Harllaby:How bad were for the lady to so not want their unborn baby to emulate your characters? Better go look for that lady and sue her for defamation of character. |
Amujale:But, who say WHO not? There multiple parallel covid-19 vaccine trials going on currently in many countries, WHO’s is just a fraction of that. Phase one human trials have started in NY & Boston, which are unrelated to WHO’s vaccine efforts, Germany, France and all these other countries have their going on....they are not waiting for WHO, but are even competing with it. |
Quietly:Bros 4 4 2 is a defensive formation, I don’t like it. We should be on offense against the thing, not defending our progress. Don’t even talk about 5 4 1, that is worst.....we might as well play 10 0 0....because that will be the next formation afterwards. |
Amujale:Totally agreed, but if WHO is suspend will that solved the covid-19 issued? Or.....will that prevent another pandemic? Agreed, we totally need to start doing these thing in-house in Nigeria, in some sense maybe suspending WHO will jolt our leaders into action, but brothers.....many many people go die oh! Though one thing that is helping Africa is our high temperature, which is God given....and poor electric supply is also a helper is disguise; because these conditions make the covid-19 virus to have a shorten lifespan outside a host...thereby reducing infection. Look at it, Germany, France are complaining bitterly and no one is listening that US is diverting their supplies, sometimes intersecting then on the tarmac and outbidding them to get those medical supplies....they are also complaining that US is luring their vaccine researchers to pack up shops and relocate to the US. If those countries are fighting hard against the US, think of the shape Africa will be in, if WHO sidelined. WHO is currently our only linkage. |
Amujale:Bros, WHO is not your problem; it is the people you elected to lead you that are collecting money from WHO and vaccine makers to use you as guinea pigs for these vaccines. These testers don’t sneak in by night to conduct their test and they don’t hide in secret to do it. Even after the blowback from the French doctors discussing about using Africa as guinea pig for one of the covid-19 vaccine tracks, one Africa country President came up publicly and said he has agreed for the vaccine to be tested in his country. It is not only WHO that test vaccines, as long as there are still greedy Africa leaders, Africa will remain the testing ground. |
OZAOEKPE:WHO does not have a crystal ball, they work with in-country partners. They have their offices in Nigeria and all over the world and they were relying on the information given to them at that time. If your stove catch fire and your neighbor call fire service and fire service come call you, but you come lie tell dem say na onions you dey fry....they will take it from you. Moreso true true when they drove by your house, there was no evidence of a fire.....and that is the best information the fire services have at that time and that is what they will disseminate. But if they received more reports and make another drive through and start seeing smoke coming out from your window and you are still telling them that, it is the onions that you are frying, they are going to alert the world and start making shit to happen. Trump and US CDC botched the process from start, WHO was only behind the A-ball by about a week, but they started acting immediately they knew and developed testing kits, while Trump & CDC were calling it a hoax and Trump shipping PPE materials and masks to China....even when the shit started hitting the fans in the US...instead of CDC to use the testing kits already produced by WHO, they say NO and went ahead to develop theirs in a hurry, sent it to the field and the thing started failing, CDC have to go back to square one....that dance alone around the test kits, set America back by one month compare to, if they had taken the WHO’s kit that everyone else is using and run with it. Trump is looking for a scapegoating to blaming, because he has started feeling the heat of his initial in actions and his poll numbers have started drifting downward, so they have to get a diversion and who to blame it on....remember Trump said, he does not take responsibility. |
UncleJudax:Bros, let’s be sincere....we do not have a President in Nigeria. I doubt if things would have been any worst if Aso Rock is devoid of an occupant.....Decisions that Trump makes affect ordinary Nigerians positively or negatively than anything PMB will ever do, therefore in that sense he is our President. |
madridguy:Bros....na person wey go survive fit check if him head correct or not. If WHO is suspended, Africa will be in a long one. But, I doubt if Trump can do it though, Congress has already allocated the money. His main purpose of doing it is to create the narrative that WHO did not take action on time to deflect the heat he is now getting in the US for downplaying the pandemic for the whole February and calling it a hoax. |
Ayoefa:A family does not get $1,200.00, that amount is for a single individual and a single unmarried individual can live in a studio. A family, e.g. a couple gets $2,400.00, and additional $500 for each dependent. Yes, Manhattan is the financial capital of the world, but there are zones and rent control measures all over the city to ensure that not only the rich can live in Manhattan and $2,400/month is enough rent money in some Manhattan districts. Remember that, this is just money the government is ‘dashing’ their citizens. You are still working and before this stimulus, you were paying that rent by yourself. In addition the government have guarantee that, if you loss your job during this pandemic or as a result, they will attempt to match your current salary when you file unemployment. Previously unemployment payment only last for six months, the government said, they are expanding that as well. See below screenshot of average rent is a few districts within Manhattan....Remember this is Manhattan and most people who work in Manhattan don’t live in Manhattan they either live in the other four boroughs surrounding Manhattan which are part of New York City or they live in NJ, PA or CT....where rent are far cheaper compare to Manhattan borough.
|
softset:I feel you and understand completely. Also note that, this is just one source of stimulus....I have seen lots of people filing unemployment and citing their fears to go to work due to Coronavirus or their work getting eliminated as a result. Buried in the stimulus bill passed by Congress, the government will attempt to match your unemployment check to the salary you were receiving before at work....also the duration of the unemployment has been expanded. |
Ayoefa:Rent and prices are public info, that amount can get you a decent studio or one room apartment in any of those cities you have mentioned. In Ghetto, you need lower than that. Use google to search studio or apartments for rent in those cities. Yes, many people in Manhattan are waiting on that stimulus money. Manhattan have rent control laws that make mandatory for certain number of housing units to be made available for low income people. |
ofemigeorge:Not true.... It is only some Governors that are pleading with Lardlords to defer rents for their tenants. It is a pleading....does not mean landlords are under any obligation to oblige. Paying your rent or mortgage is a private contract between you and your landlord, the government cannot come in and force the landlord not go collect....the only thing those Governors are doing is pass EO to tell the courts not to accept evictions or foreclosures for about two months...since the landlords must go through the courts to evict someone that EO will tie their hands....but after those two months, make sure you are ready with three months rent, else landlords wey eyes dey red will throw you into the streets. |
Ayoefa:@softset. Though it depends on where you are living and the type of house/apartment and note the $1,200.00 is per individual, for couples I believe it doubles then add $500 per dependent...though all these are phased out at certain income level. I would say, for an individual, $1,200.00 is more than enough on average for rent in the US unless you are renting a luxury apartment in Manhattan . My premises is, for an individual a studio apartment is more than enough for you....you don’t need one or two bedroom and that money is enough for a studio. For a couple you guys get double that amount, which should be okay for a one/two bedrooms, then if you have kids the additional $500 added will get you a three bedroom. |
immaq8:Not true in all cases. Some communities found out that, men have been using this to hold women down by making themselves perpetually unavailable to collect the bride price. So in many communities, the woman only need to return the bride price to the traditional ruler of their community e.g. the King, the King’s messengers will then contact the man to come to the palace to pickup his bride price...irrespective of if he picks it or not, the marriage is dissolved according to native laws & customs. The funny thing is, in one of the communities that am aware of, the bride price is like N3,000.00. Even if the man spent N20 million, the most important money is that N3,000.00, the N20 million was just a support or accessory...so, the lady will only return the N3k to dissolve the marriage. |
khiaa:No pun intended, African Americans loves fast food, especially fried chicken. That is why there is a greater concentration of fast food places in their neighborhood compare to others. Yes, the medical un-insurance rate is higher. Yes there is Medicaid, but it is tied to income. You must be working and can prove certain income before you are eligible unless you fall under the many exception categories eg pregnant, disability, children, etc. Check out a typical AA Neighborhood, many are employed on the streets, so they can’t show income. Many that work makes ‘too much’ and as such they don’t quality. The average cut off for a family of two is about $23k/yearly, that is roughly about $11.00/hr job. With that income so low, many have a second job; and with a wage at $10/hr for two jobs, they found themselves not qualified for Medicaid....and marketplace insurance is very expensive with high co-pays & co-insurance. My comments about emergency room access is accurate, if you don’t have medical insurance you wouldn’t have a primary care doctor for regular checkups, the second best is community healthcare centers, but they are over crowded, the services are not that great and they are not free....so, what most people do is to visit the emergency room when the illness reached a critical mass, because that is the only place you can get treated first, before they ask for money....well, if you can pay, there is charity help and the worst case, you tell the hospital to go hug transformer. |
gypsey:In the UK unlike the US, there is healthcare for all, so everyone have access to take care of their underlying conditions. Blacks in the US only have access to the emergency room and when that happens, it is rather too late. Also, because income inequality, blacks tend to eat poor quality food; it make absolute sense to buy a bucket of fried chicken that will feed the whole family, than some pounds of broccoli which is more healthier. Years of accumulation of these decisions leads to underlying health condition and with no access to healthcare, they start nursing these condition until a disaster like this happens. |
Okuda:You will lose, Biden is not going to pick Hillary.......In 2016, Biden wanted to run, being the VP to Obama....but given the bitter primary rivalry between Obama and Hillary, there was an agreement for Hillary to run after Obama and Obama committed in supporting her. Hillary was not the best candidate then and the DNC had to bend lots of rules and activities to favor Hillary, so she can win the nomination...DNC chair had to resign, when some of these came to light. So, Hillary is done with Politics....even if she wants, she will not be chosen, and she does not want it and she is not asking for it. Bernie is good, but he is too to the left to win in America politics of today.....Biden is the best candidate and is a compromise candidate for the Democrats, they would have preferred Warren, but she is too to the left, but on the right of Bernie. Many here commenting on America politics does not know much about it. Lots of modeling have been done, with America politics....If you take a tabulation of America today, there are little to very few swing voters such that, and as such their influence on the election are becoming very negligible. What you have in America are demography of voters e.g. women, black women, white women, men, white men, black men, young voters, first time voters, seniors, graduate voters, blue collar voters, etc.....each of these groups reliably vote for either GOP or Dem irrespective of the candidate, very few sway away due to the candidate...so elections boils down to the ability of each party to target their core voters and get them to the polls and also ensure that those votes counts....the party that is successful in targeting her core voters will win. Right now Biden have an edge, but as things settles, and there is first debate and also depending on how the covid-19 narrative is cast, then we will start seeing the demography that would be engaged and truly come out to vote.....Americans are known to have a short attention span, but this covid-19 happening very close to the election and may still linger till election will be memorable. |
Ijawwomaninoyo:Not true, the fact that people do it does not make it legal. The right to an image remains with the creator unless they gave up such rights and it does not matter if you saw the pictures on google search....in fact google put disclaimers on those pictures if you read the fine prints. Same way, if someone lost 10k on the public street, you then found it and spend it. If they trace the money to you, your defense of ‘picking it from the public street’ will hold no water in court. |
kiyosaki1:Far easier to survive in Nigeria than in the US, if you are undocumented and have no work. With the current pandemic and various orders to stay at home, undocumented immigrants are finding it hard to cop abroad. Despite the fact that you are not working, landlord still expect his or her rent at the end of the month and failure to pay means eviction....plus with the Trump presidency, the worst case is to be picked up by ICE and thrown into a jail where the chances of contracting the disease are higher.....so, given those odds, the chance of a free ride back to Nigeria with a few platitudes from the FG on arrival or at the end of the 14 days quarantine sounds very appealing. |
nabiz:If you think, you are going to see them at your local hospital, keep dreaming. These are special order to be on standby for the exclusive few elites and politicians & their families in the country. This became necessary, since they can’t travel to US, UK, China, etc for medical treatment....you know they don’t trust Nigeria Doctors and if it were possible, they would have also imported hospitals with them, since they don’t trust our local hospitals. Two or three of them should be by the CoS bed side very soon....about five will be stationed at Aso Rock Clinic.....No need to continue, I believe you now know why the government insist against the Nigeria Doctors advise to import them. |
Goldmaxx:I see only FL and Wisconsin as toss up.....Arizona is lean Republican....PA, MI are lean Democrat. Remember that, Biden is not Hillary and Biden is to the right of Hillary......He is a compromised candidate by the Democrats, he was not their first choice and many do not like him, because he appeals to the center of the issues. Biden will be a tougher fight for Trump compare to Hillary....Trump has gone too much to the extreme right, his advantage will depend on how successful his handlers can make him run to the center...PA & FL are not heavy Red states, there is a way Trump will run to the right and he will loose them. At the end of the day, the side that is able to bring majority of their voters to the poll will win....lots of democrats regrets sitting out the 2016 elections because of the way Bernie was treated and/or their disdain for Hillary, we will see how it will pan out this time around. |
QuickStandard:Those models were right until Comey announced the Hillary investigations....Trump won by 80,000 votes and lost the popular vote. The GOP does not share your own kind of confidence, hence they are doing everything to suppression voter turnout. Given the growing demography of the US, that suppression will only work for a few more years and there will be a dynamic swing in US political positions to the Democrats. Also Trump Presidency, have truly shown the faces of Republicans, and Democrats are waiting for when they will get back the reigns of power and they will change the system in such a way that, the GOP will find themselves in the minority for a long time. Trump have a chance to win re-election because of the power of the incumbent and the covid-19 pandemic works in his favor, in that they can use it to further suppress voter turn-outs like was done in the Wisconsin Primaries. But, if you watch recent US election cycles, each party get a turn at the Presidency approximately every eight years. From the look of things, it will be very hard for the GOP to win back the House, with all the gerrymandering districts getting fixed in courts. The Democrats will continue to have problem getting a majority in the Senate, because there are more red states with very little population and as per the constitution, every state irrespective of the size must present two Senators. With the enabling of Trump by the Republicans, a lots of democrats have started thinking of turning the tables on them, if and when they regain the three branches of government and the agenda will be to admit Puerto Rico as a state and also District of Columbia...that will add four Senators and many House of Representative members to the democrats column. |
abbey37:Mr. Wiseone! Iowa does not hold primaries, the first primary was NH...Iowa is a caucus, primaries are the major indicators. Bernie was the favorites, it shocked everyone when he tied with Pete Buttigieg to take home 9 delegates both, that was when everyone knew the Bernie effect was a flop. Pete dropout on March 1st; Amy dropout on March 2nd, Tom dropout Feb 29 and did not endorse anyone, Cory Jan 13 and didn't endorse anyone until March 3rd; and Mike dropped on March 4....The first endorsement for Biden came on the eve of Super Tuesday, when the final polls came and Bernie was flopping badly.....Democrats stayed out to see how Biden and Bernie will do with the voters....everyone essentially was waiting for Super Tuesday which was March 3rd...and by then Biden ate Bernie's cake in terms of number of states won and number of pledged delegates....and unlike 2016, no super delegate have sided either candidate even till date. Bernie also did himself in, by opening his mouth too wide; he thought he will be the one with the most pledged delegates before the convention, so he started saying that, whoever had the most delegates by then should be the nominee, since non of the candidates will be able to get the needed number of delegates before then...it is honorable seeing him eating his own words and dropping out; though his position on this was different in 2016. You clearly still not the brightest bulb. |
abbey37:You clearly are not the brightest bulb! If Bernie have this grassroot support you talked about, why was he not winning the primaries? The democrats stayed out of this primary race unlike the previous one, After NH which was the first primary, it was obvious that Bernie was not the lightening bulb he was thought to be. At that point, there were no endorsements, no dropouts and FYI Elizabeth was the perfect candidate for the progressive establishment, but it was obvious that the choice have to be smarter. Hillary have indicated that, she is not interested and no one is pushing her....As for Donald Trump winning? the jury is still out. |
Bondinus:Bernie is not a Democrat, he is an Independent that caucus with the Democrats; so it is not rocket science for democrats to endorse Biden, who is a fellow democrat, though a moderate one. It also appear that, Biden will be a safer bet because he will appear more to the center. |
ibinaboonline:The truth is, they don’t have to throw away their phones....you need a 5G capable phone to be able to connect to a 5G service and there are currently no 5G consumer phones in Nigeria. So, if anyone don’t like the 5G they should not spend money to buy the expensive 5G phones when they start entering the market and for Nigeria, that will be at the minimum about a year from now, because the 5G network have to be on ground and running and there are currently none in Nigeria at the moment. MTN just did a trial and FCC have not even started allocating or selling 5G spectrums. |
byinks:The video did not offend me at all.....I guess you should be the one to go listen to the video again....No where did the men digging states that, they are laying fiber for 5G....what Narrator only asked them who they are laying the cables for, they responded it is for MTN and that they just finished that of AirTel....the Narrator never said the diggers told them they are lying 5G cables, it was the narrators that assume that the cables must be for 5G. If you followed the video to the end, you would have also seen that, they were replacing old fiber cables that may have been damaged, you can see the old fiber cables on the road, which shows that, this is purely a maintenance job to replace old fiber cables and they may be using the opportunity to expand the fiber cable reach. |
byinks:What in that video indicate that, they are installing 5G....be objective. What I see in that video is people laying fiber cables, which happens everyday and you need fiber cables for all kinds of applications. |
menzo4u:Excellent write up.... I want to also add that, 5G have the same risk as 4G, the Sun and the infrared that your TV remote uses....in that they are all electromagnetic radiations....The Sun and infrared from out remote controls uses a higher frequency than the radio wave band that 5G & 4G occupies. The kicker is, the same IARC that classifies...Radio Frequency Radiations (RFR) as "possibly carcinogenic to humans",----which is what many of these 'experts' are quoting...note that this classification is for all RFR and was done since the advert of 1G to 4G and no new warning from IARC regarding 5G....and IARC also staetes that..."...the consumption of red meat is probably carcinogenic to humans" bros I ate red meat today just like most here, and most of us have been eating it from the time we were given birth, but there has been no hullabaloo surround the link between red meat and cancer or how red meat is harming people....we will even eat more of it this Easter and Christmas. |
osazee12345:What do you mean by "...error in advanced technology"...can you expatiate? |
