Politics › Re: Robbery Suspect Caught Among Police Recruits by lastpage: 5:01am On Oct 08, 2012
COOLDUN: True talk my dear, whatever the Nigeria police is today, we the citizens contributed much to it. If you refuse to give bribe police will stop asking for bribe POLICE WILL SIMPLY SHOOT YOU.

If we work and co-operate mutually with police by exposing our parents, uncles, inlaws, brothers and sisters that are criminals, police will find their job very easier POLICE WILL INFORM THEM YOU ARE THE "INFORMANT"!.

How do you expect police to fish out the criminals we are hiding and protecting? BY CONDUCTING THEIR OWN "INVESTIGATION"!

Even the corrupt police are our relatives let us expose the criminals so that we will not need much of police presence in our society.
When police do good job, please let us commend them, when they do bad job then we can condemn them than criticizing every move they make irrespective of the impact it makes to the society UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HARDLY DO A GOOD JOB!.

When you praise someone for doing well, then he should know when he is doing wrong or bad thing THE POLICE ARE NOT BABIES, THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHO THEY LOAN THEIR GUNS TO AND HOW MUCH EACH GOES FOR!.

I have seen that Nigerians like more criticism [s]that is why they can no longer know when someone has done well[/s] THE POLICE IS YOUR "FWUIEND", THAT'S WHY WE ARE INTERESTED IN THEIR WELL-BEING!.
Sorry l had to edit your post, it was the most 'authentic" amongst all the posts! grin grin wink

HiiiPower: Are those road sweepers at Euston and Victoria stations diasporans?
Are those on early morning cleaning also diasporans?
Are the security guards diasporans?
Are the care workers and factory workers diasporans?
Those are the majority of Nigerians outside Nigeria.
Heck, they live hand to mouth daily. Yet in the process
of gagging and trying to create new identities, they label themselves
as "diasporans" just to feel better than the rest. It's naff!

I'm Nigerian and I love Nigeria.
coogar: utter crap....
what would you have them do? online begging like the army of youths in nigeria? you see nigerians who are doing their jobs honestly and you are casting aspersions? it is from those menial jobs that many of them feed families @ home, build houses and support young ones in school. a security officer abroad earns more than most bank managers in nigeria - so i ask, what's your grief with a nigerian female cleaning euston station? there's more dignity in that than your sisters fücking politicians every weekend to make ends meet!

Seems that our Naija brother is suffering from SELECTIVE AMNESIA!

How did you forget to mention the thousands of Nigerians in the same U.K who are Doctors, Engineers, Computer Scientists, Lawyers, e.t.c (qualified professionals!)

Even the Otedolas, Jim Ovias, Dangotes, that you mention.......all have "Homes" in these foreign countries, HOMES where they come to get "real rest of mind" from the chaos that is Nigeria!
wink wink

All those peeps you mention up there are very proud Nigerians!

They do Nigeria more good than the hordes of yahoo-yahoo "locals" that send thousands of E-mails to foreigners, looking for a way to scam them!

They work hard and they get paid.
At an average of 500GBP/week (2,000GBP monthly = #500,000 averagely), how many of your local champions who don "suit and tie" in the burning sun, earn just #200,000 monthly?.
Or is it not that same country where the "dream of a University Graduate" is to DRIVE a "DANGOTE TRAILER"? grin grin

If most Nigerians are as diligent as those people you mention, our image would not be this bad world-wide......and the culprits are those millions of unemployed youths in Nigeria, who are just desperate to survive.

I would rather be a street sweeper in U.S, than be a "Kidnapper or Ritualist" in Nigeria! shocked shocked
I would rather wash Easton station in U.K than "steal money" meant for a Children's hospital in Nigeria, to live like a big-man in Nigeria!

There is always dignity in labor, "Oole lo'bomo je"!

Granted, a Nigerian is a Nigerian, whether home or abroad.
This "differentiation" is a waste of energy and completely stewpid!

Everyone, local and abroad, should contribute something to the betterment of our country.
It seems the real bitter people (for reasons l still cant fathom) are those that accuse Nigerians in Diaspora, as being bitter.
I remember that Dora Akinyuli also said the same thing, like two years ago (the woman has suddenly become a multi-millionaire and Governorship aspirant, after working in Government for a few years!..Hmmmm)

Most "Diasporeans" come home regularly, we even bring our kids home on holidays, yet someone says "they are stuck abroad"? We build houses in Nigeria, we "invite" family members for visits, we have "well funded" account in Nigeria.....yet they say we are bitter? huh huh
Bitter over what? The very few Nigerians that loot the treasury and live large? Or those that use fellow humans in money rituals? What is there to envy in "blood money"?
Most of you guys are just suffering from DELUSION OF GRANDEUR!

Diasporeans are not bitter, we are just unhappy with our folks back home, who fulfill the "cave man's theory"!
Until you leave the confines of the cave, you may never know that "light" exist outside.
We are unhappy that despite all the natural resources and man-power we have, we are one of the poorest people on earth!
Wetin sef?

No need to beef each other, we s should all work for the greatness of our country.

In Diaspora,

*l speak my language, l teach it to my children too.

*Even on a cold Sunday, l dress in my "Nigerian Attire" to church and l cook and eat my Nigerian food.

*I send hard "earned money" to less fortunate Nigerian family members and l do come "home' to spend my holidays.

*I am proud to announce my 'Nigerian-ness" to anyone who cares to listen, despite all the negative info emanating from Nigeria, into the globosphere!

*If any foreigner speaks ill of my country, l defend her stoutly despite the fact that l know we are guilty of some of these ills

*I speak my "English" with a proud "Nigerian accent" and dont pretend l am now "Oyinbo"! grin

*I dont participate in scamming (Yahoo yahoo) cause l dont believe in giving my country a bad name, in diaspora

*I dont benefit from Government corruption in any way, yet even while leaving in diaspora, l still pay TAX to my Nigerian Government, l pay my Tenement rate, just like any other Nigerian.

*When things go wrong in my dear country, l contribute my own "opinion" on the way forward.
I dont mince words, l call a spade, a spade because l think that is the way forward!

YET,

*You think l am BITTER about my country 'cos l live abroad?

*You prefer l bury my head in the sand, like an Ostrich and pronounce: "It is well in Nigeria"?

*You want me to see "blackout" and say PHCN is doing a perfect job?

*You want me to see pot-holes and say our roads are well paved?

*You want me to see Hospitals that have been turned to mortuaries but say our health system is running well?

*You want me to see a government that does not care about its own people, one with a leader that goes abroad for medical check-up while millions of my Nigerian folks have no access to basic first aid?.....and say "Government is trying"?

*You want me to observe Government officials taking bribe for every "right of the citizen"......and l should say the system is not corrupt?

*You want me to see refuse everywhere and still say our environment is clean?

I speak the TRUTH about our Nation and you say l am bitter?

***You cannot distinguish between a "honest criticism of a failed system"......and bitterness?

***You cannot distinguish between criticizing "Hypocrisy, cronyism, insanity and corruption"......and bitterness?

You my friend, needs to examine your head!

The "West" did not get where it is today, by all of them being "YES MEN"....even till this moment, you need to witness the "rigorous debate" that goes on in their Parliamentary sittings".....and compare it with our own in Nigeria where it "all Say Aye" if you agree that we should "double our allowances"! All say "aye" and it is carried!
grin

Come to think of it, only a sycophant will say he or she is "not bitter" at the "state of Nigeria", a country so blessed and yet so ruined by its own people!

If labeling me as "bitter" is the price l have to pay, to get this country working again, then l will gladly pay it............but this country MUST work again, for the sake of our unborn generation

Dignitary: I love Nigerians...

So gullible and sheepish!!!

Someone who is not a journalist, whose view is not authoritative..someone who has not elicited any evidence to show that Pastor Adeboye indeed said all he has alleged said the man of God said 'don't marry frm RCCG' and y'all believe!!! So sick!!!

Many have not only believed but they have started hurling insults at the man of God...Well, I now know the reason why so many ppl have problems without knowing the cause of their problems.

My friends, let's exercise caution when we talk about men of God!!! Even if u don't believe they are men of God, it will do u a whole lot of good if u exercise restraints...God can do anything to ppl that despise his prophets and pastors !!! He's a consuming fire!!!

Assuming but not conceding that he said all you said, I believe the context in which that was said must be considered too!!! Sincerely speaking, I believe Christians from different denominations can marry each other!!! My Bible does not tell me otherwise and I do believe that Pastor Adeboye will share this view since he allows Pastors from other churches to preach in RCCG!!!

But if indeed he said all these, it must not be isolated from the context in which he said it!!! It's end time guys...D devil is desperately Interested in bringing down men of God that are constant threats to his kingdom!!! DON'T ALLOW URSELF TO B USED BY THE devil
In other words?
As long as it is G.O. Adeboye, he is above the law?

No be only end-time, na begin-time! grin grin

Politics › Re: EFCC To Arrest Priests Over Atuche’s N45 Million Tithe by lastpage: 7:08am On Oct 05, 2012
paris10: While most tithers aren't allowed to disclose their names when paying it, there are exceptions. £35 million tithe or even £10 million always arouse the suspicion of a Priest. Don't be fooled, Priests/Pastors knows the name of members who are capable of paying such huge amount. These members usually have special meetings with the Priest/Pastors behind closed doors.

Churches now know who pay what tithe. They now have a tithe number for their members. The numbers represent the names of these members. Priests have in time past summon members for non payment of tithe. How do they know this? They know you! They observe your givings and monitoring every huge donations you make.

Churches are now like Big Brothers!

And God forbid you need a "Reference" from your church in future!
The Church will disown you completely....... after-all, you no dey pay Tithe!

Even for "unemployed youths" in church to avail of church job adverts, your Tithe position will have to be confirmed first!
See how they arm-twist members into this their financial rascality, huh? huh

Politics › Re: Arik Presents Ipad3 to Omojuwa, Elrufai's Mouth Piece And Chief Hacker(pix) by lastpage: 6:50am On Oct 05, 2012
ogugua88: It isn't about him standing up to Arik. It's about the manner in which he chose to do so. There's a big difference.

If he had conducted himself properly, then eyes wouldn't have turned to him when Arik's site was hacked. Also, people wouldn't be suspicious of him if he wasn't tweeting from an(another) iPad.

He could use a lesson or two on how to conduct yourself when all eyes are on you. Nobody needs a grown man throwing tantrums as a leader of tomorrow. He won't be the first to be cheated (if he was at all), and he won't be the last.
Ogugua,
you need to calm down a bit!
You need to also see things from the "other side" of the coin.

Let me summarize the issues a bit:

*The guy's I-Pad was stolen on Arik flight

*He made a lot of noises, through "Tweeter".....and a lot of people agreed with him and "followed" him (did you?)

*As usual of Nigerian entities, Arik strutted and postured while averring that it will not own up to its responsibility for the "Safety of passenger articles" on its flight.

*He threatened a law suit of 50Million Naira if Arik does not give him his I-Pad back

*At last, Arik buckled and offered to give him a new I-Pad as replacement, not withstanding that it was better than the stolen one.

NOW:
You and other "followers" complained that:
*He should have gone on with the suit
*He was responsible for Arik website being hacked
*He should have informed his "Tweeter followers" about the deal h is cutting with Arik
*He was throwing tantrums, as an adult. You also alleged that he was selfish
!

Now, lets look at issues OBJECTIVELY:

They say "the "end" justifies the "means".

1.) I guess if his "objective" was to get his I-Pad back, he has achieved his objective.

2.) Law suits are very expensive (legal fees et al), takes considerable time and there is no guarantee that you will win or the judge would not only award a "nominal 50,000 Naira compensation" in your favor, which may not even cover "transport", talk-less of legal fees. Its a last option which should be avoided unless everything else fails. Everything else has not failed in this case.

3.) There is nothing, no shred of evidence that you have provided to show that he was responsible for the hacking of Arik's website. Anyone with a small knowledge of Hackers will know that they dont need an "invitation" to do their job but see it as a "Moral Crusade" to use their knowledge to punish those who oppress the members of the public. CIA, FBI, VISA, MasterCard, MI5 and some other high profile website has been hacked, in protest against the hounding of Wikkileaks Julian Assange.
Assange did not ask them to do it, they just did it to show their own displeasure. This guys case is no different.

4.)That you guys "followed" him on Tweeter does not mean he owes you any (luckily, he did inform you guys through the same "Tweeter medium", that issue is now resolved!). It was your own personal choice and that of many others, to believe in what he was doing and to "follow" him. You did not contribute money to him, to take a legal challenge nor did he 'advertise" that you should follow him! It was your choice to do so.

5.) Since his loss was a "personal loss", any decision to mitigate his loss still remains his own personal decision, he does not need to "call a Town hall meeting of Followers" like you, to make that decision. .

He does not need to consult any "wider public"..... (To do that would mean he is actually "grandstanding" and taking the issue beyond a "personal loss" of a personal item). It is you the gullible faithful followers that either wanted to turn this issue into something significant (a storm in a tea-cup!) OR maybe you guys have an "ulterior motive" apart from the guy recovering his stolen I-Pad or it being replaced? Very ridiculous!!

6.) You claimed he was tweeting from an I-Pad all along. Now, this is a very silly statement, coming from an adult. That one I-Pad was stolen does not mean he should have no access to "another i-Pad"? He could use a friends own, a family-member's own, a place of work-issued one and many other avenues to use one!
That does not distract from the fact that his I-Pad was stolen on an Arik flight.
Why you chose to make an issue of such simplistic thing is surprising!

6.) Finally, this is one person, irrespective of his political leanings, who stood-up for his right. Yes, he got his I-Pad back.
if all Nigerians, rise-up, use tweeter to "make a lot of noise" and get their wrongs, righted, then we are on our way to glory-land! Nothing else matters.

I am still at a loss at all the gripe being thrown at the guy like "you'all agreed that he would win 50Million Naira and he would share it out amongst all his "tweeter followers"? Did he let you guys down on that account by settling "out of court"? grin

I say like this guy, let us all learn to stand-up for our right, make noise and give them bad publicity, if that is the language they understand and that is what they dont want! wink

The guy whose I-Pad was stolen has been reimbursed, let all "followers" find something more worthwhile to do instead of beefing the guy or did he take anything else from you, that you need to collect back? huh huh

It is you "followers" that need to stop throwing tantrums on an issue that is already resolved!Activism is not about engaging in a mindless and senseless court process when the "objective" could be achieved in a less costly manner!
It is the 'achievement of the objective' that matters, not the process used
(which is more abouit "grandstanding", anyway!) grin grin

Car Talk › Re: New Or Tokunboh Car Parts: Which Do You Prefer? by lastpage: 6:15pm On Oct 04, 2012
luvinhubby: The following factors are basic in determining

PURCHASING POWER - As earlier pointed out, OEM or OEQ parts are very expensive, consider buying an OEM fuel pump for N25,000 were as you can get tokunbo or China cloned for below N5,000. Most Nigerian car owners earn so little that they can`t afford OEM parts.

GREED - Chinese firms make very good parts that can meet equipment manufacturers specification, but don`t come cheap and because Chinese govt. do not force their factories to comply with ISO quality levels, anybody can manufacture anything and the lower the quality the cheaper the price and the average Nigerian auto parts importer will maximise profit at the expense of standard quality so will prefer to import the lowest grade for highest profit and 85 percent of the auto parts in Nigeria come from China and they come mainly through these greedy auto parts merchants. But a few others insist on U.S specification from Chinese manufacturers and they don`t come cheap.

NEEDED PART - Parts like complete engines, Transmission gear boxes do not come in new ones, so your only option for such item is tokunbo.

AVAILAIBILITY - OEM parts are mainly available for newer generation cars and are stocked by the auto companies or their reps in Nigeria and they often do not stock for the specs that they don`t sell. A Honda Place, will not touch or attend to your car if imported from U.S. and they sell mainly European spec Honda cars in brand new in Nigeria and the companies that stock OEM spares are few and far in-between in Nigeria.

SUBMISSION - New parts are better if only you can trust the dealers source, there Original Equipment Manufacture(OEM) parts - not readily availaible and are damn too expensive, Original Equipment Quality (OEQ) parts which are maufactured by companies that manufacture component parts for auto manufacturer (e.g. Tokico , Khyosan, Lucas, Daikin, Nissin and DEPO) which are better and last long and parts the meet Original equipment manufacturer specification(OES). DO NOT JUST TRUST YOUR MECHANIC, SOURCE YOUR PARTS YOURSELF.
You've said it all!

But let me ask: if a "New" part that is FAKE costs #5,000 and the same part as Tokunboh that is "original" costs #3,500 and the same "NEW", Genuine & Original part costs #20,000, which one of these three provides the "best" ECONOMIC DECISION to buy, in the long run, say over three years?

You'll probably buy the FAKE one ten times in three years (it falls of like mad!) = 5,000 x 10 =#50,000.

You'll probably buy the "Genuine" Tokunboh like five times (already near its life span) = 3,500 x 5 = #17,500

You'll probably buy the OEM Genuine part once in three years (replacement cycle mostly) = 20,000 x 1 = #20,000

Thus, buying all these "Fake, New parts" imported by our brothers, is not only a waste of money, think about the risk you're taking, putting the life of you and your family in the "care" of such Fake products?

I think what we have is a "failure of our structures and systems" otherwise, in any sane society, those who "fake items" (be it Drugs, car parts, electrical goods, children toys, e.t.c) are on the same level as MURDERERS!

The effect of their actions goes far beyond the surface (they are killers)and they should be SHOT or given a life sentence...like any other armed criminal angry angry

But in Nigeria, anything goes, even Oyinbo people don follow join! shocked grin grin

this is not really about promiscuity or sex drive! looking at this critically - it's our archaic culture that has turned housewives into glorified pröstitutes - a woman who married a man and still waiting for the fruit of the womb after 5 yrs with the in-laws are threatening to bring a second wife would get a child by any means. the report said majority of the bastards are first born which suggests that women do this shit to keep their place in their husband's house!

It was not apparent on the other subsequent children (which means the man is not impotent or unable to father children, so that excuse does not wash one bit!)

I think one craze persin suggested that "Our Mothers should start "preparing" their kids for Divorce"....
......instead of wasting time "preparing them for marriage"!

I mean, how warped can someones thinking become?

IMHO, l think its not going to get better but rather get worse.......with the kind of mentality amongst most women folk!
As for "MEN", maybe avoiding marriage (legal marriage) like a plague, is the best and only option

The younger generation of men needs to wise-up.
Marriage seems to be turning to a "gender war".

Sign an "asset share" contract ab initio
(or at least dont put yourself in a situation where a woman will clean you out whenever she decides to leave), have kids and look after them, be together and if she wants to take a hike, open the door for her.

Its time some women realize that "staying married to them", is NOT a favor to men wink wink

femosky07: .......

I'm currently serving in the British Army as a Logistic Supply Specialist, and as part of my training, I had to learn to drive trucks. I currently have a car licence and 2 truck licences all paid for by the Army. Acquiring a truck licence in the UK costs between £2,000 - £3,000.........

Regarding the relevance of having truck driving experience, let me tell you a little about myself..

I come from an IT background (Web development to be precise), I graduated here in the UK with a degree in IT & Business Information Systems (where I was introduced to Logistics & Supply Chain Management Processes and Systems). After university, I worked as an e-commerce developer with an electronics equipment supplier. I was responsible for all the online e-commerce stuff, payment integration etc..but I also learned a lot about order processing, shipping etc. I had always been fascinated by the retail industry in the UK (both online and offline), and this job exposed me to all the things that went on in the background before an item got to your front door or got on the shelves (e.g Tesco, ASDA, New Look, Asos, H&M etc)

Anyway, so I joined the Army to get my hands dirty in "Logistics & Supply"..and I'm enjoying it so far............... I resigned and chose to do this.

My simple point is this, no knowledge is lost.
Off to Germany tomorrow to resume my new posting...whoop whoop!!
@Femosky07, l wish you a good time in Germany.
I really enjoyed your post and it was inspirational.

I am one of those who think this recruitment drive, particularly targeted at "Nigerian Graduates", is insulting.
I have sad that much in my earlier post.

NOW:
I want to draw "parallels" between your post/situation...... and that of the guys being recruited here and in the process, show that "we are comparing APPLES and ORANGES....or better still, Apples and Bitter Cola".
They aint similar at all.

1.) You were already involved in the Supply-chain management, (as the online developer for a store/s) and your joining the army was to further your career in the same direction.

These guys in question would probably be those who read philosophy, Linguistics, Biology, e.t.c.... nothing related to Truck Driving! They are just hungry and unemployed!

2.) You were gainfully employed, left one job for another, that was more challenging and will further deepen your knowledge of your industry.

These guys are unemployed and desperate Youths who are being taken for a ride!
Someone said (l think pr001) that if Dangote could pay them 70K/Monthly (that's about 75GBP per week!), then they would be earning far better than some Insurance Marketers!. I dont have to ask but l am sure your own type of "truck driver" earns in the region of 600GBP every week, minus all sorts of unimaginable perks!

These guys would do anything for money, our "employers" know this and would take advantage of their desperation to the fullest.

3.) You were a graduate and was the odd one out in your unit as l am also sure that a lot of O'Level guys drive a truck. As a matter of fact, the proficiency Exams does not require that you hold a School Cert Grade.

In our own case, the advert was specifically targeted at "Nigerian Graduates", a psychological onslaught on their mental psyche!.

It's not that we dont have illiterates that drive Trailers (many of them are, especially the mallams of Dangote's extraction) and its not that we dont still have thousands of them who still want to drive Trailers for a living, ......it is that he recognized the level of embarrassing unemployment amongst Nigerian Youths....and he is poised to "rub it on their face" after all, do they have a better choice?

4.) While it is good to "be grateful" for little mercies, INDIGNITY is a word that creeps in, when one is very desperate......especially unlike the U.K and other Western countries where "Social Cushion Payments" does not allow you to degenerate to the level of abject and dehumanizing poverty. This is where these Graduate Trailer drivers are coming from!

Let me quote a supporter of this recruitment in an earlier post "@pr001: The bitter truth is that things are really harsh out there; we have an unemployment crisis of unprecedented proportions on our hands, and it is rapidly getting worse - with thousands of graduates creeping out of the universities like bedbugs yearly to join their older counterparts in the over-saturated labour market. The prospects are dim, and the future, grim. Those of us that are a bit fortunate should never lose sight of the true situation out there." End of quote.

This is how different the situation of these guys, are to yours.

If this Dangote is really concerned about ameliorating the unemployment situation in the country (not minding that he is one of those who have exploited and profiteered from the brazen corruption, kick-backs and unethical business practices which throw-up Billionaires in a tiny few and makes poverty a staple food of hundreds of million of Nigerians), I suggested that he sets up a "dignifying" project that would, as in your case, further the career aspirations of this Graduates, in their qualified field.

*Mechanised farming
*Auto Industry
*Bio-technology
*Computer Manufacture and or Assembly
*High-Tech manufacturing

Let him continue to train and re-train (as the Army has done for you) those reckless murderers that drive his rickety and dangerous Trailers (none of his Trailers will ever drive a Kilometer on British road without being impounded and CRUSHED right away!)

You dont need to be a Graduate to drive a TRAILER. My point.
So, why make the entry-bar a "Graduate level Position"?

How would it sound if one Mr. Bruton wants to recruit Truck Drivers and puts out an advert in the U.K Times, saying Minimum Qualification: University Graduate
? shocked shocked

What do you think will happen?
A riot, a Parliamentary hearing and a very big, punitive sanction on Mr. Bruton, for bringing her Majesty's regime to disrepute and public opprobium!

But in Nigeria, we have descended so low to the level that "dignity in Labor and sanctity of Life itself" has vamoosed from our dictionary!

The problem does not just lie with Dangote alone, it lies even more with the kleptomaniacs we have in and out of government who despite all the wealth of the land they have stolen, can only lodge same in Swiss banks, under their bed and where they decide to "launder it" into legit business, they do so with some uncanny, evil ruthlessness that can only be allowed in a place like Nigeria.

*They would not help the poor if that act would not get them adequate publicity!
*They would not set-up business to employ people except the government is willing to give them a Monopoly which allows them to further exploit the poor citizens (read as DANGOTE)
*Where they even propose employment, they would structure the interview process in away that the few that eventually get the job would be so demoralized, ridiculed and made to feel that giving them that job is a big privilege!

Compare the acts of our own Billionaires with that of "secret Billionaires" in the Western world who go about ANONYMOUSLY, helping people in 'real need" and demanding that their identity be not revealed!
That is altruistic as against our own "ego-massaging" rich men.

I dont envy them but l pity our Youths......that in a country so blessed with "free natural resources", we can not be like a UAE, QUATAR, BRITISH or SAUDI GRADUATE, who on graduation, can boast that "life is just about to begin"!

In our own case, it is N.Y.S.C (Now Your Suffering Begins!) huh huh angry cry cry

Cheers.

I am shocked beyond belief "that the "DREAM of a Graduate" is to drive a Trailer!

Did you guys actually enrolled in the University to study how to "drive a Trailer".........or how is driving a Trailer for Dangote, YOUR DREAM?

This is nothing but "a psychological abuse" of our Youths!

If for example, you read Engineering or Computer Sc. or Biological Science or even Mathematics, Philosophy or Education, how does that "add-up" to driving a TRAILER for Dangote?

Is it that as a "Graduate", you are short on ideas on what to do with your life, even if it is a small, "self-employed business" ......that you have to be ridiculed like this?
You need to close your eyes, blank out everything and engage your brain...to come up with ideas that could enhance your person and fetch you money alongside.

I know jobs are scarce but Please......

Instead of ridiculing "Graduates" like this, these half-educated Dangote (Its strange how people who dont have something, try to ridicule those who have it!) would do better by establishing "projects" where these Graduates can put their education to use, .......not turning a trailer of cement, all over Nigeria!
huh huh

For example, he could set-up a 'world class' Agricultural Estate, fully equipped and completely mechanized, with research Labs where Biological Sciences Graduates can put their knowledge to use, where Engineering students can design, repair and build Agric equipments, where new, "enhanced hybrid crops" can be produced.........

...............Without denigrating the dignity of these Young Graduates!

Fri Christ sake, how many of "Dangote's people" who are University Graduates, will be attending this stewpid interview?

How low can life get in this country of ours?

Sooooo Sad!

greateros: in as much as i empathize with the 'victimized' ladies, we should all understand that their are two sides to every story especially when it involves relationship.

Before passing judgement and calling names, its fair to hear the side of the other persons involved - women have a way of telling domestic violence stories to suite their sideundecided

am not married so don't crucify me lipsrsealed.

Dont mind "some" of these "silly women" who for lack of good upbringing, end-up destroying their own homes!

(l know some of them will still use the same "sharp tongue" on me for saying this...just watch!)

Any sensible person can even see through where the trouble lies, from the woman's own statement which l will "quote and analyze" below:

Obiang: Obiang who was once married to the 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' host, Frank Edoho said, "Just to dare to argue with your husband is like a challenge in your home. The woman is challenging the man and tempers flay and then you snap, then there is a slap. He says 'I am sorry it is a mistake' then says 'sorry I won't do it again,' then he does it again, again and again.
.

Arising Questions:

1.) Why argue violently with your husband, to the point where "Temper's flare"?

2.) Why not just 'take a deep breath' or sip a cup of water (this has often work for me when l am annoyed) and let "Tempers cool down"? Then re-visit the matter in a calm manner.

3.) In any "hot argument"....and "tempers will flare", one person must "calm down" otherwise it will lead to a fight!
It is called "confrontation" and war of "will".
Now, if l know that l cannot "physically over-power" someone, WHY would l "CHALLENGE HIM/HER" into 'heated argument leading to confrontation'?, l will be a fool not to know when to bark-out!

4.) But if l continue to the point of "provocation" (which is a natural progression of events in a heated argument/confrontation) ....and get smacked, is it not common sense to know that "l got it coming"?

5.) If l cant control my own temper, why do l expect the other person involved to be able to control his own?.......or dont we both have emotions and self control? Okay, he is a man and is supposed to be a "superior super man"?
No way, we are both equal! huh huh
If this woman repeats the same "provocation" with another "woman" outside, she will still get smirked! Or have we not seen a woman beating the hell out of another woman?
Men do same to each other when one dont know when to bark out of a confrontation!
Just common sense, not some ego! That's the "PLAIN BITTER TRUTH" of any fight.

6.) That the "man APOLOGIZED afterwards" shows that his actions are not "premeditated" but an "instantaneous reaction to provocation". He shows that he wishes not to have gone that far (in his heart), if not for being provoked beyond 'self control'.
In Physics, there is a universal law which says that "Action and Reaction are EQUAL and OPPOSITE"

You hit a wall, it hit you back, cos you feel the pain in your knuckles! You dont hit it, you dont feel that pain. S-I-M-P-L-E!

So, the simple and easiest solution to all these squabbles and violence in the family is for BOTH PARTIES to stop PROVOCATIVE ACTIONS that lead to "physical fights"!

Let the woman be a "woman" ....gentle, subtle, respectful, full of sweetness and endearing words! Not the aggressive, confrontational and insulting ones like that woman!

Also, let the man be "a man"......slow to anger, caring and full 'leadership' and 'headship' of his family!
Not some drunken pugilist or excessively domineering type.

In my own humble opinion, until women generally learn to "accept their place and position in a marriage", there will ALWAYS be trouble.
"Two Captains" in "One ship" is a recipe for disaster....."Time" has shown that to be true.

http://www.leadership.ng/nga/articles/35599/2012/09/25/national_theatre_spend_n22m_typewriters.html

In the 21st century when most of the world’s typewriter manufacturing companies have long closed shops, the National Theatre is spending a whopping sum of N22.8 million to purchase the few remaining ones.

Demand for the machines has sunk in the last 10 years as consumers switch to computers.

LEADERSHIP checks showed that typewriters are at the end of their line as most of the world’s typewriter manufacturers have closed down their plants or converted to other lines of productions.

In the face of this development, the National Theatre provided for N22.8 million in its 2012 budget for the purchase of typewriters.
