Ranting that lack basic logic. If you can prove that these are the ones that Killed her husband or you can prove that one or two of them participated in killing her husband then you would have made some sense. These are foot solders, you can't win a guerrilla war without allowing those that want to surrender the opportunity. What you do is go after the leaders but you have to allow the foot solders that have not been accused of any particular crime to surrender. If you don't do that, you will NEVER end the chaos. In fact some of these people are also victim of the Boko Haram criminals because some of them where forced to join as kids. This is not new, this has been going on before World war 1, WW2, Vietnam War and many many other wars where foot solders are allowed to surrender while you go after their leaders. Does Nigeria or even the USA have the capacity to try all these terrorists ? Even the US just made peace with the Taliban that has killed many many US solders, they are not even going after their leaders anymore unless they pick up arms again. Some of you online keyboard warriors just post rubbish out of sentiment but totally devoid of logic and common sense. Go to South America, in Columbia they did the same thing, giving the FARC amnesty after decades of fighting, try Nicaragua, try any of the countries that have gone through similar experiences.
I feel bad for her but Nigeria as a country to move forward. If there's prove of the specific terrorist that killed her husband and was granted amnesty then she will have a point but to expect the govt to prosecute 1000s of these Boko Haram people is not being realistic and living on false narratives. Nigeria that is incapable of trying a single person without all the circus and drama is now expected to try thousands of Boko Haram members. Yeah keep living in lala land. May you have an encounter with these "foot soldiers".Right now, we cant compare her statement with yours, because you havent had her experience. May you have this experience with these "foot soldiers". |

matrixme: Pele. Congratulations on your comment. Typical Nigerian attitude of some imaginary "bad belle people" always after your progress. I'm sure you're thinking I'm one of those village people that feels hurt the young guy has a first class. "Offended by excellence". Is that a thing now? Well, Einstein, it doesn't take a first class to add value to life. Rihanna just became the first female billionaire. I doubt if she had First Class in Music. https://www.nairaland.com/2480780/reasons-why-first-class-students Again, quite rich of you to think that "First Class" are not value-driven. Very rich I am sorry if that hurts you. I am here and would be here to encourage students who are in 3rd Class level to at least, if they can, move into a 2.2 or 2.1 level; 2.2 CGPA students, I would encourage them and teach them how to work hard to get to the 2.1 space and for 2.1 students, I would encourage and support them on ways in achieveing a 1st, while being a balanced student. Pele. I do not care about your feelings towards my encourage of excellence on NL, particularly, academic excellence. I wish I did care, but like you'd imagine, I do not |

matrixme: Sorry, bro First Class. I can see how you literally glamorize being in the "first class club" from your posts. It's not a criteria to succeed in today's world. It only helps. The topshots in the world are not first class people. Just add value to life. That's what's important. Quite rich of you to think that "First Class" are not value-driven. I am sorry that it hurts you. Honestly, I am still struggling to understand why people are hurt and offended by excellence. Can you tell me why? For me excellence in any field of life is a motivation and, if you've noticed my posts, beyond "First Class", I celebrate excellence. Congratulate the guy and move on. |

I gazed on in amusement as a professor retired sometime ago in a rather unceremonious manner. I could see his melancholic face as he gave his retirement speech, telling of various tales regarding sufferings he had to endure while on the job as though he's trying to motivate the junior collegeaues. I could see his facial expressions carried the "what next" remark in the evening as the event came to a close. He didn't seem a man happy to be retiring, probably unsure if he'll get his pensions. The best thing you can do as a Nigerian academic is to leave Nigeria. This would be very selfish, but what are the alternatives? |

Kobojunkie: So, striving towards SINLESSNESS aka Perfection or Holiness, as commanded by Jesus Christ in the New Covenant amounts to pretty much the same thing as that which rules in even the world today?
So, where Jesus Christ teaches His followers , in Mattthew 25 vs 14 - 30 , the parable of the 10 talents, that in His Kingdom, they ought to us the little they have in order to be given more, .e.g. understanding, applies to this context how?
And what Jesus Christ said in John 15 vs 1 - 16, of the need for His own to abide in Him in other that He may abide in them so they can produce fruits through the doing of good(righteous) works just as He did and more, applies here how? Oga, I am not here to argue with you . Folks like you do not argue to gain understanding. You argue because it is a sport for you. I dont have that time. Believe me, my 24 hours is busier than most Nigerians in Nigeria. |

HigherEd: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2484752211668635&id=444807728996437 When I read the reactions of Nigerians to the disengagement, I had a few conclusions. 1. First, it is either Nigerians are extremely ignorant or the Church hasnt done very well by telling Nigerians that concepts like, "strive towards perfection", "peformance", "results", "outputs" doesnt have its foundation in Capitalism, but in Scriptures. John 15: 8; Matthew 25:14–30; Daniel 6: 3, etc. Like, even Christ cursed to withering at its roots, a fig tree that didnt bear fruits! 2. Secondly, Nigerians once again proved their lack of depth and cowardly disposition towards what they consider "easy targets". Anyone who wants to critique should, I would think, do more research about what you are critiquing. And the cowardly targetting of the church is now visibly quite funny. No serious person takes them serious. 3. Thirdly, many Nigerians are hypocrites. How can you argue for a performance-driven Nigeria and criticise a performance-driven Church in Nigeria? Should the Church be treated by another (lower) standard or do you really want performance at all? No wonder Nigeria is what she is today 4. Finally, "woke" Nigerians are comedians. I would suggest they find ways to take over IG comedy skits. They will add more value that way. |

meobizy: Without names, this report means nothing. This is no different from Wike’s speeches of “they are after my government. They give me sleepless nights” and no single person is fingered in the claims. She should go and sleep. This is a waste of a publication. You should save this post for the police. They are the ones to INVESTIGATE claims like this. This is how things work, my friend. |
