zayhal: I need to understand the way people think. So which one is a worse crime? Infidelity or murder? Are they even comparable? Comments such as the ones above would only make people get bolder to commit heinous crimes in the society. Thank you for your "observation". Those women "dancing" about this issue are reminding us that they would do exactly the same thing, if their husband decides to marry a second wife! I HOPE THEIR HUSBANDS/BOYFRIENDS ARE READING THIS, .....YOU ARE GOING OUT WITH A POTENTIAL MURDERER! Back to the real issue: *The fundamental basis of any relationship, which is.... and should be "TO FREELY ASSOCIATE, WITHOUT COMPULSION", ....is being called to question here. *Marriage is not about "exclusive ownership or property" .......since we humans are NOT COMMODITIES to be traded back and forth. You did not buy or own your partner. What you own is "Your own freedom" to walk away, if you want "out". *Marriage is an "agreement to live together PEACEFULLY". If that condition can no longer be realized, or is no longer feasible or has become extremely cantankerous, then it is better (l said better, not the best alternative) for each party to go their separate ways. *If one can then build a fulfilling (within limits of their circumstances) relationship from there-on, good. *But when one partner thinks "I must kill the other one because he/she does not love me anymore", then it was NEVER LOVE in the first place! *Killing your spouse also deprives the kids of their right to the "presence and love" of that other spouse! *If what she did was right, why is she now running and dodging? For how long can she run? She will eventually be hanged or gassed to death. Those who kill by the sword MUST die by the sword. In this age of rampant promiscuity, l hope all the women celebrating this murder will one day, expect their "man" to murder them if and when he discovers they have cheated on him,....how about that for thought? The same yardstick you use for others will be used for you, as well. Shikenna! If you truly love something, set it FREE.....if it comes back to you, it is yours for keeps otherwise, it was never yours in the first place! If you dont like a "situation", just walk away from it. It costs you nothing (and they did not build any home together because this is not a home, ab-initio! A "home" does not suffer this kind of violence. Lastpage LESSON: If you must eat with the Devil, please be prepared to "buy and use" a VERY LONG SPOON! Nothing should be taken for granted these days! be Guided. ![]() |
Ozonna: Is it how it is done in developed countriesNo it IS NOT! Why dont they just pass the "correct info" to the Stockbrokers on daily basis, if that were the "real issue"? That he worked at NYSE does not mean he has the interest of NSE at heart! Has it ever occurred to you that the worst crooks in Nigeria are those that have worked in a foreign, corresponding office, in the past, and retyrned home to Nigeria for "strange reasons"? As with most things "Nigerian", the only thing he learned ..is HOW TO EXPLOIT the IGNORANCE of his fellow Nigerians. This sort of "I have worked abroad people" can be the worst of bosses, at times. If you doubt this, do a survey of some Parastatals in Nigeria, for example Crusader Insurance, now Custodian Insurance where some of their Bosses have worked "abroad" before! ![]() Bunch of Criminals who will not last a day in any foreign country!
@ post; most car manufacturers do state it, it is never advisable to leave kids under the age of 12 in front seats(except they are to be strapped in baby carriers, in which case rear facing ones are not still allowed). Its just plain blunder that caused this untimely demise. My condolences to the family.
While l condole wit the family, every tragedy should be a learning exercise for the rest of us. Do you still leave your children unstrapped with seat belts when driving? Do you refuse to follow "manufacturer's instruction as to the proper use of Car Seats or do you just even refuse to put your children in one? Do you take REGULAR MAINTENANCE of your car for granted? nokingasgod: Basketmouth Ahmadu Alli, this is most unbecoming of an elder statesman. You dont insult an entire race to make case for your ''oga at the top''. Such vituperation is uncalled for especially because it was unprovoked unless you woke up from the wrong side of the bed and your heads required some examination. That statement is too weighty and one wonders what point you were trying to make. Maybe that was one of those things we saw then when we said ''Alli must go'' and Nigerians thought we were childish.Bro,Kudos to you! But you cannot continue to argue with people who are probably in diapers or yet unborn, when things you discuss were happening. It is not everyone that witnessed or knew what "Alli Must Go" represent. That loud-mouthed rabble-rouser (Alli) and Ango Abdullahi were two of those that laid the foundation for the destruction of our University Education and the result is what we are all witnessing now. Only silly person like Alli, will insult a whole race, for whatever reason because whether we like it or not, there would always be individual differences, in as little as hundred people of same race! Lastpage! BTW: What happened to the man's face, in that picture? Was he bleaching as well? ![]() I hope Soyoyo Governor will learn from this? dohiswill: It Depends on who the opposition party (ACP) feeds because a living dog is better than a dead lionThank you for this comment. I think this is where the problems lies: To be told to make a choice between "The Devil or the Deep Blue Sea"! If its a Choice between GEJ and the likes of Bola Tinubu, (that one could even be worse than GEJ when it comes to Thievery, looting and corruption), Buhari (a lot of people still believe, rightly or wrongly, that he is a Religious fanatic...and Nigeria does not need Fanatics for now), and other well-established "evil men", Then its a difficult choice and GEJ might just win from "show of apathy" (40% of ALL voters turn-up, 45% of them vote GEJ and he wins by 20% of total number of voters!). I challenge the opposition to PRESENT A CREDIBLE CANDIDATE, (not some "IMPOSED CANDIDATE" like Tinubu did in Lagos) ...and we would not even have to worry about GEJ coming back. But Nigeria is so corrupt ...and the citizens so laid-back (stewpid could have been abetter word but it is insulting! ) . that l fear we would keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again ...and keep complaining to God to come and save us! ![]() Sorry for my countiri, suffering and smiling! Yes, l did Vote GEJ in 2011. I hardly make mistakes but that one qualifies as one of my life worst mistakes! ![]() In retrospect, l can understand why l got myself fooled: *This was (or supposedly) a PhD degree holder and l was expecting that it would reflect in his decision-making and thought process, being an academic myself. *l have stayed in the Niger Delta myself (work transfer back then) and l abhor the level of deprivation they are faced with, from the exploitation of Nigeria's resources located in their area and on the land they live-on. I THOUGHT if we have someone from that area at the helm of affairs, maybe he knows where the "shoes pinches most" and would help resolve their deprivation but l was mistaken! *I never believed myself when l theorize that "The last government/leader is always better than the NEXT ONE"! I never believed that anyone could be worse than Yar Ardua, whose health was a major factor in his performance. I fear for 'who' is coming-n NEXT, really. Mine was not about Tribalism, l just wanted the best for our dear country. He has taken "clueless-ness" to a new and frightening level..... and his "romance with corruption" is alarming! Will l vote him again in 2015, God forbid thunder to strike in the same place, TWICE! Nothing personal. Lastpage! |

eldoradoxx: My take on this issue of late marriage by ladies has always been this; men became too "cold feeted" when sex became too cheap. You see whether you believe it or pretend its not true, men like sex naturally and can sell a country for half a penny to have it with a lady they really like. But do they have to sell anything now to have it ? NO. Its absolutely free and cheap. Ladies no longer strike a bargain or any deal of " sorry I dnt have sex without marriage". So guys are no longer in a hurry to wed ladies and since they everything married men get from their wives while single. A lady cooks, washes his cloths, cleans his house and sleeps with him and u think he ll be serious with marriage? If a lady want to get a guy serious, let her close her legs.Dont bet on it! Unfortunately, while she is "closing her legs" ..another 'fine gaal' is opening her own wide and some men being what they are .....will think she is "forming" and before you can say jack, the 'open-leg" lady don marry the GUY! Uuuunnn, l hate it when that happens! Lastpage! |
Okoro2015: This is either a personal admittance of failure or an irrefutable definition of senility.Haahahha! ![]() Take it or leave it, one thing you cant fault OBJ about is his BLUNTNESS! This is a man who has ruled Nigeria THE MOST, a TWO TIME PRESIDENT, telling us straight in the face! Tell me: WHO CAN KNOW A THIEF, BETTER THAN A THIEF ITSELF? OBJ just admitted the failure of his own generation, especially himself ...... and thats why l applaud his "self immolation" ....at 70yeras! When Dangote told him that two PhD holders and 600 Masters Degree holders where amongst those who applied as Truck drivers in his Cement, OBJ pretended to be surprised! Was it not OBJ that "cemented" the monopoly of our Cement Industries to Dangote? Why wont Dangote flaunt it that he employs PhD holders as truck drivers? (there's something about people who dont attend Universities but run into money, wanting to flaunt it and ridicule those who are well educated but they forget that "Money and Education" are miles apart! Any fool can be rich at anytime, University Education takes a process, time and painstaking, to achieve). Obasanjo himself is a beneficiary of a system that promotes mediocres to position of leadership and decision-making! ....Was he not just a "bricklayer" in the Army? ![]() *Do we need to remind anyone of his role in the killing of Dr. Bola Ige, an erudite and seasoned "good leader", in-between? *Do we need to remind him of his assault on University students and our educational institutions, during his time as Military head of state? *Do wee need to remind him about how "Operation feed the Nation, OFN" (a national Project to improve Agriculture, which annexed people's land in Otta, gulped Billions of Naira in federal funding, .....suddenly metamorphosed into Obasanjo farms Nigeria (still OFN)? What a genius! *Do we need to remind him about his interest in TransCorp and how it desecrated our National Assets like Ajaokuta Steel Mills, NITEL, National Ship[ping Line, e.t.c.... under his "leadership and influence" *Do we need to remind him about the 15billion that was spent on NEPA and how even up till today, there is not much to show for it? *Do we need to remind him of the extra judicial killings that took place in Odi and Zaki Biam? *Do we need to remind him of his role in the 'dashing-away' of Bakassi, just to promote his 3rd term agenda? *Do we need to remind him that it is NOT ENOUGH to steal, loot and later come out to lament, in a show of unabashed shamelessness and Diarrhea of the mouth? Look, it is not only that we suffer from paucity of leaders, we are also imbibed with "foolish, cunning thieves" occupying leadership position (Leaders) who have no idea of what self-respect entails otherwise most of them would have taken the "Chinese Option" of falling on their sword instead of fouling the air every now and then, with more of their foolish ideas and rantings. I am sure those young children will be wondering whether the man was a "born-again" or the same "Jaguda in Agbada", that they remember .....well, as Nigerians, we forget too quickly anyway! She finished SS3 when she was 18yrs Due to "incomplete Result and Jamb wahala", she eventually gained University admission when she was 20years. Not bad. Student Riot, Lecturer's Riot (Senior and junior Staff Union of ASUUU ) all extended her school calendar by 2yrs, over a six year period.By the time she graduated, she was 26years! Then the school did not compile result on time and she could not go with "batch A", so she wasted another six months and went for NYSC batch C! by the time she finished NYSC, she was clocking 28years! Being the eldest in her house, she cant just ignore her siblings, so she promised to look for work so she can help out a little.....and you know, job scouting in Nigeria is man-know-man, even with a good grade (over supply of Graduates without adequate industrial and infrastructural base). The jobs are just not many anymore So she was 30years by the time she eventually landed that one-man business that pays her a miserly 45K monthly! To compound the matter, the man she wanted to marry, her lover-boy from Jambito-days has vowed that he would not marry unless he lands a good job that can cater for his family (wife and children to come) and even then, he is not the type to look up to his spouse for "handouts". Good man, thats why they call you "man of the house". ![]() Well, his own job was not forthcoming that quickly and "his sweetheart" is clocking 32yrs now! Wetin make she do? marry herself or what? What has she done wrong, please tell me? All l am trying to say is that, the fact that a lady is 30+ yrs and not married, does not mean she is aiming too high or is digging for Gold or still playing around (l know some do ) but by constantly nagging her or staying on her neck and reminding her of that "Biological Clock", you're probably doing her more harm than good.Dont forget we live in a society where everybody is O.Y.O (on your own) and you have to look properly before you dive! ...less you land on a hard rock! ![]() if it were "abroad" (l hate to use this kind of example!), apart from the fact that jobs are being created actively EVERYDAY by their own govt and the "infrastructures" are there (stable power, secondary industries, e.t.c) to go into private or self employment, the govt also assists in a way that even non-working peeps can start a small family while they grind-out their job-seeking options. Again, dont forget that Money (or lack of it) is the root of all evils. Nothing breaks a family quicker than when the basic things of life are not being met, especially by a man who was not ready for marriage (financially) but had to marry his lady who was clocking 33+ (God forbid! ), when she would not let him rest till they get married.Summary: Leave them alone, everyone has his/her own time and clock. Its the end that justifies the means. Our Mothers situation is not the same as the times we are now. Back then, even as late as 1984, my eldest brother who graduated from Unilag Computer Sc. had three job offers, (RT Briscoe, Leventis, First Bank) all with a brand new Peugeot 504 Saloon car in-tow, begging for his signature, even before going for NYSC (they want him to serve and work with them afterwards)... ... not the current "Dangotte graduate driver scheme" peeps have to be facing now! Dude was riding two "tear-rubber cars" within one year of Graduation (as old man honored his first graduate son with a car as well!) ...and he is just an ordinary Graduate from an ordinary middle-class, working family. How many Graduates are that fortunate like that since 1999? ![]() Times have CHANGED. GraceBestowed: I find it sickening that they felt the need to beat him up, or embarrass him, because he tied the wrapper!! This urge these people have to see people in pain, whether it's by beating, or lynching, is not correct, or normal!! If a man wants to wear a wedding dress out, let him, it's his shame to bear!! Smh!You know, l was just trying to figure-out what was the link between his "dress-sense" and trying to plank him to death? Seems wickedness and brutality has eaten deep into the psyche of Nigerians (no insult intended please)! Every little thing, someone quickly gets blood-thirsty like a Vampire? ![]() Seems we have lost our humanity and spirit of kindness, respect for one another and comradeship, afterall, we are all Nigerians (Brothers and Sisters in the long run!). Seems the Devil has taken over around here! Reminds me of something that happened Yesterday. I packed my car on a street in Lagos when l went shopping. The place had about four cars already packed and l just moved into an empty space. I checked all around to see if there was a "No Parking Sign" anywhere around: NONE. Out of the four cars already parked, one seems to have been there for a few days judging by the amount of dust it has accumulated. I felt at ease. I also parked properly ensuring that l would not obstruct traffic in the slightest or causing any form of obstruction. I satisfied my conscience properly as l generally dont flout laid down rules anywhere l am and l respect my self (so l dont get insulted!). Lo and behold, am back about twenty minutes later and my car is GONE! My first thought was: Haaa, not again, this Lagos people have stolen this car! If not that l took notice of the house number l parked in front, l would have sworn my car was in another street because apart from still finding the other cars in place, another car had parked in my original spot! Jezzuz Christ!! To cut a long story short, l after a lot of trials, l located the car at a LASTMA dump around Suura Market. Twenty thousand Naira was demanded as "Fine" for parking illegally. I tried to explain to the chaps that there was no sign indicating a No-Parking zone and that the other cars are still there (they dont have resident parking stickers so, thats a no-brainer) and why they had to single out my own car for towing? BTW: 10K was the towing fee! a distance of how many meters? I called their "Senior" aside and asked him: 1.) if it was right to TOW my vehicle when their was not a "No Parking Sign" in sight? 2.) Why the other cars l met their where not towed earlier 3.) Why the cars l met there and another one are all still there without being towed? 4.) That he use his discretion to release my car unconditionally He said he was sorry but l still had to pay the 20K! I paid them, took my receipts and took my car but before leaving, l reminded him that what they did was nothing short of WICKEDNESS and it has nothing to do with upholding the law. I told him that he should not be surprised if someone else did some wicked to him or someone dear to him and that it would have been better if we all live a life devoid of this kind of behavior! I could afford to pay right away but what if l couldn't? Would l walk home or go home by "Maaruwa"! when l came to Lagos in a confy-airconditioned car? ![]() Rampant and random, unprovoked wickedness, now seems a way of life and its very pervasive in our society, from the Civil Servant, to the Police, Army, to Law Makers, Executive Arm, judges, Boko Harams, Bus touts, Kidnappers, Armed robbers, traffic hold-up thieves, ..even in an "educated and supposedly enlightened environment? (reading the case of the LASU final year Youth gunned down day-before yesterday!) In my days, we would have laughed over it and make jest of him (woman wrapper! )One man who was a "victim" of same LASTMA people commented off-handedly that "if he ever had the chance, he would run-over one of these guys" ...and l realized he actually meant it! I was shocked beyond belief!! What are we turning into? Savages? Cannibals? Animals? Hmmmmmm, l weak o! Lastpage! |

No need for all these bashing of each other. In the 70's, l can swear that not only major roads like Ikorodu road but inner STREETS, ..have "working street lights" and we had those big-headed, sculptured metallic things that dispensed "clean, portable water" at every street junction (Public Taps). There was almost 24/7 power supply and the roads were clean and well laid-out! Thus, people like me might not be that ecstatic when a second term Governor of lagos (of all places!) erects street light on Ikorodu road! I will be judging him by those standards. Now, for those who came to lagos "late" (either by virtue of age or relocation) ....and the Lagos you met on ground was the one of 1980's and beyond, please rejoice, jubilate and roll of the floor like you just won the lottery. Fashola is surely making a positive impact. I cant blame those shouting "Eko o'ni baje" or Fashola for President .....they've never seen or have it so good before now. THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE!! Nothing to vex over, nothing to insult each other over. Let Fashola keep trying his "best", but as a matured man who has lived in this same Lagos in the 60's and 70's, l am sure in his heart of hearts, he knows that He aint even started....when it comes to giving the people what they deserve. To whom much is (has been) given,....very much more is expected. it all depends on whom you are 'rating' him against .... Please get as many of his RECENT Pictures that you can lay hands on. Make large (A4) sizes and caption it "MISSING", add contact phone numbers as well. Place these large ones at Bus-stops from Lagos to his School (most probable route). Make smaller pictures (5x7) and distribute it in localities along those route as well. The best thing you can rely-on is "SOMEONE" spotting him (and it is still fresh) somewhere. A whole human being cannot just disappear into thin air, just like that, someone would have seen him get to that Transport Company terminal or seen him enter a vehicle or seen him alight at Okada ...... just somewhere along the "chain". As for Mr. Frank MBA, let him stop mouthing-off, how can you claim you are "aware of their plans, you are monitoring them, they cant find a base in the North e.t.c .....and yet they keep killing scores of Nigerians on a daily basis? In my own "HOME", the first word you are taught to spell is "OUR SURNAME"! That name has been in-use for time eternal and every MALE child propagates that name. Now, the first lesson you will learn, ....and the last you will learn in my family is: REMEMBER the "son" of whom you are! We are reminded daily (and it sunk in real deep!) NOT to bring DISREPUTE to that "family name". And you are reminded that the name belongs to everybody in the family and just one miscreant (black sheep! ) cannot and will NOT BE ALLOWED to SOIL IT!Infact, instead of soiling that "family name", you will quickly disown yourself sharp-sharp, from that name. It is the wayward child that "disowns" him/herself .... in our own family! ![]() But because of the "brand" associated with the name, we all try to be above board and not bring disrepute to our family name. kingoflag: When will Nigerian kids be like these two? Good, lemme ask you a couple questions:Hey Bro, l get your drift! I am NOT a fan of GEJ in any way (though l must confess l voted for him back then, thinking that "Southerners" generally have a better grasp of the economy and being a PhD?, l was hoping that his education will rob-off on his performance but l am more than disappointed in my own naivety!) .... ...I think the problem we have in Nigeria now goes beyond GEJ (though the choice of an 'able leader' is a very good starting point). The whole "system" is corrupt!. Not even voting-in Buhari will solve our problem. We need a very bloody, cataclysmic re-orientation of the whole populace! A REVOLUTION that will be so severe that it will put the "fear of God" in our people, Leaders and followers alike. This country has been raped for so long that majority have come to accept it as Normal! This country has been looted for so long that majority now think that is the only way to get rich! Corruption is so ingrained that even a little child thinks joining the "Police" is the best way to get rich! We are so morally bankrupt that "core evils" like ritual killings, kidnapping and child molestation (not to mention perverseness by a few)dont even bother us anymore! Changing GEJ for Buhari or vice-versa will not stop these decay (both of them are like two sidesof the same coin and "politics" will not even help us anyway!). We need a "generational shift", we need to start afresh! The only way to do that is "a complete cleansing of the stable", sweeping-away those old generations of vipers and clamping down on the younger ones, who can still be molded. But to "take a child from the grasp of an Iroko tree is not a joking matter"! When you fight "evil and corruption", they will fight back even harder! A REVOLUTION, a bloody one will achieve so many things, with just one stroke. Ghana had theirs .... and they are at least better for it, compared to their days of "Ghana must go"! Latin American countries have theirs, including Brazil ... they are doing better. I hope the Youths of this country will wake-up one day (instead of hustling and just trying to survive) and realize that they have no-choice, if they truly desire a better life for themselves (and they deserve it!) and their offspring to come, THAN TO TAKE THE BATTLE TO THE DOORS OF THE POLITICIANS AND LOOTERS! Even the Army will join, eventually when they see that they have no choice, either join or be swept away as well. Aluuta! Aluuta!! Aluutaa!!! Lastpage!
