You are simply a brainless buffoon, struggling to make sense and doing a pretty bad job at it. You may impress your gutter IQ folks with comic rants, but trying to sound like an intellectual is simply way off your league, worse still being one. I cannot but marvel at your lies. Which red bus route do you ply that they are disorganized. My friend you're a big fat liar. I bought E-card from the red bus route close to @old leventis, close to UBA house, TWO years ago. It had been in trial as far back as then. The rough estimates of people using the e-ticket on that route is closer to 60%. Bloody Liar. Which red bus route have you plied that is disorganized? Berger?, old leventis?,CMS?, TBS? Ajah? You are a bloody liar and ur credibility is zero. Just stick to the danfo and "kabukabu -free drops" as it seems youre not cut out to appreciate the value offerins of a decent society. Meanwhile get a fact right, was I to be doing a PR job for some one, I'll feel challenged if I'm in duel with a match. IQ scale 1-10, you're not even pushing 1 sucess001: And how did you come about this info if not dat ur a low life govt beneficiary and apologist! |
@ Afolabi, 1. you are yarning dust, inconsistencies and unrealistic assumptions 2. Even the original plan that you mentioned is a plan and at the discretion of the Lagos state government, be ammended. 3. Even the option of Linking Femi Okunnu strat to 3MB will come with its cost and albeit way much higher than the current bridge. Have you thought of the conscequences of that cost? or you're revelling in the cross moras of idiotic assumption that the funds to build the bridge comes from federal allocation? 5. Truth is I have passed through the bridge 2x. The fact that people pay tolls is not even the issue at hand. The volume of traffic coming from Lekki, de-bottlenecked has led to consequent effect on Ikoyi. Yet with that by-pass, you save a whole 45mins-1hr. Those who actually pass that road are willing to pay the price, and not some of you lot that just rant on NL. 6. Stop writing illogical nonsense. Did you take a sampling to determine that majority of people passing through that route are middle class people? does it even matter? You have the option of taking the route if you please. Whether double taxation or not, it's an individual's choice. If you're coming from Lekki and you don't want to pay tolls, then take the alternate routes. Afolabs101: In the UK, only the highest earners have the highest portion of their income taxed and you can in no way compare what they get in return for paying tax. |
.....Look at the mirror for the brainless....... The E-ticketing system had been on trial on the red buses for over 3-4years running on some routes and the so called market women use it. A simple swipe and your fees are automatically deducted is not rocket science. I can understand you've confined possibilities in a can in your world hence attempt to make things easier looks difficult for you. Don't worry, they'll survive; people said worse, yet "market women" use cell phones today.... sucess001: I am gettin used to pple spewin arguments on NL like brainless mamals so I understand d comment above. |
1. The blue LAGBUS was a concession between throwing the old "molue" drivers on the streets after stripping them of their molue operations and the BRT scheme. 2. Give it to these guys, they have experience, especially transporting crowd, otherwise, the Red Buses would have been no luxury we see today 3. We are seeing the consequences of "CHANGE". It will take a little while for things to take the ideal situation 4. On the BRT scheme, we need to evolve. Results will not happen in a day. The new card scheme that is about to be introduced is a welcome development. If you knew the amount of 20naira multiplied by the number of people that are forced to "forget" their balance payment to the paper ticket vendors...... 5. We need to develop other arms of the society to support the scheme. LAMATA cannot enforce a defined operating standard that continually impact on cost, yet Lagosians will not be willing to pay the price. If LAMATA enforces some standard, cost of Blue bus from Mile12-TBS will be about 500naira 6. That is why LAMATA should partner with the Lagos-Coshcaris Automobile skill institution to specifically train automechanics to cover the gap in maintenance of BRT buses 7. I totally agree that we must look into some simple things - torn upholstery, loose door bolts, buses not cleaned before starting the day are simple things that should be taken care of and not embarrass the public with geeez: If I was BRF, I will auction all the LAGBUS owned buses to private operators and get LAMATA to define standards for operations of the buses from aesthetics to minimum standards for functionality |
Oga, You're confusing things. BRT is the scheme, Lagbus is a coy on the scheme I think you mean the red and the blue buses.............. ossai sly: We are waiting to see how effective these modernized molue will advance its operation . But as far as am concerned, BRT is a failing project! Only Lag bus is more effective . |
dumb!dumb!!dumb!!! lohvang4: LAWMA has failed woefully, period! It is part of ACN/Fashola failure in his 2nd term. SOme ACN dummy would blame GEJ for the rubbish Lagos state govt is dishing out these days. Check Alimosho LGA (Lagos state largest local govt), it's worse than some village farm roads. An example is Ipaja-Ayobo Road, Ikotun-Egbe Road, etc. You'll wonder if you are in Lagos state. Yet, they're developing the area where they stay while the real voters are left to hold the can... |
@ Lastpage, While observing some good suggestions you've made, I cannot but point out some wrong informations and assumptions as well. 1. The PSPs have take waste upfront and require payment when default issues come in. Many Lagosians even the presumed learned folks are shamelessly defaulting in their bills 2. That they blow their horns and disturb children...is utter rubbish, ridiculous and false. Are you sure you live in Lagos ![]() 3. I don't know about your area, but in areas where the PSPs have signed arrangements with people, the refuse trucks stays to pick their garbage. We all filled registration forms before engaging these PSPs. Those people chasing the trucks are probably house that are not registered to the PSPs, hence they can only take advantage when the PSP truck passes lastpage: Nigerians..... and Lagosians in particular, are NOT STEWPID! |
I did research in Waste Management -Waste-2-Wealth as my Business School Thesis/Business Plan. I did a case study on the waste management model in Lagos and Barcelona. It is virtually the same model, yet our people need understand the way things work and what the ideal situation should be. 1. The Green waste bin given to household idealy should contain the waste of each household for minimum 5days. These waste bins have tyres and the collectors disposes the waste themselves. The challenge I think is that you are required to show evidence of payment of property tax as incentive to be given the waste bin. House that are yet to have the green bin, now use small containers, herein comes the spills 2. This is just the begining of a longer journey. The government will so require us to separate our waste before disposal into paper, organic and plastics. Then we will come to terms with bigger requirements and collective participation in managing waste in our state Tony Spike: I've resided outside the country and in most cases, waste trucks only visit neighbourhoods once a week. I don't see this system as being unrealistic, but the overpopulated nature of Lagos might be a source of concern though. I support lastpage's suggestions, those recommendation will help them improve considerably... |
1. My brother, please stop spewing horible lie and saying what you don't know on the net. 2. Waste Management a blot on Fashola's record? some of you are just plain ridiculous. 3. Lagos State government has the most organized, well thought through and well planned waste management model in Nigeria. 4. It is on record that even governors from Northern states (I think Kano) had sent his people to learn the Lagos Model and replicate it in his state. 5. There is no filth in Lagos as many of you are telling lies here. Lagos Waste model have about 3 Major dump sites, some mini-dumpsites, 2 major transfer loading stations, recycling plants and collection systems. 6. LAWMA do not collect waste. It is the PSP, a private initiative supported by the Lagos government that has the responsibility to collect waste and deliver such at either the loding stations or the dump sites. 7. The Lagos State government actually replenished the waste trucks of the PSP with new ones in 2012. An arrangement on a loan basis, that sees the PSP's repayment netted of from the income they get and reduced taxes. 8. Now we can understand that service delivery and quality is still a thing some of the PSPs are trying to grapple with, but on a holistic scale, waste collection is well arranged in Lagos. 9. We may not have gotten to the level of Europe and US in waste managment, but we are evolving. The Green waste collection bin is ideal to keep waste of each household for at least 5days, within which the PSPs shows up. 10. I live in Millenium Citi-Cetre Estates Gbagada (formerly Oke Alo), a semi-hibrow by all standards. The PSP in our area comes 2x a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays). We are encouraged to pay quarterly; 500-700 per flat and 1000-1500 per duplex. It was embarrasing enough at the residential association meeting this past Saturday, the General Manager of the PSP company came to adress us, and complained that some houses have outstanding payments. 11. There are teething problems that we all have to manage. The PSPs not performing will have to either be replaced or repremanded. But the people should also pay there bills. 12. Till I left Ikorodu in 2011, In Oke-Oriya, where I lived, there was no PSP, yet trucks came, park in a spot, people bring out there garbage and put it in the waste truck for free. 13. Virtually all major roads in Lagos have street sweepers - from Ajegunle, Iyana Ipaja, Ikorodu, Ketu to Surulere, Victoria Island etc. You hardly see waste dumps on the road side like before. mbulela: Waste management is one major issue on which Eko has baje well well. |
In 1998, my Uni dept association, we took a excursion trip to Kainji-lake National park in Minna from Lagos via train. An horrendous 35hr journey which we disembarked at Jebba and completed the remaining with bus. I've not seen any difference with the account of the OP. Nothing has changed. |

@ redsun, You are welcomed as an investor to commit to piping to people's homes...... but 1. You should realized the capital investment of such and the netback at the current pricing 2. How many of these so-called ordinary citizens live in houses that are safe for gas piping network?? redsun: I thought this is about piping up domestic gas into homes, not gas bottle. |
@ Pastor Kun, 1. You have simply laced your post with ridiculous falacies. - Tinubu's ownership of OANDO, dominating the cooking gas industry etc all are just your jaundiced rationing. 2. Pray, what is your submission in light of how this contributes to the well-being of Lagosians. You lot are your worst enemy. Your case is like Pastor Adeboye's analogy on a man that used "Madarikan" Pastor Kun: Whilst this appears to be a laudable project on the surface many people don't realise that Fashola is just using Lagos state machinery to promote the private business of his friend (Wale Tinubu) who is actively promoting his new product O-gas with the intention of dominating Nigeria's cooking gas industry. It is also worthy of note that Fashola's oga at the top (bola Tinubu) is also one of the largest shareholders of Oando the company producing this O-gas so at the end of the day they are just promoting their personal interest and subsidising a private company under the guise of providing Lagosians with a more environmentally friendly cooking gas. |
It is even more ridiculous that these people abandon what should better the peoples lot and embark on sensless crusade. Egba girl: Honestly, many times I think we as Nigerians deserve our current situation and crop of leaders. We are too feeling sentimental and refuse to see anything good!!! We are blinded by sentiments! |
This is ridiculous..you hope....who's the project targeted at in the first place? badesco: I hope the common man is taken into consideration before this plan was unveil. kudos to Gov. Fashola. |
Obanikoro ko, Jibowu ni barcanista: Another avenue to loot the treasury and enrich TINUBU. Come may 2015,Lagos will chase out ACN from Alausa and installl PDP led by Senator Musliu Olatunde Obanikoro |
I was almost giving up that rational minds have left NL. Thanks for your submission. The report is actually scanty to me. Is there a law not permitting bringing items of such into the assembly? was she caught at a crime scene? or with incriminating items?....if not any of these, these law makers have done themselves in.
This woman should sue the hell out of the Legislature.. ![]() If she had a Catholic Rosary, a bottle of Holy water, a Muslim Bead or any other of such mainstrem religous paraphenelia, it would not even warrant a second glance.. But she has items related to trraditional african religous practice and its frontpage news. This is utter bullshit!! She should get a lawyer and sue for billions..
|
Crack is definitely injurious to health
slowpoke that cannot read trying to teach. see oxymoron. let me say it as slowly since your ignorant can't comprehend what i said. WS accused CA of hating on his noble prize award. a statement that cannot be verified other than WS saying. now once more WS accused CA of another hate filled statement;he, CA, denyed him, WS, access to visit him, CA after the accident because he, CA, saw him, WS, as an enemy that caused him, CA, his accident. once more another wild accusation that nothing can verify. only a hate filled pretender would come out and accuse an innocent man of things that cannot be verified. If your @ss can't read between the lines, i sure can. Go thank your literature teacher for wasting your time.
|
This is education misapplied. All your rhetorics are just way-off and needless. Simple thing is the value proposition far outweighs all the needless postulations you have here Let me paint it clearer......You'd better not enrol your child in school, and opt to teach your child at home, as the unit production of a textbook and exercise book is too high, that she'll damage the books, that the book will be stolen and that money is just being wasted on publishers and printers pro01: The devil is in the details, as always. The 'Nigerian Factor' would always come into play. This whole Opon Imo initiative (or by any other name) seems unsustainable, considering the unit production price, likely high rate/incidence of damage, high turnover of students, and endless room for corrupt practices at every stage of the chain (from the governor/government officials, to contractors, ministry of education oficials, all the way to teachers). |
sure, just like when 2 mad men converse and refer to normal people as mad..... Anvaller: Oh thank God someone is being real here, That in the bold perfectly summarizes what I have been saying.. We need to stop being emotional and be more real.. This does not make any sense... I repeat, this project does not make any sense... It would have made sense if the basics are already in place. Establish a proper learning environment 1st, u have not solved that, its like nigeria dreaming of going to space when we do not have an on premise laboratory... It's like offering home appliances to a homeless person, build the homeless a house 1st if u really want to help, mind u the cost of buying home appliances can not be compared to actually building the house to put his appliances, that's what they don't want to do. |
Egbon, O da bi enipe en mu nkan..... musiwa24: when he help atiku or nuru ribadu, did they win. NO.. |
and which beer parlour was this ....teskyg: I was in private political meeting last week.We were told of how Revenue from the western part of Nigeria is been doled out to Northern politicians like Buhari and El-Rufai.Most of us will weep if you hear the figures those abokis are gettn from the taxes we pay in Lagos which huge percentage is channel to APC. |
Well a lesson to you to think first before allowing hatred to becloud your emmotions as you type. It is share idiocy to spoil the joy of two innocent folks starting their lives together, bringing political roforofo fight Afam4eva: I rescind my comment about Tinubu not responding to Smart Adeyemi. While i would have wated to hear his response, i now think that was not the best place for Adeyemi to ask that question. Ifact, it was a disrespect to the couple. Though i hope Tinubu answers the question someplace else. |
Egbon, I'm so happy that you've gone down history lane to put the facts on NL. It is even more appalling that the youths of nowadays on NL are either naive and ignorant, or intellectualy lazy to go read history. They largely depend on regurgitating twisted facts that is sold to you on social media and internet. The days of Shagari was corruption matched with ethnic and religious polarization. Was it not during that period you must belong to the muslim north or else you stand no chance of getting appointments and contracts. This led many compromised southerners to resort to changing their names, and wearing babariga and cap was the order of the day. This was a perid where there was wanton indiscipline in the society, that made Buhari and Idiagbon to introduce WAI (War Against Indiscipline). Those days you dare not defeacate or unrinate by road side, you dare not drop waste on the road and you queue up at public places. The issue of the proscription of the media was unfortunate. Some of the media men were compromised by the politicians and the no-nonsense military clamped them both the innocent and the guilty People are quick to forget that this was the first regime that publicly committed to paying our external debt and on a montly basis. This came about when the theiving politicians will collect foreign loans to prosecute projects that hardly left the proposal paper and the loans took flight into private pockets and Swiss Banks. Really those of us that were around then, celebrated GMB-Idiagbon govt especially the dedication to stamp out corruption and wage war against indicipline. Fast forward to today, some idiots type rubbish. Smart Adeyemi is just doing his master's (Jonathan's) work in attacking Buhari. And why are we getting over ourselves. APC has not said Buhari is the presidential Candidate yet. REHOZIBAH: Dis title of dis thread is sensational to say d least! |
So daft would have been more apt ilugunboy: Dunce....this is an apolitical event...nothing to do with parties....
|

phantom: interesting! I thought we were one country?Another funny jybe. So now you "thought" we are one country. Fashola should Subject Lagos to Capital flight and loose the opportunities to develop the new generation of indigens of Lagos, and satisfy Innosons of Anambra State? one thing you guys should realise is that there is wisdom in seeking understanding on things you know nothing of, rather than display crude ignorance here. Let your state governors creative market that Innosons will compete in or rather Innosons create its market itself........and stopblaming others for your inadequacies. if you and your people refuse to be innovative, how is that Fashola's fault? |
You guys just continually make daft reasoning the other of the day.Pray! Tell, on what basis should Fashola make Innoson Vehicles Official State's Vehicles? 1. How does that benefit Lagos in terms of value? 2. What extra input will it add to the Human Capital development of Lagos Indigenes? How does buying Innoson vehicle helps to fulfil the aspiration of of developing a bew generation tof young graduates that will continue to build relevant Innovative sectors in Lagos. 3. Do you thin Lagos will be so stupid to surrender her potential goldmine to Anambra? For starters BRT in full-swing will probably need an average of btween 500-1000 vehicles per annum to be assembled. Imagine the human capital that will be equipped to do that, the duties and taxes on raw coming in through the new ports, matrls & number of new jobs for Lagos indigenes, investment that way bring in, in case of out-sourcing and export. Imagione the big-picture value this accrues to Lagos state...... Yet in your lame-duck reasoning, all this should be surrendered to Anambra State?.........tsk..tsk..tsk.... Unfortunately that is not going to happen, you might as well choke on it early enough, cos is building up and assembly plant phantom: beautiful post! Let him start by making innoson vehicles the state's official cars.this man is just an orator pure and simple! |
My dear "deluded 9gerian", 1. At a level (obviously far and unfathomable to you), talk is sacred. 2. I wonder if you read Fashola's speech and worse off you you did comprehend it. 3. When Fashola talked about made in Nigeria, he was talking far from "mere" patronizing made in Nigeria goods just for the sake of "our own". Insistence on buying made in Nigeria goods in this context is as useless and will fall flat. 4. Fashola is talking about developing a made in Nigeria philosophy, ideas, innovation and implementation. He's not talking about flat consumption that further devalues the common good. He's not talking about buying "Aba-Made" products that is hardly sustainable. 5. I thought you'll have seen the intention right with the strategic situation of the 2200 day in office event. They went back to the bedrock of what ideally builds the society - The Higher institution. Fashola was simply stirring their minds. Check his words carefully - "Our human resource is the most important resource we have and will ever have""Our students in tertiary institutions are in the generation right behind us. They are the ones who are being prepared for the job market and leadership responsibility. They are the ones who will replace me and the commissioners, the permanent secretaries, the legislators and the judges, indeed the entire public service. They are the ones who in a short time will bear the responsibility to refine our crude oil, generate our electricity, produce our water, manage this university, build our trains, secure our state and country and generally be responsible for our people’s well-being" 6. Fashola's government has at this critical point recognize the need to focus on transition to the next generation, the need to build sound, responsible, intelligent, brilliant and innovative new set of leaders. His objective to the students of higher learning at this occasion is encapsulated in these words"I hope that I have stirred something in you. If I have, then my mission has been useful because we can start a new journey together today."Fashola rightly identified and wondered why there will be joblessness is a nation where there is so much more to do......and my emphasis - on road construction alone, we'll not have covered Lagos if we continue at this pace for the next 50years. 7. Then he painted a picture of what his government have done in 100days.......in itself jaw-dropping. 8.Fashola wondered why there will be a deficit in Man-Power, Business skills, leadership and management, that we go import "expats" 9. Nut-shell he's talking about a made in Nigeria, that a Lagos State University Teaching Hospital will announce the discovery of a vaccine that deadens Plasmodium parasites in the blood streams. He is talking of a Made in Nigeria that comes up with an innovative idea of shortening travel times yet still using the same defined transport medium, He's talking of a made-in-Nigeria where Nigerian Architects and Structural Engineers and Builders will announce an innovative Feat of constructing under-ground tunnels thru Lagos Lagoons. He's talking of a Made in Nigeria where many of us white-collar folks will come up with solid business development plans that will turn a single tuber of Yam into value 10000000%. He's talking about made in Nigeria where LASU students will come up with research works on how to manage flooding in Lagos and turn waste water into commercial products. He talking about LASU students doing what the Universities have been shirking in their responsibilities to do i.e. Research that will impact the society, benefit the system and build our own brand. 10. We don't want to have a made-in-Nigeria just for the numbers. We want a Made-in-Nigeria that can compete globally. A made in Nigeria that will bring innovations that will create meaningful jobs, turning out valuable products, adding values to lives. We need to transfer the knowledge we've garnered, development and customized and localized. Dr. Falase of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, performed a Brain Surgery right in LASUTH successfully. Why don't we second about 25 of the brightest young and aspiring Neuro-Surgeons to Dr. Bode Falase for mentorship, place them on a special package and after 5 years, distribute them to all the general hospitals in Lagos State. Sincere 9gerian: "The key for finding a solution to unemployment and joblessness is in 3 (three) simple words – ‘made’ ‘in’ ‘Nigeria’"- Fashola |
....like "we want to thank president Jonathan for bringing Facebook to Nigeria" ![]() njazra: Nice one. We want to see pictures of achievement and not long story by some paid agents. |
This for me is a very apt upper cut..... eko ileee: Lagos state university is the 11th best university in Nigeria while Ondo state university is 84th |
