Properties › Re: Architectural Designs For Nairalanders Who Want To Build by lastpage: 4:48am On Apr 11, 2010
With my "little" knowledge of security and how it works, l actually think "high fences" negate the very idea of security that people are trying to implement!
Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPED) actually suggests that though fences are important in other to demarcate and take possession of your security perimeter, making them "see-through" will actually enhance the overall "collective security" of your house and other houses in the street.
Have you ever wondered how "thieves spend ONE WEEK in some people's house, putting them under siege, without even their next door neighbor being aware until when the thieves now decide to leave after over staying? grin
That is what those "Prison walls" do to you.
They are designed to "contain within" but not to "Prevent from without", which is what l believe should be the crux of any home security.

Once they can scale those walls (and thats quite easy, barb-wire or not), your high fence serves no useful purpose anymore and is actually now a danger to you and your occupants.
Think about it further, in your own quiet time and tell me what you feel.

BTW: Good Alsatian or Rottweiler dogs would do a better job of preventing neighborhood nuisance from entering your compound (not determined armed robbers o!) than those high fence.

After the initial hiccups, everyone, including the kids have access to a TV with remote.
Our taste is so diverse, even my kids dont agree on the same program: One is Cartoon Network, Another wants to WWW Wrestling 24/7, Another one like that yeye channel that shows "Barbie Doll" (and l guess by now you know the gender!), wifey is always on Nigerian Movie channel, myself, l love footy and Discovery Channels!

Politics › Turai For Vice President. Daughters Zainab And Nafisatu In The Running Also by lastpage(op): 10:43pm On Feb 26, 2010
Well, it seems all the "maradona" that Turai YarAdua has been playing is finally coming to a head.
Report indicated that after the President was flown into the country in a separate plane so that "no one", not even the Ag. President can see him, it is becoming too obvious that our guy is a vegetable.
He has been living inside a mobile Ambulance since then (l guess that is an "advance Aso Rock grin )
Now that Turai can not fight destiny, she wants to do one of two things

1. Become the Vice President herself (Dont ask me what makes her qualified, apart from being the "bed" of UMYA)
2. Either one of her daughters husband (remember the speed with which she married them off to serving Governors?) become the Vice President.

The question is: WHO DOES THIS JEZEBEL THINK SHE IS, TO BE SHARING NIGERIA'S OFFICE LIKE IT WAS HER HUSBANDS BOWL OF TUWO-SHINKAFA?

Is this right or is this the face of a "New Nigeria" and can this kind of behaviour not lead to a truncation of democracy or even a disintegration of teh country?

http://www.pointblanknews.com/os2960.html

Jonathan's VP's spot: Yar'Adua's daughters, Zainab, Nafisatu in fight to finish
The return of Umaru Yar’Adua in a vegetative state, with the reality of his not being able to ever  function as president, has set two of his daughters, Zainab and Nafisatu, both married to sitting governors ,at war path over whose husband will be vice president to Acting President Goodluck Jonathan. The former is married to Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Usman Dakingari, while the later is fourth wife to Bauchi Governor, Isa Yuguda.

Sources close to the Yar’Adua family told pointblanknews.com Thursday night that since reality has dawned on their mother, Turai, is set to anoint either Yuguda or Dakingari as a VP candidate that would protect the interest of the family.
It was however learnt that Turai is more disposed to Yuguda considering his role during the drama. He was in Saudi Arabia, and was later in the US to, aside from be by his wife’s side that recently gave birth, he was also scouting for a hospital that could provide better service for his father-in-law. As for Dakingari, he is seen by turai as laid back, but our source said that his wife, Zainab, is the apple of Turai’s eye.
Both Yuguda and Dakingari are among those on the list of PDP hopefuls for the coveted office of vice president
Pointblanknews.com further gathered that in the last few days Turai has been speaking with her kids, and some top brass of the PDP concerning who works with Acting President, Goodluck Jonathan as VP She has told the PDP she would submit a name soon, but the disagreement between Zainab and Nafisatu is delaying the move,
According to our sources, the sisters have for a while now been campaigning for their husbands.  Turai who is close to feisty Zainab, wants them to agree within themselves as per who she should anoint for the PDP, but the sisters are yet to agree.
Said our source” it has been fight to finish between them. They cannot agree on who they should present to the mother. Turai although is close to Zainab, cannot take sides so she wants them to sort it out. This arose when, Turai realized it is over for her husband, so to protect the family’s interest, she wants a son-in-law to step in”
Is this is what our country has turned to?

Okay, we've tried everything CIVIL to locate this AWOL President but it seems some people, led by his wife are hiding something!
We are talking about "national security" here? What if Niger Delta decides to secede or Odua decides to go their way because they think one section of the country is playing political games with them, concerning the President, would you blame them?

The honorable thing for the King of Saudi Arabia to do (if he still has any left in him at this moment) is to come out clearly and show some respect to our country by stating the position of his government on this matter.
One Hospital or government cannot hold another country to ransom simply because TURAI signed some "private arrangement" on behalf of herself over a NATION's PRESIDENT. WE SHOULD SEE YAR'ADUA AS A NATIONAL ASSET (OR DEFICIT!) FOR NOW, NOT AS TURAI'S HUSBAND

I say we order TURAI back to Nigeria and let her "come and explain" this embarrassment she has just brought to the nation and our "Acting" President.

If she refuses and Saudi King does not budge, we issue an arrest warrant for TURAI (along with her collaborators and Budget forgers), sack the Saudi envoy to Nigeria and break-of diplomatic relations with them. We then sack that Yaradua and let him continue to "watch football, partake in Boxing matches and WWA Wrestling" with his likes in Aljanna grin

Enemies of "Tithe", at work!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100219/ap_on_en_tv/us_televangelist_divorce

ORANGE, Calif. – The wife of televangelist Benny Hinn has filed for divorce from the high-profile pastor, whose reputation as an advocate of prosperity gospel has attracted millions of followers and criticism from lawmakers and watchdog groups over his lavish lifestyle.

Suzanne Hinn filed the papers in Orange County Superior Court on Feb. 1, citing irreconcilable differences, after more than 30 years of marriage. The papers note the two separated on Jan. 26 and that Hinn has been living in Dana Point, a wealthy coastal community in southern Orange County.

"Pastor Benny Hinn and his immediate family were shocked and saddened to learn of this news without any previous notice," Benny Hinn Ministries said Thursday in a statement. "Although Pastor Hinn has faithfully endeavored to bring healing to their relationship, those efforts failed and were met with the petition for divorce that was filed without notice."

Hinn is one of the best known advocates of the prosperity gospel, which teaches that Christians who are right with God will be rewarded with wealth and health in this lifetime.

His TV broadcasts on the Trinity Broadcast Network, a Pentecostal broadcasting juggernaut, and other TV networks are seen by millions of people around the world nearly every day. He travels the globe in his ministry's plane, named Dove One, holding events he calls "Miracle Crusades" that include spiritual healings.

Hinn has never fully publicly disclosed how he spends the money he raises, but his vast ministry is believed to be a multimillion-dollar operation. There was no mention of finances in the court filing, which listed three recent Southern California addresses for the family.

Over the years, Hinn has been the target of intense criticism from fellow Christians and watchdog groups who call his teachings false and accuse him of raising money only to enrich himself.

He is one of six televangelists under investigation by Sen. Charles Grassley, the Iowa Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, over whether he complied with IRS rules for nonprofits. Hinn has said on his Web site that external auditors ensure his compliance with IRS regulations and that in 2008, 88 percent of the money he collected was spent on ministry.

Benny Hinn Ministries is based in Grapevine, Texas, and operates a church and television studio in Aliso Viejo in California's Orange County, according to its Web site.

Sorrell Trope, the attorney with the law firm representing Suzanne Hinn, did not return a call for comment. A woman at his office said the firm does not comment on divorce filings without the client's approval.

J. Lee Grady, contributing editor of Charisma, a news magazine on the Pentecostal community, said Hinn's divorce is the latest in a string of high-profile ministry divorces and moral failures among the Pentecostal leaders, beginning with Ted Haggard's fall from grace in 2006.

Haggard, who is married and has five children, admitted to receiving a massage from a male prostitute and buying drugs from him, but denied allegations he paid the man for sex.

Grady said in an e-mail Thursday that Hinn's followers will want an explanation for the divorce because of the high profile the couple had.

"It will be devastating to the people who have supported Benny Hinn's evangelistic work around the world," Grady said.

"Obviously because their ministry has been very public, they will need to issue a statement to their supporters to explain how this happened," he said
May be "Benny" was chopping alone? huh huh huh lipsrsealed undecided

Now, this is my own line of thought on the above.
Its is the honorable thing to do, for a non-performing Minister but Lukman's issue viz-a-viz "Prez Jonathan" goes beyond that.

This is how it happned:
Lukman is a failure in his office, and he has been around since l was a boy (He was JAMB Registrar when my senior brother did Jamb in 1983!).
As Energy Minister, Petroleum Minister or JAMB chief, he was and is a recurring failure.

Lukman publicly ridiculed Jonathan, as a V.P when the former told him to stay home and sort out the fuel shortage he created (or facilitated) around Christmas, as the Minister in charge. Lukman humiliated Jonathan by publicly doing otherwise (action) and saying very insulting words (like he cant take instruction from him) to Jonathan. The battle line was drawn but Lukman did not bargain that the fight would come this quick!
I hate it when a boxer hits the floor in round one! I want to see blood in round five, flying tooth in round nine and coma in round twelve! grin angry wink
Seems Luku-boy has gone chicken, after throwing the first blow at Jonathan?

Now, if you were Jonathan, now that you have the cudgel in ur hand, would you just allow this tart to just take a walk?
If this were a Military dispensation, l can assure you that Lukman will either be shot or spend the rest of his life (Like Mustapha) in an underground cell, but then this is demo-crazy!

So, Jonathan is thinking "hey Luku-boy, not so fast", l will keep you around cos nothing will please me than to whip ur squeezed-up, bad -azz, strip you of your stolen wealth and then disgrace you out of the office.

Believe me, Jonathan has no use for him (Just like Anaconda, who even wanted to swindle us of 50Million Naira, to do some pep-talk junket in Europe and America, at the last minute! That guy deserves to be Guillotined!).
Dont judge Jonathan by this singular act, wait till you see what he does with Luku-boy, later in the day grin grin grin

Its about time those who ridiculed "Goodluck" in those times, have a taste of "badluck" and know what it means to "run out of luck" tongue tongue

As for Prof. Iwuruwuru, this country's politics shall never know any peace until that devil incarnate is put in a steel cage and thrown into the bottom of the ocean

Lesson: Power is transient, use it wisely and honorably!

I hope "debosky" and other lackeys of Pastor Joe Agbaje are watching o?
Jeje-lly, we are having our discussion about Tithe, HE CAME AND CONTRIBUTED, WILLINGLY, AND WITHIN HIS RIGHTS TOO!

BUT when the kitchen becomes too HOT, he will run back to report that they are mentioning his name AND YOU LACKEYS will shoot-down thethread like you've done a few ones (including the on the started) like these:

There have been numerous reports of 'personal attacks' by members other than Joe Agbaje.

Sorry it has to be locked. I think Joe Agbaje has been scrutinized enough to allow individuals make their own personal judgments as to whether he is a crook or not.
ALL IN THE NAME OF MODERATING A THREAD huh

My suggestion is that he STAYS-OFF OUR THREAD, IFF he is going to connive with some sh*theads to "lock" the thread when its not going their way or they are being exposed.

Afterall, he is free to always start his own thread, right?

Just my ten cents.

BTW: Poster, l will suggest you not only donate the money as tithe, you can also sell ur clothes, and sign a 10Million naira bond with a Shylock moneylender (u will in turn serve him for 5years grin ), and pack all to your Pastor! At least that way "Heaven is guaranteed for you"!

Okay, l use to think its only Nigerians that play this kind of "scam" but alas, a Belgian is in on it as well! shocked

The guy could not qualify Namibia so, he looks around (overlooked South Africa under his nose! angry ) and concludes that with those thieves in NFF, all he needs to do is "make some noise" and GBAM, he could offer 40% of an inflated salary, as bribe, and the job will be his own!

Hmm, see half-oyinbo wan scam us o! grin

Anyways, like others have said, Shuaibu seems mentally kolooo otherwise, what is he doing with all those tired legs, those 42yers old parading themselves and 26years? Okay, we can lie to Oyinbo about our age but can we decieve ourselves also? abi Kanu and Martins playmates (when they were like 10yrs old) have all died in Naija? Are they still not laughing their head-off each time Martins calls himself 26yrs or so? grin

Okay "Bros", no vex, l know suppose mention your name wink
Amodu will never change, he has not only run out of ideas, the expression on his face seems to suggest that he has invested his brain in "Paragaah", of recent grin

By the way, why are we so immune to common sense in this country?
What does it cost us (or at least let Glo, MTN and Eti-aba pick the bill shocked ) to say, "APPRENTICE" Siasia with "Viewer" (Prof Wenger) or with SIe Alex (Man U) for 9months, every season, to under-study them and improve skill & tactics? I mean INVEST in our own coaches?

if we've done that to Amodu since 1994 when Wester-hoof (or is it wolf) left, maybe he wouldn't be looking like a Chinese doll infected with dangerous chemicals, and playing some Grandads in ANC? P-L-E-A-S-E, there is no "short-cut" to success!

IMO, l think we should just allow Amodu to "wumble-&-fumble" his way in S.Africa (for good effects, we can allow Siasia to tag along as observer) and after the whole show, lets go back to basics and have a 4yr plan.

Like Berti Voghts, even Hiddink and Guidiola will fail with the likes of Kanu, Martins, and that over-bloated Yakubu as Striker! and Everton "kick-and-follow" Joseph Yobo as defender!! grin
Abeg, make l hear word joo, any coach who has a small reputation will not even come to Naija, where he will have to use Generator 24/7! lipsrsealed

Well, except some Belgian crooks sha.

Nuff said, I think we should just pick the under 19 boys and include only Odewingwe as their captain. Even our Keeper sef is begining to act like Mikel Obi ( some kind of misguided and imaginary Super-Star)!

Admin just DELETED TWO OF MY POSTS!

The question is: What information did l present that NEEDS to be HIDDEN from others attention?

I guess as a woman (more like a little girl, mentally) you dont want others to know the damage all that "useless single mum syndrome" does to our children, right? shocked

You can keep deleting my post, but you should know that there are alternative forums that wont descend this low
AND information can not be hidden for too long, NOT ON THE INTERNET
tongue tongue tongue

I guess you also issue a ban or "closed the topic"? huh

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Proper To Label Pastors As Crooks? by lastpage: 4:57pm On Jan 25, 2010
I have been wondering what the vehemence and spirited defense "Joagbaje" has been offering, in his lines!
I was perplexed at why this man would go on defending the indefensible, twisting scriptures and logic?

I was wondering: why is he so passionate about his foolish reasoning?
Having gone through the whole thread and read where people refer to him in "second persona", like "your Pastor", l was tempted to think the man must have been swept-off his feet by his Pastor!

But alas, the man is the real "egun" (masquerade) behind all the shakee-shakee! grin

Now, l am more than convinced THIS JOE AGBAJE is "acting like" a CROOK!

Not all Pastors are crooks, (by his fruit, we have now known him) and we have repeated this a hundred times but even a mad man knows SOME are crooks, bloody thieves that are fit for the firing squad.

Notice how JoAgbaje has deftly tried to avoid denial?
He knows we may eventually come-up with his picture or video (In this internet age!)

"JoAgbaje", l challenge you to deny YOU are not Joe Agbaje of Christ Embassy in Yenogoa and that you have nothing to do with the church in that location.
If Jonathan was at that burial and the Governor was there, NTA and newspapers will be there and we will get your picture and paste it HERE and research your location so that people who know you, including your church members, will confirm your identity.
Dont push us too far!

Kudos to you KunleOsho for exposing this fraud!

BTW: Moderator, you would have noticed that "Joagbaje" has also insulted people and called them names, here-in.

Now, if he is not the alleged Pastor JOE AGBAJE, why is he bothering reporting to you?
If he is sure he is wrongly accused, let him say so and l am sure KunleOsho will apologize, if he was wrong. I will do too.

THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED "FULL DISCLOSURE" and you are allowed to take sides after that but it is intently criminal to misrepresent who you are.
Remember he was the one who started the thread by himself!
What was his intention? To coerce more people into parting with their money?
Maybe "members" and "Sunday preaching" is not generating enough or he wants to buy his own PRIVATE JET this year grin

His pretense has just been exposed and P-L-E-A-S-E dont let him suck-up to you, it is GOD Himself that wants to expose this one!
At least, for the sake of the ignorant ones that he is deceiving!

Some of those supporting this rape on poor people are either Pastors, Pastor in training or one of those who benefit from the lucre!

"A 2008 study led by Georgia State University economist Benjamin Scafidi found that single mothers -- unwed or divorced -- cost the US taxpayer $112 billion every year." -- P.51

"A Cornell University study found that unwed mothers are 30 percent less likely to marry than other single women, " -- P.70

These are results of research and statistical analysis so, no one should "crucify the messanger" but you are free to criticaly analyze the result and rebuff it, if you have superior FACTS or arguments.
Now, NOT ALL SINGLE MOTHERS ARE BAD, some even have no choice, with a drunkard or an abuser for a husband! In some cases, its the man that left, for some reasons, rightly or wrongly!

The unenviable ones are those who turn "single parenthood" into a kind of FAD, especially in the western world where their is "financial incentive" for being a single mother! We all know about "Single Parent Allowance" now or dont we? grin

My thrust is that if possible, we should all avoid single parenting like a plague, which it is, by doing everything possible to keep the family intact.
but then, "westernization and divorce-for-free lawyers" no go gree-us

According to Wikipe@dia
"With the majority of the prison population being men, "women are left in free society to raise families and contend with ex-prisoners returning home after release."[4] Children raised in single-parent homes are less supervised which leads to less emphasis on education and self-determination. The result of this situation is that society is damaged and has to take on the financial burden of children growing up in crime ridden neighborhoods and going to prison. When a family member is arrested, the family loses not only that person's income, but also acquire additional expenses involved in keeping contact with the incarcerated family member.[3] Mothers then have to leave the home and children behind to take on more jobs in order to provide the basic needs for the family. As a result, the children are left behind to fend for themselves and get involved with the wrong people who will guide them down the path that their incarcerated family member went down."

Now hear this:
Ann Coutler is American renowned Author. In her book Guilty: Liberals Victims and their Assault on America", l quote:

""Here is the lottery ticket that single mothers are handing their innocent children by choosing to raise them without fathers: Controlling for socioeconomic status, race, and place of residence, the strongest predictor of whether a person will end up in prison is that he was raised by a single parent.
By 1996, 70 percent of inmates in state juvenile detention centers serving long-term sentences were raised by single mothers. Seventy-two percent of juvenile murderers and 60 percent of rapists come from single-mother homes.

70% of teenage births, dropouts, suicides, runaways, juvenile delinquents, and child murderers involve children raised by single mothers. Girls raised without fathers are more sexually promiscuous and more likely to end up divorced.
A 1990 study by the Progressive Policy Institute showed that after controlling for single motherhood, the difference between black and white crime rates disappeared.

Various studies have come up with slightly different numbers, but all the figures are grim. According to the Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, children from single-parent families account for 63 percent of all youth suicides, 70 percent of all teenage pregnancies, 71 percent of all adolescent chemical/substance abuse, 80 percent of all prison inmates, and 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children.

A study cited in the Village Voice produced similar numbers.
It found that children brought up in single-mother homes 'are five times more likely to commit suicide, nine times more likely to drop out of high school, 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances, 14 times more likely to commit despoil (for the boys), 20 times more likely to end up in prison, and 32 times more likely to run away from home.'
Single motherhood is like a farm team for future criminals and social outcasts.

, Many of these studies, for example, are from the 1990s, when the percentage of teenagers raised by single parents was lower than it is today. In 1990, 28 percent of children under eighteen were being raised in one-parent homes (mother or father), and 71 percent were being raised in two-parent homes. By 2005, more than one-third of all babies born in the United States were illegitimate. That's a lot of social problems coming.

Imagine an America with 70 percent fewer juvenile delinquents, 70 percent fewer teenage births, 63 to 70 percent fewer teenage suicides, and 70 percent to 90 percent fewer runaways and you will appreciate what the sainted single mothers have accomplished." -- P.37-38

You will note that we do not read about adopted children filling up the prisons, welfare rolls, and runaway shelters. Adopted children are no worse off -- and, indeed, are generally better off -- than non-adopted children." -- P.43
