GAR3TH: Dont get me wrong but how is this an Anti-Islam campaign. All it says it support Israel, defeat Jihad. I think some people are just to sensitive, move on with your lives.
I wont get you wrong but pray me, When the words like "DEFEAT JIHAD" is used,DO you think it is referring to CHRISTIANS?

We must not be blinded by partisanship and hypocrisy.

I am a Christian and l detest Islamic Militancy but at the same time, We Christians (and the world at large!) must STOP KO-toeing to the Zionist Antics!

Israel is probably worse than the worst Islamic Jihadist that ever existed
.....but the only difference is that they have "colonized" the most powerful country in the world (USA)
.........and are very subtle in their own "tactics", always playing the victim!

Mark my words, Israel would probably be the 'trigger' for a world war, if care is not taken.....and America will be used as "a tool" in executing that war.

Check Iraq War: Initiated by Israel, America was the "tool"
Check all the wars America fights today...they are ALL geared towards protecting Israel!.....as Israeli Jews have infiltrated all sectors of America.

But again, Muslims must become "smart" and stop "warring" over every little provocation.

They are just too predictable!

You will be surprised that all that all the recent brouhaha about Prophet Mohhammed Films, cartoons, WMD, Regime changes in Arab countries, e.t.c are all geared towards decimating ANY AND EVERY CHALLENGE towards "Israeli military dominance" of the Middle East!

It makes sense: Weaken every Arab country, using any means.....and you wont need to use the military option as they would easily surrender to Israeli dominance!
.....And that ensures that the continued Occupation and Apartheid in Palestine remains unchallenged!

End Game.

Lastpage!

BTW: How can some people still be fooling themselves by calling the "present day Israel" God's own people?
Just compare their behavior and match it with the Bible (is it Jesus's rejection and crucification, their penchant for aggressiveness, oppression of a whole Palestinian nation, torture and murder of innocent Arab children, incitement and intolerance of any form of criticism, e.t.c)......and you will realize that they are very far from that "accolade".

Dont blame the "Gangsters".......or did you not read that they used GUNS?

And ask yourselves.......how come l have never come across any GUN, just lying on the floor or along the street? huh huh

When Police and Politicians (kai, see similarity!) buy weapons and arm these guys, for election rigging, you think they would simply become "civil" after killing someone during those elections?

When these guys collect guns from Police, to use in armed robbery...you think those guns dont have other uses?

These gangs are the product of a "corrupt and broken system".....which NIGERIA is!

You get what you pay for!

Imagine, what will a "normal" Polytechnic Student be doing with street gangs, if he actually studied to gain admission (as opposed to bribery and exam impersonation) and has a "future goal" for such education?

Is it a coincidence that 90% of our Counselors and LGA Chairmen are "NURTW Touts and Area Men"?
This is what they (The Politicians) have turned this country to.

This is what "cocaine-snorting Oju'yobo Tinubu", turned Lagos into.

We glorify all the 'Negative and Evil things" under the sun.

I guess a day will come when every citizen will have to take their own safety into their own hands.

These Gang members have this nuisance habit of destroying people's cars whenever they feel they want to make a point.

Residents must also "gang-up" and "do them" afterwards!

Enough of this impunity!.......if the "Security cant/wont do anything about it.

Politics › Re: Why The US Wont Tag Boko-Haram As A Terrorist Group by lastpage: 8:13am On Sep 22, 2012
youngies: The United States has not designated Boko Haram a terrorist organisation because its insurgency is principally aimed at portraying the Nigeria government as ineffective, Ambassador Jonnie Carson said yesterday.

The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs spoke in a continent-wide telephone conference monitored at the US Embassy in Lagos.

Mr. Carson said Boko Haram is not a homogenous organisation and, therefore, not qualified to be labelled a terrorist group.

“Boko Haram is an organisation trying to discredit the Nigerian government and trying to show the government as ineffective in protecting its citizens,” he said.

He, however, conceded that the US “constantly keeps it (Boko Haram) under review” and that is why it has declared three Boko Haram leaders as terrorists.

Last June, the US Government placed Abubakar Shekau, Abubakar Adam Kambar and Khalid al-Barnawi on its global terror watch list.

“These three leaders were declared as terrorists because we believe they have established contacts and broader network with foreign terrorist organisations. They have sought funding and materials,” Carson said.

In the build-up to the November 6 US presidential election, Carson spoke extensively on US affairs in Africa.

According to him, the US’s predominant activities are targetted at helping “Africa deal with its ongoing security challenges” because crises take away resources meant for development. But, he said the country’s larger aim is to help Africa grow its economy, especially agriculture.

More: http://channelkoos.com/index.php/news/2547-why-we-wont-tag-boko-haram-terrorist-body-us

Its either America is confused or very selfish!

1.) Some people had made contact with terrorist organisations and sought funding and assistance from them.
2.) You designate those people as terrorist!
3.) These people set up and organisation which is using terror to achieve its aim, whatever that is.

So, How can you say the "people" are terrorist but the "organisation" is NOT a terror organisation?
So I'm sure you've heard already about this ancient text that supposedly quotes Jesus referencing his wife (see this if you aren't aware of it: http://www.chron.com/life/houston-belief/article/Five-big-questions-about-the-Jesus-wife-papyrus-3881424.php)

So my question is, why aren't Christians in the US, Nigeria, Europe, South America, Asia etc rioting, protesting, murdering people, blowing up buildings and committing other acts of terrorism, etc?

Shouldn't they be deeply offended? And if so, isn't violence a legitimate way to express displeasure?
Because they know Jesus will disprove of such violent behavior!

While alive, Jesus preached LOVE, TOLERANCE, FORGIVENESS....to those who offend us!

Even when been falsely arrested, he "replaced" a smitten ear that his disciple effing cut-off!

Jesus has been called a Homosexual, films have even been made to justify such.

Doesn't that sound like you? wink wink

BTW: The only reason "the West" promoted monogamy (recall that the King of England was a polygamist as well!) of recent, was to streamline the issue of INHERITANCE.
DOnt argue this first, do some research of your own!

In practice, they are still polygamist ....or how do you define a man/woman who has four spouses (serially or cheating behind his/her spouse), during his/her life time?

For starters, Polygamy it was that ensured that the rate of Divorce, was kept to a minimal.

Monogamy on the other hand, as can be seen in the West today, has ensured a never-before-seen level of "family breakdown", divorce and spousal cheating!

Not to mention the "children" of such broken families being responsible for 90% of crimes in our society!

It is "human nature" to be selfish or abhor "sharing" of anything, Cars and husbands inclusive!
But l predict that the day would come when after every other method including monogamy has failed us, we would have no choice than to revert back to what our fathers practiced (Polygamy).....and putting our selfish nature under control.

^^^^^Then we must separate the "concept/policy" (polygamy) from the practitioners (individuals involved) so that we can do a detail analysis of HOW the practitioners of TODAY get/are getting it wrong!

Like in your example, if a 'great company' winds-up, its not necessarily because people ain't buying its product no more, its principally because it was mismanaged by the 'Execs'/decision makers (the people)!

And l guess thats why in Human Resource Management, "the people" are considered the "greatest asset"...as well as the "greatest challenge" of any corporation.

Hagar was father Abraham's SECOND WIFE. Sarah was first. He slept with her, she had his first child for him! Whatelse?
The question is NOT whether "God regard" or did not.

Any man with more than one wife (any woman who bore your child, is YOUR WIFE, whether church marriage or customary!) is POLYGAMOUS!

In that regard, Abraham, David, Solomon, Jacob, e.t.c, men whom God dealt with DIRECTLY, are POLYGAMOUS!

I will love to give a reasoned response to your post quoted up there^^^^^

I will make-out the time later but right now, l just want to mention it.

Most of what you attribute to "Polygamy" are everyday issues that also occur in Monogamy.

You also need to distinguish between a "moral requirements" (dont shout at people, always say "please" e.t.c) and "sin" which is a religious injunction.
Polygamy is NOT A SIN...... as a Christian, but to "Westerners" whose "system" to support it or cant accommodate it, it is a "Moral Wrong".

I will go deeper later.

The truth is that most Nigerians ......like this ignoramus excondido are stereotyped when it comes to matters concerning the Army. Just last week, my colleague hit a civilian's vehicle. He immediately apologised and offered to pay for the damages. That is exactly what the greater number of us will do. I say again that we are aware of the bad eggs in our midst. Having a totally civilian friendly Army isn't going to be a day's job. Secondly, i do believe that in generalising about the entire NA, a degree of respect should be cultivated. The average soldier loves his country and goes to extreme lengths to prove it. Visit Maiduguri and see what I mean.
Okay, l get what you are saying.

I dont know you but l have to "accept as truth", what you wrote up there.
You must be a "Gentleman" in real life. That is praise-worthy and l commend you highly for that!

I bet you, if half...just half of the military men "civilians come into contact with", on a daily basis, have your type of mentality, they would be the darling of the nation (and that is how it should be, every man in Uniform, putting his life on the line for THE PEOPLE should be cherished)

But to be honest with you, l have seen and continue to see Uniformed men who think and and look down on every civilian like they are filth
! angry
Imagine that derogatory term: Bloody Civilians? Pray me, what is "bloody" about not being in "uniform"?

While doing my H.S.C back then, close to ten of my very good friends and classmates crossed over to the National Defense Academy.
Today, they are at upper rung of the Military (Col/Brigadier level) but it does not change anything or make them "superior to me" (who did not join the army).
We are all professional and accomplished in our different fields but they dare not refer to me as "bloody"!

I see Uniformed men, especially those on 'rank and file' level, molesting and harassing civilians, even when s uch Uniformed men are in the wrong!
On a particular day, a uniformed man driving a vehicle, drove against traffic (one way) and ran into a civilian's car. The Civilian lady was angry that he drove "one-way", at such speed and asked him if he thought "it makes sense to drive at such speed against traffic"?
Next thing is that the Uniformed guy, so full of himself, came down and "inspected his own car damage and asked her to move-off so he can continue his journey"!

The lady refused to budge, demanding that he "takes responsibility for damaging her car", produce his identity so she can contact him (if he wishes to leave right -away before the Traffic wardens arrive).
he refused to produce any I.D and when the lady decided to use her phone to take pictures of "the scene" him inclusive, he flew into a rage and smashed her phone! He then proceeded to force her keys out of her hand, drive her car off the road and sped off!

I was behind her and took the whole incident on my phone's Camera, including the vehicle details.

To cut a long story short, l calmed the lady and took up the matter with former classmates in the military.
He was traced, severely "room-orderly disciplined", made to pay for "all the damage" and apologized to the Lady (He would have been discharged actually if not that we chose to take it easy).
It is such incidences, happening in public view and frequently, that give Uniformed men a bad name and public opprobium.
People would love to cherish Uniformed personnel but then, we need to face reality.

I agree that it will take time to change that "mentality of civilians are at our mercy" because we are "armed"; something which was very pronounced especially under military rule
.
I think a complete "re-orientation", in form of civic and psychology courses, within the military curricula, is required.
As for the Police, that institution needs to be completely over-hauled, from the caliber of recruits, method of recruiting and training, especially in terms of "background checks and psychiatric evaluation" since they mingle more with the un-armed civilians.

Please keep the flag flying and dont give up in assisting in educating your men, on the need to see civilians as equally human, like themselves.

Respect would naturally begets respect,
"coercion and intimidation" on the other hand, breeds "fear" which dynamically evaporates, once the source of "intimidating power" (being armed) is removed!

Cheers,

It is erroneous to think and state that "our Grandfathers were polygamous simply because they needed "more hands on the farm"!

Patently wrong otherwise, would you use the same logic to say the richest man back then, (King Solomon) and even someone like Billionaire Moshood Abiola, needed more hands on his FARM, thus he married more than one wife?

C'mmon, lets see things objectively naah.

Again,
*l have seen a monogamous man die earlier than a polygamous man!
was it the monogamy that killed him? (That man selling Computer wares at Ikeja *KAVEX Computers* was murdered on the instruction of his ONLY wife! He was monogamous angry )

*I have seen monogamous homes where the children killed each other over "Daddy's property"!
Where they fighting "step children"?

*I have seen monogamous homes where the husband and wife badger each other to pieces!

Was there an "invisible" second wife she was fighting?

*I have seen monogamous homes where the man had NINE children, from just one wife!
shocked
Was it a second wife that caused such battalion?
.......while a polygamous man had five children from two wives!

*I have seen many monogamous homes where poverty was like breakfast, to the children!

A second wife does not make you richer or poorer! Neither does a single wife!

*I have seen monogamous homes were the wife still went ahead to sleep with her husband's driver
(and in another instance, despite his beautiful wife, "Oga" was still laying the house-girl!) huh
It is not only Polygamy that causes the infidelity now, if at all?

*I have seen monogamous homes where the husband was infected with Gonococus because "Madam played AWAY" and brought it home!

It is not only 'polygamy' that spread disease, it is unclean habits ....and sheer ignorance, to leave it untreated!

In essence, dont attribute "any general evil" to polygamy while laundering the image of monogamy.
Finally, because Mr. A's polygamy/monogamy "backfired", does not mean Mr. B's own would go the same way!

Let us put the cards on the table and examine it properly, instead of "giving a Dog a Bad name so we can hang it".
So you're even a man?

All this time, I think say you be woman.
That's not a compliment.
How come it took you "all this time" to decipher such a simple thing as my "gender"?
You sharp no be small O! ......and that is a compliment! wink wink

BTW: Did anyone ask you to "identify" my gender?
Contribute your own opinion to the topic "logically" and leave "gender" out of it.

CIVILIZATION AND WESTERNIZATION is what is wrong with Polygamy!

Whether we like it or not, whether we accept reality or not, the NATURE OF MAN IS POLYGAMOUS!

"Territorial behavior" (a form of Polygamy!) is found in ALL MALE SPECIES!

From "basic" animals, to insects, to "higher" animals like humans.

Just go into the bush and watch a Lion or even a Male Chicken.....and you will learn from "little things".

Again, looking at "human anatomy", it was designed to encourage polygamy in men otherwise, they (men) should have been getting pregnant and their organ should have been a "receptacle" instead of the "external penetrator" that they have! (it was designed to be used "in multiple receptacles" without affecting its effectiveness, unlike that of women...no disrespect to women)

But Western society (and those who have Boko Haram grin ) has tried to demonize it by IMPOSING "laws and rules" which make it unworkable!.
The idea was to SIMPLIFY SUCCESSION AND INHERITANCE ISSUES they have at hand.

Such "rules" are indoctrinated into our heads in "Churches", "Schools", "society" and if we fail to "tow-the-line"....the rules are ENFORCED in the "western style" Law Courts!

Thus, most 'monogamist' are not by choice, but "out of fear" because such men have "no choice"
(even their wife will drive them out of the house in the western world, if they try it)

Of course Women dont like it (just like those chickens and other living things dont like sharing their partners!) and would do anything to demonize it.

That is understandable..................But it has NEVER WORKED!
shocked shocked

The "men" simply device new ways of "practicing it" ---by Cheating on their wife, "Aristo" style, multiple marry and divorce (serial monogamy), children outside marriage, complete secrecy which is only discovered during "his" burial grin , e.t.c

Even the men here proclaiming "monogamy" on moral or religious grounds, are "YET TO BE TESTED"!
Make the "situation right" (for some men, it's money, Power, personal (viz bigamy laws) and family security, e.t.c) for them and you will see the polygamy in them rear its head! grin

And by the way, all the "mentioned ills" of Polygamy are NOT UNIQUE to Polygamy!

For example, division, hatred, jealousy, wickedness, quarrels, fights are also experienced in the "work place" amongst colleagues viz-a-viz office politics!
They are just normal human relationship issues which can and do rear their heads where more than one human is present.------ a "relationship issue" as against a "polygamy issue"

Okay, this is not a favorite topic and l may have ruffled some feathers; Am sorry.

But think about it: 95% of all our laws are derived from "common law" which itself is derived from "Religious injunctions".

Yet "God" (in which ever form) NEVER PUNISHED POLYGAMOUS MEN!
? huh huh huh That l find most unusual!

In Christianity, He issued "an advisory" only but still "fellowshiped" with chronic polygamist like Solomon, Abraham, Jacob. e.t.c.
In Islam, it was expressly encouraged. Ditto other Easter religions.

Okay, no be my business, l have something else to do

Caveat:
This is not an encouragement to be Polygamous. Its just a "rational opinion" on a subject matter. State your own and dont insult me or others! wink

IF U FEEL OFFENDED, BRUSH UR MOUTH WITH ACID AND FEEL BETA.....Long Live NIGERIAN ARMY.

I can see u dont have any contribution. I really didnt write my post so I could win accolades, I did to share my view. So howeva u see it, good or bad, its ur kettle of fish. NEVER u say u gave d military d power to operate. U were never in d exam hall assisting, u were not d drill instructor, u didnt create the army, u didnt donate any material to the army, lastly, d army is not ur private organisation. And, if u think our mode of OPS doesnt suit u, make a change(if u ever can). The ends justifies the means..... I feel so ashamed seeing people say the army isnt protecting them. For heaven's sake thats STARCK ILLITERACY! Hw long can Nigeria remain whole if military protection is withdrawn? If the army was as bad as some of u claim, I think there wuldnt be a single civilian on d streets, not to talk of those who sell in the barracks. There wuldnt be democracy either. Lets try to judge issues based on facts and not assumption. @OP, hw did u knw the boys called GOC? And for d fella who wants to knw my age, am a proud 21yr old who has more brains than u. FYI, am a final student too so dnt call me a tout..... I hope dat makes u fat."
See, you are one of the reasons others think this country has no future, because the "YOUTHS" are supposed to be the future of a country and at 21years of age, your mentality is worse than that of an OSHODI THUG!
You claim you are a "final year student" (though you refuse to state your institution...could it be the Nigerian Defense Academy, NDA?), what did you learn in the last 3yrs+ of schooling? NOTHING!

Its either you are thick in the head or your "instructors" are complete "brain-dead" like yourself.
Just imagine the "tragedy" it would visit on this nation, if your types have the misadventure of seizing power?

For "re-education's sake" (which l think you and your likes who joined the army, thinking it was a 'ticket to absolute power', as was in the old days, need):,
*The basic duty of any army is to PROTECT THE CITIZENS AND THE TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF THE NATION.

*The citizens in-turn, FUND THE MILITARY ESTABLISHMENT. (as against the usurping of power and brazen looting that went on in the "dark days" of military rule,, which has since gone out of fashion!

If you doubt me, go and ask anyone above Brigadier level since those were my own classmates.

So, no "civilian funding", NO ARMY!
Simple.

But because we have a very corrupt and archaic system in place (which affects every facet of our national life), people like you probably joined the army thinking you will be "Babangida" one day and you will have the opportunity to not only loot the treasury but commit atrocities unchecked!

Sorry, l've got bad news for you!
1.) Ex President Mubarak --- CHECK
2.) Ex Military dictator Ghadafi ----CHECK
3.) General Idi Amin ----CHECK
4.) Charles Taylor -------- CHECK
5.) And many more too numerous to mention. All "Military Dictators" who dont subject themselves to civilian authority are doomed.....just like you! grin tongue

So, drop those air of superiority and learn a trade instead!

You are a misfit in the army (if thats where you are)
Your ignorance is so disgusting, for a 21yr old "man"!

Seriously, you are a waste of tax-payers fund and a waste of military man-power!
You cant even spell correctly!

Probably the only thing you learnt in your 3yrs+ in the Army is how you can traumatize civilians? Why then do we have the "Judicial arm" of Government?

Let me bring you in on a little secret!

Brutality IS NOT a show of power........but rather COWARDICE!
Especially if the victim is not armed and you are armed!
Most civilians will take you up and beat you to pulp, if you are deprived of that GUN!
Yes, an u"n-armed civilian" fears an "armed and crazy military Eediot"
just makes sense, right? (and even an "un-armed" military man will run and duck, on facing an armed robber)

I have met some "fine gentle men" in the military (very few as most of you Khaki boys are rude, psychotic, mentally unstable, suicidal, arrogant, uncouth, dubious, UN-intelligent like yourself, prone to stealing and not trust worthy!) but they are rare.

I need you to pick a book on Political History and the impact of the Nigerian Military in destroying democracy in Nigeria.

If per-chance, they're still teaching you about "How to rule, How to plan Coup or how to become President/Governor at the NDA, rather than how to subject yourself to democratic civilian authority, which is the ultimate, then l suggest you tell your boss that they are STUCK IN THE PAST and wasting your time!

The World has changed and if you Khaki boys learned anything in the last 2years and the "Arab Spring", it should be that "No matter how many GUNS you carry, ULTIMATE POWER BELONGS TO THE CITIZENS!
Its just a question of "when they decide to exercise that power".

Its not a choice, its a MUST, to subject the military to civilian authority.
Silly Twa.at!

^^^^^Hear this one! All muscle and no brain!
A Typical example of what is being discussed! huh huh huh
Only a complete Eediot would rather people "fear him" than for people to "respect him"

The Army should not be feared (as a result of brutality, like a beast)...but should be respected, (showcase discipline, self control, maturity, public decorum and respect for the rule of law)

l guess l dont think the way most people think!

I feel one has to weigh one's choices and choose the better of the two evil.....and for me, l think "working it out" would provide better and longer -lasting happiness than "breaking it up"!

A difficult marriage (most relationships, among brothers, sisters, family members, neighbors, husband/wife...are difficult anyway!) is bad - Agreed!

A divorce is terrible - Agreed
.

Question is: Which is the better of the two evils?

All things being considered in arriving at that decision?

In my own thinking, its like when someone is told to say a single "to"
But REFUSED by saying 'I will NOT SAY "to-to-to"'! (Yoruba adage)

In that refusal, he has far exceeded the "initial requirement" (a single 'to') but not just that, he suffers double jeopardy by loosing the benefits associated with 'simple obedience'!

That is the rationale of divorce. The

Hmmmmm......there is so much "LESSON" in this episode!

If only we know "what the future will bring", l guess we will be more guarded in our actions and utterances!

The lesson is in-between that line!

Another "marriage" is broken beyond repair.
Love has died, hearts are torn apart, hatred is replacing love, "fight-over" is replacing "sharing together", Soul-mates have suddenly become Adversaries!

Is this what marriage is all about?
Why dont people "step back" and take a deep breath, (even when they have been wronged, and they are in the right, Yes, you deserve to get angry) ......to try and realize that there is a "bad way" of "claiming your right"?

People may pretend, but l am yet to see anyone who got "happier as a result of divorce"!
They make act out, pretend and experience some short-lived flash of relief (in case of abusive relationships) but at the end, in the long run, SORROW, REGRET, TEARS and EMPTINESS is all that is passed on, after the divorce.

Cant we just do everything possible, even beyond "possible", to create an understanding that would make marriage work?
Every broken marriage is a dream ruined! The dream of "two hearts that were beating as one"...as one before now!
It could have been worse, if children were involved!

This one broke down because they wanted children, another one where the @OP was deeply involved, broke down because of those same children!

Aaye'le! This world is agonizing, to put it mildly.

(shakes head and saunter-off unhappily)
