Above all else, dont let anyone guilt you into giving beyond your faith level. Whatever you do outside of your faith is a waste of your time and resources.If all you can give is 1buck every offering (I have been there), stay there and grow your faith by staying in the Word until you can give 10 bucks, then give 10 bucks. Whatever principle gets you from1 to 10 bucks, will get you to 100bucks. But its going to be your faith primarily...regardless of how many shepherds try to guilt you into giving sacrificial seed

Most Nigerian churches are nothing more than business centers with the pastors as CEO. Visited Nigeria last year and my sister invited me to her church and I meet her pastor who after noticing I came from abroad mysteriously showed up in our house a few days later purportedly to pay us a visit only to invite me to come see him in the office after the Tuesday service which I attended with my sister(don't evend understand why people go to church on a tuesday)

After the Tuesday service I went to his office thinking we are going to pray or maybe do some spiritual work only for the man to tell me God told him that I should do something big for his church like donating #10 million or buying a #6 million generator for the church and that I must do it before I go back. I was like have heard and I will get back to him and quickly take my leave.

I was in an employment of a bank until recently when my employment was terminated.

When I had the job, I took my family welfare as my priory. My wife and our only son were faring good, I always ensure we do not lack the basic necessities. Meanwhile, my wife did not have a job then. All the house upkeep expenses including the cost of running her postgraduate program were on me and I felt comfortable bearing the costs as the breadwinner of the family.

After I lost my job in the bank some month ago, my wife got an employment with the state govt. With her little income, she has been able to assist in bearing some expenses, even she pays for fuelling our car sometimes.

The drama has now started in the house and our marriage is on the verge of breaking up.

Any little issue, my wife will turn it to quarrel, different abuses. Funny enough, she would be referring to the financial supports she has been rendering in the house. This is a woman that did not work at all for 2 years and I was bearing all the expenses with pleasure. Now she had only supported me for about 4months now and she's is misbehaving.

To my surprise, my wife maintains a record in which she records every penny she spends in the house including food items and fuel. With this, she always ask me when will I pay him back.

At the instance of a simple argument/misunderstanding, my wife would be boasting of 'I paid for this, I paid for that....' 'If not for my support since you had problem at work......'

Please advise me, I am getting fed-up with the situation, my wife had changed totally.

A redeem pastor I met in US tried to make me worship in his church using the tagline " aren't you tired of the white men's boring kind of worship" to which I replied "are you really confirming Nigerian's kind of worship is some sort of entertainment?"

As a Catholic, if there's a Nigerian version of Catholicism in the US, I'd still dig the white man's kind.

Story plenty for Christ embassy but my dear OP, stay in a Church that above all, will help put the word of God in your spirit. Some pastors even listen to Pastor Chris'msgs to tell you how powerful his messages are. The Bible says we should not judge but there are so many things wrong with our churches today. I went to a church last week out of sheer curiosity and was stunned. It was a counselling section on a Monday. U had to pay a thousand naira to buy an anointing oil bottle that could not be up to 200 naira to see the pastor. I guess that's the gate fee. After speaking with the pastor, he tells me I needed special prayers and he would have to make a special oil for me which is N3000. What about the gate fee anointing oil? I would never enter there again.

I left that social gathering since school days, more than 9 year's ago, when one of the lady executive of the fellowship came up to minister with the shape of her V-jay showing glaring to the crowd due to the tight fisted trouser she wore. I recall a time when the issue of PST Chris living separately from his wife came up here, Joe Agbaje defended him, claiming that the couple see often and even go on romantic get-away. It was not true. To all intents and purpose, the man abandoned his wife and family in London while gallivanting around the world with his concubines. This was wrong, but who could challenge the KING? The man had also warned members never to discuss pastors and that they should run away where such matters are being discussed. What you have is a situation where people are so afraid to even consider the allegations against him, so as not to be consumed by fire! SMH!!!

With such a context, the man can get away with anything, including polygamy. He can rewrite the bible, claiming that some portions or verses were not clearly written. He can do ANYTHING, and the staunch members and the pastors would defend him. I mean ANYTHING.

They deify him, call him the ‘Jesus in white suit,’ ‘the Jesus of our time’ and such heresies.
Two personal experiences really got me worried.

A. I was in church one day when a leader in a talk show said, “Pst Chris is not only in Ikeja or Lagos. His spirit is even here right now’’. I was shocked by the comments and obvious deification of a mere mortal. But when the pastor came up, he did not rebuke the speaker or said anything about it. I left for home, thinking hard: What has happened to these people?
B. Th other one was during prayer. The person leading the prayer asked us to pray so that the message of PST Chris will take over the world. Message of Pst Chris? I asked myself. I thought we came there because of the gospel/message of Christ? Does Pst Chris have a different message? Of course, I didn’t participate in that prayer but I was shocked that no one saw anything wrong in this, which validated my growing belief that the church was veering out of the Christian lane into something else.

I will stop here for now. But if challenged by the minions of the church, I have more arsenals. Good day and God bless you.

God bless you more, brother. I pray fervently that God absorbs you and i of our sins. All you said here are some of the things i have always pointed at when arguing with one of there members who is on my contact; she always wants me to leave my church(Catholic) for theirs. My responses have always been centered around some of the things you pointed out here.

As a guy, my bae knows my password to probably all my Social Media accounts, i know her email password etc. She even gifts me her fone whenever she is around because she is always having one complaint or the other about it. Never deletes chats cos, i get to see old chats both on Whatsapp and I.G.; i no dey even read them again because i am tired and between, we aint officially engaged yet o but we know we want to grow old together.

Harvest in Catholic churches is not done to deceive gullible congregants like some churches we see in present day Nigeria. The proceeds are channelled to mainly church building and development of small stations into parishes. Catholics are not forced even to pay tithes, it's never mandatory. Thanksgiving rather than tithing is our thing.

I recently paid my fiancée an hagast visit where she works only to discover that this girl has been occupying an apartment with a single door lobby as entry and exit comprising only two rooms with a male senior colleague.

I know many of us especially ladies will argue it doesnt matter. But I have since then been processing all her past suspicious actions , namely: she seldom answer her phone if i call in evenings (between 7 - 2am usually). At 2am she usually calls back that she saw my calls but she was asleep.

Ater that visit i began putting video calls though, she ignores mostly.

I told her she must look for a roommate and she has since then been adamant about it.


I love her and I have had many terrible dreams about her cheating long before I visited the place (God bears me witness) but i couldn't just relate the nightmares to her.


I'm at the verge of breaking up with her, but what if shes innocent This is why I need to compare various stand points.

The fact is, as a single guy, i have had a lady sleep on my bed for the night on two occasions; i must confess, konji almost tore my heart out but, i scaled through. I had to ask her to stop coming over to prevent further regrets. This is a risk i dare not take as i already have a hearthrob; one cannot always escape the storm(despite how disciplined i am) hence my decision to stop her from sleeping over.

Using the paragraph above as a reference, relate it to your gist. Lol. The fact they co-habit means that, if they stay discplined from Mondays through Thursdays, Friday nights ll most definitely be an exception. They are too close (proximity) for such not to happen. What excuse could she possibly have for not being available between 7p.m to 2a.m every single time?
