Christianity EtcRe: What Was The Forbidden Fruit? by lafile(m): 9:32am On May 15, 2007
@ Maxpecas.
Interesting theory, though filled with flaws.
1. Sex does not grow on trees.
Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

God went to such great lenght to clearly state that the forbidden fruit was on a tree. there is even a geographic description.

2.
maxpecas:
It is like they had sex and after their Climax they felt guilty about it. Typical of unauthorized sex, ain't it! you feel guilty after enjoying it.
unauthorized sex between husband and wife?

3.
maxpecas:
how else will you explain Adam and Eve realising that they were both naked after eating the Forbidden Fruit. It is like they had sex
maxpecas:
hence their realisation that they were naked. why was their nudity the first thing they realized?
What gave you the idea that this was the first time they knew they were naked?
Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

They were not blind. The only difference is that by eating the fruit they now had the knowledge of Good and evil, therefore unable to depend on God for discernment.

4. Reading Genesis 3 carefully, you'll notice they ate the fruit separately. You do not have sex separately. Notice also that the attributes of the tree (and by extension its fruit) do not allude to sex.
3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Christianity EtcRe: Interfaith Marriages? by lafile(m): 3:02pm On May 14, 2007
JJay1:
I'm a practising muslim married to an ordained pastor lady and we actually dated for about 7 years before getting married and funningly religion has not and will not be an issue, as long as we raise the kids in the righteous path to respect people of other colour, faith and denominations especially living in a city like London which is the largest collection of people of different faith and race.
Quite interesting.
However I wonder how a true christian and a devout muslim can live happily together when the christian believes (based on the bible) that her muslim husband is hell-bound. The Muslim believes his christian wife is decieving herself (according to the koran, jesus did not die for her sins) and he still tells her i love you.

Christianity EtcRe: Archbishop Peter Akinola Is In Time's 100 Most Influential People 2007 by lafile(m): 1:38pm On May 08, 2007
This, in my opinion, is a very simple matter. If your church openly and unapologeticaly breaks away from standard christian teaching well enshrined in the bible, do you (a) Come to a compromise and fellowship side by side so as not to cause division (b) pretend they have done nothing wrong or (c) break away

Christianity EtcRe: Archbishop Peter Akinola: Stiring Revival Or Causing Division? by lafile(op): 10:05am On May 07, 2007
pilgrim.1:
It doesn't appear that Archbishop Akinola is pushing for a new denomination.

Let us not forget the fact that those who preempted the ordination of gay bishops are at the center of the rift. Challenging that interjection cannot be interpreted as causing a division.
I totally agree with you. Homosexuality is essentially anti God. For a body that proffeses to be a Church of God to not only condone homosexuality but to actively promote it, is in itself a divisive move. I believe Peter Akinola is only trying trying to unite the church by alienating the blasphemous bunch of episcopals.
Christianity EtcRe: Do U Prefer To Be Servant Of God by lafile(m): 9:42am On May 07, 2007
@ babs, firdaus4us
It doesn't make sense to just say 'Do you prefer to be called servant of God?'. There has to be options, so we can understand the perspective you are talking from. Its like a waiter saying 'do you prefer rice'. When babs says but tell us which you prefer he himself indicates that there are options to choose from. I am asking 'which do i prefer between what and what?'

Christianity EtcArchbishop Peter Akinola: Stiring Revival Or Causing Division? by lafile(op): 11:17am On May 03, 2007
Archbishop Peter Akinola rose to worldwide prominence in 2005, when he courageously spoke against the ordination of gay bishops in the american episcopal church. Peter Akinola, 63, head of the anglican church in Nigeria, also leads 37 million Anglicans as chair of the Anglican Church in Africa. Recently, two of the oldest and largest church congregations in the US (the Episcopalian parishes of Truro Church and The Falls Church in Falls Church, Virginia) voted to bring themselves under his authority. Why? Because they disagreed with the ordaining of Gay bishops by the Episcopal Church. At first, he proposed that Nigerians in America who oppose what they see as the Episcopal Church's liberal attitude could join a branch of his church in the US. But now it seems even US congregations are keen to join. On Saturday May 5th, Archbishop Akinola will ordain Truro Church Rector Martyn Minns the head of the Fairfax, Va.,-based Convocation of the Anglicans in North America. The Episcopalian parishes of Truro Church and The Falls Church in Falls Church, Va., plan to place themselves under the leadership of Anglican Archbishop Peter Akinola of Nigeria.

However, opposition to this move is growing. The presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori has asked Nigerian Archbishop Peter Akinola not to install Minns to head a new denomination. She said such action would violate the ancient customs of the church and set back efforts of reconciliation that are taking place in the Episcopal Church and in the Anglican Communion as a whole.

The Rt. Rev. Peter James Lee is Bishop of Virginia said "The Church of Nigeria, like The Episcopal Church, is an autonomous province of the Anglican Communion with clearly defined boundaries. Bonds of affection in the Anglican Communion hold that provincial boundaries are not crossed by bishops without expressed invitation. Bishop Akinola’s effort to establish the Church of Nigeria within the boundaries of The Episcopal Church through something called the Convocation of Anglicans of North America (CANA) has occurred without any invitation or authorization whatsoever and violates centuries of established Anglican heritage. As the Archbishop of Canterbury has made clear, CANA is not a branch of the Anglican Communion and does not have his encouragement. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori also has expressed her concerns over the visit by Bishop Akinola without invitation, a violation of a centuries old practice and decorum"

So what do you think? Is Archbishop Akinola leading a revival in the American Anglican/Episcopal Church or stiring up division in the church?
BusinessRe: Your First Experience With An ATM Card? by lafile(m): 10:36am On Apr 30, 2007
The first time was ok, nothing special\

The first time using a Zenith Bank ATM was pure wahala. The thing kept ejecting my card after entering my PIN. Thot there was a problem, until i asked the old security man and he told me that it was normal. Felt embarassed. Thank God say the thing was inside one secluded cubicle.

Was at a GTB ATM recently in V/I. One girl (must have been 17 or 18) was there struggling with an ATM card. the thing just kept going in and coming out. after waiting for God knows how long, i decided to help out. After asking her what the problem was, she said the machine was faulty. So i decided to go thru the process with her. Lo and Behold, when the machine informed her that there was a charge of 100 (she was using an Intercontinental ATM) and asked if she wanted to continue, she kept saying No and expected the machine to pay her.

ricadelide:
under normal circumstances, your post does not warrant a response, but just so some gullible people will not be influenced by your error,,,,,,,,,

The Bible is unequivocal, don't think you (or rather the people that wrote the article you posted) are the first person (or people) to misquote scripture and append the false interpretation they want to it; Satan did it. (see Matt 4), so, you see, to be a little sarcastic, you are in 'good' company sad.
However, i wont stoop down to answering you word for word because it isn't worthwhile, but just like Jesus needed only one scriptural verse to silence the misinterpretations of Satan, i will only need to quote one scripture to you:
"People die once, and after that they are judged." Heb. 9;27 (GWT). Shikena. Adam, like the rest of us men, die only once and are judged. there is no second chance afforded by reincarnation.

However, there is little wonder that you posted this, considering that - reading your other posts - you are the same person who thinks sex is essential for spiritual growth, who smokes weed and think it is right for christians, who says masturbation was approved by God for the isrealites, to mention a few amidst the many atrocious statements you have made. Indeed, by their fruits you shall know them. May God open your eyes and deliver your soul from the tight grip of satan's deception.
I second this motion.
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus: The Re-incarnation Of Joseph by lafile(m): 10:29am On Apr 26, 2007
Hi Loveking.

I'm not pretending to be a 'Bible Proff'. However the little I know i learnt by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I understand Typology and I know typology can be found all over the bible. I also agree that Joseph is a TYPE of Christ. I mentioned that in my first post.

However, I do not agree that Joseph being a TYPE of Christ makes Jesus a Re-Incarnation of Joseph. The bible in no way teaches Re-incarnation. In whatever definition, Re-Incarnation is nowhere taught in the bible. If you However can find a basis for re-incarnation in the bible, please I'll like to see it.

As for my believing in the Jesus of the bible, i know different people from the muslims to the mormons believe in the existence of Jesus. However the personality attributed to the Jesus they believe is skewed in the direction of their religions. The muslims believe that Jesus was never crucified, married, grew and died in old age. However the Jesus I know was crucified, died and rose up the third day. There obviously is a difference betwenn my Jesus and the Jesus of the Muslims. capiche?

@Loveking

You said

Dont Say what you don't know. Get Understanding and get Knowledge then your "eyes" will be opened.

Wow. This must be a case of mistaken identity.

Let me make this simple. The Jesus Christ I know, the Jesus Christ of the bible, the One who died and rose again and ascended to Heaven, the One who redeemed me, the one who is right now interceding on my behalf, is not a re-incarnation. He existed before the foundations of the world was laid. In Him ALL things consist. All things were made for Him and by Him. He existed before Joseph. In fact Joseph was made by Him.

There certainly is a difference between my Jesus and your Jesus. We certainly must be talking about two different people. My Jesus IS the King of Kings. Who is yours?
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus: The Re-incarnation Of Joseph by lafile(m): 10:32am On Apr 25, 2007
The guy starts with comparisons of Joseph with Jesus, establishing Joseph as a type of the redeeming Christ. Then it suddenly gets spooky with re-incarnation, near death experiences and entity souls. Ol boy una don bring another one come again o.

JESUS IS NOT A RE-INCARNATION. NOT OF JOSEPH OR ANYBODY ELSE. HE IS GOD. GOD INCARNATE.

FamilyRe: What Rights Has Your Wife Over Your Mobile Handset Or Vice Versa? by lafile(m): 12:44pm On Apr 19, 2007
In a normal situation, everybody will answer his/her phone. Theres is nothing special about answering phone calls anyway. But there comes a time when someone is unable to answer his/her phone. it is normal. probably left ur fone at home etc. In this situation, it is normal after say 5 or 6 repeated calls from the same number that somebody else apart from answers the phone. it is normal. fathers answer their sons phones. siblings answewr each others phones in this circumstance.

The problem comes when without any reason a husband/wife insists that a spouse should not answer his/her phone. it becomes obvious that there is a call you expect to recieve that your spouse must not know about. In other words you have secrets. trouble. from that point henceforth, the aggrieved spouse starts scheming on how to search the phone for sms or calls. trust then goes out the window.

As for me, when the circumstance demands, I take my wifes calls and vice versa. when we go out i hold both fones. and except shes close by i answer hers. Whats more we both have the passwords to our e-mail boxes. end of story.

when they stood before the altar the woman was asked if she knew of any reason why they shouldn't be joined together and she lied. She said 'I have no reason'. Therefore in my opinion, the marriage should be annuled.
