I had a friend who schooled at Fed. Poly In Kogi State and used to regale me with stories on how they used boats at Agenebode to cross over to Kogi State.
I am sure a bridge has been built across the River Niger now.

Given available evidence, the woman got the sentence she deserves.
However, was her mental fitness ascertained before the judgement was passed. Many mentally ill people are roaming about , undetected, in our society.

There were times in the scripture, when God wanted to execute judgement, but after much pleading by men, he repented of his planned action. Examples:

A. When he wanted to wipe out the children of Israel, after the Exodus from Egypt, because they provoked him, but did not do this because Moses interceded on their behalf.

B. In the book of Kings, he fotold of King Hezekiah's death through his Prophet, but later added 15 years to his life, after the King wept and pleaded with him through prayers.

This is a very reasonable response.
If the above fails, then you should try church counseling because a woman who never forgives or tries to reconcile with others, should have her faults shown to her by a spiritual authority, if she respects such.
Also, your Mom should be made to realise that you now have a wife and family and so needs to respect your family privacy whenever necessary.

I agree with you about seeking God first, but the Constitution guarantees freedom of association and movement.
Why just enter a night club to arrest everyone?
There are better sophisticated ways to track down criminals and invite them for questioning. For example, Motor vehicle licensing offices can give you the names of people who have registered vehicles worth N15 million and above. You can use such indices to invite those of interest to you for interviews.

Security operatives can just turn up at a club to arrest everyone there trying to unwind at the weekend.
The people living in that vicinity should bring this to the notice of their House of Assembly representative, if he is the responsive type, so as to avoid a repeat of this harrowing experience

I hope there are CCTV cameras around the place the incident took place, also Police should ask if he had any issues with clients or somebody recently.
Police informants in the underworld should also be tapped for any relevant information they can give on this

Amaka was too slow in thinking, if she was over 18 years and the beating descended to a dangerous level, she could have fled from the house because as an adult, she is at liberty to define how she wants to live her life.
If she had fled and got married to Ibrahim, her family will likely accept the union, later on, especially if they are doing well.

A friend complained to me that when he was courting his wife, he will buy credit for her, but instead of calling him, she only flashes him, even when he had just bought her phone credit .
