At this point, it's only those FPI that knows what will bring them back. We can only speculate. Zenith once traded below N9.00 (very low prices) and they are still the one's that crashed the price. Lets keep watching though, but while watching we need to know when and where to take position before we go turn Aaron at the end of the day.
men, that will be God sent......I will borrow millions to buy zenith at sub #10...... I no go do the same mistake twice

This might sound like a conspiracy theory.¨

I kind of use my trading acct like a savings acct and have been waiting for stocks to come down so as to reload, but low and behold they never did for past six month.... In the space of last 3 weeks I have bought and finished everything in my cash acct, now look at how the prices are dropping, i Have been waiting since Jan for prices to drop like this but no they wont drop, now for me to enter at some bargain prices I will have to sell some and rebuy.......

I believe the top brokers know the amount of fresh money in the market and how to swallow it.....look at Union Bank...... I sold at #7, It is still dancing circa that price waiting for guillible ones to jump in, but wema I did not sell at #1 is on a free fall......

I still ask, why does BABA hate petroleum marketers, except for Total and to some extent Mobil....Petroleum marketers are finding it hard in this regime... and I am so heavy there

I believe UBA makes more money than GTB and Zenith. But decides to always declare less. Elumelu knows best.
Asset wise UBA is greater than GTB and a little closer to Zenith......It is how they use it... In Deepsuks language, GTB is like a lover with an average coc.k that knows how to use it to satisfy a woman while UBA and Zenith are brute force Niggas that will keep hitting u hard till you come........... Bros Access is the most brutish of them all, They rape all in their way....

I am mulling this stock after I wait for the beating it will get from the market.... If it can get to #10 vicinity I might hop in.......they have restarted their Ororo and Tomato Plants back......This is a very fiercely competitive market, but I am happy to see local bukas now try their maggi and they say it is comparable to chicken flavor maggi..... I will watch the push out of their tomato paste, i have not seen their Ororo brand but I believe it is coming up soon.....

The equipment to refine salt, ororo and produce tomato paste are of comparable cost, they have gotten the success formulae for salt, any new winner between vegetable oil and tomato paste will definitely add significantly to the companies top line.....

For now its a waiting game.

seriously, for me a dividend hunters 10% witholding tax is too much to give away....Imagine waiting for a million naira dividend and the govt slashes 100k as, then banks collect their pennies, what I now get is even lower than 900k.......Gradually,i am seeing the deal in capital appreciation, kpata kpata brokerage charges is just 5%.

Getting the details of those numbers is not even hard at all now. They all have notes added to them.

Tax credit 85bn (32)

that number in the bracket is the note that explains how that amount came about.

so by just scrolling through the long notes to note 32 the details are seen.
ok sir noted

Great insight sir.

Now I think the tax credit that comes from building roads is quite different from the ones he's been enjoying from the pioneer status.

In the case of the road construction, you build a road for say 12bn, the government says, "hey we knock off 12bn from your tax obligations" Now you still have to bear some costs building that road. The net profit may eventually be 2bn, and your own share of it may just be 1bn-seeing that you involved a separate construction company.

so that's 1bn.

In the case of pioneer status, you have about 30mtpa capacity across four production lines, and you only need to produce 18mtpa to meet available demands.

Now 2 of your lines are old, and have lost their pioneer status, but the two remaining ones are relatively new and still qualify. So you just produce about 15mtpa from the two lines, while you produce the remaining 3mtpa from the old lines.

The result is you have about 30% of say 240bn that is due as tax. But you never pay a dime. 80bn in free tax money

Now compare 1bn to 80bn, and the difference is quite clear.

I wasn't here when the DANGCEM's results were analysed, but I hope it was noticed that the major cause of the profit spike was tax credit. I also hope that it was noticed that this tax credit isn't from the road construction, rather the report says, THEY APPLIED FOR PIONEER STATUS ON SOME OF THEIR PRODUCTION LINES, BUT WHILE THEY WERE YET TO GET THE APPROVAL, THEY HAD BEEN MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE TAX OBLIGATIONS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS' EARNINGS so late last year, they got the approval and decided to write back those provisions, so in effect part of the earnings declared in FY 2018 were made in 2017, 2016 and I guess 2015."
Good insight.....Im still learning on how to add accounting numbers, but I have to admit Im just swayed about Alhajis midas touch on generating profit..........I know the bulk of the cash is being sunk in his refinery.

Anyway we learn day by day

The tax credit is a one-off now. We have to discount that. And I think the large pay-out ratio is perhaps cos Alhaji needs some cash to fund projects.

People are aware these 100% PAT growth and over 80% dividend pay-out are not things sustainable.

Without the tax credit in FY 19, and with the pioneer status expiring on some of the Obajana Lines, 2019 PE is gonna drop by close to 40% from 2018.
Price hikes aren't likely because should there be any significant hikes, folks may again start smuggling in cement.

Volume growth across the group (I mean the pan African operations) may only contribute minimally to EPS growth.

So, in all some of us still think it's over priced.
Alhaji has secured more tax credit with Executive order 7 to build roads which will be handled by his construction arm and the Chinese(CCECC), He has also applied for pioneer Status extension at the relevant agencies and is close to approval as ate the time of filing the annual report........The issue of smuggling cement is a NO NO as the price per 50kg bag of cement is #2500, a big disincentives for Firewall guys when a bag of rice goes for #12,000......The international price of cement is approximately #1000 from countries with excellent infrastructure, Cement is one of the most useless goods to transport by road as it is extremely expensive,Rail would have been better but this is Nigeria.......Good Economist just laugh at the country and its policy formulators, The chest beat that they have built roads , but most Roads in the country are designed for cars weighing 1ton and a maximum of 10 ton trucks, but we allow Cement Trucks and Tanker weighing over 60tons to ply the roads and people wonder why roads dont last more than 4years.........

Alhaji is the King of Cement in Nigeria, The Government of the day will just play into his hands

In my own opinion, Julius Berger performance was flat, Going forward I will follow closely how many new contracts they sign and how willingly the government complete projects given to them.....JBerger can definitely do way way better than what they are doing now, also the advent of CCECC is a big concern, most major construction sites this days is riddled with these Chinese dudes and CCECC has been winning more contracts than JBerger......I dont see JBerger rallying much on this result.
The Government should also plan to force the likes of CCECC to list on our NSE, the wayy they forced MTN to comply.......

Let's not be too carried away with this Access/diamond merger ooooo.

Access is very wise. From my calculation, all they are working towards is the initial 3.13 they promised diamond shareholders, the extra 1naira inclusive.
I may be wrong but here is my calculation:
Price of Access as at today 20/03/2019 = 6.50
Price of Diamond as at cob xtyday = 2.45
6.50 X 2 = 13naira
DMD: 2.45 x 7 = 17.15naira.
Actual unit price of DMD in terms of Access = 13÷7 = 1.86
Now DMD shareholders share conversion = 1.86 + 1 + 0.25 = 3.11 ~ approximately 3.13.

I already said I may be wrong oooo, make Una no too bash me. grin grin
No, I think Wigwe and his cohorts are thinking of how they will dislodge zenith and Fbnh from the juicy deals that characterise their industry
