LOLZ what about the statues, figurines the pagans carry about and bow down to? undecided
This would be long to explain, A thread would be good for this because u can't understand easily

I'm a yoruba, how will I hate the thing about yoruba infact it is interesting knowing the roots of my culture and am enjoying the debate with you smiley
You are Yoruba? Wat tribe? Wats ur clan name? Where's your family house? Who's ur guiding Orisha? How far back can u trace ur ancestral origin? Do u know ur clan's oriki?
I doubt u have the answers to any of these.

The Olorun in the Quran has no other gods associated with him, he's the the ONLY true God of the universe whether you like it or not smiley
Because the Koran is false
Olorun is the Supreme God above all others NOT the only God

Ur Yoruba muslims are just looking for where to rest with the Yoruba language you had to bring out our pagan God like u do with the Arab pagan God

If sango and orisa oke is recognized in other countries why ranting around this thread about Allah and Yaweh??

Go to South America you see people who were never brainwashed, who never gave up and gave in to the white men's orders.
Real slavery is wat Somalia has become to Arabia, No chains, No being shipped away but right there in ur home u slave urself to Their will and of course do not see this because of ur high brainwash.

I think you have comprehension difficulties. This is what I said when I was replied back to PAGAN 9JA.
When u post in a comprehensive manner than everyone would understand as u wish

"We don't think the pagan culture has survived, we just see it as stories much like the Europeans regard Cinderella, The Ugly Duckling and etc. as just stories. "
and that's the first damage Islam did to ur people.
It destroyed your culture and turned it's stories to mere fairytales

Now if you see my previous commentes you would know that I am not talking about my ancestors nor am I talking about Waaq but I am talking about Nidar, Qorismaris and Dhegdheer. It is true that these are only stories, ask the next Somali you see.
I have resolved this already, why take us back?

Prophet Muhammad's father was called Abdullah which means 'servant of God' this doesn't mean Allah or Hubal or whatever little god you are making up here, it just means god and it doesn't specify which one. As for you saying that Hubal is Allah lol proof or keep your mouth shut.
lol with this logic

If I'm brainwashed then so be it, Islam is wonderful Alhamdoulillah.
It bothers me because Africa has suffered a lot and Islam is holding us captive. U are happy being like this because u have been brainwashed now like a puppet.

Your ancestors were glorious pagans but some Arabs go and tell you that ur ancestors are going to hell and so are u if u continue in their ways and u blindly believe.

tintingz: Read my post again? Mohammed(sa) didn't just brought Allah up, the mecca pagans knew about Allah to be their creator the fact that Abraham(as) faith was a monotheism and he built the temple(kaaba)...Mohammed(sa) used Allah as God the same way Elaha in hebrew Olorun in yoruba for the people to understand what he's preaching. The mecca pagans only associated other gods with Allah(SWT) which Allah condemned in the Quran.
All this are simple twisting and beating around the bush and Iam not in a good mood to argue further.

I didn't want to comment cause I saw this as a stupidd topic
But for the sake of many on NL

We Pagans serve the true Gods of the world as Our fathers did.

And in Yoruba paganism Only Ori saves
The atheist are and cannot be considered Enemies(neither are Christians or muslims)
Most atheist are working in line with their Ori

In ancient times many Pagans were more atheistic than theistic

Paganism doesn't force anyone to Worship- recognition is all that is required.
Most atheist I have met recognize these forces as they are but of course do not worship them.

Many Modern Pagans don't worship either, They only honor their Ori

Paganism is simply subscribing to the beliefs of your ancestors and respect for Nature.
It's not about Giving sacrifice or pouring oil on statues, it's about consciousness

LOL this is no diff with the christians trinity concept grin Olorun, Olodumare, Olofi? To us Muslims Olorun is NOT an idol maybe the yoruba translator of the Quran used Olorun as God the same way esu was used for satan but that does not mean we worship an idol.
Olorun/Olodumare is the creator, The father of all, so when muslims and Christians call Olorun they call the pagan creator God of the Yorubas and not Allah or Yahweh.

It is not the same with Christian trinity.
It's just a trinity.

To Us Pagans Olorun is not an idol either, Olorun doesn't even have an Idol/statue.

Nobody worships an Idol- ignorance and limited knowledge are ur best traits.

Olorun in the Quran is the creator of everything not an idol, the ONLY true Supreme GOD of the universe.

tintingz: Hubal and Allah are not the same Islamicaly, yes the Allah might be used by the mecca pagans but that does not mean Allah is an idol in Islam just like Olorun used by the yoruba pagans and the muslims and christians as well.

Some scholars have suggested that Muḥammad used the term Allah in addressing both pagan Arabs and Jews or Christians in order to establish a common ground for the understanding of the name for God, a claim Gerhard Böwering says is doubtful.[30] According to Böwering, in contrast with pre-Islamic Arabian polytheism, God in Islam does not have associates and companions, nor is there any kinship between God and jinn. Pre-Islamic pagan Arabs believed in a blind, powerful, inexorable and insensible fate over which man had no control. This was replaced with the Islamic notion of a powerful but provident and merciful God.[36] According to Francis Edwards Peters, "The Qur’ān insists, Muslims believe, and historians affirm that Muhammad and his followers worship the same God as the Jews ( 29:46 ). The Qur’an's Allah is the same Creator God who covenanted with Abraham".

The Aramaic word for "God" in the language of Assyrian Christians is ʼĔlāhā, or Alaha. Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word "Allah" to mean "God". The Christian Arabs of today have no other word for "God" than "Allah".[15] (Even the Arabic-descended Maltese language of Malta, whose population is almost entirely Roman Catholic, uses Alla for "God".)

shymexx: Sorry for the late reply. It's xmas season and I've been busy.

Anyway, it's here in Galatians 4:21-31 (KJV):

21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
So then Paul is trying to say Arabs are in bondage while Jews are Freeborns

Allah is not hubal, hubal was a pagan idol(moon-god), Allah is the God of heavens and earth, El(Ellah) is God in hebrew lang related to Allah in arabic lang.

Olorun is God in yoruba language stop given false details, the yorubas use both Olorun, Olodumare as God the asheda(creator), God has many names attributed to his greatness.
very funny for me arguing a spirituality u know nothing about, but I'll educate u because that's wat Iam here to do.

Olorun(owner of heaven) is the same God as Olodumare but with a different role on the universe.
Olorun keeps the Sun, and rules the sky giving All life the adequate amount of Energy needed. This doesn't separate Olorun from Olodumare it is simply a reference to specific roles in the universe.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olorun
Here's a little detail ^^^

You are confused fella given false details, If Olorun is a pagan god then why do yoruba muslims and christians use it as well?
again God has many names attributed to his greatness, kinda busy now...will explain when am less busy
Lol Esu doesn't cause confusion to those who recognize him.

Olorun has been worshipped in Yoruba paganism since the beginning of Ile-Ife

Wat other names could muslims and Christians call their God in Yoruba language? since they foolish try to claim their God as only God

If u belief Yoruba worshipped God as Olorun why are u are Muslim? Why not remain in the worship of Olorun?

You are confusing yourself, you said Olorun is not Olodumare now both are the same, I thought you said both are not the same grin
I can see your problem grin
smh, u are the one with the problem of understanding common English.
I said Olorun and Olodumare are same God with different roles attributed to those names.
Olodumare, Olofin, Olorun are Same God honored as the supreme God of the Omniverse but it not merely a different name but a different attribute goes with the name.

You are not exposed to Yoruba religion I do not expect u to understand quickly.
So Orisa oke is a jewish god? grin lol
Technically yes, Orisha Oke is a God everywhere whether recognized or not it doesn't change the fact that he is the mountain God.
The Canaanites worshipped Orisha Oke with the name of Yahweh/El Shaddai and Israel adopted his worship through Abraham who's former God was Naana(same as Hubal in Arabic)

LOLZ...again God has many names attributed to his greatness, stop posting false details, you are just blabing rubbish. Maybe you know better that the jews lang(hebrew).
If we go by ur mentality Sango, Ogun, Yemoja, Obatala are also names of God.

To find the true identify of a God and the roles attributed to his name you need to study the earliest history of the name and the study the history of his worshipers.
This I am doing on Yahweh and Allah and a lot of things have been revealed to me

Pastor Olu T: Seeing and knowing things about the spirit world!
Even if ur teaching do not negate Jesus, bt know that Jesus said He is the only way to salvation.

So what do u say about Jesus being the only way n salvation?
I have once experienced the feeling of the spirit world; I was defending by body from intruding spirits and I won- this I felt

Jesus said so, doesn't mean everyone should take that as universal truth.
Different people with different understanding, No human can achieve perfect knowledge of the universe

I say that was made up, because it sounds very silly that humans are doomed except they worship a man who died several years ago.
It's Hell that is the driving force- Souls are eternal because they are pure Energy, free bound and unrestricted.
I cannot say about the existence of a "hell" for souls, but this Christian hell is total fiction because Souls cannot feel pain from fire lmao.

If we think about it properly, we would resolve that non-Christians are doomed already, that's over 60% of the world's population.
Christians don't believe in reincarnation, calculate all humans that have lived from Jesus till now, that would be Trillions and Trillions upon people on judgment day.

A hell which is God's punishment for not accepting his son(Jesus). Wat about those who never heard of Jesus?
In Yorubaland about 400yrs ago No one ever heard of Jesus, wat happens to those ones?

According to Christian doctrines, Spirituality is fetish and Evil just to eliminate the competition, But I have seen Powers here being used for more good than u can imagine, nothing evil about Spirituality, We gain powers from Nature around us, a conversion of energy to work for use in the physical realm, it's how some people use the powers that are evil and not the power or system itself.

Everything Christian God is about Israel, even Christians refer to Abraham as their father- do you share any ancestral blood ties with Abraham?
This shows that the Christian God is one centered, he is not universal and as such Jesus his son cannot possibly reflect all mankind when his father has been an Israel God all along

If Jesus truly is for all mankind, Everyone would have known him, there should have been prophecies about him in China, Ile-Ife, Rome, Egypt, Somalia etc. but there was none. How can such an important figure be coming and No prophecy? When kings or Great warriors are to be born there are prophecies talkless of A Messiah of all mankind.
Even the verses of the Bible that Christians claim to be prophecy made by Jews about Jesus can be disproved.

Now the main point Salvation: This simply refers to "being saved", In most Instituted spiritualities only u can save urself, Ur acts and deeds in life are to be checked those who do bad are punished by the measure of their deeds and those who do good are blessed in the same manner. A Jesus would mean the law of karma is dead and All there is to salvation is accepting Jesus after all the bad u do.

I do not see the point of Jesus, because the world existed fine before him and is still doing so after him.

yousuf12: No that's what you think. Hubal was never called Allah so stop coming up with funny theories just because you want brand Islam as an Arabian religion.

If you want to talk about the Arabian pagan religion start a new topic for us because what we are talking about is beside the original poster's topic.
For the reason of not causing a total derail of the topic, I'll stop here.

Dhaqan means culture in Somali not religion. Same with Hiddo, it means tradition.

All Nidar, Qorismaris, Dhegdheer and the others are just tales or stories that most Somali kids are told when they are young, Somali bed time stories basically. Ayaanle is a good spirit as you said and not a god.
The only god we had was Waaq.
And why didnt your people continue honoring Waaq? The God of ur ancestors

I find it a dehumanizing act to personally sell oneself into foreign brainwash.
Wats wrong wit Waaq and the way he was worshipped that you all had to give in to a foreign God?

tintingz: And where is the prove that Abraham didn't built the Ka'aba, even the mecca pagans knew the ka'ba was built by Abraham and Ishmael, Abraham was the forefather of the jews and arabs(Ishmael and Isaac).
Show me proof that he built it, and I'll show u evidence that Mohamed was lying
LOLZ...epic fail the ka'ba was consisted of 360 idols not 300 which Mohammed(sa) destroyed, Allah was the name of God(Abraham's faith) which the pagans believed in but worship along other gods with Allah. Una wan spoil the image of Islam finish grin
you have problem with English- didn't u see "over 300 gods.

Allah aka hubal was the Arabic name for Abraham's God in Mesopotamia before He left and devoted himself to El Shaddai in a foreign land.

If you are a yoruba you should tell us who is "Olorun" why is that both christians and muslims use "Olorun" as God the same way the pagans used it as well with other gods.
Olorun is one of the manifestation of Olodumare, the other is Olofin.

Christians and muslims are confused fools who don't know the God they worship. Olorun is a Yoruba pagan God- God of the sky and owner of the Sun.
Ancient Yoruba spirituality worshipped the Sun God, but we stopped a long time ago and recognized the Sun as Olorun's property as Olodumare's ball of Ase(energy/lifeforce)

"Olorun" is not used for other Gods, Olorun is Olodumare-The supreme God
Call it a trinity Olodumare, Olorun, Olofin but they are the same God wit different attributed roles in the universe

wat the Christians do is simply out of stupiditi and lack of knowledge, To refer Yahweh as Olorun. Yahweh is same as Orisha Oke and Yoruba pagans can never refer to Orisha oke with "Olorun"
And where did Allah said his worshipers should be killed? undecided

Allah is the arabic word for God, El(Ellah) is the hebrew word for God, they sound almost the same because both are brothers in language.
Allah means "the God", El means "God"

There were many "El" in Abraham's days in canaanland but He adopted El Shaddai means God of mountains

In Canaan, El Elyon was the supreme God and creator not Abraham's God El Shaddai.
Notice "El" is used to refer any "God"
El Elyon is wat means "God most High, and El Elyon is the supreme not Yahweh(Abraham's God
If Allah is truly The one true God(which he is not) he would not instigate the killing of pagans in Arabia and neighboring places because they all worshipped him
Abraham(as) didn't left God for any gods.
Abraham was born in Ur kasdim a country in the Mesopotamian region were Naana was worshipped as the Moon God, same attributes equate Naana with Allah.
Creator God, Moon God and chief of the Gods.

When Abraham left his home he also left this God and embraced another God(El Shaddai) who was worshipped as the mountain God
