cbrass: You are very wrong, pls stop peddling lies for Godsake!! Ooni will always remain a high priest that he has always been and it will remain like that. Or what is the meaning of the word Ooni to you, you people know the truth but will always run away from it. The standadised and must popular and recognised language is the Oyo language and culture from which all other yoruba regions drew theirs, why aint we speaking Ife language today doesn't this tell you something here
What lieshuh High priesthuh Wat high priest function is the Ooni even performing?? although some say Ooni has only one day off from rituals and prayers, I don't see the Ooni office being that of a priest??
Let's even say it's a priest? So what? Ife has always had king priests from it's earliest known history.

Again with this language?? This shows that you don't know history and what you stated before is wack, you keep bringing up language as if we all don't know why Oyo language is wide spread.
It's simply because of the oyo empire which took much parts of Modern western Nigerian extending to Togo and Benin...like English language spread to the British colonies in Africa

The coming Christian missionaries also further pushed the oyo language which is the root of the so called "standard Yoruba"

But then what has this got to do with Alaafin and Ooni??

all other Yoruba regions didn't draw their culture or language from Oyo?? Other regions have what they stand for, their own language or dialect which got nothing to do with Oyo
There are many people in my Village who can't speak "Yoruba" they speak Ekiti which an Oyo man would never understand

pazienza: There is nowhere in Nigeria known as Odualand, what we have are states.Only states are recognized by the constitution.

A Nigerian can live in any Nigerian state, irrespective of what a person from a backward state thinks.

So, like you were asked before, why did you leave your poverty stricken Osun state, for Lagos,an FG built state, aka a no man's land?
You are a big idiotic and uneducated individual

FG never built Lagos state, Lagos state was built by the grace of Olokun

FG has no running project in Lagos state
FG isn't of the same party as LASG
in the whole Lagos only ikoyi, Victoria island and Lagos Island were Nigeria's capital...this is only about 30% of the entire state as it is today

Go get some education you fool

stinggy: Don't twist history pls, there wasn't Oyo at the time. He went back to Ife to inherit his father's throne but left disappointed to establish Oyo as the first Alaafin
Lol grin where did u hear this?

Because as I know, Obalufon was king of ife when Oranmiyan left Oyo to take back the throne of his fathers. This made Obalufon run to Ekiti region.
Why would Oranmiyan be disappointedhuh

unless you can show me how am wrong and you right.

alexleo: Air is invisible yet we feel it and also see
the impact. Electric current is invisible yet
we see its effect on our appliances. When
u also touch a live wire u feel the shock
of the current. God (you can call him
source of creation if you like) is invisible
yet we see his creative work. Those of us
who have had encounter with him feels
his presence within us. Nothing states
that what you have not experienced or
encountered does not exist.
I am talking about the source of creation.
For such a source that creation came
from, it has characteristics of which
creativity is one of them. If the source can
be creative why should you rule out the
fact that there are other attributes
attached to the source? Does it take
nothing to be creative?
For a source through which creatures
with emotions etc came out from, you
can't just rule out things just like that.
You are looking at the source as a man.
And as a being In your exact appearance.
That's not what I'm looking at.
Quick question...is God more wind than
human??
Since by your explanation, he seems to share
more with air than men

He is invisible. He is everywhere. You don't
even need to attach him to any religion. Just
talk to him as the creator and tell him you
want to feel his presence in your life. If you
are sincere, you will witness him.
Many atheists that converted to christianity
started out with him as the creator. They had
several encounter with him under no
religion. It was after some time that they got
their convictions and joined christianity.
grin grin selling his religion in the guise of "you don't have to follow religion"

It no use going in circle with you since u refused to use your head for what it is meant for.
6 years old of more than 1400 years ago is the same with today present 6 year old ba? Ok o I hear you
Society that will not accept child marriage won't accept it and we are not denying that.
There's no verse in the Quran that says you should marry a child. Gypsies in Europe marry as early as 9 buh no one is talking because it is their culture.
Don't quote me again!!
It seems you are naturally daft or jst been stupefied by Islam

6yrs old remains 6yrs old..doesn't matter what age or era. Everybody knows 6yrs old is a young child whether 3000yrs ago or now

The fact that Arabs have no problem marrying 6 year olds doesn't mean an African man should do the same in the name of "Islam is ok with it"
Yoruba traditions like many in Africa(if not all) is against child marriage. Only fools who have turned themselves to Arab slaves engage in this

Simple as that, your Islamic blindness has shut ur reasoning

macof: Foly let's discuss the nature of Aganju, Sango's father.
Aganju presides over wat exactly? I've seen santeria articles saying he is Orisha of volcanoes and deserted places but I think being Sango's father it would have more to do with the Sun

Have u ever heard from a Babalawo anything on Aganju?
From wikipedia
Aganjú is aforce that, like the sun that is his symbol, is essential for growth, as well as a cultivator of civilizations.
Aganjú is noted for his legendary strength and his ability to bring about drastic change.
Aganju is heavily associated with Shango, with some stating that he is Shango's father
according to what I have read, Aganju is the force in Hot places and the unknown/unexplored eg. Deserts, Volcanoes
He is responsible for the mysteries of the unknown and burning desires/emotions i.e anger, hatred, curiosity etc.

@folykaze.

Orungan represents Solar Air, i.e Oxygen (emitted from the Sun's heliosphere) which literally intermingle with hydrogen across the atmosphere to produce Water on earth.
If Aganju is Shango's father as well as Orungan than he should be related to the Solar energy which possess thermal energy that charges up in the atmosphere as one major component of lightening. Today this same thermal energy is converted artificially to produce electricity

Helium is a gas of unusual high temperature, it is responsible for the heat we get from the Sun.
and Thermal energy is the energy of a single body by virtue of temperature.

All these has made me see a side of Aganju I never realized

Its not an Islamic teaching to say you must do this!

6years old is 6yrs old, there's nothing like "what they look like then"

Arabs are known for paedophilia, it's a shame on a non-Arab to copy Arabs to the extent of engaging in child marriage which is a sin where I come from

There are no Igbos in yolobarland except Lagos which is a no man's land and FG enclave..

The reason you cannot find Igbos in yolobarland is that Igbos do not live in mud house because rural areas as ibadan, abeokuta, oshogbo etc were all built 100% with red earth mud and rustuc zinc..
Igbos are everywhere, both rugged Towns and nice cities all around Yorubaland

Even in Lagos, you find Igbo most in the Ghetto areas in places like Ajegunle where many Yoruba can't even reside

Zeinymira: How could he do this?
Every society has its norms.
Every culture has its norms.
If the norm of today society is that a woman should marry at 18,tomorrow it might be 2o even 30.
Does that mean that those who married someone 18 years old many years back are paedophille?
It depends on the norms
Islam does not force you or me to marry at that age.
It has to do with our society.
In some part of Europe, the gypsies marry as early as 6,9,13,they even have their first baby at 12 but no one is talking!!!
U can google.
Some 9 year old looks like 20year old in some other countries.
We are not interested in this arguement.

Buh am sure this won't stop you guys from asking this kwesion all over again
True one should respect people's culture but it's utter stupidity and slavery for an African coming from a culture that frowns against child marriage to pick up Arab culture and traditions like that.
