Before subsidy removal, Nasarawa was receiving ₦4.3 billion monthly federal allocation. After subsidy removal, Nasarawa is receiving ₦12.3 billion monthly. Enugu's monthly allocation went from ₦3.4 billion monthly to ₦6.7 billion. This year, the thirty states are projected to receive ₦5.6 trillion. Last year, they got ₦3.3 trillion. And their wage bill has not increased. It remains the same. In addition to this, their Internally Generated Revenue has also increased. Their VAT revenue has also risen. If not for the heavy foreign debt that some states are owing and which the Federal Government deducted from source, their federal allocation may even have quadrupled!

So tell me, why should you be facing economic hardship when your Governor receives double the allocation he used to receive? Why is the Nigerian Labour Congress not protesting against them? What has your state government done to alleviate your poverty? Why is it only Tinubu you are facing, and leaving your Governor? At least Tinubu is paying ₦35,000 wage support to federal employees. What is your Governor paying?

We will face Tinubu head-on in 2027. If Nigerians vote for us in the Peoples Democratic Party, we can replace him with our candidate. But for now, I personally believe he is doing the right thing with fuel subsidy removal and Naira flotation. You, too, do your part and #GrowNairaBuyNaija

STRONG ASSURANCE FROM THIS GOVERNMENT

Just yesterday, I have been at Abuja on the invitation of the President and some members of his team. It was resolved that ;

- with hope and strong resolve by the government and the people things will surely change *if only our people will be a bit patient with the government*
- the CBN Governor Mr Yemi Cardoso declared that with all that have been put into place dollar will surely crash naturally if only the black marketers are put in check.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE IN OGUN STATE

We are not only Gateway state by mouth, we have the best intelligent, resourceful and articulate brains in the country , therefore as your duely elected Governor we met with some stakeholders and came out with these just last week:

- All students in higher institutions across the country who are from Ogun State will be given fifty thousand naira each to cushion the effect of their increased tution fee

- all the primary and secondary school students in the state will be given ten thousand naira each

- all our primary and secondary school students will enjoy at least five exercise books

- all our elderly men and women to enjoy FREE HEALTH CARE from all our health institutions across the state

- all pregnant women to enjoy free health care and to be given five thousand naira after delivery

- having realized that the past governments and this present administration are owing Ogun State workers over #6billion of unpaid deductions we have therefore resolved that starting from this month of February, we shall be paying #500million to offset this deduction owed our civil servants

- our government have been paying ten thousand naira to cushion the effect of transportation cost of our civil servants in the last 8 months, this government will continue with this

- From tomorrow Thursday, 100 trailer loads of rice will arrive the state some of which will be given freely to the aged while the rest will be sold at a controlled price of how much a bag of rice was been sold before the soaring prices of food item started

- we are launching electric okada and tricycles to reduce transport fare by 30-40%

MY PLEA TO YOU AS MY PEOPLE

Let us be tolerant and patient with this government. Let us not join any group of those who are hellbent at destroying this administration. We can't pretend as a government that all is well, we are aware of the hardship but we should not be an agent of sabotage to thwart and tarnish this administration's image and effort .

Between 2010 and 2014, there was a Nigerian President who came to power by an act of God, there was a sign of hope, I saw Nigeria flourishing as represented by its green colours, I saw a future in Nigeria but then he had some saboteurs who where committing all forms of financial atrocities in his government yet 99% of Nigerians were happier and food was very much affordable but some devil's incarnates who together with their fraudulent so called men of God decided it was time to take him out so that they can have the free will to plunge Nigeria into its present hardship, so many of you here supported that movement. Exchange rate was about 160 something nara likewise the price of fuel was about 95 naira yet so many of you were used to achieve that evil agenda. Today, so many of you that supported the agenda are no more, some can't feed their families, some, their salaries can no longer afford the minor food stuffs in the market, some, their children no longer go to school. Those So called men of God can no longer protest or occupy Nigeria, they have now gone blind, deaf and dumb yet still defrauding some gullible Nigerians with unbiblical prayers. Today, Nigeria has a reason for those things they protested against few years ago but nobody cares anymore and the so called influencers and men of God are now too weak to speak out rather everyone is talking about being patient, same patient they never gave that man all in the name of tribe and religion. PoliticsRe: Shaibu: PDP Will Lose Edo State If They Don’t Accept Me As Candidate by LEGALSER: 6:17am On Feb 24, 2024
Kuginzi:
By Donatus Anichukwueze

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that failure to accept him as its candidate in the State governorship election will spell doom for the party in the state.

Asue Ighodalo won the PDP primary at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Thursday; Philip Shaibu won the parallel election at a different venue.

Speaking on the development on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Shuaibu maintained that he is the authentic candidate of the party for the September 21 election, saying that Edo people do not want Ighodalo whom he said is not homeboy.

“The option is for the PDP not to go and argue against my candidacy, if they do that PDP will lose Edo State. Edo people do not want Asue Ighodalo to be the governor of Edo State because he is not a homeboy they know.

“They are looking for someone that they know, somebody they can feel, somebody they can touch. PDP has a date with history, delegates have spoken that they want Shuaibu and I can bet you that the other eight aspirants will support Shuaibu if they party back him.

"If the party decides to join us in court to argue for Ighodalo then PDP then winning Edo State for PDP will be shaky because Asue will not be accepted by the people,” Shaibu said.

The deputy governor faulted the primary that produced Ighodalo, saying that it was organised by the state party executive instead of the national executive of the party.

He claimed that members of the state executive and the governor are supporters of Ighodalo and therefore were not going to conduct an unbiased election.

Shaibu insisted that he was elected by the authentic delegates of the party in the state.

“I was elected by the authentic delegates, what is key is who are those that elected the governor’s preferred candidate Asue and who are those that elected Philip Shaibu? I think in the coming days we will know who among them are authentic,” he said.

Shaibu also said his relationship with Governor Godwin Obaseki is not the best at the moment, suggesting that his governorship ambition could be the reason behind the strained relationship with the governor.

” My relationship with the governor(Obaseki) is not cordial…I have tried calling him and he doesn’t pick up my calls. I greet him at public functions and he doesn’t answer me.

Not Worried About Shaibu’
Meanwhile, Ighodalo, who emerged as the candidate in the other primary on Thursday, said he is not worried about the emergence of Shaibu as a parallel flagbearer for the party.

Despite the seeming confusion, Ighodalo is not bothered, hinging his resolve on the law.

“We went through the proper process. I’m not worried about Philip Shaibu’s emergence as a parallel candidate,” he said on Thursday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today hours after his declaration as the winner of the exercise.

“The National Working Committee (NWC) did everything in accordance with the rule of law. From what I have seen, due process was followed. That some people did not agree with it does not mean it is not the right process.”

Ighodalo, a financial expert, beat nine other aspirants to emerge as the PDP candidate for the September 24 election in the South-South state.

I have said it time and again. This current government does not have a good Minister of Information.

This current administration is well dressed but its standing in a dark room. (A lot of people cant see the nice clothes if the Minister doesn't turn on the light)

Minister of Information needs to highlight the journey and sell Hope to Nigerians.

Lai Mohammed defended Buhari's regime to the last at the expense of his reputation and clashed with Nigerians many times.

The current minister takes a Hands off approach. He needs to wake up and start engaging Nigerians, He needs to bring information before questions are asked, He needs to engage Nigerians so much they are tired of asking questions, He needs to get bloggers and media to tweet and post the good things done, those in the pipeline and those anticipated in the future.

Nigerians will eventually call the Minister a liar, but that comes with the Job. You cannot please everybody.

He has one of the most difficult jobs that can make or destroy this administration. Tell your Minister to wake up, the world is now digital. Go to Nollywood, cast stories that will depict what has been happening in Nigeria and changes made for better results, let the citizens know why there will be pain before things improve.

PropertiesRe: Urgent! Should I Allow My Tenant Bury Her 1 Year Old Daughter In My Compound? by LEGALSER: 8:35am On Feb 21, 2024
DSS1335:
A very good young woman whom her husband abandoned last year lost her 1 year old child this morning. They jovial baby was very healthy on Sunday, by Monday morning, the baby was suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. According to the mum, she was prescribed pediatric antibiotic Amoxicillin along with antimalarial (Lonart susp), paracetamol syrup and Rophegan. I was alarmed on why she gave her child Rophegan 5ml, normally this antiemetic drug is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Unfortunately this early morning the child was gasping for breath while crying loudly and died few hours later.

The issue now is that she is from far away east. She doesn't want to travel home. I have a very large space in my compound, and want to bury the child there. I consulted my kins, they objected it that I should never allow such to happen that it's against our tradition. That a child should be buried in his father's home or public cemetery. This tenant have already made up her mind to Park out few months after her rent expires due to the scandals of separating from her husband. Should I go ahead and allow her or alternatively raise funds for her to travel to the east to bury the child there. Though she isn't forthcoming with my alternative.

N/B
I am of Rivers state, Ikwerre to be precise, the lady from Umuahia

Update:
The mother of the lady came late in the afternoon from Abia state and pleaded I should allow them bury the baby in my compound. After considering some notable advice from here coupled with the warning from my kinsmen, I declined. The lady's mother contacted their branch pastor and they made arrangements to bury her in a place provided by their church. Later this evening the woman came back insulting my family that we are very wicked for not allowing their baby to be buried in my compound.
If not for the sympathy I had for the mother mourning her loss, I would have lost my cool.
This was the same woman responsible for the breakdown of her daughter's marriage. After marriage, she came to live with the new couple who parked into my apartment newly. Instigating her daughter against her husband. Using her daughter as a proxy to siphon off her husband's wealth, a Dubai-based businessman. Controlling the man forcefully, preventing him from socializing with others because of her insecurity complexes. The last straw that broke the marriage was when the lady and her mother teamed up to lock the husband indoors for 4 days and transferred all his money to the wife's account. That whenever he needs his own money, he should tell the wife. In short, the marriage broke down irreconcilably and the husband relocated to another state and never came back, he was neither interested in the child that was born 3 months after nor care to inquire about their wellbeing
Dear men, always pray and open your eyes when getting married. Not just on the woman oooo but also her family. Things dey happen ooh

PoliticsRe: This Court Of Appeal Judge Is Destroying The Reputation Of Nigeria's Judiciary by LEGALSER: 9:01am On Feb 10, 2024
ShoeGetSize:
Meet the 7th President of the Nigerian Court of Appeal. Her name is Justice Monica Dongban Mensem and she comes from Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.

https://www.hostpic.org/images/2402091632380098.jpg

Someone else who comes from Shendam Local Government Area is the recent two term APC Governor of the Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong.

Lalong initially came into the spotlight as the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a time when it was fashionable to be a PDP member in Nigeria.

In 2015, Simon Lalong decamped from the PDP and joined the newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC). He would later contest for the post of Governor which he won and ended up serving two terms from 2015 to 2023.

At this stage, you may be wondering, What is the connection between Justice Monica Dongban Mensem and Simon Lalong apart from the fact that they come from the same home town? Be patient because the answer to your question is coming.

Two days before her 63rd birthday, on 11 June 2020, Justice Dongbam-Mensem became the seventh President of the Court of Appeal and only the second woman to hold the powerful position.

At that time, the governor of the state Simon Bako Lalong, like Justice Monica Dongbam-Mensem is a lawyer, and just like her, he also hails from Shendam Local Government Area.

Shendam is in the Central Senatorial Zone of the Plateau State.

The following year, after her elevation to the post of President of the Court of Appeal, the Governor of her state Mr Simon Lalong appointed Justice Monica Dongban Mensem’s daughter, Buetnaan Mandy Dongban Bassi, as a judge of the High Court of Plateau State.

The governor did this even though there was a clear conflict of interest as her mother sat on the National Judicial Council (NJC) which approved her appointment. Two years later, in September 2023, the same NJC of which Justice Monica is a prominent member also appointed her daughter's husband, MR PAUL BUETNAAN who is her son-in-law, to the Court of Appeal.

But the story gets even spicier from here onwards.

After serving his constitutionally mandated two terms of office as Governor of Plateau State, Mr Simon Lalong decided, like so many ex governors before him, to try his hand at becoming a Senator.

Remember that Shendam Local Government is the heartland of the Plateau State Central Senatorial Zone.

Remember also that both the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica and former Governor Simon Lalong both hail from Shendam Local Government.

Remember finally that while he was the APC governor of Plateau State, former Governor Simon Lalong appointed Jutsice Monica's daughter and son in law to juicy positions in both state and federal judiciaries in spite of the serious ethical concerns raised by these appointments.

In order to become the Senator from the Plateau Central Senatorial District, former Governor Lalong would have to defeat the incumbent holder of the position, Senator Napoleon Bali of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Elections.

So you may ask, how did our "hero" fare in the elections?

The answer is that he was soundly defeated by his opponent and he had no other option than to rush to the election tribunal to contest his one sided defeat.

Unfortunately for him, he lost once more at the election tribunal and now his situation was looking bleak so he decided to pull his trump card.

In Nigeria, appeals against the decisions of election tribunals with respect to Senatorial seats go to the Court of Appeal and the Court of Appeal is the final court, unlike election tribunal disputes relating to governorships where the Supreme Court is the final court.

Also, when it comes to Court of Appeal's jurisdiction to hear appeals over electoral disputes arising out of elections for a Senatorial Seat, the President of the Court of Appeal has the exclusive power to pick the 3 justices who will preside over the appeal.

As the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban Mensem appointed three of her fellow court of appeal justices to preside over the electoral dispute which arose from the Plateau State Central Senatorial District:

1. Justice Oluwayemisi Williams-Dawodu

2. Justice Abdulaziz Waziri,

3. Justice Okon Abang

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, these 3 justices overturned the election and the decision of the tribunal upholding the election and returned Simon Lalong as the winner of the election in which he had been roundly defeated.

Lalong was one beneficiary among many from a judicial hit-list methodically compiled by the Court of Appeal in Monica Dongban-Mensem’s home state. By the time its demolition job was over, the Court had sacked two PDP Senators from the state and five members of the House of Representatives elected on the PDP ticket.

In fact in the entire 25-member state House of Assembly, the Court of Appeal removed 16 members elected on the platform of the PDP, handing their seats and control of the state parliament – with malice aforethought – to the APC.

In all these cases, the Court claimed that the PDP should not have fielded candidates. Their reasoning overruled a long line of Supreme Court decisions. This was not a mistake; it was judicial malpractice on a very corrupt scale. At the minimum, the panel should have been called to order when they issued the first decision. But Monica Dongban Mensem who sent them there was getting what she wanted.

Instead, inebriated with hubris from the corrupt demolition job they accomplished in Jos, one of the members of the panel, Justice Abdulaziz Waziri, traveled to Yola in Adamawa State last December to celebrate the mandates they had laid to waste, claiming that the PDP “had no structures on the ground at the point they were presenting their candidates.” He alone could explain what he meant.

This was a judicial hatchet job. Any claim that the President of the Court of Appeal was not herself a member of the Panel is laughable.

Such is the state of the judiciary in Nigeria at this time that the three-person panel whom Monica Dongban-Mensem sent to Plateau State could not have wrought that amount of destruction without her active consent, if not instruction. It is simply inconceivable that a Justice of Appeal, like Okon Abang – sworn in only in October 2023 – could have gone to the home state of the President of the Court to confidently wreak so much political damage without her explicit instruction.

On the 12th of January 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that the Court of Appeal in Plateau was rogue, procured and perverse. It set aside the reasoning of the Court, which denied the people their chosen representatives. But because the Court of Appeal is the final court in these matters, the decision of the Supreme Court is no remedy for the political ruin procured under the baleful influence of Monica Dongban-Mensem.

The ruin caused and supervised by this President of the Court of Appeal is incalculable.

The legislators whose mandates she has stolen are entitled to feel done over.

The people of the Plateau whose will she has ruined are entitled to feel cheated.

She and her cohort of carefully selected judicial mobsters have brought the judiciary into irreparable disrepute.
Nigeria Judiciary is filled with corrupt individuals from chairmen of customary courts to the Justices of the Supreme Court. There's no more integrity because even the manner in which they got there wasn't by merit So they do whatever to please their masters. I always pity some politicians who think they can reclaim their mandates from the judiciary. There's no single person with integrity in the judiciary anymore.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Boss Poured A Glass Of Beer On Me, What Should I Do? by LEGALSER: 10:51pm On Feb 08, 2024
Standstrong:
I'm being seriously abuse at my current place of work by my boss.

I work in a hotel, one day in, one day out.

I started working there October last year, and I received the October salary ending of November after so much deductions that took almost 40% of what supposed to the salary. I received November salary middle of December (same thing) and since then, no payment again. We are in February and I have needs for the money.

Just in case he had forgotten, I earlier on reminded him of December salary and he didn't say a thing.

Due to my exposure in the hotel, over time, I'm experiencing some negative changes on my health.

At the close of work, I have no where else to sleep than to prepare a place at the open bar and that is where I sleep.

Cool air and mosquitoes deal with me to no small measure. As a result, I have been sick of constant malaria/typhoid and apparently, cold.

The cold part is evident at the constant chest pain and difficulty in breathing I have and sometimes I'm almost down completely due to it. I can't even carry myself to do what I'm supposed to do due to serious chest pains.

With all the symptoms of bad health, I need to visit hospital for care. So last week, knowing he was about to travel, I went to remind him of my salary so I can visit hospital. Since I know he's someone with anger issue, first, I pleaded he shouldn't be mad at me for approaching him concerning the matter. So he pretended to be calm but the moment I mentioned my salary, he went mad and emptied the whole glass of beer he was drinking on me, not minding the white shirt I was putting on.

Not just doing that, he stood up violently as though he wanted to slap me (have done that before) and that was when I shifted away from the place, with my whole body in mess.

The following day, he travelled. I thought he was going to pay me (even pay off) before traveling but he didn't.

With all the abuse and more going on in the place, I want to stop the work even though I have nothing else at hand now.

Some people are saying I should stop the work forthwith and "treat his f"up", but I don't understand what that means and I'm not ready for anything violence or will lead to someone else.

I just want to get my 2 months+ salary immediately so I can go to the hospital and check my health. I know how I am feeling inside me and life is only one. He can keep his job with abuse.

Na poverty and unemployment cause am.

How much is even the salary? Upon all the suffering in the place?

Please what is the best thing for me to do now?

Note: "treating his fk'up" is no option at all.

Please advice me
My ex husband and I are divorced 2 years ago. He recently acquired an European citizenship, he also wants to extend the citizenship to our son. Though I thought it a good idea but I can't shake the feeling that he is trying to use that to take him away from me.
He told me our son will need to come over there to finish the process of his citizenship. But when I went to submit the "application" what I saw on it is different from what he told me. The paper read that I am consenting to my son to go and reunite with his father. Or is that the way they process it?
Please those that have gone through same should please come to my aid, this is my only child and I can't afford to lose my child this way.
Your child? Is he not his child as well? Please don't use this your mentality to deprive your son a better life please.

I recently applied to work in an organisation.

After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.

When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question;
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?

I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.

I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.

Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.

Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.

I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.

Anyone with this experience? Please console me.
