That’s not true. I have friends making mad money in Nigeria, who I have tried to convince to study abroad or at least, come for a visit, but they all refused. Moreover, they are happy sponsoring their girlfriends abroad for holiday. I also know one that studied here who said he’ll never come back again, as he hates all the rules – he even refused to come for his own graduation.

I agree the jobless youths won’t hesitate, as they feel life is greener on this side, but sincerely speaking, not everyone wants to live in the west.

I was at this interview centre, waiting my turn to be interviewed. There was one white guy also waiting beside me and two pretty Indian receptionists.

They three of them started chatting and I was like; damn! Anti-social me‘. Next thing I know, the guy turned to my side trying to involve me. I was pleased as one Indian girl was eyeing me like she was in heat. She had this soft looking, well rounded behind, which I was already doing bad, bad things to in my mind. The guy’s next line was ‘my boyfriend…’ the way my leg shifted from beside his was pretty embarrassing as it was obvious it was borne out of disgust.

IMO this means, by focusing on your misery, you create it and could gradually become what you hate. It could also mean you will live in darkness if you focus too much on the dark side of life.

We’ve all had our downs with them, but that doesn’t mean we should be negative. Each individual has his/her own life to live and you can’t change a human being. You need to accept this and move on, else, you poison yourself and everyone around you as Slimyem said.

Life is beautiful, but too short to focus on the past, ‘cos at any point in time ‘x’, you could get amu robber shot/boko haramed/ethnic clash knifed/carry ‘big boy’ disease/e.t.c.

^^^It’s difficult, but I think you should let him go now. If you wait to enjoy the moment as you said, it’ll be much more difficult when he finally leaves - the lonely/sleepless nights wondering what he's up to.

If his feelings were as strong as yours, he wouldn’t be thinking of getting back with his Ex. I feel he is keeping his options open and you are his consolation prize if they don’t get back together.
