PoliticsRe: Non of the Candidates Has Met The Requirements To Be Declared Winner by LocalStandard1(op): 12:52am On Mar 01, 2023
PlayMaker14:
Exceptional breakdown of the constitution as regards the requirements needed to be declared the president.
Urchins should learn.
For a moment their shouts and plenty talks almost made forget basic English. These people are seriously doing the job they're paid to do online.

How do you manage to fool an entire nation that the and word is not what we know it to be? How do you even fool people that the FCT, a government controlled territory, doesn't need to be decisively won by the said government?
PoliticsNon of the Candidates Has Met The Requirements To Be Declared Winner by LocalStandard1(op):
I don't know if the post about Falana saying 25% in the FCT is not a requirement is true but if it is then someone needs to go back to school real fast and immediately.

The law says a candidate will be said to win "if they get 25 percent in two third of the States and the FCT.

"two third of 36 is equivalent to 24 states." But the FCT is mandatory cause it is not a State, it was never a State but a federal government territory. The and word is not an optional word but a mandatory additional "conjunction"(note the keyword). "Father and Mother, not Father or mother.

Nobody says "37 States" but "36 States and the FCT"!

If the law says something most happen in all 36 States and the FCT, it simply means the FCT is mandatory, not an option. Same as 24 states and the FCT. If I say "bring me 24 apples and the green one", you do not bring 30 apples and say the extra numbers substitute the green one. You don't! This is law, it's also simple English. And English and the law doesn't bend over night to suit one person, I think. huh

The real question is who goes to run-off now that all the candidates have fallen short of the lawful requirements, yet all three have still met two of three requirements?

There was rigging even in Peter Obi's areas actually. They redused his numbers to as little as half what it should be.
PoliticsRe: So Tinubu Lost All The Very Important States In Nigeria Including FCT Yet Won by LocalStandard1(m): 2:25pm On Feb 28, 2023
Change the word "won" to rigged.

It's very obvious, in this type of rigging what they mostly did was reduce votes from the oppositions so that APC has a higher number. Then add votes to strategic places where APC under performed to help them get the required number of States. That's why you're seeing so many low votes in States even with the fact polling units seem overcrowded during elections.

Even at that they did a very poor job with the numbers that it doesn't make sense in many States and LGAs.

This is no "just an election", this is a hope for a better Nigeria just snatched off the common man right before his eyes. After eight years of Buhari every sane citizen most be heartbroken for the prospect of having to live another same old eight years.

Unlike Buhari, Tinubu takes and takes till theres nothing left. Nigeria will not handle another waste of a human.

Obidients have no shame. What are you calling the South Africans for? To come and do what? Keep running down your country and expecting other countries to treat you well when you migrate to their countries.
Shut your dirty mouth, you ignorant smidgen!

He just relayed his grievance by telling us how he wasted his time voting only to be rigged, in his eyes, and you're blaming him for "running down" the country. You okay?!

Did you go out and suffer under the sun and rain, hunger for hours on election day, vote and wait for counting only to see its for nothing?
If you did you'll agree with him the the country is a shithole.

Way smaller countries like Lesotho, Kenya, Zambia etc did theirs and smaller parties won, the fact Nigeria can't stick to basic law about the elections means OP's right in everything he says.

Shut your hole and go to Romance section, you don't know what the guy's saying and feeling here. Okayhuh!!!

Everybody should be allowed to deal with his anger and disappointment the way they see fit. Nigeria has just been scammed on a National scale!
PoliticsRe: Rejoice Not Tinubu, Mahmoud Yakubu Set You Up To Fail. by LocalStandard1(m): 9:30am On Feb 28, 2023
This election is illegal and will not stand. There will be a new election and everything most be transmitted through the BVAS.

Lagos State result is what got me seriously annoyed. Labour Party won that State by a very wide margin, they reduced it but still ALLOWED(note the keyword) Labour Party win so we all think, "well it's genuine cus LP won Lagos". But it happened with such a small margin that it is insignificant apart from the bragging rights of it.

This elections is illegal and void and most be redone!

PoliticsRe: Have You Noticed What The Top 4 Contestants Have In Common? by LocalStandard1(m): 11:25pm On Feb 27, 2023
AlaafinOfOyo:
I noticed a pattern among the two northern and two southern candidates of Atiku, Kwankwanso and Obi, Tinubu respectively.

The northerners
What you can't miss in Atiku and Kwankwanso is their arrogance. A clear belief in their abilities to win individually. Let's look at this:

Kwankwanso

What is obvious is that this is a guy that overestimated himself. Call it arrogance. Nearly every observer knew he stood no chance beyond Kano, yet he somehow believe in some phantom popularity that he even turned down the opportunity for a great alliance with the LP man who is obviously a bigger force than he.

Atiku

This is a guy who seems to look condescendingly on southerner politicians. This is my hunch. Atiku doesn't know his ability, apparently due to arrogance. He came off as someone who thinks himself as an institution. You see, he had everything going for him. All he needed was unite PDP but in his bloated ago, he probably thought his popularity in the north and parts of the south would win him presidency. Imagine a man who could have brought the G5 and Obi under one umbrella. He couldn't because he somehow believed that southern politicians are or should just tag along. Party leader and former VP status seemed to be his source of arrogance.

The southerners

What's obvious about these guys is that they know their abilities. Tinubu and Obi are clearly aware what they're capable of accomplishing.

Tinubu

This guy never overestimated himself. That's why he embraced his party and the people that could help him rig the election as if his life depended on it. He was modest enough to understand that given a level playing field, he'd likely not win 4 states. So his election strategy has always been to rig himself in at all cost. Statements such as fighting dirty, grabbing power and running with it clearly illustrated that this is a guy who knows he can never win an election but could steal it.

Obi

Hmmm.... this guy knows his appeal and fo used on doing that. He is a man who knows the power of the people and fixated on selling himself to the people. I have the feeling that he's aware that he can win it, but still was willing to accommodate every alliance possible. Come to think of it. Without rigging, he actually won this. Even with rigging, his name alone sent many from an obscure parry to the National Assembly. In my opinion, Obi is the most influential politician alive in Nigeria today. An Aminu Kano of sorts.
You're actually right in most of your observations. Even though Kwankwaso is definitely arrogant he still knows he won't win. He has his own plans.

Sadly the biggest winner in Nigeria's politics is not the most loved or most popular, it is the one with the biggest money bag. We all know who that is!

PoliticsRe: South South Taught Obi A Lesson He Will Never Forget by LocalStandard1(m): 10:04pm On Feb 27, 2023
The reason why Igbos are hated and maltreated this way in this administration is cause they stood by Goodluck Jonathan till the very end. They defended and forth for him even at their expense and safety.

I don't know if you're really from the SS but your tears are coming soon, no be Yorubas you wan side?

Atleast now a new dawn is formed in Nigerian politics between them and the Christian North. I have learned something in Nigeria, the last people you should laugh at are the Igbos. Beat them down a hundred times and they will rise a hundred and one times and keep moving forward.

That why I admire them, that's what I learn from them. They're fearless!

Labour Party should not bend to anyone, Peter Obi's should remain in LP, with the emergence of the Middle Belt in Labour Party and that of the South East let Peter Obi build his own kind of political structure.

We no wan join anybody, either you collapse your structure into ours or you find your own way. After loosing this elections Atiku will run back to Dubai never to be seen or heard from again for a long while. PDP has lost more strength. Let them come and beg Peter Obi to be their new godfather.

What she the poster and many Northerners even Yoruba failed to see is that the realignment of Nigeria has happened just as we wanted. Let them bring on any game they have in the future, we survived and thrived under Buhari. We will continue to do it even more together.
PoliticsIGBOS And Northern Christians Do Not Worry, I Promise You We've Won This! by LocalStandard1(op): 10:59am On Feb 27, 2023
I made a lot of posts about this elections, I have been more outspoken now on Nairaland than anytime before.

I made many promises of a new, redesigned Nigeria with this election. You know what? Everything is falling perfectly in place, just as I wanted, or almost so.

Let me explain....

I have come about an ingenious plan of a new Nigeria after I came to discover a new way out. First off, dismember and expose the fakeness of the phrase "One North!
Then cutting off the Christian North, the Middle Belt, and our alliances with the North and turning our gaze to the Southern Nigeria specifically the South East.

I believe the South East and the Middle Belt have more in common than any part of Nigeria. We share same ideologies, same struggle, similar story, same aspirations. I want the Middle Belt to learn about the system of the Igbos, who fifty years since the civil war and being completely disenfranchised and marginalized, have still managed to be probably the most thriving single group in Nigeria.

But how do we make all these new plan work?

That's when Peter Obi came along! Then I started working, talking and rallying my own group for him. Peter Obi's coming has liberated, disintegrated, reintegrated, enlightened, opened up, exposed and built these new Nigeria I talk about. A new alignment!

If you remember one of my posts I said at the end, "win or loose a new Nigeria has been birthed right in our eyes!" This is what I was referring to all along.

It was never going to be easy taking back Nigeria and handing it over to the people, it was never going to be easy wrestling power from these old ancient crooks. But anyhow this election goes we have still won, we are still winning, and we will come out victorious at the end.

If we in Southern Kaduna can survive some of the most bigoted and tribalistic jingoists in government in the persons of Buhari as President and El'rufai as governor, even with a State Mu/Mu ticket, and the Igbos surviving and thriving even with Buhari as President, there is not a single person, group or new administration that can threaten or bend us. Not one! People in Katsina, Zamfara etc are not doing any better or any safer than us.

We have won this already people! wink cheesy

All OBIdients Most Come Out Enmass For The Governorship And State House Of Reps Elections And Vote Our Various Candidates, That Will Take Us Far Closer To Victory!
