PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by matrixme(m): 9:43am On Mar 26, 2013
Dede1: I wonder if you understood the meaning of word – progressive. With no pun intended, I must say your post reeks of ignorance. You are one of many Nigerians who think that alms giving by rogue politicians is progressive. What a misplaced priority. Every revolution known to mankind has started through the power of pen, olodo.
Dear sir, apart from the Lutheran Church revolution, can you give five more instances where revolution was started by a pen so as to get us enlightened? I also don't think you understood that part about 'doing humanity some good' very well. Thanks

PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by matrixme(m): 3:03pm On Mar 25, 2013
I quite agree with the topic on this one. Achebe is not a progressive, rather a great literary icon. This is not a matter of yoruba bigotry because I'd recommend Emeagwali over Achebe, contributing to human progress at any Point in time. J.K Rowling, the British writer of Harry Potter had to loose her billionaire status because she gave so much to positive causes. Where is the Achebe Library or grant for young African writers of today? Where is the Chinua Achebe foundation for Peace and Reconciliation or HIV/AIDS research? Don't Nigeria or the Igbo people have enough vices on their own that he could have use his positive, prominent attention to confront? Yes he excelled in Literature, yet probably the only person he may have mentored is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I don't think the literary chair is the best place to change the world positively. You either get up and start a revolution or take the Mother Theresa approach. Perhaps, Wole Soyinka understands this now. I hope Achebe gets buried in the United States where he spent all his productive life in, I do hope Things Fall Apart help stem the tide of Boko Haram or wipe out Niger /Delta militancy one day, who knows, the fine literary piece might cause these people to have a change of heart. Maybe I'm still living in fantasy on this one. I do hope the best for his soul.

I knew online marketing agents can't be trusted and are bunch of rip offs in a developing country like Nigeria! If you can't walk down to shops around you that you know you can get fairly quality items at bargain prices, then expect different sophisticated means of obtaining from you! Sorry mate, I hope you get a positive response soon!

EducationRe: Expelled Student Sues Covenant University For Illegal Expulsion by matrixme(m): 12:14pm On Feb 28, 2013
Such a shameful representation of a Christian institution that ought to flow with grace and mercy. I mean would Jesus have expelled the guy if the university were personally His? How would you dictate to a guy probably above 18 years what he should or should not watch on his very own laptop and you claim you are educating him? well you are rather indoctrinating him. We should thank God that it is not these same people that run these systems that invented most of what makes life easier for us today, we could have been in for something really nasty. Anyway I always express my pity for graduates of privately owned universities, because they have much more to unlearn and relearn unlike their counterpart in government universities. The real world they are preparing you for is not run by the militant discipline you were prepared under, and for your information, discipline is a personal strength, so you don't try to impose yours on another person.
WebmastersRe: Nairaland Is The Most Visited Website In Africa... by matrixme(m): 1:03am On Feb 28, 2013
Where is Nairaland official contact? I think a Web personality profile should be included on Nairaland, such that the popular people in Nigeria gets to answer any question from the average guy out there with a mobile phone browser that accesses this website. In that way, Nairaland is helping to clear the air and allowing the common man to actually understand the motive behind events and actions that affect everyone in the country alike.. Thankfully, forum admin would be on ground to block irrelevant questions and regulate activities. I do hope Nairaland listens!
AgricultureRe: He Wants To Resign & Do Vegetable Farming - Please Advice by matrixme(m): 12:30am On Feb 28, 2013
Please sir follow your inner voice! Just Because it didn't work for some other person doesn't mean it will not work for you. I believe with enough market survey /strategy and a decent packaging, you can sell anything to anybody in this Nigeria. If you are based around a Tertiary institution, students are always in need of vegetables. Also, don't abandon your fish farm. It could be the lifesaver if the vegetable business fails. Fishes are always in season, but try to get more knowledge on feed formulation so you don't pour all your expenditure on white man's feed. I wish you the very best on your endeavour. Every successful entrepreneur today broke out of their comfort zones. Why not join them?

Hehehehe nonsense, Tecno android phones to the rescue. At least you have the pack and the reciept with you, and the rest of mind. No one should want stolen American junk these days now that these hardworking Chinese people have brought Android to our arms length, unless of course, you are an isheep!

biomedixexcel: Pls help o, FIFA 12 REFUSED TO PLAY ON MY N3, JUST DISPLAYING I SHOULD DOWNLOAD ADDITIONAL DATA AND I AV MOVED NECESSARY FILES N FOLDER TO OBB FOLDER
you must have probably downloaded an archived file, so you need winrar software on system to open it. you should get files like asset loader, database, log, display etc listed, which you should copy to Android /data / com.konami.pes2012/files folder. If that is not what you have already, create it. That should do for you. Well, worked for my GTA downloaded from torrent.
WebmastersRe: Nairaland Is The Most Visited Website In Africa... by matrixme(m): 12:34pm On Feb 20, 2013
congratulations to the Nairaland team. We'd never stop visiting as long as there are hot stuffs that stimulates our interest. Just as my Pastor always say, The white man invented the automobile commonly known as "end of discussion" and later came on "discussion continues". There are still ways the site can generate more influence, even though this is 2013, the ideas of tomorrow I believe will make today's web look like Windows 95 interface. So we should get to see more in the future of Nairaland.

I think rooting should not be a problem for anyone again with the wealth of information that has been shared previously on this thread, especially if you use an N3 Tecno. Maybe guys are just lazy and unwilling to try things out for themselves. We really should get to appreciate the chairman that coded the poot software. It was recently that I reallyare got to know how useful the software was, especially as my friends who wishes their droids were Tecno: -) brought an HTC desire (Android 2 ) and a Krony (Android 4) to partake of the rooting experience and I was like *Tongues out it isn't a Tecno! I don't know if I could run the same process of poot on those droids successfully , since the steps from Google are not as self explained and quite simple as rooting a Tecno. Thanks!
EducationRe: Floating School At Makoko By NLE & Kunle Adeyemi by matrixme(m): 3:35pm On Feb 16, 2013
Symphony007: This is exastubating a problem, rather than thinking of a way to give this people a better place to stay he's doubling down on their current condition. Makoko is a danger to lagos, the lagoon and even the inhabitants.

Most of the people there are fishermen, why don't the government provide specialized fishing boats for the fisherman who will now be employed by the government thereby creating revenue for government and in return build a council flat kind of little flats for the people with a modest income and makoko will be demolished, the remaining part of the shore will be used to build luxury condo's cause some rich folks will pay big time for a seaview residence..with this you've solved a lot of problems. Gotten rid of an eye sore, lifted some people out of poverty and created multiple source of income to the state.
I think your brilliant opinion is only theory sir! First of all, fishing from natural waters is no longer profitable, due to the greed of overfishing and perhaps, poverty. Also, getting people out of their ancestral land in a society like Africa is a bad omen. Given the fact that these wonderful people are not claiming some high brow area in Lagos, but water... haba! I think we ought to let them be or improve their condition. Also, when last have government resettlement programmes in today's Nigeria proven to be a success? Finally since the idea is new and initiated by an expert, why don't we just watch with an optimistic eye? Afterall, this is way better than doling out taxpayers money to a football team!
PoliticsRe: Soyinka Leads Protest To Fashola Over N4bn First Lady House by matrixme(m): 10:25am On Feb 15, 2013
V-lyrics:
If soyinka was to run for president under d new pary i won vote 4 him.. Even though he is not an Igbo. Dis man can inspire a renaissance in nigeria economy wit his creative mind.. He is a legend and a thinker
Why don't we all start a public outcry or something for Soyinka to campaign for president come 2015? At least, it's the least we could do if we want to salvage our nation from destructive influences, and we have to do that ourselves. Formerly, I would have criticized the professor to just stick to writing, but I have known better now. These popular politicians don't have the interests of the citizenry at heart as much as someone like Prof Soyinka. Please if anyone is with me on this one, let's start a web revolution on Twitter and other social networks till he starts having sleepless night over it.

to those having problem with their 2go login, don't leave a space between your username and password, especially when you use predictive text keyboard, so delete the automatic space at the back of both login inputs. If it doesn't work which I guarantee it will, I have another version for HTC, but where to upload it without wasting my time is the issue. Then if the 2go keyboard fail to show, press menu then back, then menu again, it will show

PhonesRe: Huawei 4Afrika Phone By Huawei & Microsoft For Africa by matrixme(m):
I think this phone is dead on arrival! First of all, the name sounds too geeky for the average fashionable African (lady). "So what do you call this? 4Afrika. (yinmu)" that sounds like a smartphone segregated from the larger (international) audience and as such, don't think it will appeal much to Nigerians especially.. Personally after using Symbian, Blackberry and now Android, I don't think I would want to 'downgrade' in my smartphone adventure unlike most people who wouldn't advance beyond stage 2 especially with the launch of the new BBZ10. Though important, most of the time, it shouldn't be about money when you target emerging African markets, especially on durable products that people attach value to. lastly, does it have a bundled internet? if not, except it's battery can charge itself without power source , I think Microsoft and Huawei should go back to the design table.

PoliticsRe: G8 Leaders To Discuss Nigeria’s Controversial Oil Wealth Wastage by matrixme(m): 1:54pm On Feb 03, 2013
It starts off with well intended thoughts, and the future of our dear country is in jeopardy. After these so called developed countries plundered the resources of their lands and put their environment at risk, they are now on the hunt for fertile but gullible countries in far away Africa to re-colonize. Of course, the present-day inefficiencies in our government will fizzle off with time. After all, it was GEJ that probably brought the matter to limelight. Like as if they are not the ones with the technical expertise in siphoning the resource legally if we should really go deep into the matter! So I think we should resist all these ulterior motives by western countries to take over what rightfully belongs to us, at least for the sake of our children.
