Love800:It depends on quantity, if you are a small time you can get anywhere, however if you are commercial you can buy trailer loads in Niger state. You can experiment till you get it right. Using local easily sourced materials will drive down prices. |
pocom16:Let the truth be told, for all that monopoly we give Dangote and his cohort, their presence should be better felt. Most investors assist the communities they make money from. |
IbeOkehie:nice write up ! What do you have to say about there still being subsidy as of now. I am here from some quarters, there is still subsidy as the governement has balked from allowing free floating petrol prices. IF they let it be determined by only market forces. It will cause more uprisings. |
The livers are not complaining. Healthy Liver, Happy Life.
|
nairalanda1:Dont get me wrong. I am 100% in support of removing subsidies. But you dont replace the roof of your house in the rainy season. |
Finally the administration is waking up. You have to tackle the problems before they arise. Sniff out the troublemakers, cut them a deal or strike the ring leader. |
If the government removes anymore subsidy at this current point. They will be kicked out before next elections. Nigerians trust politicians too much, thats why we are in this mess. There is no guarantee the removed subsidy will not be looted or end up in the pockets of corrupt politicians. Truth be told, the government needs to account for the removed subsidy every quarter, we need to see how the money is being spent. |
Why does Peter Obi, not intervene in his party squabbles ? Let him come out and issue a statement as elder of the Party. Your house cannot be burning, but everyday you show more concern for your neighbors house. |
This kind of news is what Nigeria needs. Drown out the naysayers , release good news everyday. Yes, things are bad today......but "renew the hope" everyday. |
Truth be told there are a lot of opportunist trying to exploit the chaos. If not why would cement, getting free limestone (main raw material), getting free laterite With cheap labour, not paying raw materials fee to government Not paying to the states they are located Not developing the states, they are situated in. OBAJANA is the largest in Africa, producing over 10 million tonnes per year ! No unionized workers, health insurance, benefits. No community projects, with the money they make in Kogi, there should be a University built for Kogi state. After all these freebies, they are increasing cement prices. Tinubu should set up a committee to issue more cement manufacturing licenses to prominent stakeholders and watch the price of cement come down fast.

Any monopoly that hikes price, blame it on inadequate supply to meet the demand and go after their privileged monopoly

Cement should be cheaper... Raw materials obtained for free... Labour is cheaper, now that naira has fallen.... Government should get rid of cement Monopolies, open up the market. Cement manufacturers are exploiting ongoing crises. |
How many kidney failure were prevented ? How many liver disease ? How much money would we have spent on healthcare, kidney failure and liver failure ? But truth be told we want to see the government ban looting and corruption amongst politicians as well, with similar energy
|
Not a fan of demolition, if you want to make them Sharia compliant. Make laws to that effect. If you want to turn the structures to hospitals, shops, schools. But damaging people's sweat......never stimulates growth in any state. And you wonder why the IGR in Gombe is low. No investor would bring a million dollars to Gombe state if the Governor demolishes peoples property without due process. There are so many ways to curb social immorality. When the owners of these structures you have destroyed turn to kidnappers. The same governor will run to Abuja and start begging for help |
airsaylongcome:This is where science and technology would help, we have to create cheaper less expensive animal feeds. Cassava peel meal is a byproduct of cassava processing and is often discarded or underutilized. However, it can be dried, ground, and incorporated into poultry feeds as a source of energy and fiber. Cassava peel meal is relatively inexpensive and can help reduce feed costs for poultry farmers. Palm Kernel Cake: Palm kernel cake is a byproduct of palm oil extraction and contains protein, energy, and fiber. It can be used as a supplementary protein source in poultry feeds, especially in combination with other protein-rich ingredients such as soybean meal. Palm kernel cake is generally less expensive than soybean meal, making it a cost-effective option for poultry feed formulation. Brewer's Dried Grains: Brewer's dried grains are a byproduct of the brewing industry and contain protein, fiber, and some residual carbohydrates. They can be used as a source of protein and energy in poultry feeds, particularly for broilers and layers. Brewer's dried grains are often available at relatively low cost and can help reduce feed expenses for poultry farmers. Groundnut Cake: Groundnut cake, also known as peanut cake or peanut meal, is a byproduct of peanut oil extraction. It contains protein, fat, and fiber and can be used as a protein source in poultry feeds. Groundnut cake is commonly available in Nigeria and is generally less expensive than other protein-rich feed ingredients such as soybean meal. Feather Meal: Feather meal is a byproduct of poultry processing and contains protein and minerals. While feathers are not typically consumed by poultry, they can be processed into feather meal through hydrolysis or steam treatment. Feather meal can be used as a source of protein in poultry feeds, particularly for broilers and layers. It is often less expensive than other protein-rich feed ingredients such as fish meal or meat meal. Cocoyam: Cocoyam is a root vegetable that is widely grown in Nigeria and contains carbohydrates, fiber, and some minerals. It can be boiled, mashed, and included in poultry feeds as a source of energy and fiber. Cocoyam is relatively inexpensive and can help reduce feed costs for poultry farmers. |
Raise chickens for meat and poultry Raise rabbits for proteins Explore cassava options Limit what you purchase Start food coops in densely populated areas. buy in bulk to reduce overhead. Time to get creative. |
Structure the BDC. They have to be registered. Anybody caught operating BDC without a license should be arrested and prosecuted. If you have control of the BDC, Then you can flush in Dollars to control the exchange rate. But now the basket has too many holes, Even if CBN flushes in 10 billion dollars, it wont stop the naira falling. Currency trade is tied to national security. They all have to be registered. Inflow and outflow should be recorded Anyone that changes more than $10,000 cash to naira or vice versa, the authorities should be notified. And preferably the transaction should involve a bank account of either BDC or customer. Sell bureau de change licenses, sell to one or two prominent BDC'S and let them open and run shops, so that you can regulate them. Everybody cannot be running around as independent BDC, who knows if they also give information to kidnappers ? If you change $20000 weekly, whats stops the BDC from serving as informant to kidnappers ? |
Good move Lower prices now or government will issue licenses to more cement manufacturers AKA Government will break the monopoly. |
ReubenE:I disrespect no one. I am not one of those people. Thanks for your reply, I think we are saying similar things in different ways. |
headboyprince:Free insurance?.....lmao My friend nothing is free. A lot of Americans travel abroad for dental work. Go and read about copay and deductible. |
JetApartment:Are spending dollar in Nigeria ? Is America spending naira ? |
We want more of these from other states too. Projects challenge for Governors. I am not the real Governor, I am the Obedient ![]() |
ReubenE:Your English is hard to read. But i will try and explain to you...Food security means making sure Nigerians have enough food to purchase at affordable prices. Food is supply and demand, the demand has not changed people are still eating like they did 2 years ago. What has changed is the supply, In USA, They grow so much corn, they feed their cows corn. In Nigeria if you buy 100 trailers of corn today, the price of corn will go up in the whole country. Thats food insecurity. If we grow so much corn that we export to 20 other African countries, alot of people will be billionaires in dollars,If we produce so much poultry and export as frozen chicken, instead of importing it from cotonou, the economy will improve. I agree there are issues, but Nigeria is so large if more people farm the insecurity will be reduced, We need big equipment farming, tractors, huge storage facilities, silos, coop boards, commodities boards. |
Nigeria needs more farmers not Office workers. You want to be a Billionaire in Nigeria ? This expensive food prices will last for atleast 3-5 years. Start farming today and you will be rich in naira or dollar. Everybody must eat. |
headboyprince: Have you heard the saying "There is no free lunch even in freetown." In UK, the NHS has a long waiting list, if you need some services done you would have to wait 8 months, if you die before then, thats your problem. For the free healthcare. In USA, if you dont have health insurance, you contribute $300/month your employer pays $300 total $600, you wont get free healthcare. If you dont have a job, you will buy health insurance for $500/month and you pay every month wether you are sick or not. Nigerians have a lot of misconception about everything free abroad. Dey Play. The people that wanted free labour and came to africa to capture human beings as slave, you think they will be generous to be giving you good life for free. |
These Lagos boys have mastered it. They are patriotic and have a nationalist agenda when it comes to Lagos state They are taking care of business, although they have a very high IGR. But also Kudos to their structure. There is strength in diversity. Eko oni baáje

headboyprince:You think quality of life abroad is so good......why are the rich and wealthy Nigerians not living where life has a better quality ? Arthur Eze Micheal Adenuga Samad Rabiu Otedola Abi you get sense pass them.....Let them be deceiving you on social media. Na you get sense pass the homeless people sleeping outside in the snow in Europe and America |
Tonytonex:The dollar grew in a healthy fashion The naira's growth has been stunted by looting, corrupt politicians, lack of diversification.....Now the naira is an adult with stunted growth. |
Do you know what you have to do to earn a 100 DOLLARS ? Healthcare: Go to the hospital in the dollar country, ordinary headache they will charge you $350 after insurance deductions and co-pay. In Nigeria, there is no hospital that will charge you $10. Some hospital visits abroad can cost you $50000. (Giving birth with C/S, 1 or 2 days of ICU). In Nigeria you wont spend $500. Education: Come and study in dollar economy let them give you loan with 7% percent compund interests, you will work and die without finish paying for such loans. In Nigeria people study for free and "japa" Thats essentially free human capital, No country in the world allows there manpower to JAPA free of charge. Public Transportation: Compare the airfares and bus fares, $500 tickets is europe or america if you buy last minute, is a cheap ticket. In naija you can walk into Abuja airport and fly to Lagos last minute, with $100. Utilities: Electricity, power and water, Have you paid water bill, heating bill $800 before ? You are comparing dollar to naira ? Telecommunications: Even Internet costs are comparable, phones services, standalone phone servces can cost up to $120 plus taxes for a month. Do you pay that much to sub your phone in a month ? Certain Agricultural Products: Agricultural produce are cheaper in Nigeria, than any dollar economy. A big Mango can be $3-4, Have you ever bought 1 mango for 5000naira ? Meat is cheaper in Nigeria, food stuff even with the cry is still cheaper than abroad. Would you rather earn $5000 and have to spend $4995 for bills and living. Or earn 100,000 naira and spend 50000 naira for bills and living ?

David0002:There was a time you were walking around in diapers. The dollar grew in a healthy fashion The naira's growth has been stunted by looting, corrupt politicians, lack of diversification.....Now the naira is an adult with stunted growth. |
