They were stranded in the US and most likely don’t live there.

They might also be running low on cash and with the current high unemployment and business closure in the US, getting even under the table job would be difficult and the US Government did not extend any palliative to them and they are not qualify to claim unemployment benefits.

Even if the cure is found, they will be second thought as they do not have primary access to medical facilities, since they may not be insured, except the emergency room, which is only possible if they were sick and maybe be too late.

Clearly by quoting rounded numbers, we know the Governor is still not telling the truth...as if when the number of deaths hit 150, it just stopped!

Apart from lockdown, what is the FG doing to fight this virus in Nigeria? Lockdowns, social distancing, etc will not eliminate this virus. These measures merely help to slow down the spread, therefore buying us time to come up with effective means of checkmating it.

Or they are just folding their hands waiting for WHO vaccines? I thought many people already vowed not to take the vaccine?

No body will be forcing anyone to take any vaccine, you don’t need everyone to take the vaccine to achieve herd immunity.

Even before the vaccine became available, with the earliest date been 2021 and a likelihood that no vaccine might come out from the various trials, many people would have gotten immunity through natural infection.

Agreed, what you forgot is that, putting someone on a ventilator is a last resort to keep them alive.

These are people whose illness has progressed to the point that they can not breath on their own and if you don’t put them on a ventilator this very minute, they will have irreparable brain damage within the next 4 minutes even after recovery and would be dead within 8 minutes.

What you mentioned have their place in treatment protocols, but will do nothing to a person who need oxygen.....so, without a ventilator that 10% that survived in the stats you quoted would have died also along with the other 90%.

When Trump mentioned Chloroquine, there was a mad rush to use it and stock up on it....now, that the US have green-light Remdesivir, we are borrowing again.

The truth is both medication have been used successfully in many parts of the world to treat covid-19 illness; you just have to adapt the right treatment protocol. Many decisions made, especially in the USA should be examined very well before been adopted, many have financial drivers that pushes them to the fore-front....Chloroquine has been around for ages, with many generic and no big name pharmaceutical to hugely benefit financially from it's sudden world-wide use, but big name pharmaceutical in the US stand to benefit and haul billions into their bank account for the use of Remdesivir (am not mentioning names, use google).

Plus, Chloroquine is far cheaper compare to Remdesivir and Chloroquine can be given in an out-patient setting and be self-administered, but for Remdesivir you have to be admitted and it is given intral-venuiosly....making it far more out of reach,

No one is forcing you to take a vaccine, take a chill pill.

Not true, it is mainly that people are scare of visiting hospitals for fears of getting in contact with the virus. People who use to go to the emergency room for a headache or a small pain are delaying it further.

If you dial your emergency service number in some of these countries were things were working before the virus, the ambulance still shows up and take you to the hospital.

Those people you mentioned were not imprisoned in an isolation center, but rather to self isolate, why are they not giving her the same option, even after staying in an isolation center for 40 days.

The very idea of isolation does not scale and I believe as cases start multiplying, it will be abandoned for self isolation. Those centers and their resources should be left for the very sick who need constant and intense care and not people who show no symptoms. Even in advanced countries with 10s of thousands of people, they don’t haul you into an isolation center when you test positive, they tell you to go self isolate and if the sickness gets unbearable to give them a call or visit the nearest hospital.

They should allow her to go with requirement to self isolate.....very soon that is what they will start telling everyone who test positive anyway as there will not be enough isolation facility to go round.

A test was carried out which shows she was positive but she referred to the test as kangaroo test, the banue state government took her all the way from the state capotal to Abuja in an ambulance with a team of health workers. the minister gave her one on one audience despite his tight schedule and when she demanded for a copy of the test, it was made available to her, yet she didn't want to listen, all she wants is to be freed into the society. Two different doctors approached her for treatment, she turned them down claiming she doesn't have any symptom of COVID-19. Now she is talking about being abandoned and not given treatment. If she feels because she returned from outside the country that everyone should dance to her tune, she is joking.

COVID-19 does not have any cure, any treatment been administer today is to suppress the symptoms thereby giving the body the chance to fight the disease on it’s own.

Even if she tested positive initially, normally she should have been let go after 14 days isolation, treatment or no treatment. It appear she is been punished, because she turned down their treatment.

I have never heard where someone is locked down for 39 days and counting for COVID-19.
