I will suggest that Sia 1 should stick to the formation he used in the first leg ....I foresee the Egyptian playing more of a defensive style .
I am afraid , Onazi ,maybe careless in that match with his reckless tackle . Let's Etebo play the box-box role he has an eye for goal.... |

TheSuperNerd: This shall surely apply to the other groups. The teams who finish last in the other groups will have their results taken out of the final equation.
This is to ensure fairness to Nigeria's group.
But with or without this announcement, I'VE ALWAYS MAINTAINED WE'RE GOING FOR A WIN AND THE PLAYERS KNOW THAT. SO IT BOTHERS ME NOT. And bear in mind that their will be no best loser in our group . |

xtervaganza: alaye, you compared him to Jay Jay and went ahead to say an unknown rookie who hasn't proven himself anywhere is the number 10 we are looking for
And who lied to you you can study natural talent? You can model your style of play if you have the talent naturally
But if you don t have it you can never have it even if Maradona and Pele mix sp€rm born you Can you mention exceptionally gifted footballers you know that did'nt understudy some of their predecessors . Just few . |

Iwobi who's still a rookie without 20 pro appearances to his name is being compared to Jay Jay by you?
Na wa ooo Read that line very well , I am not comparing him to jay jay but I said the pass he made look one of jay jay passes ....don't forget he's jay jay's Nephew , he must have learnt a lot from the big bro .and I know for sure he has been under studying jay jay for a very long time . |

Emmanuel Daniel is reliable ,dependable and I think. We have good hands in every department ....1996 will repeat it self . Another Gold medal loading , the most interesting thing is that ,the future of the super eagles solely depends on this team . |

Icon4s: Jarus i totally disagree with ur rating for most of d starting 11.
Carl Ikeme deserves more than ur rating.I rate him 7/10 Ambrose did better than what u rated him. I give him 6/10. Obaobona though was nt much involved bt he hardly did anything wrong. a 5/10 would have done for him. Simon Moses was really d best player on d pitch today u gave him 5/10?. I rate him 7.5/10 It's was the dm that made the defense look as if they worked , the few number of times the Egyptian penetrated u saw the lapses of Ambrose , he's a very experience defender yet he played like one amateur , In modern football as a defender when u launch an attack your final touches must be excellent , not touches that will create havoc for the team .don't let us celebrate mediocre, he does 't deserve more than a 2/10 I think Jsrus was generous . We all saw this coming when injury struck 2 of the back line . Kudos to the guys in the attack for making our defense experienced little impact . |
Sports › Re: Player Rating: Nigeria Vs Egypt by lexyman(m): 7:53pm On Mar 25, 2016*. Modified: 8:47pm On Mar 25, 2016 |
Ambrose doesn't deserve a 4.5 please ,change it to 2/10 , he made some funny runs and loses the ball to the pharaohs so easily . I don't see him as a good addition to the team . We need a better leg .
If they put up the same performance in the attack in the second leg we will have a win in Alexandria ....I know the Egyptian will come out to attack on their home soil ..it will give us room to hit them.
My man of the match goes to Mikel ....he silence the Egyptian in the midfield ....if not for miscommunication between other team mates , he would have setup d wingers in a very deadly and fruitful attack .
But that Iwobi pass looks jayjay-ish . He's the missing 10 we are looking for |

tbaba1234: Starting Lineup
Nigeria Starting XI against Egypt
Carl Ikeme - Shehu Abdullahi, Stanley Amuzie, Godfrey Oboabona, Efe Ambrose - Mikel Obi (Skipper), Oghenekaro Etebo, Kelechi Iheanacho - Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo
Interesting
Source: Africafootball.com I think the reason Sia 1 selected simon over victor was d ability to score free kick ,interns of spread the both have good spread and good crossing ability , even dribbles , but sometimes victor over dribbles . Nice line up though |

If Moses plays is either he score or he create assist or cause calamity that will lead to penalty |
Sports › Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by lexyman(m): 11:15am On Mar 24, 2016 |
Icon4s: Yes. We need to maximize the full potentials of our forwards. Throwing all of 4 of Simon, Moses, Musa and Ighalo from the start of the game is like hitting the ground running. Musa's ability behind a main striker was highlighted in the game between Nigeria and Argentina at the 2014 WC. He also plays that position at CSKA.
Notice I played Azubuike in front of Mikel bc of Mikel's defensive abilities. He could provide shield for our "weakened" CB positions.
In the return fixture Onazi would play DMF while Mikel goes to CM position. I m not too conversant with azuibuike's ability in the role , I hope he's mobile like Onazi , any time I see a Onazi play I remember Micheal Essien of Ghana . . But d attacking style we will play tomorrow will really help our defense line . |

Icon4s: Infact this is the most likely starting line -up. Let me set this up in a 4-4-2 formation:
.........Ikeme Abdullahi..Ambrose..Obaobona..Echiejile
............Mikel ...................Azubuike
Simon.................................Moses
...........Musa ........................Ighalo
On worries abt CB getting injured we already have 2 injured. A couple of other defenders are on the bench. Going back to "he should have invited Awaziem or Ehizubie" is now a postmortem Nice formation .i think I will go with this line up .i will keep simon if possible through out 90mins cos of his ability to score set pieces . |
Sports › Re: Victor Moses Happy With Eagles Return by lexyman(m): 10:47am On Mar 24, 2016 |

phamarsenal: am afraid for dis defence, it looks so fragile. Siasia has always been unfortunate with defense , but his attacking style will make d defense look solid ....I think the Egyptian will have their hand full ....our front line men will be too deadly for them to handle ....it's been long I see eagles played with large score line margin |

terzurum5: FIFA to trial fourth substitute at Rio 2016 Olympics and Club World Cup A fourth sub will be allowed to be made in extra-time https://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/02749/01_18205158_34802a_2749909a.jpg This year's Olympic football tournament will see teams allowed to use a fourth sub in extra-time © Getty Images
AN additional fourth substitute will be allowed in extra-time in matches played at this summer’s Rio Olympics and at the Club World Cup later in the year.
The game’s law-making body the International Football Association Board (IFAB) approved trials of an extra substitute when games go into an additional half-hour, and the executive committee of football’s world governing body has now announced plans to introduce it into a number of its competitions.
A FIFA statement read: “Following the recent decision by the IFAB to allow experimentation with a fourth substitution in extra-time, the FIFA executive committee agreed for such experiments to be conducted this year at the Olympic football tournaments, the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea and the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.” https://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/02749/02_18205158_eb7108_2749908a.jpg The fourth sub will also be trialled at the FIFA Club World Cup
The FIFA ExCo was meeting for the final time before it is replaced by the new-look FIFA Council at the organisation’s next Congress in Mexico in May.
It also supported the governing body’s efforts to reclaim funds lost due to the corrupt conduct of former FIFA members, agreed kick-off times for matches at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and approved the 2015 financial and governance report. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7012193/FIFA-to-trial-fourth-substitute-at-Rio-2016-Olympics-and-Club-World-Cup.html Fifa ....you want to try this again ? I remembered the golden goal rule that was introduced before 1996 Atlanta Olympic ... It was a sad experience for them them cos it favored the giant of Africa .... I hope the forth man substitution will not come back to hunt them ? |

swtdrms: struggled, accepted A.Madrid was beaten in that match, what happened in the following season? Barca won the trophy, that is cuz barca has trememdously improved. what has happened in the encounters btw Barca and A.Madrid since then? has A.Madrid beaten barca since then? capital No!
So, is A.Madrid likely to beat barca again judging from the encounters they've had in recent times? still NO, u guys shd just chill and drink sobo to ur life. This is the last bus stop for A.Madrid
************** edited *****************************
it was the other guy i wanted to quote, but nevertheless, if u watch this match you are talking about, Barca had won the match already before the guy was sent out, A.Madrid scored first before barca's equalizer and finally winning the match. There was nothing like struggling. Besides, Barca was suppose to have more goals, if not for lost chances.
This particular match you're talking about, if you actually watched it, you should know the type of tackles A.Madrid players were playing against Barca, dangerous tackles, there shd be more red cards. It can't get worse than that. Pls when is the first leg ? Start counting down ,I will come back and quote you . |

Did u see how barca struggled against 10men atletico ? The Atlectico team has got the needed winning mentality . I don't see barca coming back against team like atletico . In a crucial stage like this . Barcelona fan don't forget your MSN are human , they re not Robot . Goaless draw and either 1-1 , or 2:2 draw can kick u out of the competition ....Diego Simeon will not find it hard to achieve . |

TheGoodJoe:
Different coaches have different playing styles. I do not remember Coach Siasia playing with a player who holds on to the ball too long in the midfield.
In the 2005 U20, Mikel played there, utilizing his quick mind and brilliant passes to unlock the defence of the opposing teams.
In the Olympics in 2008, I do not remember Coach Siasia playing with that kind of player. In the other U20 Coach Siasia coached, Rabiu Ibrahim was not a regular.
Coach Siasia loves players that can pass the ball well. He will pick a Xavi, Scholes kind of player over an Okocha kind of player. Thegoodjoe you re been spot on! Sia one style is a typical attacking style . Playing someone that will romance the ball will kill the tempo of his style . The problem we can have is the defense line . |
