^^^^^^^ U dey "SERUU-BAAWON" too much! ![]() |
@DaddyO But I'm not surprised at the anti Ribadu sentiments. In a society where a majority are severly brainwashed, mentaly diminished, or outright currupt, rational reasoning cannot be commonplace.GBAM! Thats the word jooo Who will the flies support, if not the man with a SORE? |
@Kufreabasi. What you "owe" your wife and your in-laws is the dowry and the traditional wedding/introduction of families. Whether you want to do Registry wedding, after party or anything that follows, is a choice between you and your wife! She has become your wife the moment you paid dowry on her (with the accompanying 64 tubers of Yam, Bitter Cola, One fine He-Goat with long "jeemuu", Bag of salt, e.t.c If l were you, l will arrange a date with my wife, take a friend along as witness (and she takes her friend along too) and the four of us head straight to the Registry, right from the airport sef At that point, "it is settled".Do your thing and get on with life. If they want anything in future, it will be at your convenience. Of course, no need saying that your wife's "position" on this issues matters as you never can say who is stoking the fire from behind (You know women and "party-party" )Just my Ten cents. |
@JustCash Those saying that we should learn from Ghana are indeed Naive and ignorant about Soccer trends. What do we have to learn from Ghana? Nonsense! When they were down and we were up did they learn anything from us? We need to put our house in order, and we dnt need to learn nada from Ghana to do it.Easy my man, we are not naive in any way! When we were winning, sometime between 1995 (The Rashidi Yekini Era!) and early 2002, Ghana learnt a lot from us. For example, they learnt "long preparation". They learnt that when it comes to the "Fatherland", money does not count, you put your heart and soul into it; and thats what we saw yesterday. They learnt that "Only when a team works together with a single objective, that team will go places" They learnt that a football federation that thinks about itself first, can never produce a winning team They also learnt among many other things, that when you employ "monkeys" in your NFF, your team will be lunging from pillar to post ![]() Having learnt a lot from Nigeria, they are putting it into practice and what matters, THE RESULT, is there for all to see. unfortunately, like Fela Anikulapo Kuti have said, "Teacher dont teach me nonsense". ![]() The Teacher has forgotten its own teachings! Maaa-Abasi?! ![]() |
@Ajadudu. Thanks for that link. It was really "eye-opening" but largely infantile ![]() The discussion there were "very dry" and l guess that shows the caliber of peeps therein. On the other hand, one thing we cannot do is GENERALIZE. Just as we have "bile-ridden" peeps on that site (Ghanaweb) so do we have on our side too but largely, they are in the minority! Those who say "Ignorance is a disease" must be clairvoyant! Such "ignorant minority" feed on their own ignorance and l know Nigerians dont fall for such tantrums so, lets just "fashee" that side. Nuff said, Go-Ghana, Go Super Eagles (at least, we were not "fried" as they predicted ) |
@Dickson Etuhu (Super Eagles player) Nigeria midfielder Dickson Etuhu has revealed his frustration at a lack of high-altitude training prior to their 1-0 defeat by Argentina on Saturday.I also observed that Etuhu in particular was so tired and uninspiring in that game! But l will advise him to desist from running his mouth during a competition, he should rather "save his energy" for the actual job he is paid to do Is it not the same ball he was fuming about that the Argentines used or did they bring their own 'special ball'? Is it not the same ball that the Germans used and scored FOUR goals? Even in the Premier League, Etuhu was, most of the time, what l will call "all muscle and no brain" ![]() We dont need him becoming a "second coach" to the team. Does he mean that all the "coaching" he has received at his club in England are of no-use to him, except the one he had with LagerBeer, in just a few days? C'mmon, find a better excuse for non-performance! Again, once you have a player trying to "suck-up" to a coach by disparaging the former coach, you should "BEWARE"! Even saying "nobody expects them to beat Argentina" is enough reason to drop the loud-mouth! That Argentina of yesterday was an under-performing one (they even almost did not qualify until the last minute!) Tell me if the Ghana or Serbia of today or even S/Africa will not beat that particular Argentina? Did Ghana spend one month on Mount Kilimanjaro before performing brilliantly today? Etuhu must be "star-struck". I can vouch that a "complete home-based" team (or Siasia's under 21 team) will not be complaining about altitude or color of the ball Anyone with a phone-line to Etuhu should please advice him to "play ball" and stop wagging ![]() I am fed up with nonsensical excuses. @Akwasi and base-144. I dont think its really "hatred" per say, l would rather call it "unhealthy rivalry". Judging by the number of Nigerians plying their trade and leaving in Ghana today, the relationship cant be that of hate. Rivalry in itself, like "competition", is not bad once it is done in a mature and healthy manner. U beat us today, we beat you tomorrow and we both continue to improve ![]() *We meet at the semi-final and guess what, Nigeria wins by 3-0* ![]() |
@Akwasi. Please dont let "some" people drag you into that useless argument of comparisons. The sky is big enough for ALL Birds (that have wings), to fly. I am Nigerian and l can boldly say l am impressed by Ghana's performance. Such performance should be an inspiration to other African teams. While the game was going on, l was constantly reviewing Nigeria's performance yesterday, with Ghana's own. A few difference came up: 1.)The Ghananian players ran 100meters for the whole 90minutes! On the other hand, you can see Nigerian players "strolling around the field" even when our team was under pressure (if you doubt this, pls review the clip of our match again) 2.) It seems the "energy levels and commitment" of the Ghananian players was way above par. They seem hungry, determined and are ready to challenge the Serbians 50/50, for every blade of grass on that field. On the other hand, Nigerian players, and this would not be the first time, are lackadaisical, sluggish, looked and acted tired and at times, distracted on the field of play. 3.)I also noticed that the Referee was less than partial, even though Ghana won!. The officiating was biased in favor of Serbia (every contact was a foul against Ghana) and l always wonder why it must be a "whitey" that should be officiating a match between African Vs. European team? Why not get someone from China to officiate? 4.) It also caught my attention when the SKYY commentator was concluding the commentary and he said: "This is a big win for Ghana's foreign coach, the first win by an African country and they were coached by a foreigner"! examine that indictment/insult (maybe well deserved) of our sensibilities? Even if we must loose, cant we loose honorably? And if we must win, must we not win with our honor and integrity intact? What stops we African countries from training our own coaches so that Europeans would hire them? How much does it cost to apprentice a Siasia with Arsene Wenger or Sir Alex or Jose Maurinho, compared to what is spent o jamboree to S/Africa by 68 Nigerian senators? Finally, l say a big congrats to Ghana. On a general note, there is no need to beef or ridicule Ghana. We can learn from them after all, they did learn from us, some years back? As they say, Pride goes before a fall. Until we get our acts together, we need to temper down this "Giant of Africa" attitude of ours. Lets put our money where our mouth is! If we must boast, then let our actions, development, security, infrastructure, organization, zero-tolerance for corruption, respect among international community, success in education, sports and nation management, speak for us. Empty vessels they say, makes the most noise. I know we are a very proud people and we should be; with all the blessings God deposited amongst us! But we need to start acting like a blessed nation so much so that God himself will be proud of us! Imagine if it was a small country like Ireland or Japan or Switzerland to mention a few, that are blessed with just 50% of our natural resources and stable geological landscape? Nigerians, "think, please think and rethink our lost glory"! Remember the days of "Ghana must go"? Remember the days of 75Kobo = 1 GBP! I pray we are not the prodigal son of this world. Truth hurts, a lot! |
@Kobojunkie, The use of the term "relative" in my argument is NOT about the "legality/illegality of the actions taken". It is about the "amount" paid!. That is, amount paid, relative to one-another, one person pays a lot more. For further clarification, l used the example of insurance. Both of them pay insurance. Both of them pay an amount which is legal and acceptable to their insurance company BUT when we compare the amount paid, for the same car-engine capacity, for the same financial period (one year), One person pays 700GBP (approx #60,000) while another one pays #5,000. That is the relativity l am referring to. One person pays a higher bill, relative to the other, for the same "service" (insurance). I am not comparing illegality to legality, as you think. I also made an allusion to the fact that "it is easier for people to "AVOID" paying certain fees in Nigeria which they would find impossible to avoid in the U.K, for example. People in U.K complain about some of this taxes and would gladly avoid them too, if they can get away with doing so! So its not as if those in U.K are a better breed of humans than those in Nigeria (same reason we have those parking attendants sticking fines on your windshield wiper ), just that the "environment" in Nigeria is yet to mature to properly enforce rules as required.I hope l have been able to explain myself. |
@Liger I think I should start by correcting the terms we use, There is nothing like "Tradition Marriage and Court Marriage" The correct thing is Statutory Marriage (or Marriage under the Act) and Customary Marriage. You've done a very good job up there! It was incisive. One line l will like to clarify/take issue with is the part l emphasized in 'red' color. If l correctly understand, "Polygamy" is when one person is married to more than "one spouse" concurrently (Be it man or woman though its more common among men)? Question l will like you to clarify is "How does a statutory marriage (Registry Wedding) protect a woman (most especially) against polygamy as defined above? I do understand "Bigamy", which is punishable by 5yrs imprisonment, to be when one spouse deceives and pretend to be a 'Bachelor/Spinster', i.e. unmarried and then engages in another marriage. The legal offense in Bigamy is "lying to be single, when you are married and contracting another marriage as a bachelor/spinster, under such guise. A lot of people confuse Polygamy and Bigamy Polygamy is a culture, just like monogamy (whether true monogamy or serial monogamy as practiced in the West) while Bigamy is a statutory prohibition. By my own understanding, whether you're married according to "Native law & Custom" or in a "Registry/Statutory marriage", you're still governed by the Nigerian constitution and l am yet to see any "section" or any Act which prohibits Polygamy in that constitution (Now, l stand to be corrected by anyone who can state the relevant section so l can be more informed) AS LONG AS THAT MARRIAGE WAS CONSUMMATED UNDER NIGERIAN LAW, IN NIGERIA. I have seen the statutory provisions against bigamy but NOT against polygamy! Caveat: this is not an inducement or encouragement to would-be polygamist, l am only doing this as an academic exercise so, dont get frothing in the mouth for nothing! ![]() |
@Kobojunkie. I am speaking in "relative terms". generally speaking, you cannot evade paying for the amount of electricity units you use overseas but in Naija, using clandestine means like "tapping from another street", loading the A.C. direct from the Nepa Pole (bypassing the Meter!) e.t.c, still makes it possible for people to evade the actual amount they should have paid. tell me, if as a first time driver, with "learner Sign" boldly emblazoned on your windscreen, How much would you be insured for, to drive a car? That same driver will get a Third Party insurance for #5,000 in Naija, his mates in U.K will probably pay no less that 700 GBP, right? How many people pay for MOT/NCT in Naija, over here if you fail to pay, your car (even if its the latest Bugatti) will be "crushed" on sight, abi na lie? In Naija, worst case is to dash LASTMA or "Ekee" some #5,000 and you get a nice "Safe journey saah" to go along with your freedom ![]() There are still places in Nigeria where they dont pay a dime for electricity (as l know, some parts of the N.D.) and somewhere in the Northern states! Even the Queen pays for electricity in U.K! In summary, Abroad is all about paying Bills; everything is "Pay-as-You-Go" ![]() Due to our level of infrastructure and development, those who are determined to evade their Bills will still do so in Naija, like evading T.V tax. How many people pay that in Naija? But of course, you get what you pay for or even less! If "Abroad Nepa" brings current that destroys my equipment, l will sue them and they will replace it! In Naija, you'd be better-off unplugging your 'Electronics' before Nepa returns power or else, you will curse your "Goodluck Jonathan" for employing a monkey at Ijora Switch station ![]() Enjoy your day. |
I thought it is called "Registry Wedding"? Is the Registry a Court? Why do you guys keep saying "court marriage" instead of "Registry Wedding"? Anyway, women are too smart to allow you do only traditional wedding for them, they know that you cant decide to "change gear" in a few years time when your money don arrive! ![]() By the way, can "INTELLIGENT PEEPS ONLY", explain the relationship between "Polygamy and Bigamy'? What oes Nigerian constitution say about marrying more than one wife? I am planning to add another "Opeke" to my household ![]() My first wife is still a darling 2me, l am just trying to relieve her of all the hassles of keeping a household and since she detests house-girls (and l dont think it is fair to make another human-being a house-slave), l am thinking 'a properly married', "additional wife" will do both of us a lot of good. ![]() BTW: We are legally married o! |
Since l am sure they would have "unprotected Sex" with those Ashawo in S.A, l would suggest we organize HIV-infected babes and set them up for an "all night action"? slowly and eventually they would kick a bucket ![]() Or may be we should organize "Abacha's Apple" for the gaals to give our Senators after a good "blow-job" ![]() |
“We have the Almighty God to thank for this. What would we have been saying? God is great and it is important that we always give Him thanks anytime things like this happen,” said Lulu Abdullahi. We would have "organized" another faulty airplane and asked the remaining "Awoof Senators" to embark on the second leg on that journey! ![]() And if anyone asks us the same question after the second mishap, we would have said "Good riddance to bad rubbish"! Walahi!! ![]() |
@stuffs4me Ribadu is just some hypocritical arogant poo, I want him to answer why he decided to stow away $15million until when it was too hot for him to keep. He still has not explained why it was his family and friends that bought the properties of tafa balogun and so many other properties at undervalued pricesWhile it is very easy to "trumpet what other say", when it becomes an allegation, the honorable thing to do, if the one making the allegation has any iota of honor, is to SHOW OR PUT FORWARD EVIDENCE/PROOF. Fro example, what does it take the above person to: 1.)Mention the name of Ribadu's family member that bought Tafa's house, location of the house, Price, e.t.c. (facts and figures that would assist others to prosecute him) 2.)Or name any of Ribadu's family member that bought any of those properties and THE PRICE they bought it? Lets not be too "brain-lazy" in making accusations. You could be right BUT if you expect us to "take your word" for it, just because you said so, (l hate to use such foul language as l have in my head right now, on anyone )Its only in Nigeria, where the court take eternity to give a ridiculous judgment, that you can accuse someone (slander and defamation of character) without proof and still get away with it. We need to sit up and extricate ourselves form all these "idle talk" despite the fact that "an idle mind has become the Devil's workshop"! SHOW PROOF OR COP UP. |
My gift to ENYEAMA for being man-of-the-match. He must exhaust "10 Packs" everyday till the end of the World Cup!
|
My gift to ENYEAMA ofr being man-of-the-match. He must exhaust "10 Packs" everyday till the end of the World Cup! |
I feel shocked at those who are claiming LageerBeer did a wonderful Job! The reasons we are patting ourselves on the back right now are: 1.)Enyeama was Superb in goal; he reduced the scores from 7-O, to 1-0 (Thats not due to lagerbeer!) 2.)The Argies, like they struggled to qualify under Maradona, are a shadow of themselves, in the National Team jersey! 3.) When Argies play Korea, watch the scoreline; When the Koreans play Naija, watch the scoreline You can praise LagerBeer afterwards! Judging on the Argie performance today, this is a game Nigeria could have won easily (I bet Siasia's under-age team would have beaten this Argies today) LagerBeer is no better that Bertie Voghts or Amodu, its only that "this is a world Cup game, not ACN competition naaah! Inferiority Complex no go kill my Naija Bruvdas ![]() |
In Summary: ARGENTINA *Argentina are not the "dreaded side" that we think they are! *Messi had so many chances (about seven in all, at least in two cases, he had only the Keeper (Enyeama) to beat but he scoffed the chances. *If l should rate his performance today, he was just AVERAGE, and to hink he is the World's Best footballer? Argentina was weak in the defense line but Nigeria failed to exploit their Right and Left full back's weakness. NIEGRIA. *Enyeama was fantastic. His performance today could earn him a call-up to Real Madrid or Barccelona. Any world-class team would be proud to have Enyeama within its goal post. *Yakubu scoffed a few chances, l guess "Age" cannot be cheated! Age has caught up with him. He, like most of his team mates, especially Etuhu, Odia, looked tired just 30mins into the game. *Nigerian forward-line players lacked imagination and l begin to wonder what input, if anything at all, Mr. LagerBeer has contributed for his colossal Summer Holiday Pay? *If we had a good forward line, we could have easily beaten Argentina today. *We are very poor in marking or tackling, when it cones to "set-paces" like corner kicks! *All Nigeria's corner kicks were absolute waste. Most went from right corner and dropped-down at the left corner! Maybe that was a "new-style", courtesy of Coach LagerBeer ![]() In all, Argentina once again confirmed that when it comes to the National tean, they are not that good but individually at club level, each player except that one that plays for Newcastle (Left full Back), are splendid. Nigeria's performance lacked purpose, imagination and precision. Most passes we made went to the opposing player. We looked so tired and fagged-out you will wonder whether the players had a party over-night. It was sheer luck that we lost 1-0, the score line could have been something like 7-1 if Messi and Higuain were on target as expected. We can still qualify if we win the next two games and that can only happen if our players "get more energy from somewhere/something like a "Nuclear reactor" |
@buzugee only 50 robbers ? let me tell you about john brown. this guy and about 10 of his boys took on a whole town in the 1800s trying to abolish slavery. this is his saying. GIVE ME JUST A FEW GOOD MEN and i can take on a whole army. let me tell you something dude, no one knows your house better than you. so long as you are in your house and you have enough ammunition to wipe out an entire army ? you will easily do it. first things first you need a retreat and solace point. a bunker. also you must plan your house in such a way that the point of entry is only one spot. ok so that will factor into the kind of house i will get. i need all the fifty robbers to try to get at me through the same entry point. lets see if all 50 of them make itAbout two decades ago, there was this man who owns "Apata School" in Surulere, Lagos (will not mention his name as a sign of respect to him (R.I.P)) and used to talk the way you're talking now ![]() He sounds off and actually uses his guns to scare armed robbers in his area. The day the robbers decided his time was up, they sent him a letter stating the day they will come for him!. They announced their arrival with a few rounds and our local "John Wayne" took them on till he ran out of bullets! (Dont ask me about whether the Police responded quickly or suddenly developed hearing problems). The short of the story is that he was "executed" right there! Question l asked myself is: Is killing a few armed robbers worth my life? Not even 50,000 of those scumbags is worth my left foot, less my life ![]() So, if after all your 'battles and challenges' in life, you think killing a few drugged-losers is a fair exchange, your children will have a few questions to ask your "deadi-bodii" ![]() BTW: Can l ask what happened to that your John Browne after the gun battle? ![]() *shakes head and knocks down a can of Guinness* (life is sweet) |
Aaaah, l am a late-comer to this thread and reading the 25 or so pages was a pain in da eyes! Anyway, on one hand, l think the "topic" is uncalled-for. It is divisive and we should avoid going that route. Having said that, l think it is impossible to notice some level of acrimony between the "generality" of Diasporeans and their folks still in naija (You can notice it but you dont necessarily have to speak about it, some kind of fragile friendship!) I cant call it "jealousy" really. I perceive it as a kind of "superiority complex battle" (albeit a very unnecessary one). Knowing we Nigerians and our penchant to "sound-off", pose and "oppress" as it is put, it is only natural that there would be friction between the few "have-muchs" and the "struggling majority". I still remember, a few months ago when Mrs Dora Akinyilu, labeled "Nigerians in Diaspora as enemy of the nation"! So, the "beef" between the 'home-brews and the foreign ones' did not just start, its been there but we all "play by the rules": Keep quiet about it! If you've ever witnessed the "bashing" given to an unsuccessful Diasporean, by his successful counterpart at home (when he finally decides to go home or gets kicked out of 'abroad') then, you will be tempted to conclude that 'it makes "a good laugh" to see a failed "journey-just-come' ![]() Have you ever heard comments like "even those of us here in Nigeria are better than them"? (and l have seen a few of similar comments on this thread also!), "if they know that 'Abroad' does not pay them, why dont they just come home"? "is it by force to live abroad after all, Nigeria is far better"! e.t.c Another derogatory term for "abroad elderly" is "Egbon" or "Baba London" e.t.c" Its actually a polite insult.God help you if after some years of sojourn abroad, you went home and have to depend on your Nigerian folks for anything, they will teach you a lesson. The only way you will 'escape' is if you are willing to part with loads of money, (they also want to share in the "booty" from this abroad man! ).If you are silly enough to go and live with a relative when you travel home and you're unlucky enough that they are not the very well-to-do, you will have to pay ALL their bills for as long as you are there (feeding, generator fueling, hospital bills, children school fees and about any other "pending financial problem' they have!) ![]() Now, this does not apply to everyone, it might even be in the minority. So, in my own opinion, "the sky is big enough for all birds to fly", no need to compare or beef each other. if you live in Nigeria, it has its own inherent advantages (like the superb weather and entertaining Christmas period festivities) and disadvantages too (like power supply and insecurity). If you live abroad, it has its own inbuilt advantages (regular power supply, peace of mind and working infrastructures) and its own disadvantages (lousy weather, over-regulation, "bad moral influence" on your kids (if care is not taken), bill, bill and more bills ).So, whichever/wherever you chose to live or find yourself, you should be content with it. No one can eat their cake and have it. Give God glory and thank Him for being alive, hale and hearty after all, STOP making comparisons as it will only brew discord. We should be complementing each other rather than this unhealthy competition. Nuff said. |
This is how it looks. Its in its "case" in the other pix. Its made of silicone material and that makes it very soft and it only hooks to just the outer part of your nose. Its convenient l would say. Does anyone know its name?
|
@blank I cant get the name of the small silicone item. I took it out of its container to ease space in my purse (l carry one around should l have the need to sleep-over outside my home ![]() I will take its picture and post it here for all to see maybe someone can recollect the name. It looks so easy and so cheap that l wonder why nobody ever taught about it all these while. And it works! I will also see if l can still get one or two to buy, wouldn't mind giving it out as its not expensive and if it works for you also, you can dash one or two people also. |
What is "indecent" IS INDECENT! Question then is "how do we define what is indecent" Like others have observed, it could depend on the environment you find yourself (try and tell a lady in a cold place like Russia to wear a 'decent' skirt in winter! ). It could also depend on the weather, culture/tradition (dont the Scottish MEN traditional wear skirts? In Nigeria, you will be probably be called a Queer if a man wears skirt in daylight! )Generally, l will be happy if we can reach a common ground while taking the sensibilities of others into consideration (Your right ends were the rights of others begin) Again, may we be reminded that even Christ himself wore something "beautiful", not rags, as his garment was "fought over", even by his captors! Again, God said he looks at "the heart of man" while man looks at the outside: This tells us that what we "do" is more important to God than what we wear! By the way, a good Christian (or person) would avoid dressing in a way that would make another person to "fall into sin (like a brother who develops a huge 'hard-on' when he sees sisters G-Strings peeping out of her backside, from the "low-waist, tight-pants" she wore to church). If we put all these into perspective, l can only reasonably conclude that: We should be able to wear ANYTHING as long as we can ensure that we dress in a moderate and not too provocative way! No exposing of boobs, backside or pant-line or the curves of the backside. For men, no wearing of skimpy tops to show your muscles (or dont you know that women to get excited like men?), no baring of chest hairs or excessively tight trousers that show "your bulgy snake" ![]() Laws on dressing need not be forced on anyone, we should just decide ourselves to dress in a manner that shows respect for ourselves, our fellows and God. Infact, there are far more important anomalies in our lives that "dressing ranks very low amongst our problems. BTW: Getting aroused in first in the mind, it is secondary about what you see with your eyes since just mere thought and forming of a virtual image can even arouse stronger otherwise, how come you bathe your daughter (if you're a man) or your son (if you're a woman) and you dont get aroused? Again, l ask: how come a woman get aroused when a man plays or sucks her breast but never gets aroused when their male child does the same thing? ITS ALL IN THE MIND.***Walahi, l have never put that any booby in my mouth since my Mum weaned me off breast-feeding!*** |
First, ANY MODEM can be made UNIVERSAL by "unlocking it". Modem Unlocking is free and many people have offered to assist in unlocking the Dongle for free and YOU can do it yourself if you download the software and connect your dongle to your USB port. Thats by-the-way sha. @The Builder I have three etisalat cards for my three offices. I can tell you that the link is very unstable and speed outrageously frsustrating. At a time I allowed my staff to load only one.I feel you bro. Its really pathetic and frustrating when you pay for something and you dont even get what you paid for! We should not be struggling on who provides better service among these operators in Nigeria, THEY ARE ALL FRAUDS, believe me! Like someone has just shown above, see how they downgraded the service from 10K/month (24/7) to 10K/month (3G!); and what happened? NOTHING Someone else has also reminded us that it costs "nothing extra" for these operators to give Nigerians better service at a cheaper price and l know this is true; BUT THEY WONT! ![]() Question is: WHY? I need not mention that they cant do all these their nonsense in some African countries like S/Africa, Ghana or any of the North African countries but in Nigeria, anything goes! QUESTION AGAIN IS: WHY? For example, you will get a 3G broadband, min 3MB download speed anywhere in Europe for about 20Euros/month (24/7). That equates to just less that #4,000! So why should Nigerians pay #10,000 and cant get just that same thing? (even after paying two-and-half times over!) In U.S, its even cheaper, Sprint or Verizon will do you unlimited B/band, 24/7 @5MB download for about $20/month = #3,000. But in Nigeria, they tell us it is impossible! The truth is two-fold 1.) Despite the fact that it will cost nothing more, in practical terms (since economics of large-scale and spread due to our huge population, will nil-out any marginal cost), to implement a system that would give Nigerians such bandwidth as experienced in Europe/U.S for 40.Euros/ $50/month (twice the cost, factoring-in our poorer infrastructures like power and roads). But ask me, since "everyone" has recognized Nigeria as the country where you can steal the people dry, who would not 'gather free money", if it is available for the taking? If America allows it, "Verizon" will like to charge $100/month for the same thing they charge $20 for BUT it is some people's job/responsibility to see that it doesn't happen They are called REGULATORS In a situation where the Nigerian Regulators collude with those they are supposed to regulate, what you have now in Nigeria is the result. Except those that cant see it, the truth is that they bribe our regulators to look the other way while making life a hell for us. Same thing happens when a Policeman "loans out a gun" bought with tax-payers money, to armed robbers or collude with thieves by giving out security info or refusing to respond to distress calls on time, so that the armed robbery can succeed! Its our way of life now! ![]() So, we are our own greatest enemy! Before you start blaming MTN or GLO or Etisalat or Zain, ask yourself: why is it possible here and not elsewhere? 2.) Second point: While l understand that "abject poverty" can make a man loose his soul, endure inhuman degradation and do what they would not "normally do", in a normal circumstances. Having said that, when l hear my brothers arguing that "MTN is the best or Zain is better than Glo or if you're smart, you will go for Etisalat", l weep internally and for my brothers. I can understand those who have "entrenched interest", like Salesmen, staff (under a hidden identity), e.t.c but l cant understand "an abused customer" who does not even know that he is being oppressed, when compared to what these same companies do in other countries! Instead of a public outcry, what we see most of the time is a public argument ! Something like "in the country of the blind, where the one-eyed becomes a king! Instead of protesting that we are being treated like second-class humans in our country (the way slaves are treated in those days), that we are being ripped-off in our own country, especially by foreigners, we are the same ones that spring-up to defend those that loot us dry, from bad leaders to exploitative factories operated by these foreigners, especially from a particular part of Asia/Middle East. Instead of boycotting their services, even if it is just for one week (l am not even asking for a hunger strike or a month-long sit-out as some would do in advance countries!), just to show that we know the evil they are meting-out to us, even if we seems powerless because our govt officials have sold us out! HEAVEN HELPS THOSE WHO HELPS THEMSELVES. This companies/operators know they are cheating Nigerians. Just like our looting politicians, they believe WE CANT DO "JERK" Mobile phone and internet is good and useful but before it came, we survived naaah? Yes, we did so, if we boycott their service for just one week (and they will not only loose BILLIONS of Naira,) they will most importantly, get the message: WE ARE NOT THE FOOLS YOU TAKE US FOR! Really, you may not know what percentage of your "productivity" you're loosing by the acts of these ingrates called "Telephony operators" until you have the opportunity to see how they treat others outside our country and you would wonder! In all, it is sad to watch these operators toy with and exploit the life out of our people and its even worse to observe the way we are taking it! Surely, we must be the "naturally happiest" people on earth otherwise, WHO ELSE CAN TAKE THIS S*H*I*T from the operators? Just my 10cent. |
Funny thing is that the "culprit" does not even know that he/she snores and would sometimes 'swear' to high heavens they dont ![]() Like some peeps, l am a very light sleeper and the slightest sound will wake me up and God help me, l may never sleep again after that, for the night. My 'sweetee' does not snore when we were courting and early marriage (sleeps light too) but the birth of our first child scattered all the "fancy" for us! ![]() I can confirm that its that my lovely son that made 'Ma' to start snoring (and he complains of the snoring at times! Anyway, there was a time l fell ill and was operated on. On discharge, l slept and snored so loud it woke me up! Yes, l heard it in my sleep! ![]() A few days later, my wifey said l should try not to snore and l said l would try but l guess my system wasn't in good shape yet and she complains again so l said "nna, no be only me dey snore now, u sef u be olympics champion! ![]() As expected, she said "lai-lai, l dont snore! ![]() To cut long story short, l stopped snoring after about two months! I dont think that was right, shouldn't have done it but it has also helped us to seek ways of assisting ourselves. There is this small, silicone, C-shaped rubber that was patented in U.K. I bought it after reading the reviews and u just stick it into the two holes (nostrils) and thats it! First, its made of silicone, very soft that you would hardly notice its there Second, the ends are rounded and there is no risk of injury or discomfort at all Thirdly, due to its C-shaped (like the nose-rings some use for fashion), u just need to stick it in when it time to really say good bye to your worldly worries and really have a nice sleep. Its helped so much that l hardly hear any snore in my house and l keep two extras for anyone that l encounter, who snores and wont let me sleep (Sharrap, l am referring to family members/friends, such a 'duurrtee' mind you have )Best of all, its so cheap l agree that the "most wonderful things in life are free"! (less than 5Pound, 5Dollars or 5Euros!) So, for those of you up there complaining about snoring, go get one for your spouse/friend and stop complaining BTW: Dont ever argue when told you snore, you actually wont know cos u do it only when u'r completely fagged-out and fast asleep. I guess thats what child-birth does to women at times? Sorry, my sisters, its one of those things . And anyone can start snoring at any time, even YOU! |
@Ode remo was at abeokuta last yr, when thugs/govt. officials stopped my vehicle in pursuance of Environmental TAX.Your xperience reminds me of how inept, greedy and unGodly, our "rulers" are; Imagine, once they make a trip to Europe/USA and observe that the govt is collecting some form of tax, not minding why the money is being collected, what it is being used for or the kind of benefit the citizens are already getting from such tax amount, these scumbags like OGD simply rush home to come and implement the same taxation But with the sole aim of having more funds to steal while making life more difficult for the people who gain virtually nothing from their rascal government! Abroad, once you have your Insurance, Road tax and NCT/MOT, you can drive your car anywhere in the whole country (licensed driver) but in Nigeria, Lagos will charge you for MOT (even with all those articulated lorries splitting into two halves, on motion and Danfo buses flying into the ocean or passersby, from failed breaks/ uncoupled wheels!), Ibadan will charge you separately, policemen will waylay you on the express road in Anambra, for their own road tax and the list is endless! People in elective offices in Nigeria are just wicked, devil incarnates. No wonder they would do anything to ensure that citizens vote dont count! Imagine the National Legislators rejecting "Option A4" voting system because it prevents them form rigging, like we had during Abiola's election! ![]() |
SIMPLE: If he floats the Bond and gets the loan, Gbenga Daniel himself must be made to sign an "Undertaking of Guarantee" for the money. He must pay the money back by himself (since he would probably be looting most of it!) else; His Assets should be seized and he should be behind bars till he can refund the money. No Guv'nor should mortgage the financial future of a state, for the nest generation. bloody "last minute" rogue |
@Ishmael What is the difference between fowl and guinea fowl? all of them na fowl oh, hope you know that??the first one is an ordinary fowl, like the one in my backyard! The second one is obviously a native of Guinnea-Bissau and is imported from there thus, it qualifies to be called IMPORTED! ![]() or would you exchange an imported Spare-part for a local one made at Oshodi? ![]() |
^^^^^ Those are the class of people insulting the lady, like they are better in anyway. Are you one of them? Even if you must denigrate someone, it should be someone you are better than, and not about her backside (read those awful comments) Where is the sense of decency? |
Really funny On one hand, we have a young lady, working really hard and making the dough. Through heard work, she's SET FOR LIFE, living the good life but "Monkey no-fine, im bobo like am" On the other hand, idle people are here complaining about her "ugliness and backside" like its what puts butter on their bread? ![]() Is it idleness, lack of inventiveness or just the Nigerian penchant for gossip and mental-laziness BTW: I am imagining if her attention was drawn to this thread, what would she blot out? It could sound something like: "l am not bothered if such comments are coming from those ******** that ain't even intelligent enough to generate their own electricity or treat their own President"! ![]() But then, the Williams sisters are 'humility personified', in real life |
WHAADDDAAAAF*CK! Look at that pair of "firm, muscled and neat" bakkassi! Ohhh My God, now l know why most women folks in here are voting "nasty", it is ENVY! ![]() It takes gut to have such firm buttocks, WALAHI, some men cannot even boast of anything near that!! ![]() And whats more, she's one of the best in what she knows how to do, WORLDWIDE! How many of YOU "jealousy-go-kill-you" are even good enough in whatever you do, in your household? ![]() And if we we can get your own pix, we will see how you people "amass bubby" close to your throat, using "Koste-bra" ![]() Abeg, free this star and get busy so the whole world CAN PAY GOOD MONEY TO WATCH YOU. *switches to Eurosport to watch Williams sisters* ![]()

@ODI-BABA
I can say without contradiction that most Yoruba folks made a duty of insult to NdiIgbo whenever Biafra is mentioned, and this is not limited to ordinary people
I totally disagree with you on the above assertion. If some disagree with you in principle, on the issue of actualization of Biafra, l dont think you should term that as an insult. They may just feel they dont buy the idea, some others still feel Nigeria together, is better than Nigeria divided. I agree with the last notion on the condition that we practice "pure confederacy" and allow each region to develop at its own pace, while controlling its own natural resources but contributing some capital to a "weak center". ofcourse, those that loot at the center dont want to hear that (there would be less to loot and less aggregation of absolute power ).I think it is the notion that "if you dont agree with me or my position, we are enemies", that makes people think such disagreement is insulting. Having said that, we can not rule out "uncouth" people, people with deficient upbringing, that disparage a whole nationality just because one person or a few people from such nationality angers them. For example, hearing Ojukwu being the first, (from the Indigbo side and knowing how weighty his word is, as head of the Ohaneze Ndigbo) to publicly back IBB's Presidential aspiration (not minding the way IBB recently insulted ALL Nigerian Youths, after stealing and destroying their patrimony when he was in govt for 8yrs), one would be justified to be miffed at such rascality but it will be pertinently wrong to disparage ALL Ndigbo just because of that. Same goes for that Otta-Ape.
Obasanjo had better curriculum and experience. We were presented with two Yoruba candidates and we chose Obasanjo. He disappointed and we decided to vote him out and try another person, then the Yoruba came back with tribalism. Even in the face of all the atrocities Obasanjo had committed the Yoruba made a deal with him to sustain him in power and help him perpetuate himself
I agree with you "reservedly" on this and l qualified my agreement because in principle, Obasanjo was expected to use 8yrs but the North wanted to play a "fast one"! .Reason: 1) The invitation of Obasanjo was meant to pacify the Yorubas in 1999, for the injustice done to their kin even (MKO ABIOLA) though we would have proffered a more "intelligent and representative" Yoruba being. 2) In this pacification arrangement, it was recognized that the Northerners have dominated the presidency for about 80% of Nigeria's self rule and "one term" of 4yrs cannot go anywhere near the envisaged pacification. 3) The PDP's arrangement of "zoning" which eventually kicked-in another Notherner in 2007, would make a mockery of the whole pacification process, if they are allowed to 'grab' that seat again, just after 4yrs. Mind you, the Northerners were banking on the Yorubas rejection of OBJ in 1999, to use him to achieve their aim (pacification) and then dump him unceremoniously just afterwards but trust the Yorubas to decipher when someone is playing them for the fool! It was just to show them that we can be "simple" but we are not stupid, even if it meant being "flexible" towards someone we dont like. I think the Yorubas should be commended for that singular act. It shows discernment. Maybe some other tribe would have stubbornly stuck to their guns and assisted in rejecting their own but ask me, who would has lost out? The answer is obvious. Had we not done that in 2003, you can bet that its highly unlikely that a South-South person will be Nigeria's President today though it had some divine intervention sha. Its this kind off discernment that l would like to see such that if an Igbo person decides to contest the Presidency, instead of "lining-up" behind IBB, would it not have serve the Indigbo's purpose, to line-up behind one of their own? Another repetitive mistake that l think the Ndigbo-leadership makes (just my own opinion from the way events unfold, l might be wrong so, no offense) is that in rating the North and the Yorubas, they think they have a better chance of achieving their "aim" by supporting the North. While l think the events of the civil war might be the major reason for taking this position, events as they have unfolded, has shown that "this position" is faulty. The events of 1966 wasn't actually a "Yoruba decision". It was the acts of one man (Awolowo) whom in my own opinion, wanted to become the President of a "big, united Nigeria" in future, than become the President of a smaller, divided Nigeria. God knows the heart of man and has a way of "paying them back" in their own coin. Awo never achieved that objective somehow, even though he was eminently qualified by virtue of "cranial ability" In my own view, the Ndigbo have to re-align politically. If you think two people dislike you, you need to ask yourself, "which is the proffered of the two devils", if l may use such analogy. Look back at events in modern day Nigeria, from religious riot to ethnic cleansing, look at "accommodation of the Ndigbo in terms of business and property ownership (since the 70's), look at business spread and location of such business, and YOU CAN DEDUCE WHERE THE NDIGBO INTEREST IS BEST SERVED, even if you dont like the tribe. I am not speaking as a Yoruba person, l am speaking like "if it were me what would l have done"? But ofcourse, these are just from my coconut head and nothing more ![]() Cheers man. |
