@phreakabit:
Guy get the F outta here with your cheap political campaign strategies! Must we politicize everything, What do you mean by Now Jonathan is in trouble! You sounded super dumb in that part, and to think that i even wasted like 3 good minutes reading your comment, B4 i read that part, I feel sorry 4 you. We are talking of the well being of the people and you come here trolling!
You, like most Nigerians, dont seem to have a high dose of sense of humor!
The "Jonathan" phrase was to end the post on a lighter note between the two guys quarreling over what approach to take!

I said "What we need is an amalgamation of the NATIONALIST and the ENLIGHTENED" rolled into one, to give Jonathan a run for his money!
Obviously, l cant be saying that Buzeegee and the other guy are going to become a single human and wold contest against the President huh huh

It was just to humor them, that they are a formidable team, if they would channel their energies together, productively.

Relax Bro, life is too short to have a short fuse! grin

What still bothers me is WHY are these gorgeous animals dieing?

There are reports within the last two weeks, of beached Whales in at least six different countries, U.K, Ireland, Nigeria, Germany to mention a few.

Something must be killing them and the earlier we give it more thought, the better;
Lest what is killing Whales start killing humans sad huh cry

Policemen dont "miss their way" into another woman's bedroom!
THEY SIMPLY RAPE THEM!
If you doubt me, go ask the Apo Six in Abuja.

Emmmm, they killed them all, after the act lipsrsealed

Thing is Olusegun himself, grew up in Abeokuta so, he is qualified to call himself "Omo Egba"

All those pry 4 yarns about Yoruba history just shows he attended primary school and was a good student, at least up to pry 6! grin grin

@buzeegee and omo-tier1.

I have been following the spats between two of you and l must add that TOW OF YOU ARE GOOD MEN, two of you are striking at the 'SAME THING" but from different perspective!
Both of you want a better Nigeria!
One thinks we should copy good things from "abroad".
The other feels we can be good without copying anyone and that "oyinbo" has nothing to offer us.

Well, l appreciate people like you two, because you have the interest and dignity of your country-men at heart.

On a sober mood, WE CANNOT COPY ANY COUNTRY, WHOLESALE!
Every country has its own dark under-belly.
We then must be "smart like the Chineese", COPY ANYTHING GOOD FROM ANYONE grin

For example, on this whale issue, there are pictures already on the U-Tube depicting Nigerians as cannibals.
I have posted a comparison below, one in Nigeria, one from Ireland.
Both occurred on the same day, its the same type of whale that were "beached". Haaba huh

In one scenario, some were rescued, after it became a "tourist attraction", and thirty died among them but NONE was EATEN!
In our own scenario, only ONE WHALE was beached, that one was butchered and eaten!

I remember in 2004 or thereabout, the same event happened at one of those beaches in V/I and l left my office to have a look (Never seen a "life" Whale before then). By the time we got there, it was "butcher-fest"! All manner of dangerous weapons were used to scatter the Whale!

The questions that arise are:
**Is that the right thing to do?
**Can eating such animal not be dangerous to the health of the scavengers?
**Does "poverty and hunger", have anything to do with such ravenous scavenging?
Does such image portray us as "evolution-nized" beyond the impression that our haters want to paint about us?

We need to reflect on these things without being sentimental.
We are a great nation, a great people but to truly ascend to our greatness, we need to look ourselves in the face and tell ourselves the truth.

LET US COPY FROM OTHERS (OYINBO OR ANYONE) WHAT IS GOOD AMONGST THEM WHILE WE AVOID THE BAD THINGS THAT THEY DO.

That cant be too difficult to understand, cant it?

Instead of directing valuable energy at each others throat (and we all do this occassionally!  grin )
lets spare it and use it constructively, together, an amalgamation of the"nationalist and the enlightened": Thats what l call "winning team"!
Now Jonathan is in trouble!

Okay, so Dokpesi sets fire to a few equipments hoping that IBB will roll-in a part of the 2.8Billion Dollars oil windfall BUT IBB being the smart-alec looked the man in the face and the conversation went thus:

IBB: "Dokpesi, l hope ur insurance covered this one like the last fire?

Dokpesi: Insurance kee? Thats only done in Lagos! shocked

IBB: Am sorry for you, pls accept my heartfelt sympathy (IBB shuffles to start leaving)

Dokpesi: Broos-siiee, come oooo, u don forget?

IBB: (Turns round) Forget my wallets? Where?

Dokpesi: Something like dat Oooo! How are we goin to run a good campaign if we dont buy new Hi-tech equipments to replace the burnt one?

IBB: Hmmmmm, (Scratches his head and uses his tongue to massage in-between to sexy gap-tooth). Okay, l will speak with the Director of NTA to give you a temporary job till after l win the election, then you can send a bill to the Department of Natural Disaster grin grin grin wink

And by the way, every "Igbo boy" in my class can recite that same story Obasanjo used to "back-up" his ancestory! grin

We all read it from a Yoruba Textbook, right there in primary school! sad

This old man needs to get a better excuse than some lame plagiarism from a textbook, Habba!!!

That Igbo Chief that was a Policeman, who was posted to Abeokuta (as Policemen normally do, they father one child in every place they are posted to!) did not even know that the woman he slept with was pregnant (and l hear hat the woman was someone else wife at that material time lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed ) because he got postd out of Abeokuta again!

On a serious note, a few people have analyzed OBJ and it seems you have to have a very brutal conception to be able to do all those heinous acts, like sleeping with your son's wife angry angry
Politics › Re: I Am A Thoroughbred Yoruba Man – Obasanjo by lastpage: 1:55am On Nov 01, 2010
Long ago, a Reporter openly asked OBJ this same question about his roots.
That Reporter languished in OBJ's personal prison in that his farm for God knows how long.
That was the last that was heard of that Reporter!

Obasanjo and Oba-chonjo might sound alike, they dont mean the same thing!
If you really want to see OBJ's fury, try asking him this question in public, to is face! grin

Me thinks there is no smoke without fire, even if it takes a Ghananian (upon all the writers on NL  huh ) to douse the fire! wink
If it looks like shiite, smells like shiite, walks like shiite, talks like shiite, IT IS CERTAINLY SHIITE!

BTW: This has nothing to do with the Yorubas wanting another go at the Presidency, thats just a lame excuse to trivialize this issue.

@ileke-idi
Let me ask you something, how cheap is the cost of energy source you're using right now? And how constant is it?

If SP is costlier than Whatever "pa nan pa nan" you guys are currently using in Lagos, then I won't mind as long as SP serves us 24hr/day light/ energy.
I've tried both and a few other options in-between.
Right now, l use Gas and Electricity for my energy needs. Its far cheaper than when l tried running the same number of power equipments on complete Solar Power source. Infact, l had to scale down, for me to even use the Solar Power.
And my freezer has been on solid ice for the last 10 - 5years until l changed it for a more energy efficient one that doesn't build-up ice. Power is constant in as much as you can pay for it! grin

Although l observed you did not provide any answer to the valid questions and possible scenario l painted above, you just went on this tangent about some "incoherent phrase" (pan am pan am?) huh huh about Lagos?
WTFK shocked shocked
Politics › Re: Omatek Deploys Solar-powered Panels In Ekiti by lastpage: 8:02pm On Oct 30, 2010
Until we can manufacture those "Deep Cycle Batteries" in Nigeria, all these talk of Solar Energy being the cheapest in Nigeria is HOGWASH and selling-by-deceit!

How on earth will an average Nigerian (say a Teacher who earns 50K monthly) be able to buy enough batteries to switch COMPLETELY to Solar Power?

Calculate the energy needs of a household (Fridge, Freezer, TV, Fans, Music System, Phones, Electric Cooker, Microwave, Boiling kettle, A.C, Computer System, e.t.c) and tell me the size/number of those very expensive Deep Cycle Batteries that would be needed to guarantee uninterrupted Solar Power energy supply.

Until anyone can show me a calculation that shows that Solar arrangement is cheaper than NEPA  grin or Gas or even firewood (lol), until then, stop deceiving people and raising their hopes unnecessarily.

BTW: We had Berec Batteries in Lagos when l was young; cant Fashola  grin or any private Investor go into that battery manufacture?

@na2day "Sometimes these people think that we are imbeciles that is incapable of thinking, Imagine these nonsense  Angry
The rocket for hamas from Iran?

For your information Iran does not need to undertake such ludicrous journey of sailing almost round the world to deliver rockets  to gaza that is a stonethrow from them!
They have been shipping rockets and other armaments to Gaza for years through the tunnels under Rafah crossing in Egypt, I tell u, even cars are brought into Gaza through these tunnels!
Another hole through the shameless assertion, is that building materials are part of the contrabands that Israel prohibits from entering Gaza, any ship bringing materials into Gaza can only dock at Ashdod port of Israel, cos Gaza is under a blockade (Remember Mavi Marmara), I can assure u Israel don't collect bribe like our own port workers does especially when their security is at stake, any such vessel going to Gaza must be offloaded at Ashdod and the cargo taken by road into Gaza after thorough inspection!
So, such Ship with building materials (a contraband) going to Gaza is like a ship with a giant bull'seye on it crying SEARCH ME! SEARCH ME!! SEARCH ME!!!
This is just the beginning of the drama, 9ja we hail thee! (Now i beleive that we have cretins leading our security agencies, imagine such bullshit!  Angry )

This is getting interesting, Pls, Grab a seat
Thank you very much Bro.
A lot of our people are just too gullible, mentally-lazy and straight-jacketed!

I have a few questions:
1.) Why is it ONLY ISRAEL, among all nations, that is pointing fingers, so early in the investigation?
Does this "smell" like another 9/11?
Israel has a way of inciting other countries against its enemies. In 9/11, Osama Bin Laden was accused of attacking America, then it emerged that all the arrested came mostly from Saudi Arabia and none from Iraq! But then, it was Iraq, the main challenger to Israel in the Middle East, that was destroyed, using American might.
And you know what, ISRAEL wins!!

Point am making is that this is another mischief from Israel, to incite other nations against its new arch enemy/challenger in the middle East.
Before you know it, Israel will be asking the United Nations for more sanctions. It will be asking the United States and E.U to wage war on Iran but why do we not think that Israel may be behind the shipment?

Israel was the one that forged the National Passport of many E.U countries like Ireland, Germany, e.t.c, to murder people in UAE recently!
The same Israel which has a very advanced SECRET Nuclear weapons program, refused to be a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation treaty, uses banned weapons like Napalm on "stone-throwing" Palestinians and yet is clamoring for sanctions on Iran for trying to develop Nuclear weapons(?)

2.) How come the Israeli official wants to "speak and accuse" Iran but wants to remain anonymous?
How come they are not offering any hard evidence to show that the weapons are really destined for Gaza, and from Iran?

It will take a long time for most people to understand that ISRAEL is the greatest danger to the modern world, using very smart designs and cunning but l just pray by then, it will not be too late!

No wonder Jesus said "The Kingdom of God" has be taken away from the Israelites and GIVEN TO THE GENTILES.

I have been very wary of them since l read in the Bible that they murdered Jesus and their religion till today is not Christianity but Judaism

@lastpage kilode?why so much venom,I understand your point, but that doesn't mean everybody should agree with you

And you saying husbands are not for their wives alone is laughable, even if u,the polygamist that u are,has five wives at home, can u share even one with another man?
Sorry, if l come across as "generalizing", that would be wrong.

I believe we can dissect an issue without making it "personal".
For example, if l am against the stoning to death, of Homosexuals, as recommended in Uganda,
(a) it does not make me a Homosexual
(b) It does not mean l like or hate Homosexuality.
(c) It could mean l just feel killing other people is plain wrong!

So, dont jump to conclusions about calling me a polygamist BUT then, it does not mean l am against those who choose that way of life.
Really, if someone with five spouses cannot agree to share one of them with somebody else, why should l not expect someone with just only one spouse to raise hell if the issue of sharing is mentioned?
Its not whether its "one or many" that one has", it is "Human Nature", not to share.
Not just spouses, even personal belongings like one's car! (Reason why people lock their cars and never leave the key in the ignition grin )

Having said that, l dont have any venom. Rather, l think it is those who criticize the lifestyle of others that betray a large dose of venom but most are not manly enough to admit it publicly: THEY RATHER FLOW WITH THE CROWD, its safer that way and it is the way out for mentally -lazy people!

The use of "husband/wife is of no more significance than if l have juxtaposed them otherwise!
My "postulation" is supposed to set "us" thinking (that was my aim, male and female).

I've always wondered whether "people getting married, actually mean THE EXACT WORDS OF THOSE VOWS they exchange"?. Whether if put to the test, how many would stand up to measure?

My concern, which l try to throw open to the "intelligent" public  (so l can hear their own opinion/reaction) is "if people will actually stand to the words of those vow or whether they are just saying for saying-sake"?

****I am sure we have all seen husband/wife desert their spouse in illness?
****I am sure we have seen a spouse desert the other husband or wife when that fat-paying job is lost and money longer roll-in?
****I am sure we've all heard stories of how ordinary "separation" (maybe a transfer to Abuja from Lagos, for one of the spouses) has caused love to dwindle and marriage to break down?
So much for "to love and to cherish, in health and in sickness, in poverty and in wealth, e.t.c"

These are the weighty issues l am interested in finding a/the reason(s) why they happen.

If you think that makes me a polygamist, venomous or any other invective you can think of, l will respect your opinion.
No qualms.
But l am sure if you look at the issues dispassionately, you will agree that these things do happen everyday! it happens to husbands, it happens to wives!!

So, why cant it be discussed between real grown-ups?

I leave the rest to others.

BTW: I was actually annoyed with the people casting aspersions about her feet, l think she did not create that feet herself and it is not everyone who did that "act" that can win Miss Nigeria/ Mr. Most Handsome! angry

From experience, l know that most people who graduate with low grades in their first degree may have done so not because they are not intelligent but at times, immaturity, (especially when you enter at a very young age and you're the naturally gifted but playful type), inaccurate knowledge/late understanding of how the G.P.A course system works or even for lack of financial support to cater for under-G expenses.

At times, l compare this nairaland to NigerianVillageSquare and other online forums!

This Nairaland is obviously full of people you can refer to as "children", in terms of reasoning and cognitive abilities!
Imagine, someone marries a husband, as a second wife and some people are already having a stroke over it?

I am yet to hear the first wife come to Nairaland to ask for help yet some "gba-ran-mi-di-eleru" (those who cry more than the bereaved grin ) have already developed "long-distance migraine" all in an effort to sound super!

I can assure you, if not for the anonymity of the internet, you will be surprised that some of this cunts criticizing her and calling her husband snatcher are:
(a) failed marriages
(b) chronic adulterers
(c) lonely lesbians and gays!

Some of you will eventually fall in a worse situation than her in future (at least she takes her own with some calmness and seems to have found love!)

That idiot calling her Hagai, so u read Genesis very well but you did not read beyond that otherwise you will know that even David (Apple of God's wife), Solomon (Whom God gave the greatest wisdom and "every other thing he did not ask for), Jacob and many more anointed of God are polygamous!

By the way, WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE HER?
Have you even crossed that line called marriage?
If you have, will you commit suicide if your husband marries a second wife (and l suspect he will not even share you, he will dump you first), will you commit suicide?

This idea that a Husband is a personal property is stupid and just exposes the inner greed in most humans.

If you want to know your spouse, despite the "In health or in sickness, in poverty or in riches Vows" you both took, tell her you have a second wife and her true self will surface! Give it a test.
Its not about religion, its actually all about "economics and power of control".

Its all because she thinks she owes you, thats why everything was smooth in the first place after all, she will be the only one to inherit you when she decides she had enough of you! grin

Leave the woman alone with her stinking feet (put yours here for us to see, l dare YOU!)
Monkey no fine, im mama like am.

Anyway, Nairaland is all about idle gossip and no intellectual value is added.

Okay, its obvious now that these "religious fanatics" were unleashed to:

1.) Once again, milk the national purse by trying to imitate he N.D militant.
2.) Cause mayhem and intimidate the F.G.
3.) Prove that "they too" get liver and be militant!

But the irony as someone has pointed out are:

(a) While the militants in N.D are fighting for a worthy cause (oppressing the owners of the goose that lays the golden egg), the Boko Haram are fighting to perpetuate illiteracy, ignorance and backwardness

(b)While MEND is a war as a result of government insensitivity over the years (especially under IBB who murdered Ken Saro Wiwa), these Boko Haram folks just woke up one day and started running mad

(c) While MEND is a movement of "a people", an ethnic power", Boko Haram is an amalgamation of foreign bandits (especially from Chad, Sudan and Niger) who are at best, mercenaries, paid to cause mayhem.

(d) we like it or not, MEND has the capability to cripple Nigeria's economy because the oil sits under them, in their backyard. At worst, Boko Haram can only "assassinate some people", especially in the North. If they come down south, most will be like fish out of water since we can easily discern and Huasa/Northerner from a Southerner! In fact, they would put all other "peace-loving and hardworking Northerner" in the South at great risk and danger (since everyone may be considered a Boko Haram). So, it is in the interest of ALL Northerners in the South, to ensure they dont bring their nuisance down-south!
(e) At best, some Northern politicians are using Boko Haram to scare/threaten/intimidate their Northern colleagues not to support a Southern candidate. Well, aside the influence of some "bast*rds" in te south that would sell thei conscience for some piece of looted wealth, the North CAN NOT win a Presidential on its own! This is where the Igbos can really (at  least this time around) play their cards right and stop playing second fiddle. We are witnessing a repeat of history once again (From Chukwu merije, Ojukwu, Authur Nzeribe, that perpetual Senator whose only job in the Senate is "impeachment" for Ghana-must-go!), some prominent Igbos, for the sake of money are already lining-up behind the "worst leader" Nigeria ever produced!

Anyway, thats a digression.
So, it is my considered opinion that Boko Haram can kiss my dirty black ar*se!

As a Christian, l dont have to worry about a Muslim brother, as long as he follows exactly, the teachings of the Quoran
As a Muslim, you dont have to be wary of me, as long as l follow the teachings of the Bible!

But in reality, mere men, mere mortals have taken on the responsibility of "fighting for and on behalf" of the ALMIGHTY GOD (be it called Allah, Jehovah God or his Son, Jesus Christ)?
Is that not strange? That ordinary man wants to seek vengeance on God's behalf? Who is stronger?

That is how Christians and Muslims should seek converts, not all these blaring of P.A. systems and disturbing peoples peace in the neighborhood, robbing little babies of their sleep!
Not by violence, certainly not by all these "public campaigns" they stage here and there.

The Bible says "Let your light so shine (life be so exemplary) that men will see it and give glory (inquire about the God) to your father in heaven"!

Thank you and keep it up.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pray For Erastus Akingbola Of Intercontinental Bank by lastpage: 12:03am On Oct 13, 2010
@bankylan
Please,I want you all to be careful when you talk about Tithes here, You can talk about the personality concerned, but not talking about God's tithe, Now I know why many people suffer in life. Watch your mouth and have respect for God. Most of the comments are from people who are still struggling with life, Titthes should not be talked down here at all. Most of you do worse things than Akingbola. And by the time, you all realise the damage done to Nigerian economy and the future of this nation by your CBN GOVERNOR you will all cry for this country, He has a good intention, but the execution is damn dumb and unintelligennt, Lehman brothers in US had her own share of recession, Citi bank made loss of 18b usd, HSBC made loss 0f 3.4b usd, JP Morgan lost 3.2b usd, Bank of America made loss of 5.3b USD,, Barclays, 2.6b, Credit Sisse made a loss of 2b dollars, Yet, these banks were able to regularise and they are back in Business today, The problem is that most NAIRALANDERS and Nigerians dont read, we just believe anything we hear from our Newpapers, Have you done your own findings and see what went wrong, and what ideally should have been done in an educated environment? I am not speaking in absolute support of Akingbola, but it is very sad when people we consider as the future of Nigeria just make comments like 'animals', I am very sorry to have used that word, but it is saddening that we live in an environment where people are fed with just anything and they just follow dogmatically. If people that are making comments here are children , then I will understand, but majority are job seekers, graduates, yet, people talk as if they are touts, Please let us change and talk objectively,
I like your comments but please cut out those bits where l highlighted.

1.) We can talk about Tithe. We can discuss it (the Bible was written to educate, nurture, teach, inspire, e.t.c). Even the Bible says we should seek the truth and it will set us free (Meaning wallowing in ignorance is akin to being in bondage!) . The Bible asks us to "Investigate EVERYTHING and hold firmly to the TRUTH!. Now, you see why we cannot keep quiet about Tithe and the way its been abused?
Of what use is the Tithe from looted and stolen money or did the Bible not command: Thou shall not steal or covet what belongs to others?

2.)How dare you say the comments are from people that are struggling? The funny thing about "internet and social networking" is that it can bring an 80yr old person and a 10yr old together, in a virtual discussion and none of them would be aware! Maybe YOU ARE STILL STRUGGLING but l know at least two people here who are CEO's of their business and have built there own homes and have a family. How do you define your "struggle" label then? What is bad, is bad! sefini. You dont even need to be rich to know something is morally wrong, especially among "real christians".

3.)Now, concerning Sanusi and what his "undeclared objectives" are or may be, l totally agree with you.
It is said that you can do a "good thing" for a "bad reason" or do a "bad thing" for a "good reason".
We have not yet seen the end of this "take-overs" of private banks by the CBN.
I read on Sahara Reporters, where Akingbola stated that the newly installed MD of intercontinental (installed by Sanusi) has written-off the loan of the Sarakis (perpetual devourers of other people's wealth!), how they are trying to sell the bank to themselves and all sorts of shenanigan.
I called a friend in that bank and some of these things were confirmed! So, you have a very valid point.

Having said that, "IF" Akingbola is found guilty of corruptly using public funds to "pay Tithe" and leave his lifestyle, then he should be made to face the penalty.
The Sarakis and Sanusi (CBN Guvnor) are no better than Akingbola just as IBB and OBJ are the same two sides of a devilish coin.

Today, its the day of reckoning for Akingbola and Cecilia Ibru, The day of Saraki and Sanusi (Just like his predecessor, Soludo who is now stinkingly rich!) will come. Every day for the thief, one day for the owner.
There are too many thieves in high places in Nigeria that its best they "destroy themselves first" so that we can "manage the rest in a public Guillotine, French-style

BTW: I often wonder, if my father was a thief and is public disgraced and talked about like this, how will l feel?
If l was also a thief and was caught like Cecilia Ibru was caught and sent to prison, HOW WILL L FEEL IN PUBLIC?

Or is it that their children have been blinded by the money their parents stole, that they feel no shame anymore?

Good name is certainly better than Silver or Gold.
My father did not soil his family name. Now l bear that name!
I will not soil that name, (now) my children bear that same name!!
My children MUST NOT soil the same name, it is our family heritage!!!

What about YOU? Does your family name mean anything to YOU?
Christianity Etc › Re: Pray For Erastus Akingbola Of Intercontinental Bank by lastpage: 3:47am On Oct 12, 2010
As with most Nigerians, it takes VERY LONG for us to comprehend!

Someone worked really hard and saved money.
He did not steal or take what belongs to others.
He had children and aged parents.
He bought the shares of Continental bank based on two reasons:
1.)The value of the shares declared in the MANIPULATED books of the bank (No thanks to tithe-paying Pastor Akingbola )
2.) He believed that a bank that is led by a "born-again" christian like Akingbola can not go anywhere but up.

After Akingbola has collected the inflated money from the share offer, he went about paying "tithe" and buying property all over the place, he was living the good life!

Within a few months, this man's life savings (the investor) went from millions of Naira to NOTHING, ZILCH!

This man's children suffered and could not make school again.
His aged parents suffered and went hungry at old age!
His wife is on the verge of a divorce because the "husband" has wasted the family savings on Akingbola's phantom share-value. In short, his family is ruined!!

This same man is now asked to PRAY FOR AKINGBOLA ,
what do you think will be the prayer that he will utter?

"If you will love your neighbor as thyself and do unto others as exactly you will want done unto you", then YOU'RE A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST, A CHRISTIAN!

Those whom Jesus "flogged and drove out of the church" back then, did not do as much worse as this, they were only playing "kashy and kalokalo"!

Thank God Jesus was not still around otherwise, Akingbola, Cecilia Ibru and some Nigerian Pastors for shout for help, big time!

FIFA itself is becoming a big part of the problem
Their actions is aiding and abetting corruption, all in the name of "non-interference".
Blatter is beginning to act like one defacto demi-god, sticking its nose into other country's internal affairs!!

I THINK NIGERIA SHOULD ACTUALLY BAN FIFA ITSELF angry

We can do without football for 2yrs while we put our house in order.

Our national sovereignty is a stake right now but the "mumus" in power dont even have any dignity and self-respect anyway,

Nonsense and rubbi-ngredients grin grin
Politics › Re: Terrorism - I Did Not Exonerate Mend -jonathan by lastpage: 11:50pm On Oct 08, 2010
I think that Malam Tafida is correct, "most" Nigerians do not only 'dont understand English', majority have a very poor sense of Logic! angry

Okay, l know it is fashionable to try to hang Goodluck Jonathan at this point because "the heat is on" from different quarters but let me lay it down in SIMPLE TURAINSHI as we say in local parlance.

These are the facts:

1.)MEND is an organisation, with "known Leaders" and these same leaders have come out in public to denounce and dissociate themselves from the blast.
So, do we know MEND more than the leaders of MEND?

2.) Henry Okah has of recent "fallen-out" with MEND as an organisation; when they agreed to an amnesty but he wanted to continue the "struggle". So, it is reasonable to say H.Okah does not speak for MEND anymore. He is too busy collecting hundrends of millions of dollars from his mansion in S/Africa while the "boys" suffer on ground here. Except we want to believe that MEND is now a part of IBB's campaign organisation?
At times, some of these "leaders" use their position to make personal money at the expense of what they stand for (remember Dele Giwa?, remember how that NLC leader (now turned Governor) scuttled our protest against OBJ after series of fuel increases and he collected Land in Abuja and a lot of money in exchange; while people put their lives on the line in Lagos?)

3.) GEJ himself is from that axis (South-South) and he knows, being the first indigene of that area to reach that exalted office, he has the support of the whole South-South (if just to have a go at their own quota  grin ) and the boys in the creeks. Being one of them, it stands to common-sense that they would not jeopardize his chances by ruining his biggest public display. The only people that have the "motive and would benefit" from such actions are the mostly Northern opposition candidates who are still smarting from not be given automatic Presidency, courtesy of some dubious rotation agreement!

4.) GEJ speaks from a position of knowledge while most people are speaking from a position of hearsay in that ANYONE COULD CLAIM TO BE MEND, ON THE PHONE! The REAL MEND, which we have seen in flesh and blood, which GEJ is referring to, have come out to state that it was  not their handiwork.

5.) Some unseen, faceless person says on phone: This is the handiwork of MEND and everyone goes gaa-ga! Is that how reasonable people (or people who understand turainshi!) come to a conclusion? What about "motive" in the issue of crime management?
Can anyone tell me a reasonable motive, if MEND was really responsible?
And l will give you ten motives why those opposed to GEJ's government and re-election would likely be behind this criminal act.

So, if just to "give a dog a bad name" you guys and all the Northern candidate-collaborators, could still continue to harp on it that he is "supporting MEND" or that he "jumped the gun", that is your prerogative!

GEJ was NOT defending MEND, HE WAS STATING A FACT, which would be come apparent as time passes.
Those responsible for bombing a nation are called "Terrorists" and MEND cannot be an euphemism for "Terrorist" since Alquaida, Boko Haram, Taliban, BASQUE, IRA, e.t.c are all labeled terrorist organisations.

If it takes GEJ's assistants and media officers to 'explain' in Yoruba, Igbo, Efik, Anang, Benin and Hausa before most Nigerians would understand the position of the President, then so be it. It would take time to sink-in but eventually, it will.
What do you expect from people who "inhale generator fumes" into the brain, all day long? shocked grin wink
Jonathan please provide stable electricity before everyone goes nut! embarassed embarassed

Qrangemen
if osaze is up for sale at 100k pounds, wenger will tell u he is the best player in the world.
Wenger is "first", BUSINESSMAN and after then, A COACH.

As a "Gunner4-Life", Wenger has caused us so much heartache because he puts "making Pounds" for the Club (and himself, as a major shareholder) than winning trophies,
With a Masters Degree in Economics(?), it is no surprise that its only Arsenal, among the EPL clubs, that built a new stadium without going into debt!
He buys "cheap" and sells "high".
Credit to him though but where will the trophies come from?

But for the "brand of football" Arsenal plays, l will still remain a Gunner-till- "l rest in peace"
Culture › Re: What Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by lastpage: 10:23pm On Sep 29, 2010
Invisible:
@lastpage, I think your whole post is taking this things out of the real question. You only needed to answer that juju is real and give your own version or experience and not bore us with you long epistle which will leave the reader more confused. Juju does not exist, or why is it hidden, shrouded in secrecy (the bible is open to all, so is the quoran)
Dont talk about the freemasons cause you will be committing the same offense twice; accusing a group you dont belong to of acts which you dont know if they practice. Cults are meant to bring like minded people together to pursue their common agenda which could be selfish, carnal, or illegal and they prefare secrecy to cover their tracks. We know the bible has quotes about magic and powers but its written with the directive of God. Show me the juju 'bible' and give me quotes of magic from the juju books.
My point? Dont confuse the bible and juju.
Invisible,
reading you brings two questions to my mind:
1. How old are you? shocked
2. If you are confused by a few sentences, what could be more futile than trying to "bore your likes" with explanation about something that even the "wise" earnestly seek to understand?

If you're waiting for me or anyone to hand you a "juju bible" (as you put it), then God help you shocked huh
My contribution was not meant for people who have comprehension problems (l respect such people and their views all the same)
And concerning the Freemasons, l need not convince you at all. Only the deep can speak to the deep (l expect that to be boring and incomprehensible as well so, dont bother about it)

BTW: l've made my contribution on the topic, as much as this forum will permit and l do not wish to flog a dead-horse any further.
