This is something you need to make research on and choose the one that best alligns with your interest. Let me touch a few Path. Do you wanna be any of these?

UiUX DESIGNER
FRONT END DEVELOPER
BACK END DEVELOPER
FULL STACK DEVELOPER
DEVOPS

AND SOME OTHERS

Make research on any of the above and know what it entails and also the programming languages involved then you would have more direct questions to ask. I wish you all the best

Unfortunately, I've tried that and I realized I was wasting my time.
I need a tutor, a good one at that. Where I'll be taught well with projects and group works
If you're sure you need a tutor then , be ready to cough out like between 300 to 500k for some Bootcamps in Nigeria. But I also thought so like you until my eyes opened. I would advise you download a specific video on any of the desired field of software development you choose to go in. Please don't ask me the area of software development you should go in. That one is Meant for you to research on and choose the one which resonates with your interest.

here is my own dilemma, I am a truck driver very much employed (gainfully), but I have this passion to learn programming. Of course the nature of my job can't give me the chance for person tutelage. So sincerely I want to ask if I can develop it personally,if yes which of the programs is best suited for beginners. And also whenever I decide to start and end up hitting am impasse of understanding the next step can you act as a source of online tutor?
Since you're into Truck driving , I did suggest you look towards Europe. Mostly Eastern European countries. Cos they're easier to move to than the west. Moving via work visa is your best bet. You can use another blue collar job let's say for instance, a Factory Worker or store keeper job to relocate , work for a while while you source for truck driver job or any other thing you want. A piece of advice bro... Don't ever rely on her coming to Nigeria for marriage , I'm not saying it won't work all I'm saying is you should on your own start working towards legal ways to Leave Nigeria because you see these people , they're not Reliable. They would love you today , tomorrow they'll switch up. It's all about their own interest.

It's so bad that my Dad got a government work side hustle as a retiree, they still owed him.

Abroad is the best for programmers. Most people who started learning to code a year ago abroad are now with atleast a paid internship, some of them are not that good sef. In some certain European countries, some of them are employed then taught how to code on the job while earning.

I see them celebrate everyday on Twitter and LinkedIn. It's just so easy for those guys, even their freelancers are finding it too easy on upwork and Co.

Man, my own future ambition is to leave this country before I'm 30.
I see them celebrating on twitter and I just smile and say to myself " These people don't know how privileged they are " cos for Nigeria you would even see people who have started coding for 2yrs without a good job.

Lindner:
This has been a challenge since the beginning of the pandemic. Most western companies are simply exploiting hires from third world countries. They get the same value(sometimes, better) in terms of skills for less. I work remotely with a US based tech company and I see this all the time.

Sometimes, we make it easy for these employers to exploit us as well by setting the bar too low. You already have an idea what a company based in Europe is expected to pay for your level, just simply ask for that. Perhaps, you were too desperate.

I've seen highly skilled people from African countries being offered as low as $800 per month. I even spoke to few during our paired programming sessions what their expectations are if they were to get a new offer. None of them is expecting to be paid above $1.5k whereas their counterpart based outside of Africa is demanding for $4k cos he knows what their law says.

Don't worry bro, get the experience and launch out again. And learn the art of negotiation.
If I'm to get a junior developer role or an internship in a Us based tech company, how much should I be paid ?
ProgrammingRe: Got A Remote EU Job But… by lordally(m): 1:15pm On Aug 13, 2021

So i recently applied for a backend position at a company in Europe and luckily i was shortlisted to take live coding test which i ended performing well.

I was contacted a again and hopped on a video call with the other developers asking some technical questions. I was asked about my salary expectations and out of excitement i didn’t bill them well. It’s quite a big company and I feel like i should have asked for me.

I was contacted few days ago with a contract to start with the price i told them initially.

Anyways just wanted to remind my brethren here not to get too excited about jobs and always try to keep a cool head and also negotiate better.
Congrats bro!! It's a win win... Cos you can still ask for a pay rise after some months and they would have to do it if you've been exceptional na. grin

Lol.... You got me laughing hard there

But bro, seriously.. I started with coding

Learned HTML CSS and Javascript
It frustrated me a bit, I couldn't keep on... I decided to focus on what I naturally do without struggling, which is writing... I added a bit of graphics on the side, but jobs are just not coming
Baba you for just continue Kai! It was just remaining one lap for you to finish which is REACT build 2 or 3 projects , then you try and put yourself out there and hope for the best. Since you know JavaScript , I would advice you learn React which shouldn't take you much time and then build projects. I think IT is more promising than Writing and even Graphics too. Learn React bro, if I was in your shoes , I would have been lucky cos na only React I go just learn then I go get job. I've not gotten the skills yet but with the little I've put myself on the tech space I've gotten Promises of job recommendation once I am done learning of which is a very big boost. I'll share my story on Nairaland hopefully next year.

Bro go back to coding bro, you stand a better chance. There are People who can recommend you for tech jobs here on Nairaland but they are on low-key. You have to put yourself out there for them to spot you!

Bro if you get laptop , try learn how to code ooo. It's better you start now you don't have a job so that you would dedicate 100% of your time to it. Give yourself 6 to 8 months bro! And you would have repositioned yourself to a more advantageous angle in which you would be more employable. I'm saying this because that's what I'm doing currently. Some People Call it Data Science, Annie Milgram called it Moneyballing Criminal Justice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJNESMhIxQ0
Anne Milgram: Why smart statistics are the key to fighting crime.
When she became the attorney general of New Jersey in 2007, Anne Milgram quickly discovered a few startling facts: not only did her team not really know who they were putting in jail, but they had no way of understanding if their decisions were actually making the public safer. And so began her ongoing, inspirational quest to bring data analytics and statistical analysis to the US criminal justice system.

She isn't a data science expert, but an attorney general (a lawyer). You dont have to be an expert in it to build your data science team
She saw a need for data to make the justice and police system work better. Her work made police efficient from handling more lower cases to the real cases. Data showed her that dangerous criminals are being released while the lesser dangerous are locked up more. She used this to convince judges and make the system work better.

Note that she didnt claim the experience of the judges should not count, but data is vital to make decision and changes. It worked for her and her police team.

If it worked for New Jersey , why can't it work for Nigeria
Yes, we know police is messed and many Abba Kyari are celebrated. But the way out is data. We just must find a way to compel the authority to change for good. We have no choice. We can keep complaining till eternity, but the truth is that if we come together and build something, it will work. It may take time cos they will fight it, but trust me the right procedure eventually wins. However if we continue tarrying, we are postponing further our liberation date.

Am I making sense? Do you see why you should hustle and then come into this and let's fight for the next generation? Nigeria must be great again. Let's "japa", but restrategize too. We can do remotely from anywhere. We have only this Nigeria.

What do you think?
Nice!

I used the wrong words. I apologize for that.

Or maybe I am wrong about the thing. So, that your friend who paid N100k for all, I'm just curious how he did it. Maybe we can talk privately. Or if you can give me the moniker of the guy, will just like chatting with the person. Many people who genuinely want to study abroad and can pay instalmentally can use this means to help themselves get visas. I know quite a few I can introduce to it if truly the cash reflects and can always be verified via ATM anytime, and the people will not move it out cos of internal wahala.
Ahhhh no ooo Baba mi there's nothing to apologise for o abeg grin

You know how some people behave when they move abroad lol they cut off communication and start feeling they have blown. Fortunately for me, before we stopped communicating he had given me the little vital extra information I needed. And he doesn't comment on Nairaland again since he moved out lol. We can communicate via mail so we won't derail the main purpose of this thread I'll send you mail. And yes, the money can be confirmed using your ATM and aside that , the bank gives you the hard copy too which is well stamped. But the funny thing is just like you walk into a bank and tell them you wanna buy dollars , they would tell you they don't have but you would have to look for Aboki, same goes to this Statement stuff. If you happen to be in Lagos then we could plan a meet up the I'll come with the man who come do it. For now , I don't know if he can do it and send to people outside Lagos I'll need to confirm from him dou.

What I should have used were: Your option might be dangerous also. But I guess it is not as dangerous as I think cos I didnt put the ATM factor in it. I totally forgot about it, and damn. Thanks for the details. Actually, I have a friend who borrowed some 7million plus. But my issue with it is that, it is 5% the first month. Too high. But that's what they always charge. I can imagine coughing out N350k for a month. If one has to keep it there got 6 months? That's 3.5m...I know there can be discount as the interest reduces. But mehn...N3m for just interest for 6 months? My friend is just for 1 month or so.
This is ridiculous! And outrageous!!! shocked 3.5M total interest for a loan of 7M?? God forbid! That 3.5M if I had it late last year I would have been in Poland by now! Via work visa ( Blue Collar job ) nawa o that interest is neck cutting! Habah!
