more for Nigerians because $500 in naira few years ago isn't same today. The same thing happens to every imported item. An item sold for $1000 6-7 years ago, which was about 167k that's time would be priced at 400k+ now, even at same $1000 price. Until naira gains more values, things will be expensive.

May God help us.
Deep insights... Thumbs up!
