RomanceRe: Love Does Not Ask Us To Be Perfect by LongOne1(m): 11:38am On Sep 28, 2011
Say, I have a wife who is 8 months pregnant and the following conversation ensues:

Wife, after trying out a new outfit: Honey, how do I look?
Me, in the spirit of honesty: Aww, baby, you look like a bloated cow.

Now, tell me poster, is this love? Sorry, couldn’t resist, buhahahaha.

Johnbosco7:
Guys in the house please i will like to know if you can date a girl with a 'k' leg who is not too ugly with a good character.
Some body once told me that he cannot move with them because they attract a lot of negative attention. guys please what is your take on this issue.
LMAO at 'not too ugly.' But, what is wrong with 'not too fine'?

Haven't been in the situation before, so can't really tell.

It’s easy to talk the talk, but more difficult to walk it. You only really understand the choice you have to make as you experience that life-defining moment with the cold barrel of a gun pressed behind your neck.

This is the new school hehehehehehe. Time waits for no man, its not like they would start doing things asap, its just interaction through the internet. The highest that can be done is "kiss me through the phone". Its a fair deal
Ok, upgrading to new school . . . . 10% . . . 20%. . . . . . 99% . . . . . . . .done

Nna, where is my kiss me through the phone now?

Some good points in there no doubt. A rather befitting nairaland ID I must say . . . suits you just fine (you really talk a lot).
RomanceRe: Misreading Signals by LongOne1(m): 12:19pm On Sep 27, 2011
emofine:
[Q]. . .Are the signals we relay affected by the exhibitionist i.e. is body language more difficult to read from a person reserved in nature?
Yes, I believe people who are reserved in nature can mask their feelings more than lively/outgoing people. I also believe the reason for the body language can be misinterpreted, but not the language itself.

In your example, you may have expressed a tremulous motion i.e. a shiver, because you were afraid of treading those waters with him. (Maybe he is your father’s age/he is super-ugly/he is not your type/one of those lame excuses women usually come up with grin).

Interpreting this as a sensation borne out of fright, cold, or excitement, he would naturally eliminate fright if you’ve known him for a while and cold due to favourable weather conditions on the said day, which would lead him to believe it was borne out of excitement.

emofine:
[Q]. . .or is there a sub-concious minor emotion that we still relay that is being read/received over our dominant feelings?
The eyes are the window to the soul, if you look deep into someone’s eyes, you will see the truth (hence why marketing jobs stress eye contact first before enthusiastic body language during a pitch).

I believe the eye is the one place you can't hide your true emotions as it will still be relayed (I work with lots of white people unfortunately and see the hate in their eyes, even though they flash their 32 regularly at me, lol).

Happened to me once, I playfully spanked her left bum cheek after the introductions and held her close to mark my territory - she got the message and it never happened again.
RomanceRe: Why Don't Some Guys Take No For An Answer? by LongOne1(m): 2:45pm On Sep 24, 2011
'cos women don't always know what they want. Moreover there is also the seduction/guilty pleasure angle if you know what I mean.

Some girls when you start touching them, they say no, when you ask them if you should stop, they still say no. Heck, some even scream noooo while in the act.

I was wondering too. We call menstruation 'changing engine oil' and childbirth 'dropping the engine.'

RomanceRe: I Want Wait Before Having Children by LongOne1(m): 1:53pm On Sep 24, 2011
Having children immediately after marriage? I would rather wait a while, those things are rather expensive to maintain, lol.
Our secretary at work complains her youngest daughter costs her £50 a week. That is £200 per month, and £2400 per year.

RomanceRe: What Is Behind Late Marriages For Ladies ? by LongOne1(m): 1:12pm On Sep 24, 2011
Lol at topic; pastors tying to solve ‘failure to launch’ issues for 21st Century ladies.

I guess it all boils down to time and chance, for it is not how fast we marry, but how well.
“. . . the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11, King James Version)

So, me thinks everybody’s prayer should be; ‘let me get married at the right time, and please help me so I won’t miss my chance.’

PoliticsRe: Must They Humiliate Tinubu Like This? by LongOne1(m): 9:10pm On Sep 21, 2011
What difference will this make and how will it solve our issues?

Nigerians have this 'medicine after death' mentality, instead of focusing on how to prevent current/future leaders from doing this, they look for scapegoats to feed people's blood thirst without solving the underlying problem.

The jokes on all of us.
