Politics › Re: How NLC And TUC Betrayed #occupynigeria: An Insider Account by lastpage: 8:53am On Jan 12, 2013
Please dont read, dont complain, if you cant read or have a short attention span. Thank you!

Gboss4sure: Nigeria has no solution, even if we stage a revolution they will still collect bribe and betray us.
Bolan123: Nigeria was never occupied. The opposition thought they could get power through the backdoor. Who certify the fraudulent subsidy papers for payment? NLC members through PENGASSAN. Who provides loan for d fraudulent importers the NLC through their members in the banks. They all went for a carnival at Ojota and we advise the President to deploy soldiers and that ends the rascal behavior of the so called ACN/ CPC rascals.
totorimi: Oshiomole did his own and use it to become governor.
Esele and Omar did their own and became instant billionaires.
Who is next to make it huh??

ordinary Nigerians will always be used and dumped.
Nigerians wake up and light up the country if need be to assert your freedom. The country belongs to all of us, our children born and unborn. What is life when you dont have a future in your own country. Let us light up the country if that is what will put an end to all the madness
I have brought these three "line of thoughts" together so that we can follow "how we all think"!
With due respect to the three people above, let me say that if we want, WE CAN TAKE OUR DESTINY IN OUR HANDS ...... Or WE CAN KEEP PROFFERING "EXCUSES" FOR INACTION!
The Choice is ours but we need to realize that whatever choice we make today (and everyday!), will and is affecting our lives and the lives of our children unborn!
Even if you finally succeeded in "running abroad", a point will come when the "home truth' will dawn on you..... NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

"Excuses" are many and abundant ...and they are just that; EXCUSES!
For example, saying "Opposition Politicians have hijacked the Protest" is just an excuse. Relying on NLC/TUC to lead us is another foolish excuse! Saying the strike is against our Kinsman-President is another excuse! Saying "separation" is the only solution is another excuse I
t is not living 'together as one country' that "steals/loot our treasury or refuse to provide electricity, hospitals, good schools, employment, e.t.c! Even if we break into the 250 Languages in Nigeria, each of that 250 units will simply replicate the problems because the thieves are from every 'language' in Nigeria!

These EXCUSES should not derail the objective neither should it make us relent in pursing it to its logical conclusion.

It is always the goal, the objective, that we should keep our eyes and mind set on. If need be, we can use those "opposition politicians" to serve our purpose and achieve our objective, .... and then deal with them afterwards after-all, they are ALL THIEVES, TWO SIDES OF THE SAME "corrupt" COIN!
As Nigerians, let us keep proffering solutions on how to change this bad/corrupt system.

The current and past set of looters are not ready to yield an inch. Some of them are closer to Seventy years now and have been looting this country since they knew where the money-jar was (that is like for some fifty years now!).

The ONLY WAY to reclaim this country is by VIOLENT PROTEST!

No peaceful protest can get read of the kind of "unrepentant leeches" we have in Nigeria (They dont fear God or Man and would do anything, including killing, to remain in position to loot.)

Now, if you look at Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, even America (American Revolution and independence from Britain, l encourage every young Nigerian to read the Book "Declaration of Independence" .....just Google it), French Revolution, e.t.c ..... NO REVOLUTION WAS EVER BLOODLESS!

Its like the proverbial Nigerian who prays, every blessed day, to GO TO HEAVEN..... but when he gets ill or faces danger, shout s and prays "God, l NO WAN DIE"!
Question: How then would you make heaven if you dont die first? Abi human-beings they for heaven?

In essence, what l am saying is that until we become "SELFLESS" enough, to the point where we are able to "make sacrifices' (be it the ultimate sacrifice, for a noble and enduring purpose), we will remain a puppet in the hands of the "Cabal".
Remember it took that young man that set himself on fire in Tinusia (You think he does not love life, right? You think he does not have a Girl friend/wife? You think he has no dreams and ambition? You think he does not have parents, pikin, brothers and sisters ... for house? (respects to Fela Anikulapo - Suffering and Smiling)
He does! Just like me and you!! But he gave his life for his country, so that others can live a better life! And the result is the Arab spring!

As Nigerians, especially our Youths, we have become excessively materialistic and self-centered (like that quote up there), that the only thing we think about is "How to make Money or run abroad"!

But we forget that even rich people (like Governors), do die from the flying choppers they do afford, from illness that money cant cure and running abroad does not solve all your problems ...it just changes the "nature' of your problems!
Contentment is ONLY found in your environment..... When you make it better!

You cant make 'Omelets' without breaking Eggs!
You cant carry out a revolution when you are fearful for your life.
We just have to deal with these people who have turned this country into a hell-hole for all of us... while they buy houses abroad to keep their own children safe while also amassing wealth for them to use, in ruling over our children in the future!

A Revolution will have saboteurs (The Abattis, Oshiomoles, Kanus, Oni of Ifes, Adedibus, Fani Kayodes, Tinubus, Dokibos, Nzeribes, all former Nigerian Presidents, Aandoakas, Maurice Iwus, Anenihs, Police I.G's, Bankoles, and many more too numerous to mention!). They are not and should not be an EXCUSE for inaction.

Nothing is more fearful, more terrorizing to a Government, than a "sea of citizens" who say "Today na Today, we are already dead and you can shoot us BUT we will chase you out here and now".
Believe me, that is the worst fear of 'people in power': The POWER OF THE MASSES!

Okay, no one wants to die but ask yourself: Is this Life, ..that Nigerians are living? Is the life of an "average" Nigerian worth living? (Hunger, Insecurity, Generator Fumes, Police/Military brutality, Cash-and-carry Judges, Poor and substandard Education and Health Services, Dangerous Roads, lackof portable water, Kidnappings, Bombing, e.t.c). IS THIS CURRENT "Nigerian TYPE OF LIFE" WORTH CHERISHING?
Or IS IT LIFE THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED ASAP?

Would you keep quiet and live and die as above or will you, if the worst comes to the worst, sacrifice that 'life' .... so that your own brothers, Sisters, Parents, children, Neighbors and country at large, will begin to live life, as it should be ..... as God who gave you everything freely (Oil, Good land, Mineral resources, Sun, Water, e.t.c) ...wants you to live it?

Its our choice, just like others have carried their cross by themselves, we MUST and WILL have to carry our own cross, OURSELVES.

Fingers Crossed.

Rottweiler: It's all BULLSHIT!!!!! That's one of the major reasons why marriages can not/are not sustained in the developed world. Is marriage a business venture? NO! If my wife had insisted on us having a prenuptial agreement, I would have called it off, Love or no Love! It really crazy the way certain things are being done this days. Couples are supposed to weather marital storms together and not say QUIT at the slightest provocation just because of the expected 'marital gratuity'! This is no love at all.

Love is sweet when both parties are "IN LOVE"!

But just fast-forward a bit and see them when "Love dont live here Anymore"!

"LATER" is always the problem! (somebody has a change of mind!) shocked shocked

musKeeto: Smelly. Nigerian. Hw the 4k is this racist?

Inferiority complex no good.

No be 4 NL wey Igbos and Yorubas dey abuse each other tire? Abi dat one no follow for racism?
Mscheeww..

What is it with this una "belonging attitude"? You want to defend the "White Woman" by all means, right?

For the avoidance of doubt, RACISM is only associated with an incident when one person (of a different RACE) makes derogatory remarks using the RACE of another person in the process.

Igbo and Yorubas are of THE SAME RACE
!
(Black, African, Nigerian), they cant be racist towards each other.

They can be TRIBALISTIC or insulting ....but not RACIST!

In the above case, the two different races involved are "White/Caucasian race Vs. Black/African race.

She can insult the guy by saying he is "smelly" but when you concatenate that with "Nigerian" ....and the guy is "black" and you are "white", then it becomes a racist comment.

Calling someone "black" is also not racist cause it only refers to their skin color but when you concatenate it with a derogatory word like "Monkey" (as in Black Monkey)..and the person referred to is of African/Black origins, it then becomes a racist comment, for the same reasons l pointed out above.

You need to slow down and not jump into complex issues like this.
Thank you.
if you had read the story/ account of the insider, you will know that a repeat of what happened in June 1996 would have happened to anybody who raised a contrary opinion.

NLC/TUC, is one of the reasons why a successful demonstration can never be carried out by Nigerians.
Make we dey dia they deceive ourselves. Moreover this ain't a surprise.
Oahray: Hmmm... Funny enough I thought I was the only one who saw NLC's move as a backstage settlement from FG. I still think the same of Oshiomhole and the many fruitless strikes in his time as NLC president.

Make dem dey play Nigerians dey go. Most of us would never realise it. Most of those who realise it do not really care. Those who care are usually too powerless to do anything about it.
Truly, we Nigerians suffer from amnesia! We forget too easily!

Take Oshiomole for example: This fiery pretender that blares his eyes like an owl grin was supposed to be Negotiating on behalf of Nigerians during one of OBJ's incessant fuel hikes.

A second example is Reuben Abatti, the fiery Nespaper Editor who mesmerized us with his incisive pen as he pilloried a "one bad government after another".

These two were trusted by Nigerians to "broker a good deal" with OBJ, during the fuel crisis. There REMIT was that the Fed. Govt MUST reverse the fuel hikes and that was the message they were sent to DELIVER to OBJ in Abuja!

But alas, like our "Oni of Ife", during the 'Maradonic-somersault years" of IBB when the infamous "The Man (IBB) is talking sense" verdict was given by his Royal HighLowness after allegedly collecting sizable Ghana must Go Bags,

Oshiomole and Abati simply did a volt-face in Abuja and announced that the Strike has been called-off!
It is on record that Abati till date, could not explain that his piece of land in Abuja (as part of the deal) and that singular act catapulted Oshiomole into the club of mulch-millionaires and into government house (using the "Gift" he got from OBJ).

Does anyone remember that Yar Adua spokeman, Segun Adeniyi or whatever he is called, (he is now irrelevant anyway!) who before he became a "Govt-trumpet", wrote eloquently against Govt injustice to the citizens?
Appointed into office, he became the greatest "lie-spinner" during Yar Aduas days as President.
He was one of those who told the nation how Yar Adua was doing more Push-Ups and running 100M-dash in a time faster that Usain Bolt when in fact, the man has passed-on in a Saudi Hospital1

Bottom-line: NIGERIAN Union Leaders are TRAITORS.

Any "Revolution" that would change Nigeria for GOOD will be spontaneous, furious, bloody and will be borne out of acute and prolonged suffering of Nigerians.

That is how it happened in other countries and Nigeria wont be different.
It is our individual selfishness that is our greatest enemy, in putting those thieves where they (their necks) belong: On a Guillotine!

Car Talk › Re: Should A Husband Teach His Wife Driving? by lastpage: 5:30pm On Jan 10, 2013
diehard: Taught my wife how to drive and I must admit, it was quite an experience. With some shouting and quarrelling, tears knocked in between. We finally did it. Will I try it again if giving another chance, not sure?

Now i trust her driving and we became even more close after the experience.
I guess we should define this "teaching to drive" a lil-bit:

1.)Teaching so she cam "move/drive the car around" (and probably pass a written driving test).
.
2.) Teaching so she can "pass an instructor-led driving test"

For number one, l will encourage all men to do for their wife. For number two, l will encourage all men to tell their wife to learn from a "qualified instructor".

Number two is that stage where you "graduate" from being a learner driver ....to a FULL LICENSE holder. it involves some "precise instruction/knowledge and unlearning of some bad driving habits" which husbands may have taken for granted (like coming to a COMPLETE HALT at STOP SIGNS! ....dont worry, in Niaja, we just look left and right and if no traffic, we zoom-off, wetin concern us inside? grin grin )

I taught my wife to drive some way back and to tell you the truth, it was one of the worst period of our relationship when you look at the tension it generated during the short period (about two months).

I had just bought her a car and l insisted l cant be driving her around anymore when there is a "spare car" she can use.
I was also about to do some traveling and knew she would find it difficult coping (with a kid) if she cant move around independently. I was so determined that she MUST be able to drive "safely" before l travel that l was willing to pull-out all stops.

At times, its like she is trying to face on-coming traffic and l will be like "Do you want to kill both of us ....or dont you see you are driving towards un-coming cars" (or Pedestrians at times!).
At times, l have to drag the steering otherwise, l will be the one to carry "the consequences" on my head.
grin grin
But the rewarding thing is that within two months, she could drive perfectly and confidently, even on bridges and major roads!
I was so thrilled (and she was also) when we did our 'final evaluation' of her driving skills. (If l think her driving was not good/safe enough, l wont let her endanger her own life and our kid's, by allowing her to drive the car.)

Now, we just look back at 'those times' and its like "Aaah, you abuse me a lot during that time sha" huh huh ...and l am like "Am very sorry, the end justifies the means and you know we had a deadline to meet now"!
kiss kiss wink

But it takes a "mountain" of patience!
Its a good experience that men should share with their wife.
When it comes to the full license part, let a "real professional instructor" be her guide! (as in Diaspora levels o!)

PBundles: And here lies the paradox..... Our lawmakers are using the theme ‘ We need to show the world, be an example etc etc’ why not do the same with corruption, good roads, education, crime, development and our biggest disease ACCOUNTABILITY. Well mr Senate President, you want to follow the straight and narrow while driving on a broad horizon. NO POINTS FROM ME. I see thru your smokescreen.
Thank you!

There are twenty problems in this country, some of them will take time to solve (gradual process: like crime and corruption), some can be tackled immediately (like bad roads, poor infrastructures, electricity)...

But what we dont need is to ADD ONE MORE PROBLEM, to make them twenty-one, by adding Homosexuality to them!

Especially if it is a problem which will radically destroy the fabric of our society forever.

I have nothing against Gay/Lesbian people but what l detest is this their "IN YOUR FACE" way of practicing their perverseness.

Do it within the confines of your house, dont pollute the larger society or become a bad "Public influence" to our kids. wink wink

Homosexuality is as old as man-kind, but it was done with some level of decency and decorum.

Imagine the insult.

No elected leader in USA or EU will look the people who voted for him in the face and tell them that they are the problem of the country.

Who exactly is he talking about? The majority of the citizens who are going about their everyday activities trying to make a living against all odds?

Are we the ones supposed to fix the roads and provide power?...that is what governance in Nigeria is reduced to: fix road and bring power. Even the road in his backyard, he cannot fix.
Thank you Brother.

Car Talk › Re: People Hide Plate Number Of Cars For Sale: Why? by lastpage: 8:12am On Jan 01, 2013
Siena: I've often wondered the same.

It's possible the car has a lien attached to it (has finance outstanding) and the seller's trying to sell it on without paying the outstanding balance.

However, I may be wrong...
Now that deduction is not very correct!

Even "abroad', people "eraze" the Car Reg of vehicles they put online for sale (especially Private sellers). o, itsnot just a Nigerian thingy.

I have done it on Ebay/ Amazon, on many occasions and l have seen countless number of people do it.

Speaking from experience l will adduce the following reasons (not exclusive):

1.) Privacy: You dont want your neighbor seeing your car on offer (He might think you have financial crunch! grin )
2.) Security: This applies mostly to Nigeria (You dont want boyz coming to collect the money from you, knowing that you just sold or are about selling your car
3.) Since its a transaction "in the making", anonymity of owner, like in most business transactions, is desirable.
4.) In Nigeria's case, at times to disguise it as "Tokunboh" when in actual fact, Lagos-Ibadan Express way has seen the best of it! grin
5.) To prevent unwarranted and undesirable "interests" from friends and family who would rather buy it on CREDIT! ...afterall, "we be family/friends now" huh huh

Now, if there is a lien on a vehicle and you attempt to sell it to someone (even when you hide the Car Reg), ...l am sure the buyer will request to see the "Log Book" before paying you (and that defeats the purpose, as he can run a few checks on the Car Reg which will spill out the beans)

All the same, I dey Gbadun your analysis on "Autos", all the same.

You are then forced to wonder: Did they listen to the interview?
If they did not, WHERE in the statement quoted, DID THE MAN SAY "THOSE KILLED, DESERVE TO DIE?

I am sure most if not all of these commentators were too "mentally lazy" to just listen to the "3minutes clip" of what the man had to say. ...... and yet they were so eager to comment and curse the man? huh

He said: One of those killed could not have been a GENUINE NYS Corper because the guy graduated from UNN in 2006, works as a "Manager" in a Computer firm in Lagos and all these facts were garnered from his FACEBOOK page, which remained "open" after the guys death.

Where in that did he justify the deaths?

Because:
1.) Its only stewpid people who generalize, to insult a whole nation (Nigerian men) simply because they are having an unpleasant experience in their love-life with one.

2.) I think it is the height of hypocrisy for "the Pot to be accusing the Kettle of being black". When a S/African hides behind a silly keyboard to disparage my own country/men (S/Africa is also not better than America, is it?), the mofo got to pull the wool in her own eyes FIRST.

Politics › Re: Jonathan, Dickson, Archbishop Trade Words at Azazi's Burial by lastpage: 3:26am On Dec 31, 2012
President Jonathan, while paying tribute to Azazi, reminded Archbishop Ogbebor that lack of attitudinal change was responsible for most of the problems plaguing the nation.

Jonathan said the emphasis on corruption most of the time was also misplaced as some of the cases that are brought under the purview of corruption do not belong there, stressing that until Nigerians behave rightly and properly, the country cannot move forward the way it should move.

He remarked that if 50 percent of Nigerians behave uprightly like Azazi, then the country would experience a change.

Jonathan said: “If all of us or if only 50 percent of Nigerians, and I mean it, if 50 percent of Nigerians that have privileges to certain offices or by virtue of their own struggle, have gotten to some level in society like General Azazi, this country will change.

“If we do things properly, if we change our attitudes as Nigerians, most of these issues we are blaming on corruption, we will know that it is not corruption”!
You see, this is how to POSITIVELY IDENTIFY FAILED LEADERSHIP: When you point out his errors and failings to him, instead of accepting and correcting them, HE POINTS HIS FINGERS AT OTHERS! grin grin grin

So, until 80Million Nigerians become like Azazi, this man cannot do anything in Government? You then wonder why HE IS A PRESIDENT .... and why he even sacked the same Azazi, when he said PDP is Bokoharam?
