I think many of these poster are just intellectually juvenile, or intellectually Lazy. 1. First off, how do you expect Akande to real-out the "how" in a press conference, 2years away from election? are you guys that daft? what are the series of upcoming debates for? Did any of the press men at the conference press for further clarification and did not get it? 2. I am of the opinion that less than 5% of the "talk is cheap" bandwagon regurgitating fellows did not even read the report. Few of you are asking how they will generate 40,000 Megawatts in 4-8yers, saying it is impossible and other balderdash......point it why don't you participate in many of the up coming engagement fora and debate sessions to puncture these supposition. Fact it, it's possible to generate the target within the time frame. the manifestor had given posers ranging from coal, wind and other alternative sources, fund is as available as the quality of your blue-print and returns to investors. 3. Are we that shallow in our imagination that we cannot connect the nexus between the consequence of stemming corruption, downsizing the burgeon and overweight government and officials, peace in the Niger delta and North to avalible funding, investment clime, industrialization etc. 4. Well I know our brothers from the East seemingly want to continue with Jonathan. Suit yourselves, but pray you don't loose out as Jonathan is going to loose.... COOLDUN: My dear you are very intelligent, your analyzing skills is amazing keep it up. I was a supporter and voted for the PDP from 1999 but i will be the last idioot to do so again. No one would like to see his child of 12yrs at the same stature. |
Pray, tell me how he's on course? power drops by 40% today, rises by 35% next month only to drop by another 45% month after next. Are you sold on "we are building power stations", that had been in the process since the days of Obasanjo, yet nothing meaningful is coming out of it? I know you lots are ethnically and Religiousity sentimental that you are ready to stake your future with a confused man, than an articulate and innovative one.......well your luck.....
As far as Power generation|Distribution goes, Jonathan is very much on course..
|
...and this has not made the front page? |
He is just simply showing himself as a liar or typing for the fun of it and knows nothing about what he's saying. What roads were there before Aregbe came in? Abeg thekoko007, pls go back to your slate.....
Hahaha..u make me laff....i doubt if u live in osun... Maybe an osun indigene living in lagos or so...... thekoko007: Apc.........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....most of the roads in the pictures have been existing before ogbeni became the governor of osun state.
|
I passed through Alekuwodo on my last visit. I normally take the by-pass close to All Saints coming out by first bank to come in and leave Osogbo, but this morning I was looking for ATM, so I found myself in Alekuwodo. I work was not even completed then yet. I came on NL and told the house what I saw. One spineless character called me a liar, saying he resides in Osogbo and stuffs like there was no drainage system in the road as I described it. Said they were only pulling down houses and building needless fence...... There is Alekuwodo up there in pictures and people can see. I think the picture will not even tell you the detailed level of work or quality. You need to see a road with median, street-lights, drainage channels, sidewalk overlaying the drainage etc..... mayorall: A completed school at Alekuwodo. |
Can any of our brothers from the other side of the divide who has honour and has disparaged Aregbesola in the past tender an unreserved apology..........else you're a ........................(abeg who has some concentrated "epe" ) |
My family visited Osun state twice last year. My wife is still upset with me that I did not fulfil my promise to write an article on what we saw in the newspapers. My cousins had benefited "contract-wise" from Oyinlola's government, and when Aregbesola came in, there were vociferous in condeming him with all the flimsy excuses in the world......"That Aregbesola does not spend money", "that he's giving contracts to Lagos-based Osun indegens", "that he's taking after Lagos" etc..... When we went home last year, the had to agree that he has done well. In fact, My wife and I had to solicit there support in finding out information on the proposed Ultra-modern market he's about to build or building in the old secretatriat and how we can get a shop.......nutshell We are investing back home. Aregbesola impressed me a lot, not with the projects he's doing alone, but the strategic and methodic approach he's taking. I was in transit from Kogi, passing thru Ekiti to Osun early last year. when We got to Ilesha, I could not but observe a strong presence at addressing drainages. Drainages lining major roads in Ilesha to Osogbo. I was made to understand that flooding was bane previous Administrations had overlooked and impacting on the state. Before all these Road constructions started, flooding had been arrested. Check the stats before and now. Osun state had no record of flooding in the last 2 years. Secondly Aregbesola is demystifying the notions of my brothers in Osun, that Osun is a civil servants state. He is bringing commerce to Osun and very soon another commercial hub will spring up. I make bold to say that apart from my parents house, I will build my house in Osun next year, buy a shop in the ultra-modern market and have our business presence in my state. One thing I observed in the major roads in Osun is the cleanliness. The OYES are put to good use. we can criticize that they are useing cutlasses and brooms (which will soon change) etc, but the summary result is that wastes are off the streets, flower planted to beautify the roads and the over 2.5million trees will make the state very beautiful in 2-3years. |
My brother, 1. Your wrong there 2. Road Construction and Rehabilitation is one of the global benchmark of development in a place. 3. Road construction and rehabilition has a symbiotic link with accessibility, commerce, government spendings in provision of labour, jobs and means of livelihood and urban development. 4. How do business access customers without roads. How do education, health and security access the beneficiaries without roads as one of the fundamental links ![]() Babosa: I agree that all the APC govs are doing well. However Govts in Nigeria tend to equate road construction and rehabilitation with development. Real progress is in improving education, health and security. |
Take your meds man.... musiwa1c: you can tell, fashola is not popular in lagos like the pdp |
Your Analysis on Soludo is pretty LAME - FACT That you're talking like someone that have not seen the walls to a UNI - FACT Even if you'd waved to me on the express, I wondered on what basis I'll have returned the favor. anonimi: Abeg oga, sorry sir, I nor pass through university oh. |
@Anonimi, stop being disingenous with your frivolous use of information out of context. 1. The issue of 17month backlog was a fallout of monies being owed when lecturers went on strike in the past. 2. Facts even from the report stated clearly that as soon as was agreed, Lagos State Government clearly fulfilled their part of the bargain 3. The Lecturers' grouse is the fact LASU management's unilateral decision to split it's own share of the 50% contribution 4. Your analysis on Soludo is just LAME. Have you passed through any University at all ![]() anonimi: Because you asked for it (sounds like some old TV programme) |
You got me cranking...did you say workshop?......ok o! I hear you Chino48: I thought as much. I was in Lagos last week for a workshop. I bet Lagos is huge slum over hyped by yuruba media.. |
@ Atlantic, Thank God we have cerebral people like you to educate lots of misguided youth today. Are we "brain-lazy" or what. Someone made allegations without numerate and empirical databased evidence to back up his claim, yet contradicted himself in the same piece, and then many people here are gullibly dropping submission of little or no value. There is the reasoning in some quarters that many of us have exhausted our reasoning capacity along with the energies we spend in criticizing that we later turn out no good and in no capacity to think innovatively on how to better the situation. It's not secret that Fashola is the best governor in the country. Even a PDP governor publicly acknowledged this, his desire to learn from Lagos and the need for other governors to follow suite. Critical question. The cost of developing infrastructure is not cheap, much more a qualitative one. But the most important thing Fashola has demonstrated is that you don't need to be a "politicial juggernut" to deliver. Just be visionary, innovative, action-oriented and provide good leadership.......raise to good team and get to work. Eko Atlantic: It's baffling the way some people just open their mouth and vomit trash. He claimed that 'he and his team have not come to any conclusion as regards how much money had been spent on infrastructure', but they concluded that Lagos gov's performance is overblown. |
In addition to that, they put a giant sticker on your gate during the notification period. I think sensible people will ask the pertinent question - "Should Kalu shamelessly cry to the media when you know that you are owing the state a statutory due/taxes?" in some other countries you risk forfeiture of such... Kairoseki77: If you own property in Lagos, you have to pay a land use tax. Your tax is due on a certain date, but you have a grace period if you fail to pay. After that grace period is over, the LASG WILL seal your property until you pay your taxes. You get many notices in advance of the due date reminding you to pay your tax. If you don't pay, you get many notices stating that you have not paid, and that the penalty of not paying within the grace period is having your property sealed. This happens over the course of months! It cannot be planned quickly. |
@deepstesting, 1. Stop being melodramtic. I assume you don't live in Lagos. 2. Those you claim are being thrown on the streets are have HOMES they can return to; trust me. 3. Truth is LASG have committed to invest in improving the quality of our lives and that of our unborn generation. Encouraging slums and shanties is not part of that. 4. Taking a head count of what? Have you considered that if Lagos State does that, will that not send a signaling effect that it is more profitable to go via the rout of living in slums than working. At what cost would they profer solution? Besides any of these people that need rehabilitation, can avail themselves to all the skill Acquisiton centers spread over all local government in Lagos. 4. Truth is that an over-arching objective of rebuilding Ijora-Badia with 1008 flats that your children and my children can take on a mortgage basis is the imperative and if it is at the cost of people who can't survive in Lagos returning to their villages, then all's fair. You see the Lagosians amongst them can be accomodated in the skill acquisition centers, farms and other provision already made by Lagos State government. The only people that government should shoulder their resposibilities in this regard are the senior citizens, the physically and mentally challenged. If you can work, then you must work...and contribute to the state deeptesting: Yes and that government responsibility you mentioned is to bulldoze the houses of the poor dwellers, throw them to the streets and when they become artificial destitute as created by the government they arrest them and deport them to their home state...my friend if the LASG is responsible they will take head counts of these slum dwellers, set up a committee to assess the impact of the demolition on the lives of these people and proffer solutions before brining in the bulldozers..the fact is destroying theses slums without adequate compensation or relocation as stated by amnesty does not solve the problem because having destroyed their homes they will find another conducive environment to start another slum and the government will not notice it until when they start looking for a parcel of land to fulfill their respective objectives of self enrichment. Now answer these question: having demolished the slums in Ijora Badia can you tell me where the dwellers reside at the moment? Have they all gone back to their villages? |
@Moodswing, 1. I think we should be careful here when we put things into perspectives. 2. True the government has a social contract with the citizen as you stated, but you should also not paint that social contract as the exclusive preserve of the people living in slums. 3. The issue of slums is complex and an international scorge and responsible government are approaching it in a multifacet way. 4. As at now, I'm yet to properly read the Amnesty international's statistical analysis, but I also know that you don't just throw numbers out in the public domain without stating the context. 5. The said social contract will be challenging when citizens are not properly enumerated and herein you are not able to pin the responsible arm of government to be accountable to such citizen. Trust me, it is not practical for government to be accountable to people, just because they live in shanties and slums. If a random head-count is made and we find out that 25% of that lot are togoleese, Arabs, Beninnoise etc...... So Fashola will be blamed for that 6. The "cry for the poor" here is simply just being melo-dramatic. Some people are bearing the brunt of the cost of the rebuilding of Lagos that Fashola has done and his doing. These people will further bear the brunt of the indebtedness of Lagos all thru there taxes and levies. 7. How do you reconcile the fact that an average person living in a shanty for free, goes about town to "hustle", "beg", "rob or pickpockets"....pays no taxes, no levies, no rent, nothing; comes home with an average of 3thousand naira a day, to a school teacher that earns 30 - 50k a month, and after all expenses is left with less than half of that. Which one is more lucrative on the naira. 8. The truth is that those of us who live in Lagos can actually profile the people that live in these shanties, and many of them are able bodied men and women that should contribute to that social contract. moodswing: Wise man make I tell you... |
I'm thinking this news is either half-backed, outright falsehood or some politrics at scheming the public to paint good image about the state. the facts I know are these 1. Koko was penned down to be the hub of the western franchise in the Nigerian Gas Master plan. 2. The prospective investors have since voted against Koko, as dredging will be required before larger vessels, to off-take the products for export can come into Koko Port. 3. The proposed investors in the Petrochemical plant, a major investor being a company called NAGAJUNA, is intending to build a massive petrochemical plant. But the problem are in two folds with Koko location. (1) The huge cost of dredging the river and (2) the large volume of input gas coming from Chevron, which is very far away from Koko, as such will elicit another pipeline project. 4. All this added together, makes the economics not too good. 5. Investors have abandoned Koko and have moved the western hub to Ogidiben. 6. I don't see any sense in Federal government investing in Petrochemical plant, when they offloaded Eleme Petrochemical plant few years ago. 7. The Federal government can't run that business. Eleme petrochemical plant for all the years under FG hardly made it to 30% capacity. As soon as it was privatized, in less than a year, with the same staff inherited from the FG, the Eleme Petrochemical plant was running at 100% Capacity and became profitable in the 1st year. |
Please do.... Decryptor: Honestly speaking, the fear of investing in these kind of places has been heightened by what lagos state is doing now to the Ibos. I'm seriously thinking of selling my landed property here in Abuja and investing at home |
Mr. Man, I know you're dreaming of coming to Cities.......and by God's grace it will come to pass. But.....before then, don't type what you know nothing of. eastOFwest: What's the point building new mega cities when the old ones are a sorry sight? Why not use these so called "govt funds" to upgrade the existing city - world class roads & drainage, water, intra-city transport infrastructures etc? Wouldn't it generate the same employment and economic activities? Is there anything wrong with making the lives of the common man slightly more bearable, instead of building houses that less than 5% of the population can afford? |
Why do you say things that makes little or no sense teeo: Why do they keep building so Boko Haram would keep on bombing. Doesn't make any logical sense. |
Please let's respect the Aghaowa family. 1. This girl's mother and my wife were University mates, in the same class. 2. Ijeru and Julius got married properly over 11yrs ago. |
What a white lie with spices of yellow ajasa....... I loaded 900 units of PHCN credit over 2months ago, fast-forward almost 3months later I've not used 300units. I average 150units per week on a "normal" week. Reality Check... for almost 3months we only get electricity to Iron our shirts.............. |
;DI was about to type dat Unitedforever: Abi Soosi deeper life non lo ni |
I've just done it this morning. I stood up for an old woman on Bus 181 (Blue Line-Ikorodu Road - TBS route) this morning. It's what we're taught in Moral Education in school days (our cultural values aside) ![]() |

In your sub-kindergarten reasoning, you're evn complicating the ignorance being perpertrated on this thread the more with your analysis. Many of you will harly pass a basic aptitude test centered on simple reasoning. Get the issue right, and also to all who have chosen to be misguided like you. The Security sitauation in PH is far more than any beef btw GEJ-PEJ vs. Amaechi. The worrying situation where there is total breakdown of law and other, the likely consequent effect on the state, the people and the consequent spill-over effect it might have on ther states and the nation is what needs to be addressed and nipped in the bud. When a state commissioner of Police, all the apparatus of police, Bipi and his gang.....and many more can brazzenly try to control a state other than the governor, then anarchy is knocking. This is beyond Amaechi. The officee is bigger than the individual and the sanctity of the officce must be preserved. The danger is that if sanity is not returned to the security of the state, then any governor is not safe. Under our watchful look, gov. Ngige was kidnapped by a state commissioner of police, and then this is happening........ Don't you dullards thinks this is more of primary concern? In your rationing going to beg seems normal rather than reminding the presidency of what it ought to do? It is a legitimate right of citizens in PH to be producted with adequate security provided by the urity apparatus which the presidency controls. This is more than a "Amaechi's problem". This is a monster that is affecting us all and that's the concern of the governors........ martinbillings: You are one of the dullards and do you know y? I will tell you. Whether it means go and beg him or brief him, it really doesn't matter, but what matters from what i gathered from the govs speech is that Amaechi have not even briefed the president on what is happening in Rivers State, and he goes around telling people like you that GEJ is his problem. The Gov said GEJ is their leader which means he is also Amaechi's leader. Nobody will solve your problem till you tell them that you have one. Please Amaechi go to Abuja and discuss. |
Brainless irritant. I consider it worthless a venture to check if you exist
...den if u claim to hav the BRAIN of billgatez, shakespeare or mayb u are a grammarian, u shld know meanin of the statement u made... So i will ASK u dis kweshion: Pray tell us WHICH "generation of DULLARDz" does ur mother/father, sistas/bros, or children belong to ehn? I await ur riply o
|
My brother, I had given up on finding a brain in NL till I encountered your write-up. Kudos to you jare. It would seem people have comprehension problem. When they talk about deep concern on security issues, calling on the IG and the moral authority of president Jonathan to restore confidence in the state, it is "jaw-dropping" that people think it means go and beg Jonathan OMG, Generation of Dullards!!!fiscalcliff: Where in the above was Amaechi told to go beg/reconcile with Jonathan |
@OP pls note some facts; 1. In 2007 at the debate, the intellectual battle, the fight was simply 3-way among Fashola, Femi Pedro and Jimi Agbaje. Koro was no match from the series of debates and was always struggling. Fashola and Femi Pedro once took Jimi Agbaje to the cleaners challenging his lack of requiste experience, since the best he's manged is not more than a 30man clinic. Jimi Agbaje took Pedro to the cleaners with the sucker puch "considering the circumstances of your (Femi Pedros) exist from GTB. They tried to take a swipe at Fasholan when they wanted to challenge his experience in govt. Fashola defended himself that Pedro should remember that when he came in newly, it was he (Fashola) as the chief of staff that settled him in office and gave him all the orientation he needed. That was the best debate I've ever witnessed, and not even 2011 election debate threw Fashola that leve of challenge. So it is either you were still in diapers or you're economical with the truth that Fashola was found wanting at the debate. 2. Again at the election, Koro was flawed effortlessly. Why are you laying false information? Koro lost his LG,lost his ward. He abandoned his appeal and judge threw it out for lack of diligent procecution. 3. Jimi Agbaje in PDP is not such a good idea. Who will sell him to Lagosians? GEJ? Bode-George? Besides I'm not too sure he's built any grass root network |
PHIPEX: Don't make a mess of this thread, this is not an ethnic challenge. It is certain that some of you have turned reasoning the other way round. That Soyinka caled PEJ to caution and reminding her that sje has no constitutional role to meddle in Rivers affairs....warrant such nonsensical statment in bold? This is obviously not the best time for this generation, reasonin and integrity-wise |
Well Abia state University's decision to withdraw the crooked Certificate awarded to this guy is well a good decision. Orji Kalu has once again continue not to disappoint in his usual half education. Pay! Tell! what is the nexus between the meddlesomeness of PEJ in Rivers' affairs, a total abberation, and rubbish about strides and rights of women If Orji is challenging the fact that first lady's just a "domestic appendage of power" then he's either being economical with the truth, grossly Ignorant or simply insincere. Well not surprising! Orji Kalu's mother was running 40% of his govt back then, so his sense of understanding the legality or other wise of the place of the first lady is not suprising. Justice Abdulsalam Abubarkar was first lady. Did she misbehave like PEJ? You see, that someone had some measure of schooling does not make some less of an illiterate...herein the Orji Uzor Kalu and OP are not found wanting |
Right on point about that. Tolexander: sorry! Am here to address human beings. Stay out until am through with them. |
