ignis: How can you differentiate london used BB from nigeria used BB, is it written on the body? My dear most of these so called london used BB are nigerian used. The safest course of action is to avoid buying any second hand BB as you don't the crime it's subsequently involved with.If you buy an "locked BB" on say Orange or O2 network...........Would you think it was a Nigerian used BB? Those networks can only happen on such "Tokunboh" Phones ![]() Thats just one way to differentiate it. ![]() I am just looking out for those who cant afford 'brand new BB' but if one can afford it, NEW is always better in ANYTHING!
Boy, you know you killed your wife. The eyes of God are watching.
Lastpage: Another Eediot on the prowl!
Save your energy for his court trial.
Exactly what you should have done earlier (save your bad-belle for his court trial),....... before spewing nonsense about "another humanbeing" who for all we know, may be innocent ....except "IF" the "guilty as accused MONSTERS and Men-haters" like you, can SHOW US THE EVIDENCE OF HIS GUILT! "Fairness" is what EVERYONE DESERVES...Everyone! Even in law, Everyone is presumed INNOCENT, until PROVEN GUILTY AT LAW! Just remember, the same "yardstick" you use in judging others (guilty as accused, without any evidence), shall be used to judge you eventually. Its not a curse, its called "the law of Karma"! ![]() Lastpage! BTW: You and your silly "MODS" are always hiding posts that you dont like, like NLand is your family inheritance ......and you couldn't help quoting the same Post in your response! Demdem: Jonathan Angry over Leakage of Patience's illnessThe LESSON in all these? Stop doing everything in SECRET! I still get amazed when "public figures" think they are entitled to the same level of "privacy" like "ordinary folks"? ![]() For God's sake, every public office has its own "benefits/perks and worries". And again, Nigerian leaders are too obsessed with doing things in secret, even when the need does not arise! Imagine if the President has just mentioned it "in-passing" during a speech, that his wife is ill and would be undergoing a minor "Appendicitis" operation in Germany? That would certainly have taken the wind out of any rumor It is when you make an event "important" by keeping it secret, its then that others try to use it against you! That is the first law of Blackmail. He can sack and reconstitute his security aides a thousand times but he should also remember we live in the "digital age" and NOTHING IS SECRET ANYMORE! ![]() Even American Pen.ta.gon could nto keep secret, it is "Aso Rocks" that is trying to keep secret? GudluckIBB: I will never buy a faily use bb phone again.wether london,America or even japanese use,i will not buy anymore.Thank God for Ebay and Amazon. But some of those things sold on Ebay and Amazon are also "used Products"? Imagine if someone registered an account on Ebay and put this "same Cynthia phone" up for sale there, would you not have bought it?......................and how would you be different from this "P/Harcourt buyer" then? "New" is better in everything you buy, (except in Nigeria where "Tokunboh car parts" are touted to be better than "new parts" 'cos "New = FAKE/Iboh-made" over here!) though due to poverty, a lot of peeps struggle to buy new items. Lastpage! |
fortyfeet: the last used item i bought was from a neighbour who returned from the united states. i still don't feel safe.If its from "overseas" not likely it would have been used for such crimes! Dont stress yourself, its the "Nigerian used BB" (like this one) you should worry about. Moreover, what about "used cars", used Laptop......even "Okrika" used cloth is not left out! ![]() Lastpage! |
asha 80: i doubt that the candidate for (no 2) that would win on any eventuality is the type of yoruba candidate that yorubas would like to vote for.history is there for all to see.You are right. Yorubas dont vote like sheep or suffer from herd-mentality! They are so critical in decision-making, they will only vote for you if they feel you're the right person at the right time. I guess the "history" you are referring to, is the OBJ (1999) colossal loss in Yoruba land? Then, he was a "northern Stooge" but trust the Yoruba race, we "turned it" against them eventually! ![]() asha 80: as for (no 1) forget it as the chance of each region getting that was lost sometime ago. And how do you think the Igbos can actualize "Biafra" if they cant court the support of the Yorubas in particular? You think the Hausas have a good opinion of them, to allow them secede? The only reason the Hausas would not massacre the Igbos once again, if they try to bail-out is if the Yorubas make it obvious they would back the Igbos (and bail-out themselves! ). So, it becomes a question of "who needs it (secession) most"? And from what we read everyday, its t he Igbos who are desperate to bail-out. In conclusion, all these bigotry against someone you need most (Yorubas) is like shooting yourself in the face! ![]() This is what l am trying to point out to all our "internet warriors", Igbo brothers. Calm down and strategize or it will be another "regrettable" waste of lives, oil discovery not withstanding Lastpage! |
Instead of discussing issues based on FACTS, you guys are abusing each other and engaging in bigotry? ![]() Dont let your "personal emotions" about any Political Figure' guide your reasoning please. .....and these goes to the two sides. As of now, l think the record has been set straight. let it go. Lastpage! |
DivideUs: the military which i was a part of accounts for bullets but the police do not and their training doesn't include having their guns on safety hence the accidental discharge (dat should be changed) which is why no military personnel wants to go on any task force with the police cos there are cases of accidental discharges especially when you hit a pot-hole. i have commanded a few task force myself and like my colleagues i can tell you i fear the police very well when alone especially on highways, most of them are drunk and trigger happy so avoid them at all cost.Na waa o! Coming from military man! What hope for the "poor, unharmed CIVILIAN"? See, this is why l think everyone should have the right to bear arms. These Stewpid Policemen, drunk 90% of the time, collude with Thieves and armed robbers, to rob civilians. I have seen it happen many times, even in day light, they give cover to thieves. Why should l not be able to defend my family against a trigger happy, uncouth , drunk and imbecilic Police man? He shoots, I shoot! Next time, he thinks TWICE before shooting. Lastpage |
emmatok: Where did you get that from.Naaah bro. Sentiments aside. If l get my "saved version" of the "Obachonjo" / "Obi of Onitsha" and "Policeman in Abeokuta" angle to that story, l will send it to you. Even some Egba Monarchs challenged his history/lineage back then when he was President and he "removed them from office" and imposed his own! Lastpage! BTW: Things are so bad in this country that the definition of "A HERO", has taken on a very disreputable and sorry meaning! ![]() |
Demdem: But some NLers especially the pro-Retardeens believe this Tinubu guy is a criminal and wanted in the USHe has answered for his sins NOW. He did a "Plea Bargain". America confiscate our Stolen Wealth, while Tinubu walks Free..... .....The Citizens of Lagos are the losers naah! Lastpage! BTW: He was not invited officially to the Democratic Convention (as official delegate). (Its a public function and he is free to attend!) He went for another "function" which l watched on TV and that one is concluded, but if he chose to attend the Democratic Convention as "an observer", Thats his choice, no need to pull wool over anyone's eye here! |
asha 80: what you said above might be true but i do not see how the yorubas would get regional autonomy (which if you are honest to admit is what yorubas what) without some sort of battle against the feudal north as they are not going to give up on this structure easily.I am not advocating regional autonomy in my post. I was "reacting" to those who say that once the Igbo leave Lagos, it is doomed. having said that, l think in order of priority, the Yorubas: 1.) Yorubas will prefer "Confederacy" where each region is semi-autonomous in terms of "development, income and expenditure) ....and we contribute "a percentage" to the central government. We actually prefer this the most as we get the benefit of a big country (big market, big population, e.t.c) while maintaining our "ability and flexibility" to develop at our own pace and challenge ourselves. Best of both worlds! It might even sound arrogant but l think the Yorubas "think" they are "a cut above the rest", within the Nigerian setting. The "Old Western region" was an example of what we think we can do, if Confederacy is selected. 2.) If the above is difficult to achieve (as we stand now), they Yorubas will advocate a "fair share" of what is on the table...which can be seen for our agitation for "Presidency Role", ....and l guess 2-terms on the go, is a starting point. Any objective observer will agree that Yorubas have a way of getting what they want without "warring" or "prostituting their rights". 3.) As a last resort, Yorubas will prefer "complete regional autonomy" but would not go to war to drive it home (under certain conditions). I have said it before that it is very difficult, if not completely impossible for "one major tribe" to decide to break-away, without the support of another major tribe. And Yorubas are not suicidal by nature. That is why l wonder when my Igbo brothers chant "Biafra" and yet "openly declare so much hatred for their Yoruba folks".....who seem their only possible ticket for self determination! Or do you think 'the North' would allow them now, when they did not allow them in 1967? Even, current events point otherwise. Only a "simultaneous break-away" of TWO MAJOR TRIBES can succeed....since the third tribe cannot fight two wars on two front, moreover, access to "open sea" is a major advantage in war time as modern warfare is "Air and Sea", with the "Air-power" depending so much on a "Sea Platform". (that is one problem the Free Syrian Army has now, for getting weapons from outsiders; they are land-locked! ) |
dozymars: DO YOU KNOW THAT NIGERIANS ARE THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE ON EARTH, NIGERIANS ARE ALSO ONE OF THE MOST HOSPITABLE PEOPLE. oraclefemi: WOW i guess we don't bath tooHave you not heard of the "Omo'ale ton'fi owo osi juuwe ile Baba re"? ![]() They are "lost and confused"......being neither 'Nigerian' nor 'White-man'! ![]() They dont see anything good in there own "ORIGINS"......small time, then go say 'Onyebeeke' is racist! ![]() Lastpage! |
inufele22: What is the problem with you kobo kobo people? Dem find oyel at Anambra yet you keep abusing the Yorubas, can't you guys say or do anything without mentioning Yorubas? Abi na Yoruba man swear for una?Actually, having read a few responses here, l was like "Why are these guys so full of anger against the Yoruba race"? Are they still smarting from the "civil war", two generations after? But then, its not just the Yoruba race, they have the same attitude towards the Northerners....and that brings us to the Question: Who do the Igbos like, in this Nigeria? Just themselves only? ![]() Well, they may be cozy-ing to the ND today (we still remember what they tried doing to them during their "attempted forced annexation" of the Mid-West and South-South, during the Biafran war. Like they say, "What the Dog saw and is BARKING, is child's play compared to what the Sheep saw and is just WATCHING silently". Yorubas are generally not the "brash, mouthy types" by their inherent nature. very cool-headed race, calculating and decisive when they need to act. Until the Igbos learn to be less aggressive and use more of "intellect" than "brawn", they will continue to play second-fiddle. I am happy that Oil is discovered in Anambra state, l hope more is discovered in other states as well. It can only mean more jobs, less fuel scarcity and hopefully, they can leverage on the mistakes other "ohyely" tribes have made earlier ![]() As for the "WEST" (Yoruba land), discovery of oil in various states, is no longer news, it is stale news! Anyone that thinks the Yorubas dont have more than enough resources (human and material) to progress rapidly, must be deluding him/herself! Like one Igboman said earlier, "all they have is management level people", in other words, "Yorubas develop the mind".......but then, "every other thing is conceptualized in the mind"! Now you see who is wise? That Yorubas occupy the largest management positions in the land, is no news either, we are not only educated but we are "highly intelligent, beyond the "common sense level" that is not even common. This is not a boast, as some of our other tribes have said same on this and many other thread. @Policewoman: "you said the Igbos are here to stay in Lagos"..., l will respond by saying they are all welcome but you must not forget that "Biafra is your dream" and you cant be in two places at the same time! Are you then confused? You can call the Yorubas all the "bad names" you want simply because you have discovered one Oil Block , it still does not change reality. Now, my "suggestion" to our Igbo brothers: 1.) Its good to be confident but you must draw the line where "Self-Confidence metamorphoses into blind arrogance and Pride". Pride usually goes before a big fall. I pray you dont fall again. 2.) Diplomacy is the to win a war, without firing a bullet: Igbos need to really learn this from grass-root! All too often, the Igbo man is spoiling for a "fight" based on some "innate, genetic aggressiveness"! This has made the Igbo man, an unwanted enemy, wherever they locate (and they wander afar!). You cannot always be aggressive towards your host and expect to be welcomed for long. Use tact, even when you can use "muscle" after all, there are more challenges in the future. In this regard, you have tons to learn from the Yoruba culture. 3.) Charity begins at home: I often wonder why an Igbo man will boats to high heavens, that he developed and owns "LAGOS" while his homeland is a relic of Erosion Gullies and abandoned "white elephant" castles! Is this not foolhardy? Did you learn any lesson from "history", especially the aftermath of the war? The Yorubas also migrate and there are many of them as Bankers in the "East" but hardly would you see them building mansions there, not even in Abuja! well, maybe the Yorubas are actually not on the "same level" when it comes to "foresight", with our other brothers. I pray the day would never come when what l just wrote will be used a "reference". Mind you, the Yorubas are the most welcoming of all Nigerian tribes and your "progress' in all Yoruba land attests to that. In another post, l will like to "explore the possible outcomes of the various scenarios" that may result, in response to issues raised by our Igbo brothers, on how "Lagos" will become "empty", "poor", "failed", e.t.c, if and when, the Igbos decide to "move out" of Lagos. I hope they dont but if they do...... Lastpage! BTW: You would have observed that l did not "pass insult" nor use foul language in my post. It's not a co-incidence. Not everyone may respond except those that can reason above gutter-level. |
We kids of nowadays think you "adults" are just too wicked and selfish! Who told you we cant distinguish between a real BB or Touchscreen and a Chinese, imitation plastic phone? who told you you are the only one entitled to cute phones? Okay, they cost a lot of money and we will probably drool on them or chew them......and so what? What about all our money that people gave us on our naming ceremony, what happened to those cash? When you were organizing naming ceremony and one year birthday for us, you think we dont know why you made it so elaborate? Is it not because you know we would pull in a lot of gifts and money? Is that your money or my money, you thieving parent! My own Mum will dress me up when she is broke and take me on a walk down the street (l was very cute and chatty) and before you could say "ATM", people on the streets were harassing me (such a fine boi, he's got lovely eyes, some even pluck my cheeks and that hurts!) and she was collecting "the returns" and smiling inside her head! The Danfo Driver was probably saying "if no be Govt Uniform, Oooniweere O! i be grandfather of Weere ni!" ![]() Actually, its not just LASTMA guys only, 99% of everybody in one form of "Govt Uniform" or the other, think they are "Gawd" and can behave just as they like. Today, l nearly ran over a VIO (Vehicle Inspection Officer) who jumped in front of my vehicle (luckily, l had cited a traffic light about 300meters ahead and my leg was already "naturally itching" for the break-pedal, so l was able to halt in-tme otherwise, "he is Suya"! I motioned him to my window but he still stood in front of my vehicle, right in the middle of the road. When his folks realize that they cant intimidate me further, they came to my window and l told them: "Even if this one does not value his life, l do value his life. Can you please tell him that he does not need to ATTEMPT SUICIDE just to stop vehicle for checking. All he need do is "motion me to move to the right side of the road, using his hand, from a safe distance or from the road side". His Boss said he needed to jump in front of "a moving vehicle" because "some drivers do not stop" ......and l responded that even if a driver refuses to stop...or if there is a 'risk of flight' by a driver, why not "Mount a camera" across the road such that it reads-off the Registration Numbers of cars (or even their complete picture...ANPR) as they pass and this can be used to "TRACE SUCH VEHICLES" from the Govt's "Auto Reg" database! But they would have none of that! The expression on their faces and demeanor oozed "THUGS!" After checking my "particulars", l was asked to go.... (Not before reminding me that my "OJODU-FRSC-issued authentic" Driver's license was a FAKE!.........since it was not issued by the VIO!! Is their disagreement/power-tussle" my own problem?) ....so l looked him in the eye and said 'You think this is worth dying over'? This is what we get from the "Area-boy" Politics of Tinubu era! I looked around and l can say that around 90% of our "Ward Chairperson's" are Danfo/NURTW Touts! Aboput 70% of our LGA Chairmen are same! So, in a country where the 'educated and enlightened' are ruled by the "illiterate thugs and criminals"....What do you expect? Lastpage! |
And l thought Prof.. Nnaji was far above board? I really feel sad that he fell for this trap.....or was it self-inflicted? So sad, another one bites the dust! Lastpage! |
Now, to those who think the writer is "wasting his time" instead of looking forward, think you missed the point completely! He tried to convey a very thought-provoking message in a very funny/jocular (satire) manner. Its funny, thats why many read and said "Hi five"! Its informative, thats why many said "Thank you"! Its educative and thought provoking, thats why others 'decide to write a full comment" on it! Due to different factors (time, schedule, internet connection, using the phone to write, e.t.c), we cant all respond to the same "stimulus", in the same way! Most use the quickest/easiest....Hi five or even just a smiley! If it were a book, judging by the number of 'commendations' it has received (reviews), he would have made a few millions by now! Now, if you cant "see it as it is", write your own th eway you feel and lets "review it" for you! Its free, so avail of it. ![]() We are waiting! ![]() Lastpage! |
texazzpete: The shameful thing about Nigerians...some of the more verbose folks are the most ignorant. Are you criticizing my post so you can appear as an "imitation of intelligence"? How can you be so daft as to jump to insulting people without engaging your brain first? Why dont you read simple English and just give your opinion/interpretation on the "phone's spec" as was requested instead of all these stewpid, high sounding criticisms, that contributed nada to the request that was made? I have and know a lot of families that have one "network" for immediate family members (we enjoy free calls to ourselves) while l use another one to call family members strictly in Naija (its far cheaper than the first one above) And l do have friends who l want to talk to and are not on any of the two networks mentioned above.....so l keep their Network's SIM handy too! And a lot of people do the same thing so, we HAVE MORE THAN ONE SIM on a single phone, dummy! I guess there are no phones with "class leading specs" in Nigeria as well.....all those Galaxy S3 that guys carry, are carried in America only? Not even in Lagos, right? Anyway, tiny eyes, tiny glasses and "TINY BRAIN" all come as a "contract combo"! Arrow! Lastpage! |

ichidodo: REVENGE KE? WHO NEEDS THAT WHEN I AM GETTIN WEALTHY AT D YIRIBA MAN'S EXPENSE. LET US CUT D CRAP ABOUT INTERMARRIAGE, I RATHER MARRY AN HAUSA WOMAN THAN A YORUBA WOMAN CUXZ THEY BEAR THIS UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE TO OBASANJO,METHINKS ITS D OTHER WAY ROUND YIRIBA PRICKS LUST AFTER IGBO WOMEN,THEY ALWAYS WANT THEIR OWN SHARE OF THE 'BIANCA PHENOMENON' BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT WATER CANNOT FLOW UPSTREAM BUT DOWNSTREAM SO THE PRICKS GET THEIR ASS DUMPED.Is this all you can see in that post? Is all you write here actually "inspired" by hatred and desire for REVENGE.....as l have pointed out? Other "Nigerian tribes" are reading this and they are wondering whether "Ndigbo" would make a "comfortable partner" in future? Take a look in the mirror and evaluate what you see. Well, l will still expect an "experienced and matured Ndigbo" to ponder civilly about my post. Lastpage! BTW: I do not see Igbos as Cannibals or other derogatory term that has been used here by others. In terms of atrocity committed during the war, we are all guilty as the other. Lets tone down the foul language, we are still brothers and this forum is "public" to the whole world. Having said that, We need to separate "real issues" from our "emotions" 'cause emotions dont evaluate issues properly......though l do understand when people respond in kind to some silly racial insults (even amongst the same Citizens! Lets address real issues like: -"How will the Igbo pull it off (Biafra) without the support of another tribe"? Hausas wont support you, who then will, if you hate Yorubas this much? You cant afford to make the same mistake over and over again or dont you realize that you might have won the Biafran war if you carried the Yorubas along from day-1 or at least have them on your side? Dont you realize that the difference between the 'East and North' is more than just religion/religious fanaticism but a "Clash of Cultures"? It aint going away for ever and thats why the "pogrom" keeps repeating itself!-Why did Ojukwu's APGA party not win/sweep the "Eastern states", during his Presidential bid (is this "post-death support" actually real or fake or is it just amongst the neophytes?); The "A.D.", Awolowo's party, sweeped all Yoruba states, mind you). E je ka t'ibi isana ki'esi Oogun! (Let us make predictions and deductions, from current, simple events). Even the Niger Delta have produced a President now (without firing a bullet! and with Yorubas active support, again) while the Igbos are still busy telling us how much they hate us? What lesson is to be learned from this? -How does 'getting wealthy and owning property' in Yoruba land or the environment of the same "Yoruba people" you hate so much, (while leaving your own land barren and erosion consumed!) translate into a "sensible and strategic decision" on self actualization? Are you going to "uproot" those properties eventually or are you going to "find a buyer" for them when you decide to leave (they might just offer you a "twenty Naira note", once again, knowing that you're in no position to bargain, when leaving in a civil war situation! Or do you think Nigeria can break-up peacefully with a hand-shake and even if it does, 'abandoned properties' sounds like a familiar term, to me!) - If you actually intend to stand alone as Biafra, should everything you do not be pointing in such direction or is it just "an internet dream and some noise making effort"? For example, being the "cherished hero" he is, l will rather his legacy be preserved for the "first and best" Biafran currency, when Biafra is eventually actualized, than put Ojukwu's picture on some shyte "Nigerian" Naira note whose value is closer to a Zimbabwean dollar! I think Ojukwu must be very angry in his grave right now except if he also does not believe in his Biafran project ab initio (reminds me he also tried to become the President of a "united Nigeria"! Like the Yorubas will say "Towo omode koba ti te eku-ida, kogbodo bere iku t'opa baba re" (except to ba fe kaput like him as well) Okay, l owe my Igbo brothers a literal translation: Dont start a fight until you are sure of winning it...except you wan receive real beating! It is this "acumen" of thinking first, before starting a fight, which the Yorubas have in abundance, that our Igbo brothers mistakenly interpret as "Cowardice" but then, "thoughtless bravado" even when angry, is more dangerous and can extensively jeopardize one's "bargaining position"........for a long time, as it has done to 'the Biafra project'. Honestly speaking, if l were an Ndigbo, l will publicly flog all of you that have brought Nkemba's name into disrepute, (by starting these thread/arguments).......except if you are some juvenile delinquents who dont know your 'history' and your 'destination'.Lastpage! |
@take dat: am amazed with all this igbo internet trolls new zeal for biafranism.this same ojukwu while alive founded a political party(APGA) and contested for presidency, how many igbos voted for him rather they sold thier souls to PDP.APGA couldnt even win all the south eastern states.it shows that igbos themselves have little or no respect for the man ojukwu.rather than galvanize themselves to have a united front, hypocrites like them would ascribe all their downfall to the yorubas.the earlier you wake up from your hallucinations. onye ego: And all d yorubas in southwest voted for AD Abi? That's why the party is still active todayMaybe you were too young to take note? A.D won ALL the WESTERN (YORUBA)STATES back then. The Yorubas voted for their own. The point he was making is that it appears the "Igbo is its own greatest enemy". If you guys love Ikemba that much, as your hero (and not just some hypocritical and selfish rant), how come you did not put your money where your mouth is, and VOTE FOR HIM and his APGA party? At least, like Awolowo, his party should have won ALL THE STATES in BIAFRA? ![]() Even when Azikwe (The Great Owelle of Onitsha) stood up for election, he lost in the East and eventually has to "sell his support and people" to the same Hausa people that you guys claim, annihilated the Igbos! As far as l have observed, if there is any tribe that works against its own "self-interest", the Igbo should get an Olympic Gold for that! The Hausas can NEVER win an election (or even a war) without the support of at least one other tribe in Nigeria but they've (Shagari) always won every election (before Obasanjo in 1999) because the "Igbo Votes" always get "prostituted" to them, by Igbo leaders (from Zik, to Nzeribe and so on). So, if you hate Yorubas this much.....then support the Hausas as you've always done........but dont come back and whine that they murder your brothers like chicken or that all they can give you is a toothless VeePee. ![]() At least the Yorubas do welcome you in Lagos! Even the Break-away to Biafra will ever be a pipe-dream, until one other "major tribe" supports self-determination as well, simultaneously. (Is it the Hausas that would support you on that? Think again.) So, which way for Ndigbo, in NIGERIA? Only a stupid person will cut-off his nose, just to spite his face. An intelligent and smart Igbo person will know that the Yorubas are still your best bet, in this contraption called Nigeria. WHY? *The North will NEVER endorse an Igbo President (The risks are too high because the Igbos are vengeful at heart and will still ask for their pound of flesh!) *The Igbos can NEVER win a Presidential election without the support of at least one of the two major tribes (Hausa, Yoruba) and l dont see the Hausas voting for an Igbo President any time in the future *Going by reality, the Yorubas still tolerate and inter-marry with Igbos but sadly, the Igbos are still hell-bent on "revenge", for the Biafran war defeat and thus, do not return the "hospitality" to Yorubas. (and you can see it on this thread as well) Again, l have said it over and over again, the Yorubas are not aggressive (like the Igbos) but are neither cowards! They are "a thoughtful and calculating people" in general; in fact so calculating it bothers on the cunning!. *They will never go into any fight they cant win (An Igbo person fights first and then thinks later! No disrespect) *They know what they want, they know how to get it and ALWAYS get it (be it presidency, resource sharing, recognition, e.t.c, just name it) *Are very "self-critical" which is important in any race that wants to evolve and get better! Thats why they hardly agree or display "herd mentality".......compared to Northerners who are very "homogeneous" in thought and action. *Dont blame their woes on others but work cunningly to achieve and better themselves. *Are generally more friendly and accommodating towards others (why the Igbo can flourish in Lagos). *Can be very "decisive" when the need arises. It is for this last reason that the Ndigbo needs to thread with caution. And l ask myself: If truly the Ndigbo are very desirous of "breaking away" from this Yoruba people (to put it as they put it) and they think the Yoruba should be punished for the "#20" episode after the war, How is it or How much sense is in display, that majority of their investments are in the Western Yoruba states, especially Lagos? How would they carry all those houses they are buying and building in Lagos, to Biafra? If l were an Igbo person, l will never own property in lagos (just like l will never own one in the extreme North!) cause l know that "To your tenth", might happen one day! I think the Igbos should play-down their "gra-gra and muscle-flexing" and rather use more of "tact and wisdom", in their quest for self determination, which by the way is not wrong. So far, only one person have shown that capacity on this thread. Lastpage! |
Exactly, l was trying to be "original" and did not want to say what everybody has been saying! I hope that was "original enough"? ![]() "A rose by whatever name it is called, will still smell as sweet". Where is that "like button" sef? @Drunk: make one state sleepless for not less than a week and make a press statement claiming responsibility and the make another state sleepless for yet another week and make another press statement. I bet you, you would be a VIP guest to aso rock and if you care being to, be listed on the billions of dollar amnesty program. Nigeria is now a country that only criminality is a recognized and legal profession and you become the next billionaire.Except that you did not paragraph your work (Just like 1stsupremo!), l think you are trying to tell us something! Its true but it takes a drunk to actually understand how true! I guess l am drunk, cant find the "like button" again! Lastpage! |
I dont have a problem with Mr. Abati doing his job; He is paid to "wash the President's image"......and so far, he has not disappointed himself! Let me end by saying that the President is a simple man but simplicity is not naivety. If simplicity were to be naivety, then the world would not be where it is today because it is simple men like Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Kwame Nkrumah, who have shaped the world that we live in by simplifying what others have complicated. But how can you Just try and play a video of your "master" and that of Lincoln, Martin L. King or Nkrumah at the same time......and see just how different the personalities are! Those men are not just "simple", they are INTELLIGENT, .....abi u wan make l shout? Haaa, Abati, you fall my hand again! Anyway, no be the same Abati wey collect "Abuja Egunje land" from OBJ, to 'wash' off the fuel price increase protest? Leave matter joor. |
(Contd) The funny thing is that some of the most guilty Executive Management staff are those that have worked overseas (in Europe and America) and know you can NEVER treat a staff (not even some illegal job seeker) in this manner and get away with it. They enjoyed being treated as a human-being, with dignity and respect, yet they treat fellow citizens/employees in Nigeria, like animals! *The government must take serious action against these employers who treat their staff like slaves. *Labor laws must be rigorously enforced for all (employer and employees) *The Labor court must make itself more accessible to aggrieved employees (through publicity/enlightenment on employee rights and duties) *The labor court/arbitration body must act and determine labor disputes swiftly and decisively. Government needs to seriously address a situation where a few "executives" steal and rape a company into "financial distress", only for the lower cadre staff to suffer and pay the price. Such Management Executives needs to face the full weigh of the law under 'financial crimes'. Any H.R worth his or her salt should know that your "employees are your greatest asset" and their well-being is the company's well-being. Lastpage! |
(Contd) For the sake of brevity, l will treat two more issues in summary: 2.) Lack of foresight and business acumen: Since it is the Executive Management who are responsible for "policy formation and implementation", the success or failure of the company is their decision. They make decisions on what to produce, where to invest company's funds and energy, e.t.c. The junior cadre just follows orders, as given. Thus, when company's dont succeed, its the "controllers and managers" at Executive level, that needs to be sacked!. A big failure of "H.R management in Nigeria" is to pass the blame on the junior staff and retrench them, leaving the "high-earning, Management dead woods" in place! of course, the little that is saved from such retrenchment exercise is soon fretted away and the exercise is repeated again and again. 3.) Failure of regulatory supervision and oversight: By far the worst undoing of the Nigerian employment atmosphere, Executive management has taken advantage of the "dangerous unemployment" situation in the country, to perpetuate heinous evil on their lower level staff and because of the failure or non-existence of "regulatory oversight", these inept "business Managers and Directors" get away with murder. Some use all forms of intimidation of junior level workers, to cover-up or at least, obscure their own failures. Go to any office and you will notice that it is the most unproductive and unintelligent "Boss" that harasses the junior ones in the company! Its nothing more than "a defensive mechanism", so as to appear relevant. If "labor laws" where to be enforced in Nigeria, some of these "Executive Managements" would be in jail right now. From those who sexually molest their staff, to those who humiliate their staff; Law suits will abound for "unjust sackings, harassment, intimidation, and so on". But we have a corrupt and comatose judicial system where "justice is for the highest bidder" otherwise, it should be almost free to go to a labor court and judgement is such disputes should be very swift...as against taking donkey years so as to frustrate the aggrieved staff. So, before you start blaming someone for not dumping a "hypertensive job" ASAP or for not starting their own business, l urge you to pause and look at our "operating environment". To be continued. Lastpage! |
(Contd) Again, we need to look at the "lifestyle" of these organizations and what makes them so desperate for cheap funds, that they are willing to subject "lower cadre staff" to all sort of humiliation and pressure. 1) Waste of company's resources through unbridled corruption: I often wonder why 'Companies Executives' of those days (the 70's) did not send our fathers and mothers, "prostituting for target"? Yet they did good business and survived with a healthy balance sheet! The current generation of "Executive Management" are so corrupt to the point that they need a steady in-flow of "cheap funds" just to keep the company afloat...but the problem is that such cheap funds are getting more difficult to come by. These guys waste company funds to buy "assorted vehicles for themselves" and change it on a yearly basis! Imagine when you tell the staff at the year-end meeting that the company is "not making profit" and two weeks after (in January of the new year) you buy cars/Jeeps worth 15millionNaira for each "Management staff" (despite still having the one you bought for them, less than twelve months ago?). What is the sense in such frivolity? The same "executive management" without any form of oversight, appropriates ridiculous amounts to themselves as "LOANS"( so huge they can never repay it in full!), grant themselves ridiculous "BONUS" (even when the company is not making profit), get jamboree travel allowances, e.t.c In short, the "executive management eats the company dry" but as expected, such company will sooner run into financial trouble. They then start to threaten "junior ranks" who never benefited from these corrupt jamboree, with stewpid and unrealistic targets, which if not met, results in their "outright" sack (even without paying them for redundancy!). WHY SHOULD THESE HAPPEN, can these ever happen in any civilized society? Is it not the "Executive's job, to source for fund while the junior ranks do the routine work? How come its the junior cadre that gets sacked for the financial recklessness of the Directors and Executive Management who are responsible for "policy formation and implementation"? Will continue below. Lastpage! |
