I have been hearing a lot of talk about Dunlop of recent and decided to take a TA on the stock

Dunlop had been on a down trend since around march last year from somewhere around 9 naira to as low as 2.30k or so
BUT around November and December it formed a double bottom which was a very strong revesrsal trend.
That sharp decline we noticed recently must have been due to some sentimental fundamental, the momentum has stopped falling sharply and has started levelling out
The Stochastic is way below 50, and has begun levelling out also on its fall,
The RSI is still pretty much undecided, and its the key factor for the short termers, what it does in the next few days will determine entry point for both short and medium termers.
for long termers now is a good buy

Dunlop Projection
Short term- Mixed
Medium term-Bullish
Long term-Bullish
The Candlestick pattern for Dunlop from yesterday shows that the sellers are starting to gain momentum thereby pushing down the RSI and the closing price from yesterday.It would be advisable to wait till Thursday to observe the trend if it slides further before taking a position waiting for the next upswing cycle movement. I think that the same Institutional investors that mopped up the Stock last week are the same one's trying to dump them gradually after short term profit-taking.

@EMMAACHILE,

Thanx for the PHB Investors stuff. The analysis mainly centred around long-term investing (i.e food for the Talibans) and the stock that had the largest profit margins based on the projeted PE/Dividends were:

UBA
Dangote Sugar
Ashaka Cement
Okumu Oil
Julius Berger
PHB

In the Insurance sector only Crusader Ins (and possibly WAPIC) looked likely to sustain their projected PE.

Nothing to CICO here, just value investing for the fundamentalists.

Dunlop will likely face another free fall today as sellers managed to rake in their margin profits yesterday based on the sentimental turn-around story making the rounds

@easimoni,

Its all part of the TA learning process, and its very easy to understand once you get your head around it. When I was new in Options Trading my ex-collegaues used to shout "today is a Gravestone Doji" in the office and I would secretly bind them saying "today is no Gravestone for me O! it is the day the Lord has made". Anyway, Candlestick charting adds certainty to the fundamentals of a stock because the price action determines the earnings in the long run.

its not an inverted hammer. it shows sellers were in control.
The Hammer is a bullish reversal pattern that forms after a decline. In addition to a potential trend reversal, hammers can mark bottoms or support levels. After a decline, hammers signal a bullish revival. The low of the long lower shadow implies that sellers drove prices lower during the session. However, the strong finish indicates that buyers regained their footing to end the session on a strong note. While this may seem enough to act on, hammers require further bullish confirmation. The low of the hammer shows that plenty of sellers remain. Further buying pressure, and preferably on expanding volume, is needed before acting. Such confirmation could come from a gap up or long white candlestick. Hammers are similar to selling climaxes, and heavy volume can serve to reinforce the validity of the reversal.
Thanx for the prognosis but you have not actually confirmed what Candlestick pattern emerged today for Dunlop, I was presuming it was an Inverted Hammer-what do you say it was ?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by LondonCool(m): 9:02pm On Feb 12, 2008
@Aktopgun,

Could you kindly confirm if the Candlestick chart pattern at the end of todays Trade transactions for Dunlop Plc is an "Inverted Hammer". If it is, then one needs to wait for the next days transaction to confirm the emerging trend (i.e of a Bearish pattern in an uptrend).

I still believe that other things being equal you stand to make the most money this way. It's the only legal way to print your own money worldwide. Issuing shares. Look at the google folks and microsoft. Our own Dangote even seems to be very good at this now on the pretence of sharing wealth with Nigerians. Real Estate is also good. Nigeria is so far behind in housing that that sector will continue boomerang. Btw, how's your project in Calabar?

Is is too late to joing the Dunlop Plc cruise ? I placed orders for the shares when it was @N4.82 and couldnt get any to buy. I am trying to accumulate the shares against 2009 (based on my candlestick analysis).

Does anyone have a curent list of (the top ten) undervalued stock (apart from Dangote Sugar) ?

Why does Robert Kiyosaki frown against investment in stock (with a preference for Real Estate) ? He advises in the 'Cash Flow Quadrant', that you should be the one floating the Stock  instead for others to buy and not to be the one buying from others. Any contributions ?

I applied for 4 different family members (wife, son, daughter) but with same surname and will receive returned money. I presume that the cheque will be sent in these names, does anyone know how I can claim these money. Does it makes it more difficult as I no dey ground.
@bigjay01,

You do not need to open individual accounts for each person. All you need to do is to negotiate the cheque into your account. This is done by the payee writing their name and signature on the reverse of the cheque (endorsement), and could add the wordings "for further credit to the account of , bigjay01", for instance (you could do that for your son/daughter too); . Third party cheques are allowed to be paid into personal current accounts (especially where the payee's all have the same surname). Most banks frown at the transaction because of the fraudulent opportunity it presents but there is no law that prevents a negotiable instrument from being negotiated to a third party account if it has been properly endorsed.

TV/MoviesRe: Voltron Defender Of The Universe by LondonCool(m): 9:33pm On Jan 19, 2008
Sometimes most of the Voltron scenes have badly dubbed lines that would make one laugh if watched now in our era.

The one that comes to mind is a scene where Hunk (The Yellow Lion Pilot) and the rest of the Voltron Lion Team rescue a girl by the name of Twyla, an escaped slave from Planet Doom and Zarkon, Hunk wants to take the fight to Zarkon, but Keith nips the idea. But when that little slave girl plants a bomb in the missile room to blow up the castle and is stopped, the Kid Gloves are off, as the Voltron Team have to go up against, Twyla's big (butt ugly) robeast Brother ( Can Voltron get out of this alive without any of us laughing ourselves to death?)

In this scene you have Zarkon cursing the Witch Haggar for her stupidity then praising her for her stupidity! and then in the Slave girl scenes Twyla was saying "I don't want to hurt you, but if you don't stop chasing me, I will get my big brother on you, (and he's a robeast!!!) No Stay back! I'm warning you!!!, Oh look ,Here comes my big evil robeast brother now!, He will kill you all! (then having Hunk try to reason with a robeast some 200 to 2000 times larger then he is, Keith: It's too late for that, We Need VOLTRON!!!!! " (blimey! what do you think?)

Just repeat that scene where Princess Allura is laying out on a blanket, trying to get a strapless tan (and almost giving Nanny a major coronary in the process).

Whenever I go to Nigeria I always arrive with suitcases full of Football jerseys and gift items of Arsenal,Chelsea,Liverpool and Man U football clubs. I target the upper end of the market-those rich supporters who want to identify with Football stuff that is not easily accessible in Nigeria. There are lots of cheap Taiwan/Aba made products too, but from my experience people are ready to pay over the odds when they know that your product is original and different. I make my money from turnover and margins.
TV/MoviesRe: Voltron Defender Of The Universe by LondonCool(m): 3:17am On Jan 19, 2008
I loved watching VOLTRON. Methinks that the present day TRANSFORMERS and POWER RANGERS are copyright versions of Voltron-they just stole and duplicated the whole Voltron concept.

Even nowadays, guys who are do-gooders are referred to as "Voltrons", especially the 'Bobo nice' who claims to be escorting his female colleague back to the female hostel at night, in order to 'protect' her from the menace of cult guys.

Where do they think all the money to build and repair all the roads in Cross river come from ? Where do they think all the money contributed by the CRS Govt to the Tinapa project came from ? do they think it came from the misearble income tax paid by Civil Servants who make up 90% of the states generated budgetary Income? Of course Donald used unorthodox methods to get the money from the Local Govt councils to fund most of his projects, it was a better alternative then allowing the Chairmen to squander the money with nothing to show for.Lets stop this Witch-hunting crusade. Dont be surprised that Donald will dazzle the whole EFCC commission with sheer brilliance,oratory and tangible proofs if he ever appears before them-you cant argue with SUCCESS.
Hello londoncool,

I have always express my own opinion about this issue you raised. why not save yourself all this stress by building a house without sweat. The only way you can do this si to have the right proffessionals to handle your project. One, get an architect to do your design and get the plan approved with the government. After this, get a qualified building contractor not a bricklayer to come up with the cost for the building project and after this get a cost consultant who should be a quantity surveyor to check the cost supplied and as well who will be helping you in the course of construction to check the work of the contractor if the work done is commesurate with the money paid to him. With this you will have peace of mind as this proffessionals will serve as checks and balances for each other while your brother overseas everybody and reports back to you. I am a builder and i always believe in handling a building project proffessionally. you can reach me on 08029478202 or e mail seggs.partners@yahoo.com in case you want to get a builder
@boye/larry,

Thanks for your tips. They have been noted. I will be in Calabar by next month to supervise the construction of the fenced wall round the plot of land, then sit down with the Architect over the final building design and get it approved. Would you be able to take up a building contract in Calabar as I presume you are in Lagos ?

Please does any one know what the procedure is to transfer funds to a GTB domicilliary account from Canada? i know they use anaffiliate bank in the states but the account holder could not give the swift code . i have all the account details of the account holder but i don't have any thing about the affiliate bank an supposed top use in the states. anybody who has done this should please post details thanks guys
Most Remittances Departments in Banks have what they call "THE BANKERS ALMANAC", it contains a list of ALL the Banks in the WORLD and includes their correspondent Banks for various Currencies. So far as you have the correct account number of the GTB a/c the Bank in Canada should be able to retrieve the SWIFT Code from the Bankers Almanac of the USD Correspondent  Bank for GTB and route the funds accordingly through SWIFT.

GTB do use Citibank New York so the funds should be routed like this for eg. Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto (ROYCATT2) to Royal Bank of Canada New York for the further credit of  GTB's USD a/c with Citi Bank New York (CITIUS33) for the further credit of  your friends GTB Dom a/c in Nigeria(GTBINGLA).

@Londoncool.
Cashcraft has account with GTB. So it was easy to make a 3rd party transfer without any charges. I enjoyed this for almost six months before GTB removed the facility more than 2 weeks ago. I haven't made any transfer since then. The only option left now is telephone transfer or cheque. I must say, I haven't made payment through any of those since I have enough money to trade at the moment.
However if you have a UBA bank account account, their online 3rd party transfer is active but with a charge.

Just this Monday, my sell order for NEM was executed, bought at N2 in 09/11 and sold at N3.38 on 24/12.
So far I have good experience with CC and I do hope they continue with this good impression I have with them.

Londoncool, I 'm not campaigning for CC but I think people should be objective in what they say. Most people only write on hearsay and not on fact. Give a trial and if you are not satisfied then you go elsewhere.
@Princesege,

Thanks for your opinion on Cashcraft. Since they are in the same building as Afrinvest it would make things a bit easier for me (logistically) when I'll be coming to Nigeria in February to see my SB and Registrars.I have an account with GTB too and hope they could transact Telephone transfers for me to fund my Stock a/c.

@Princesege. Your comment about Cashcraft is on point. My account officer is really efficient as well. Very personable and willing to bend over backward to satisfy her client. Londoncool, if you need her info let me know and I'll hook you up.
@K2,

Thanks, I'll take up your offer on your efficient Account Officer.I gave purchase instructions to my Account Officer with Afrinvest since 13/12/2007 (which expires on 31/12/2007) after confirming that I had cleared funds and uptil now no purchase has been made, no contract note issued, no communication whatsoever, and my cup of patience is running over slowly.

I have been using Cashcraft since 2001. They may not be 100% efficient but their on line facility is one of the best. The service you receive depends on your account officer. I will suggest you call their head office and demand for a good account officer who knows what is meant by prompt execution of orders, I bet you will a good experience with cashcraft.
What I did was to get Kunle in account department so that anytime I transfer money from GTB , my stock account is credited immediately or at worst the second day. This was shortlived just last week when GTB removed 3rd party transfer from their online banking platform, very painful and disappointing I must confess. Also I follow up with email and I have been getting a good response. I remember when I bought NEM in November, it took just a day to carry out my order. So Londoncool, it all depends on your account officer and the market of the day at NSE. If you want to give a shot, go ahead and try it yourself.
@Princesege,

How do you fund your Stock a/c with Cashcarft (in the absence of your GTb online transfer facility ?)
