Thank you for educating that garrulous guy who went off tangent with his blind hatred.

This Glencore global bribery event happened under the PDP Presidency not APC. A large number of the other stuff he blindly typed are pure embellishments. I'm ashamed of that guy's posts!

Too many ignorant people who DON'T bother to read properly are getting many likes in just one post from an equally large number of ignorant members of NL. Fortunately NL still has a significant number of sane members and deep thinkers who can spot B.S. from afar and correct anyone.

A trend is now occurring in our society with most marriages crashing within 2 to 3 months of getting married.

All what most young couples care about is getting married but not staying married. They go about sharing asoebis and spending millions of naira to get married but will quickly run away from the marriage within a twinkle of an eye.

Most of the girls still have someone that they love more but choose to marry the guy that is ready to get married immediately.

Most guys get their fingers burnt out of desperation to just get married without properly dating.

I know a recent case study now as the new wife just left him as he complained to me that the wife was picking the calls of her ex boyfriend in their matrimonial home.

He said she even goes to visit her ex when he is at work.

It is such a shame what marriage is turning to nowadays.

The victory reinforces Mr. Netanyahu’s reputation as “the magician,” as Mr. Netanyahu is known in Israel, for his ability to stage repeated comebacks. This is a record five wins of six for Bibi.

Tuesday’s election was the fifth time Israelis have gone to the polls since 2019.

In order to lead the government in Israel, a party has to win a majority of 61 seats — the magic number — in Parliament. If that isn't attainable, the party with the most seats has to negotiate alliances with other parties to form a coalition. (Bibi & right-wing allies have 65 of the 120-seat Knesset with almost all votes counted).

I didn't realise you were back online.
Greaaaat feedback!... and Happy
New Month to you.

I've had been off using this moniker for a while on NL and when I came back, you were one of those my mind flashed to and I had to follow your moniker some weeks back.

You read accounting, so as a nerdy babe like you who is bespectacled, I'm not surprised that you have a photographic memory or the power of memory recall. I get it... So, if you and I are married for instance, is that how you'll go and dig up the littlest of my infractions in an arguement, and then proceed to give me LOW BLOWS? Lol.

Oh wow! So, you are now in the "detox phase."Lol Don't tell me you did the same "deletion detox" for your other older (or main NL) moniker that you said you had.

Did you at least save the Web page texts that you typed on NL on your laptop for future reference before deleting?

What are you detoxifying that you had to deprive us of memories that you typed here. Huh? For me though, I will never deactivate my moniker after spending so much time and energy to type here.

But seriously though, I like the fact that you emphasized on saving time while on NL, and that it made you feel good. I myself majorly use
NL as an online tool for business intelligence, data mining, and I have met some fantastic folks from all over the world here since I originally joined NL in 2005 with an older moniker before this one.

I can identify your use of the Pareto Principle (otherwise known as the 80/20 principle) here to manage your daily schedule or time. You're very smart.

Last but not least, yeah! The love language convos aspect, I tend to resonate with all 5 of them like I hinted you in November last year, but I majorly gravitate towards 3 of them:

1. Acts of service
2. Words of affirmation
3. Quality time (going on sight
seeing, etc, but I'm an ambivert though).

*Physical touch is the 4th which encompasses 'cuddles' and more.

*Acts of giving (gifts) is the 5th.

So, each individual has what he or she responds to, or gets motivated by in relationships and this is one of the missing major elements that have led to vicious break-ups.

Send my check in the mail of $500/hr.

Nice that you're doing okay at work and in life... and maybe we can hang out some time, if your bf will not start getting jealous.

Take care... Ciao.wink

Ilekokonit:
Once husband and wife sleep in different beds or in different rooms, the marriage is almost over and may not last for very long

Husband and wife have no business sleeping in different beds or in different rooms.

The excuse some women give is that they are nursing a baby who must breast feed through the night and thats a fair point but at some point, the baby will stop feeding on breast milk and at that point, the baby can go and sleep in his or her cot and not in the parents marital bed and after some time he or she or they if twins have to go and sleep in their own room and let Mum and Dad have the needed private time so that they can bond if their young marriage is to survive long after their children have left home (which they will someday).

But the mistake a lot of women make is to over prioritize their time with their baby / toddler to the detriment of their marriage. Why go into a marriage when at the first sign of a baby, the wife imports the baby permanently into her marital bed under the guise of breastfeeding and in some cases even when the child is more than 3 years old, he or she is still sleeping beside the mum at night and often times the man has been stylishly shunted to sleeping in another room and even if chairman wan nack during the day, the 3 year old child is furiously banging on the door for the parents to open the door because the child has been made to always feel he or she has to be beside the Mum.

But wives who want their marriage to last will know where to draw the line and give unto Caesar what is Caesar's in a TIMELY manner.

A word is enough for the wise woman who wants her marriage to last way past when the kids will have left home to start their own families.
Nice post.

Balance is the key here. grin

IMHO, having separate rooms creates privacy when needed for the couple... and that keeps the relationship fresh! Then whenever you wanna get busy with each other you can then share the same room (i.e., without any iota of intrusion from the kids). Period.

We are looking at having 3 to 4 bedrooms here... (i.e., Master room, bae's room, children's room, guest room).

Most would go back to Nigeria to pick wife last last

Sincerely,i usually pity Nigerian men here, especially immigrants. Most of them are suffering. Even most people in this country already has boyfriends from Highschool, there are ASIANS,French Jews, they are the richest immigrants and they have males more than enough for the girls. Men trained with over silver spoons are plenty, the men are also very handsome, with beautiful hairs, white girls go leave those ones dey date one black immigrant that speak bad wannabe accent who is still struggling. Those white girls don't even speak to them, you can hardly even meet them as they are usually in high places, na fellow immigrant they meet immigrant

Founder of Tinkoff jar Oleg Tinkov decided to withdraw from the Russian citizenship. He published the relevant reference document dated October 26 on Instagram. This is the fifth member of the Forbes list who renounced Russian citizenship in 2022.

“I am ashamed to have this passport,” Tinkov wrote.

Billionaire banker says he will not be associated ‘with a fascist country’ that is ‘killing innocent people daily’.

The banking tycoon shared a picture of a certificate confirming the “ending” of his Russian citizenship.

“I hate Putin’s Russia, but love all Russians who are clearly against this crazy war!” Tinkov said, according to AFP news agency.

Tinkov is the founder of the online Tinkoff Bank, one of Russia’s largest lenders counting some 20 million customers. His upstart digital credit card company, TCS Group Holding, grew to become one of Russia’s largest financial institutions. Business › Re: Ayodele Subair: 70% Of Lagos IGR Comes From Taxes by Konquest: 3:02am On Nov 03, 2022
dipoolowoo:
By Dipo Olowookere

The executive chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Mr Ayodele Subair, has said about 70 per cent of the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) comes from taxes paid by individuals and organisations doing business in the metropolis.

Mr Subair made this disclosure when he received the Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspapers, Mr Ayodele Aminu, and the Daily Editor of the media platform, Ms Juliet Bumah, in his office in Alausa, recently.

The management of the Daily Telegraph Publishing Company Limited, publishers of New Telegraph Newspapers, visited the LIRS chief to inform him of the decision to honour him with an award of leadership excellence at a ceremony to be held later in the year.

Mr Aminu said the LIRS boss was chosen because of his remarkable contributions to the development of the state and the country, especially in the tax sector.

But Mr Subair attributed the tax revolution in Lagos State to the former Governor of the state and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections, Mr Bola Tinubu, saying he contributed to the significant boost to the Lagos IGR.

“He is the father of this tax revolution in Lagos State. So, we must always give him that credit. Since he made the LIRS board autonomous, the numbers have been leaping in bounds, and we hope to continue on that trajectory because we have to provide the funding for the state.

“The incumbent Governor (Babajide Sanwo-Olu) has been very supportive of our innovations and fresh ideas in tax administration in Lagos State,” he said.

The LIRS leader said Mr Tinubu must be commended for having the vision to “create some independent agencies like the LIRS and making the state less reliant on the federal government’s allocation.”

Speaking on the award, Mr Subair noted, “The joy is when there is a bit of recognition, then you feel justified, you feel happy that you have spent all those long hours burning candles at night and so forth justifiably. I’m very pleased that you have deemed it fit to honour the agency and me. I assure you that management would be well represented at the award ceremony, God’s willing.”

“It is a moment like this that we feel very glad we have put ourselves at the service of our dear state. We usually don’t get any recognition internally or externally; rather, it is you can always do better. But in our world, our numbers speak for themselves.

“In your letter, you said we almost doubled our internal revenue generation since the inception of our tenure, but in fact, it’s more than double,” he added.

While commending the staff of the LIRS for their dedication and steadfastness, the LIRS boss said, “We are delighted that we have been able to achieve all those things. It’s all from dedicated leadership and followership.

“The staff plays a very big role in making our numbers rise. Management directs and formulates the policies and all the various processes that generate such income, but at the same time, we need to commend the foot soldiers; they are the ones out in the field who help us to advocate for taxpayers to try and be tax compliant, to respect the social contracts, and to understand that if they want the state to improve in terms of provision of infrastructure and quality services, they also need to contribute.”

Mr Subair advised Nigerians, especially Lagos residents, not to relent in their duties by paying their taxes regularly and diligently as it would help the government provide infrastructure and social amenities as attainable in developed countries.

“Everybody goes to the UK, U.S and they are all marvelled at the level of their infrastructure, good road network, free education, electricity and all other things. All these are made possible because the people are highly tax-compliant in that clime. Nobody is chasing anyone about paying taxes.

“If you don’t pay tax, the sanctions are there. People go to jail. There are no two ways about it. But unfortunately, in Africa, extending to Nigeria and Lagos, people don’t want to pay taxes.

“Yes, globally, people don’t want to pay; if they could avoid it, they would avoid it, So it makes our job very difficult and trickier,” he noted.

The LIRS chairman said while tax is the most sustainable revenue, it took the federal government so long to start looking inward as tax is funding the operations of the federal government right now.

“The federal government is not getting much from the oil industry like before. So it is just what FIRS is doing that is helping. Likewise, in Lagos, all the federal receipts have gone down considerably, so it’s mostly what we are generating here and some other revenue-generating agencies,” he said.

Phones › Re: 6 Things That Matter While Buying Mobile Accessories! by Konquest: 10:15pm On Oct 12, 2022
Eyanbahose:
Mobile is one of the most common and important thing that we use in our daily life routine. In the present time, smart phone users demand more and more functionality in their device so that they can avail the advantage of advanced functionalities with their smart phones.
Accessories are the best way to enhance the mobile functionalities. Purchase of mobile accessories can enhance the functionality only when they are selected accurately. You need to make the selection of accessories very carefully so that you can get best results of mobile accessories purchase.

1) Money Matters: Market is filled with a huge variety of mobile accessories. When you have to make a selection of accessories, you need to be aware of the market. You need to understand that the phone accessories are available in a varied price range. So, first you will need to set a budget that you can afford to spend on the purchase of mobile accessories and then you will need to check the prices of accessories to make the selection.

2) Quality is imperative: There are some accessories that will cost you very little but the features usually attract customers to purchase these accessories even when the accessories are not branded or trusted. You need to make sure that the accessory is branded or semi-branded and durable. Features will not be of any use if the accessory does not have the advantage of quality and durability. This is a necessary aspect while choosing mobile accessories. E.g Oraimo accessories.

3) Branded / semi-branded / unbranded What are you looking for? If you can afford lavish life style then you buy branded products - for example Apple, Samsung etc, however if you want value for money product at a shoestring budget, then semi branded products like Oraimo etc would be preferable. Buying unbranded items is risky, because they will imitate or look like semi branded products but the quality difference will be substantial and you can tell the difference in features while using it or from the durability.

4) Features and functionality: Functions enhancement is the basic purpose of mobile phone accessories. So, you need to look for the best and advanced accessories if you want to avail the advantage of the best features and functionalities in it.

5) Warranty & Product Return: When you will look for functions and brand of the product, you must not forget to look for the warranty of the product. Warranty will give you an assurance of product durability. Every product has different return policy as per company's terms. Therefore, you need to check the return policy of company before you make your decision.

6) User Friendly: Along with the brand, price and quality, checking for user friendly features of a product has its significant impact on making a decision to buy. For instance, a smart watch cannot be called smart if it does not have user friendly product design and features. A USB pen drive with an additional feature of key chain holder, adds convenience to carry. Whether it is basic or additional feature, a user friendly product saves time and adds value to money.

Foreign Affairs › Re: As Europe Falls Into Recession, Russia Climbs Out by Konquest: 9:58pm On Oct 12, 2022
Teaser4:
These days people in Russia do not have much to boast about—so they take what they can get. Social-media trolls are posting videos, intended for European audiences, showing gas stoves left on full blast for days on end. What might cost hundreds of euros in Berlin or Paris this winter costs a few roubles in Moscow.

The taunting may be childish, but it hints at a deeper truth: that the economic war between Russia and the West is at a delicate moment. While Europe teeters on the brink of a deep recession, the economic situation in Russia is improving.

Western sanctions, launched in response to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in February, have wounded Russia’s long-term economic prospects. Blocking the world’s ninth-largest economy from accessing foreign technology and expertise has cut its growth potential by as much as half, forecasts suggest. Output of oil and gas, the lifeblood of the Russian economy, is about 3% lower than it was before the invasion and may fall further once European embargoes come into effect at the turn of the year.

In the first six months of the war somewhere in the region of 250,000 to 500,000 Russians fled the country, reckons Liam Peach of Capital Economics, a consultancy. Lots were highly educated and well paid.

Mr Putin’s recent decision to launch a partial mobilisation has dealt a further economic blow. It provoked a mini-bank run as people once again worried about the future of the country.

By our estimates Russians pulled out $14bn-worth of rouble deposits in September, about a third as much as in February. Another 300,000 or so Russians have probably fled. A further reduction in the labour force is worsening worker shortages, compounding Russia’s inflation problem. Headline inflation is sharply down from its peak, but price pressure in the labour-intensive services sector is getting worse

Despite these difficulties, the recession has probably now come to an end. Many people doubt official gdp data, but it is possible to get a sense of activity from a range of sources. Goldman Sachs, a bank, produces a “current-activity indicator”, which suggests how economies are doing from month to month.

The data indicate that Russian activity is quite a bit livelier than it is in big European countries (see chart). A spending measure produced by Sberbank, another bank, wobbled following the mobilisation decree but has since edged back up.

Output in the car industry, which a few months ago had practically fallen to zero, has also bounced back, suggesting that producers have managed to source supplies from outside the West. In dollar terms Russia’s monthly goods imports now almost certainly exceed last year’s average.

In its latest forecasts, published on October 11th, the IMF upgraded Russia’s economic prospects for this year. In April it thought that Russian gdp would fall by 8.5%. It now expects a decline of 3.4%. This is nothing to gloat about, but it is manageable. Indeed, the economic data suggest that Russia will be able to keep fighting.

In late September the government put out a draft budget for 2023 to 2025. According to Elina Ribakova of the Institute of International Finance, an industry group, the budget implies large increases in war-related spending in the coming years—particularly on internal “security”. Having avoided economic collapse, Mr Putin expects to double down, both abroad and at home.

The world has been on a bullrun since 2009 fuelled by Fed printing money, and a major Covid fiscal response that accelerated the cycle to it's end. The cycle is simply over. If Trump is lucky, he would have skipped the hard part and return in 2024 when the cycle has started to turn upward, just like Clinton skipped the hard part of the Savings and Loans crisis and entered on the upturn, then handed over to Bush II just before the Tech bubble downturn.
