Fulaman198: Boko Haram doesn't want the same thing. They are killing for the sake of killing. They kill indiscriminately and seem to take joy in committing barbarous acts. Boko Haram are trouble makers, they don't want an Islamic state because what they do is not of Islam. What they want is a state of Anarchy. I doubt if anybody would kill for the sake of killing. People always have a cause, a goal they are fighting for which might not go well with many...but that doesn't make them less humans fighting for what they believe in Whether state of anarchy or not, there's a reason But what's then difference between boko haram and Isil? After all Shekau has pledged allegiance to Isil |

There is what the Yoruba call 'oloore', meaning 'people with good intent'. And then we have 'afibisoloore', that is, 'people who demoralises the well-meaning'. I'm not stupid, I have come of age and discovered that the best way to waste your precious time and deplete your innate intelligence is to come around often and engage resolute strangers in any inconclusive argument that offer you absolute nada. Thats highway to loosing what you believe. Must strangers control you, my son? (I'm thinking loud). You said it, no babalawo will sit someone down and teach them the abstracts of Ogunda, true. But my family house is 'Ago Babalawo'. Can the blind lead the blind? I am a man with sight. So it's ur family house that told u Yorubas are descended from Hebrews? Incase u still wan check make I drop u something. Check out Jeremiah 50 and 51 as well as Isaiah 13 and 14 or 14and15. netmillionaires: ooohhh I see! Do open ur mind and let us take on each other one after the other with proof. Do u know that even scientists now believe in God? The bible speaks of events before they occur and they did come to pass. The bible describes how Cyrus will come by night, dried up the Euphrates river and then take Babylon. It even mention Cyrus by name 100s of years b4 the event. Now where is your own proof of reincarnation? There's multiple reasons to believe the philosophy of reincarnation. I asked u is there anything to show that the so called Bible prophecies weren't written after the fall of Babylon? |

At emboldened, that's what feminism is all about. By the way, did I see a pagan(Traditionalist) like Macof call something else demonic?
That's what feminism is all about - empowering those women that have been ill-advised by their parents.
All these women you mentioned are self-acclaimed feminists, maybe with an exception of Okonjo-Iweala. Dats like saying Masculism is not sexism, Masculism is all about empowering men that have been ill-advised by their parents Why not empower all, regardless gender? |

Feminism is sexism.. Even the name gives it away as a fraud I wonder why an intelligent woman like,Adichie is falling for such fraud
Promote gender equality and Meritocracy, not demonise the society because more men are involved in big things and top positions.
Women shouldn't be lazy, get up and stop looking for swag boyfriend and caring so much about make up and fake hair and rise up for your own good..you waste your youth and then blame serious and successful men for your failures
Women like Oprah, Adichie, Beyonce, Okonjo-Iweala didn't waste their time, they found their interest, created a goal and worked towards it...most young ladies today lack interest in things that require hardwork so don't blame men, blame yourselves
People would have confidence in you and support you to lead if you have a personality and the merit to do so |

netmillionaires: here is one good difference. The bible describes events that are yet to happen hundreds of years before they did happened. Take the fall of Babylon for example. The bible explained the events; how it will happen, who will fulfill d prophecy 100s of yrs b4 it happened. So I believe in d Bible as the true word of God. What is your proof of reincarnation apart from baseless theories? What's the passage that professes such? And how can you guarantee it was written before and not after it happened? |

olyrayy: Wow, this is very very very myopic and lamentable. If someone comes from another planet and hears what you are saying, wouldn't he think u are talking as a result of hallucination? You shouldn't condemn other people's faith. U have no solid proof that the God u are talking about and the devil u are talking about really exist. Everything you are saying is believed by faith. So also, whatever he also spews is believed by faith. Hence both of you are 100 percent right because neither of you has solid proof to back up your beliefs. The philosophy of reincarnation is actually logical and backed up by various other natural phenomenons that can't be said about his God and his devil |

Carriacou1985: I am very interested in African traditional religion, although I am not African. My family originate from the Caribbean where we practise a spiritual religion which has roots from the Yoruba religion, also linked to Shango baptists of Trinidad and Santeria in South america.
The African traditional religion was so vital to the people brought as slaves to the islands of the Caribbean and other parts of South America, especially in Brazil that they still hold onto it today. In Trinidad they celebrate an annual Oshun festival in August, pronounced Osun to west Africans, from my research. From what I know this religion is very spiritual and many worshipper from the Caribbean and South America worship through songs and dances passed down from their ancestors. Knowledge is passed down from the spirits and gifts are given to you according to your faith and obedience. Oshun is pronounced same here, we just don't add the "h" when writing...it's a pattern for Yoruba words rather we add a dot under the "S" if your keypad allows such |

We don't need a book. Book based on what region or Nationality? Yoruba, Gbe culture? Or all Africans together? Certainly it would generate more conflicts We need a council to address the issue of the dying practising and loss in the ancient knowledge, more publicity to be made But not turning it into an organized religion like Romans and Jews did
We need to teach what African spirituality truly is and it's knowledge |

khiaa: But like one of the Nl members said, they knew what was going on because the whipping started before they left the shores of Africa. When your/my ancestors came to the slave camps to collect their money, they witnessed the abuse and suffering but they didn't care, they were concered about getting their money and little trinkets, you know, mirrors, guns, gun powder, alcohol. It was all business to them. Slave camps to collect their money?? That's funny..why would anybody give out a slave without collecting money at that moment? Anyway am not saying slavery was good but Africans found nothing wrong with it because 1. We also kept slaves in our household 2. We were at a period of wars in West Africa(some of which was incited by Europeans), warring nations raiding neighbouring cities and captured their people 3. We found a new way to deal with criminals rather than jail, banishment and sacrifice But my/your ancestors should have known better than to trust total foreigners over your neighbours That's still a huge problem in West Africa today |
