Sometimes this country could be visibly annoying. A serving minister purchased two expensive armoured vehicles with taxpayers money and all the president, who at the present moment is away on Israel to "pray" could do towards the extravagant minister is to serve her a mere query. Meanwhile, the Igbo's with their hegemonous attitude, think we're being biased by passing judgment on this issue, instead of joining in the spirit of national unity to condemn this action of callous impunity! |
I'm currently experiencing the very same connectivity issue with Airtel here in Ilorin. I was in Lagos last week, then Kogi state and I cannot tell you I was pleased for once with their crappy internet access. I think anything Indian entrepreneur backed in this country is doomed to fail just like Dana airlines . I don't think they are offering their services for human beings at all, and worst of it all, they never even try to improve or appear sober. I wonder when we will enjoy affordable internet in this country without a hole in our pocket and frown on our faces! |
Hello dear all! I am undertaking a private study on the status of agriculture in the oil producing regions of the Niger Delta. I would like to know how commercial oil exploration is hindering the water based activities of crop farming particularly and fisheries in these regions. I would appreciate a first hand information in the course of this study, with pictures if possible. Thank you! |
I fear Blackberry will soon stand as the company which wasted her big opportunity if it doesn't get to reinvent herself. The company had such fine features that appealed to global consumers, but refused to stay out of the competitive redwaters. Black berry ought not to compete with Android, Apple and perhaps Nokia because it had what those others didn't possess - a quality brand and faithful followership. I guess the company ran short of innovative thinkers that businesses critically requires. |
Impulse80: Hello everyone, even though I don't use this phone anymore i just found out that with a little tweaking you can use the 1500mah battery of the EVO 4g on this phone. If you are having battery problems this might give you extra juice.how? Though I could use the normal BL-5CB Nokia battery when my normal battery runs down on same g2. |
Mr Lecturer sir, I'd like to know how you people think that you can solve all the problems of tertiary education in Nigeria with money. Perhaps that is where you got i wrong. I am a university student and I can point out the naturally good ones among my lecturers. I think it is quite sad how you old people think that, being a university teacher puts you at the hallmark of career achievement in this nation, especially given the fact that perhaps, no Nigerian university has launched a commercial societal value adding product into the market apart from those university breads, processed water and the agricultural products from university farms which are 'common commodities' Are you exactly saying that in the many years that universities have existed in this nation, No research could have been done without necessarily federal government funded (like your current demands stipulate) that is for the common good of all and sundry? I daresay right under your noses, Unilorin has produced a local malaria drug and recently, a local Biometrics machine, and they are not under ASUU? what are the rest of you doing with the available little? I am just trying to point out that we are all inexcusable in the development of education in this country. Anyway, I wonder what Nigerian University graduates in 2035 would be like, assuming your demands are met! |
very biased list. Are you saying no infinix phones could make the supposedly best list of Android devices? especially given their incredible designs which are superior. You should rather rename your list: 'The best Tecno Android phones' |
This is the best thing I've heard coming from this country on Nairaland front-page. I am very convinced that this country has hope with feats like this. God bless those inventive young guys and make them achieve their aims in life. The police spokesman really got it right this time. I wish the Nigerian police are always at their best in ways like this! |
fire is burning in our airspace, yet the honourable minister of Aviation is encouraging us to go home and have a bottle of coke. She further said "there is nothing unusual about the situation that has taken the lives of 15 and almost sparked a religious crisis within a week". Does she think we are all a bunch of stupid people? |
reading this topic just makes me sad about the state of present-day Christianity in Nigeria. The irony is that the primary reason we attend Church is the redemption of our souls at death. Yet, we turn gloomy faces when the process happens and pretend never did. I'm sure this topic won't get as much attention as defending our private jet riding pastors or say homosexuality. |
you should count yourself extravagantly fortunate to be living in a country where majority is living on less than 1 dollar per day, yet you come to the internet to ask if you should be shy to withdraw about 3 whole dollars equivalent! |
na waa o. See How they are even refering themselves as the dog that the tail should not wag. Do they now imply that a university lecturer is the peak of achievement in this nation? Bunch of lazy set of workers who cannot even boast of ensuring the self reliance of their students, not to talk of advancing the cause of the nation. I think that ASUU is also one of the problems in this nation. Self-proclaimed intellectuals, waiting for the dumb government to save them. I believe when you're a real intellectual, you don't have to advertise yourself. I wonder what good ideal they have rendered to the country apart from the strike they are known for collectively and the half-baked graduates they pour out of the system annually. What research/university-associated product has entered the mainstream market in the past 10 years apart from University table water and bread? At least they can't say they haven't been doing any research for that long with the available resources. If I we're a university lecturer, I would pull out of this system of mediocrity because I would rather not my name be associated with it! That is why I never hope to become a university lecturer in the first place, such a dull an uninteresting career it must be! |
even my HTC G2 produced a long time ago still has more modern features than 90 percent of the latest Tecno smartphone - gorilla glass, 4G Technology, 16 million colours, metallic casing, big screen and keyboard and I'm running a 4.0 custom Rom. What better features can I ask for in a smartphone? I once used a Techno n3 and since then, my eyes got opened to the poo of mobile gadgets that a company that claims to be innovative keep releasing weekly. Phones are not like Nollywood movies that you can just wake up and churn out because when you release one, your brand integrity is at stake because you have to provide support and get people to like it and all that. it's just because our society is not good, that is why such monstrosities as these get by. I won't be surprised if the company fizzles away like the Blackberry they we're trying to topple in the nearest future, especially for the same reason: the lack of creative thinkers. |
go to settings, then data usage, then click menu and check restrict background data. You should also consider using Airtel BIS. it is the cheapest and most reliable for maximizing data usage on Android. |
Since Nigerians are very used to servitude and a restrictive lifestyle, so how do you expect even the random best of them see the scenario as wrong? We've had a long history of the church and the government telling us what and what not to do, how and how not we should live our lives. We're like that proverbial donkey tied to a plastic chair. I wonder if Jesus is exactly being glorified when a second year student kneels down in 2013; in a university founded in His name. I am grateful I didn't attend such freakish higher institutions. Strike or no strike, it sure feels good to know the sweet taste of freedom as a university undergraduate! |
Akure too since early this morning, up till the moment of posting this. The End is near! |
Hello everybody. Please I'm about downloading the SENSEWICH custom rom. Does the file size of 422mb (or is there a smaller sized version of it?) contain all the gapps and other useful apps? please I need answers ASAP. thanks |
It's funny how a multi-use ID card produced by a local company becomes a tool for the internationalization of a university. How exactly has that enhanced research or boost the knowledge and the quality of life of humanity that an ideal university is meant for? Nigerian universities would not cease to amuse me. I'm sorry Mr VC, I did not share your views on this one. Anyway, there has been news on local malaria drug discovery coming from this institution, I think they should focus more on that. http://www.unilorin.edu.ng/index.php/en/237-unilorinnews/1920-unilorin-discovers-new-anti-malaria-compounds |
oh God, please please and please, don't let this story make Reddit FrontPage. I really am going to feel embarrassed by the comments civilized people would make over this embarrassing piece of junk, especially coming from a Nigerian. He really shouldn't have publicised his mediocrity on the internet. Chukwuemeka007: When d whites conceptualized nd taught abt d theory of evolution nd nt creation, it was accepted nd even introduced in our sec school biology scheme. Wasn't it nonsense to u when ur biology teacher taught u? @ OP. Jst because it was foolishly postulated by a white, we all swallowed it hook, line nd sinker. It is known both in real-life nd every sphere of science dat like-poles repel each other nd unlike-poles attract. This same law must also hold in human marriage. If homosexuality is normal, y didn't God create an exact copy of Adam for a wife nd helper? Hav u seen a homosexual animal? What he did was jst to prove a point by using d theory of like pairs/poles repell nd unlike-pairs/pole attract. And for you to think that the evolution theory is as intellectually illogical as this junk means you probably don't belong to this century, you and the guy. If you want to prove a point to intellectuals, you do it in conventional, mainstream ways, not some theorems even the worst scientist to have ever lived in the medieval times couldn't have propounded. And to think that he's actually expecting a Nobel prize.... |
Are you into vertical gardening? or you just read the post and felt impressed. |
As an indigene, I'll say that perhaps since the time of Adefarati, Ondo state has not been blessed with good, self-sacrificial leaders. The political atmosphere is full of deceit, back stab and slander. I know Agagu's legacies as solar boreholes that have overgrown with weeds now (at least the ones I've seen lately) and some 'plastic' primary school buildings that he claimed would be cooler in daytime. I'll have to commend him in the area of agriculture anyway, but overall, I wouldn't still say he was the greatest governor Ondo state has produced. During his second tenure, forensic evidences from the court revealed that Mike Tyson, Joseph Ayo Babalola among other calendar figures voted in the election. I heard palm kernel thumbprints were discovered too. Well, he's history now, just like many others before him. At least, that should teach the present-day politicians in their self-made fortresses of their non-invincibility. Memento Mori is the latin word for remember you will die! We need to carve this words at the gates of every government house all over the federation. |
Don't think you're the only Nigerian who is into classical music around here. I still listened to that yesterday. I have a great collection of various classical music on my laptop. |
Dear sir, I would like to thank you warmly for this mature move! You are not clueless as people say afterall! May I humbly suggest the CBN governor for proposing the wicked #5000 note (we've not forgotten anyway!) If you can also push it harder, Senator Yerima and his team should also be extended this courtesy. We cannot afford corporate blunders and inactions in this age again. It's 2013 already! I do hope you were diplomatic in your letters anyway, "Dear Sir/Madam, we'd like for you to honorably step down as your kind services are no longer required again. Go home and have a nice day!" |
I have to agree that the legacies of Apple truly died with Steve Jobs. From all I could gather, the RAM of these recent smartphones do not reflect the modernity of recent gadgets of its class. Perhaps, the only innovation would be the fingerprint technology, which it's vulnerabilities might just be exposed soon enough. I can't believe such (I could have used the word "exquisite ") technology came in plastic! I fear Apple is going the Blackberry way. We should rather look to the newly named Android as the next big thing in mobile technology. |
if this is true then, we have a clear-cut case of religious impunity in the hands of the church! What did Jesus say about rendering to Caesar what belongs to Caesar? |
Aquaculture expert here. The issue of inbreeding should not be underestimated here. First of all, most of the breeders embark on the dubious practice of using fishes less than a year for their broodstock, that have not been carefully selected for egg quality, agility and disease resistance. Inbreed fishes have their genetic characteristics deteriorated, Such that is practiced by using the same fish over and over again, much properly, the offspring of the same fish. The growth potential of such fish will actually reduce down the offspring. As a fish farmer, you should never compromise on the quality and source of your fingerlings because they determine the profitability of your business in the long run. If you cannot get from a reputable hatchery, better you do it yourself. Make sure you don't get your broodstocks from the same place. Do try to get fishes older than 1 year at any cost. They may be expensive, But it is worth it. Also, watch what you give your fishes. Are you formulating your feeds because you're trying to save costs when you're actually compromising on the protein value? Expensive "imported" feeds might actually be better for you, though expensive, But considering the fact that you're presently raising fishes with less growth, hence less market value, you may be doing your economics wrong sir. My little 2 cents, feel free to ask your questions. Thanks! |
Shine It: The biggest doublespeak in history.why must you be using every media to propagate your message of hatred and tribalism?? you're not a 21st century person if you still think this way. If I may ask you, Einstein, how exactly does Dangote sitting his refinery in a Yoruba oil-producing state correspond to a bad time being a Yoruba person? Because I don't think you made a valid point there! |
For those advocating the interests of the poor people of Lagos, I'd like you to take a moment to read this article: http://www.theatlanticcities.com/jobs-and-economy/2013/08/how-poverty-taxes-brain/6716/ We ought to know that poverty should not be encouraged at any front for it's damaging effect on the populace. If you've been following the news, you will find out that the Lagos we're all happy about is actually ranked one of the worst cities to live in. I think if a visionary governor is doing his best to redeem that image, then he sure deserve kudos. In my own opinion, Mr Fashola ought to be elected the Mayor of Lagos. I believe Lagosians are resilient and inventive people. This would not affect them much, the economics of "suffering and smiling" by opting for a Molue bus is not often advantageous in the long run, considering the inconveniences, germs (diseases), risks (jumping on/off on motion, loosing a valuable) and general body/clothing harm. Besides those old buses look like metallic dinosaurs already; so it's high time they. were rested. Hope they keep at least in a museum for the viewing pleasure of future generation. |
Nigeria and strange occurrences everyday! I hope he remembers to write the Federal Government too, to provide good road infrastructures everywhere in the country, because I believe it is safer to ride a Volkswagen beetle old edition on a good road than an Hummer Jeep on a bad one! |
Up till now, I have not taken ACN seriously, but I have just seen the bigger picture today. I honestly now believe that the party is really progressive minded, and it's exactly what we need in the Nigeria of today! I must say Ondo state may have made a grave mistake by not jumping ship, especially based on the recent turnout of events. Imagine Ekiti laying fibre optic cables, the revolutionary O' ideals of Osun state, don't even lets talk about Lagos and so on … I can now see that it is not about the people, but the party! |
Hi Chairmen and gurus. Having installed Mimicry on my G2, it was slow and often hangs alot. Games lag and screen freezes up several times. I had to migrate to Slim Bean, but the same thing. What do I need to tweak to get the OS running smoothly? Thanks. |
