Atheists: God needs to be proven through the scientific method. Any observations of God must be testable, repeatable, and falsifiable. Christians for example claim that their God interects with them, guides them and answers their prayers, if that is true then there should be evidence to show for example that christians that pray to their God for healing recover faster than non christians who don't pray, but no suvh evidence exist. . .

Theists: Make a long wall of text consisting of:

1) Start with a "problem" for atheists (ig, "morality without God is just personal opinion", "science doesn't explain everything", "the theory of evolution leads to genocide". Life is useless without God. . . .God is love and we are his special creation. . .

2) Follow up with "atheists, OPEN your hearts!"

3) Statement of faith/theology, followed by massive amount of bible verses. . . .

4) After going on for five or six pages of bible verses, expect your audience to be swept away by the words of God. .(words of men in reality since everything about the bible was written by men. . .In fact the book was put together through a vote by the roman catholic church)

5) If they aren't, then they have closed their hearts, and will know God only after death, when it's too late.(those of us that were raised and indoctrinated in the christain bubble of delusion will be with Jesus while those that weren't or where indoctrinated with other religious beliefs will suffer in hell for all eternity )

Meanwhile, we're left wondering if we should list the strawmen and faulty logic, or if it's not worth responding to someone so far off the deep end.

In the case, I narrated above, i witnessed not only the blinking lights in the far distance, but it dissapeared and reappeared in the opposite side. Weo felt the cold chill and the sense of forboding when it went past us. Even the night creatures all went silent. No human can pull that kind of trick.It was not a one time or isolated incident.The oracle was brought to our village over a hundred yrs ago from Ikot Epkene in Akwa Ibom. The preisthood run from certain families only. The priest is a normal man but he is sworn to live a modest virtous life. There are no financial gains for him. the juju is only used as a last resort whenever all other efforts to settle disputes are exhausted.

Let me give you another gist that i just remembered: My grandmother had misplaced a large sum of money and she thought it had been stolen. She cried and pleaded for whoever had taken the money to return it,but got no response.So she ran to the juju priest to invoke the oracle. she paid taken fee of chicken to be sacrificed. after about a month her body began to swell. she went to the doctors but they could not find out what was wrong with her. her liver seemed fine after some tests, but her body kept swelling. It took her a while to realise what must have been happening,she quickly went to the priest who confirmed that the oracle had attacked her because it seemed that no one had taken her money. she went back home, did a thorough search and found her money. naturally she had to bring more chicken to appease the oracle and that is how she got her health back. she is still alive in her nineties.

As an atheist, what I really found hard to understand was how an all powerful supreme God would create a world like this with all the evil, injustice and lack of order in it. So the problem of the atheist is not really that God did not create, the real problem is that God did not do a good work; that his best wasn't good enough. I mean, if God is so powerful then why didn't God create a perfect world?
But think about it, what if this is the best that God can do? Maybe God is not actually omnipotent as exaggerated? If that be the case, are we then supposed to abandon God rather than accepting that this life and everything we see in it is the best that God can offer? Seeing then how we can work together with God to make things better?

Religion to me is nothing but a bunch of groups trying to make sense of God; trying to understand God's nature, what it wants and how it works, well some religion may have done a good job in doing that and some still far behind, who really knows?

Notice that I always try to show my uncertainty in everything I say. I never claim to have answers cos am still on this journey of discovery. My position is not really that there is a God with certainty, my point is that, there has to be a God and all am doing is trying to make sense of that God. 'Maybe someday when I 'find' God, I will bring him/her/it here on NL for a proper introduction and interview.

Interesting, I have given up on the God idea because its something you just can never know IMO. . .Is there a creator or are there creators of the universe? Its very possible, how can a person know? Yes. Historically, anything we do not understand falls within the realm of the supernatural. For example, we read as a supernatural event that prophet Elijah was carried to heaven on a chariot of fire, right? but just suppose that chariot of fire was actually an aircraft of some sort piloted by technologically advanced beings? for the primitive people of that era,the best name to give such a craft would be a chariot of fire. Not so?
The bottom line is that we know soooooo little of all the laws that govern our universe.

back to my experiences: We had this oracle or juju in my village that was used to settle disputes and maintain peace. This oracle was highly feared. It had a shrine and a priest that performed chicken sacrifices every particular market day. It was said that the oracle had killed many thieves who had failed to return whatever they had stolen after being warned to do so. There is no way to verify wehter these people died from other natural causes or the juju, so i'm a bit sceptical about those claims in the absence of evidence.
However,at midnight on certain market days, the oracle travels from one of its shrine to another one in forest , following  apraticular path that cut through our family house. on at least three occassions, i had witnessed this passage.
one particular night, A group of friends and I were gisting outside our compound long into the night. All of a sudden, we all felt a cold chill,all the night insects, crickets, toads etc, all went silent, we look ahead and we saw a blinking light from the disctance slowly approaching. we were so terrified that we could not even run. we just sat there silent because we know from legend that it hated noise. all of a sudden the blinking light went off, a cold breeze blew past in our direction and then the blinking light now came back , but now away from us in th opposite direction towards the forest.It had wlked past us . I had this encounter in at least two more occasions and many other people had witnessed similiar encounters.

Also, i heard that a certain woman(distant aunt) went to the farm several miles from my village, night befell her and she became disoriented and got  lost. she spent several ours up to midnight trying to find her way but ended up going furth and futrther away from the village. Finally she started crying  and shouted the name of this oracle to save her. according to her, a blinking light appeared in front of her, stood there for a while and then started moving away. she followed it until she reached our village and reunited with her  desperately worried family. That was her tale. she is still alive. Interestingly, she was a strong christian at the time. If she had called on the name of jehova or jesus, the whole country would have heard of her great miracle.

The question is where were all these juju when the white people came around destroying the evil forest, taking many of the juju Gods to europe and dumping them in their museums ?. . . .We always hear about these fantastic stories ONLY in Africa and other under developed worlds. . .Where were the juju's when the white people were using ancient guns to conquered our lands and enslave our people?. . .Where were the juju Gods when the white men brought their religion and forced it upon our ancestors who knew NOTHING but juju?. . .If juju is real the white people would have been worshiping the juju Gods and speaking our languages. . . .

Here is what I got from another site about the claims of the Noah's flood that was "found" in Turkey. . . .

This Hong Kong group claims they are 99.9 % sure that the wood they found belongs to the Ark of Noah.  Since we have spent a few thousand hours digging into the subject of the Noah’s Flood and the Ark, we have the following questions about the alleged discovery:

1. When archaeologists make a discovery they must be able to prove exactly where they took their specimen out of the ground.  How do we know this video showing the rooms was filmed where they said it was?

2. It is claimed that this discovery was found in an ice and rock cave on Agri Dagh, also known as Mt. Ararat.  It is a known fact among geologists that nearly all of the icecap on this mountain consists of moving ice, that is, glacier.  A glacier is a river of ice which flows down the mountain.  Any wooden structure inside this ice would be ground to bits from the glacial action.  In their news releases they have reported this site to be at 13,000 feet and in another report at around 14,000.  With these altitudes it would have to be on the ice cap or at the very edge.

3.  Most geologists believe this mountain was formed in relatively recent times, i.e., after the Flood.  It is a complex volcano with no clearly discernible layers of sedimentation that would have been laid down by flood waters.

4.  The group claims they have had the wood carbon dated by a lab in Iran with the results being almost 5000 years old (with the Flood occurring about 3000 B.C.).  Why did they have the wood tested in Iran, we ask?   Will other scientists have access to the lab results?  Are there any good labs in Iran that can do this kind of testing?  Or, was the wood tested in Iran because the lab results might be harder to trace by other scientists?  Why wasn’t a lab in the United States or the United Kingdom used?  Just asking!

5.  Is this wood coated with pitch (bitumen)?  The Bible says God instructedNoah to treat the wood with pitch, either asphalt or pine pitch (Gen. 6:14).  At least some of this wood should test positive for this coating.  Also, has a botanist examined the wood to determine what kind of wood it is?

6.  What about motives?  Only God knows their true motives, but it sure makes one nervous when these groups looking for the Ark are planning a documentary video so early in the project before any truth claims are established.  One of the members of this Chinese group just happens to be a filmmaker.  Most readers interested in this subject probably notice that about once a year a new docudrama about Noah’s Ark appears on one of the cable channels.  They would not keep doing this if they didn’t make money.  Hopefully, this group’s motives are other than financial.

7.  What are the plans to publish this material in scientific peer-reviewed archaeological and geological publications?  We would have hoped that this would have been primary to a news conference and videos.  True archaeological is not forwarded by this sequence, but we certainly understand their excitement and the desire to be the first to report such a discovery.

In addition to the above questions, we have some reasons to question the integrity of this discovery for the following reasons:

1.  This group had a local guide who is a known for his deceit and fraud. It is this guide who initially informed the Chinese group that he knew the location of the Ark in 2008.  However, since then he has led them to more than one location.  The first location was a cave at a low altitude, a small cave with a tree growing in front!  Apparently the current cave is at the 13,000 or 14,000 foot level on the icecap.

2.  The specimens taken from this first cave (at the lower altitude) were claimed to be petrified wood from the Ark. In actuality, they were nothing than volcanic tuff.

3. In one of the photos of the rooms, straw is seen on the floor and even a spider web in one of the corners.  Really!  Do spiders live at 13,000 or 14,000 feet?  Can they survive the freezing temperatures?

4. There is a real problem with evangelists (which is what they claim to be) who use this kind of discovery to prove the Bible, and hence convince non-believers of its authority, when in fact the truthfulness of the discovery had not been established.  I [Bill Crouse] know firsthand of one “Indiana Jones” who spoke eloquently and emotionally about his adventures, and when he gave an invitation at the end of his presentation, many in the audience stood up to commit their lives to Christ.  When the speaker was confronted about the truthfulness of some of the stories he told that night, he replied:  “But look how many stood up to receive Christ.”  This becomes very problematic when at some point the convert learns the real truth.  They often become very embittered about all things Christian, and understandably so.

5.  There seems to be more than the usual gullibility here in that the Hong Kong group was warned about this local guide who has led others astray.  We say usual gullibility, because it seems to be a characteristic of some ark-hunters as well, in that they tend to uncritically accept all the local lore.  While many of these ark-hunters mean well, it seems that they want to believe every report seemingly at all costs; putting everything through a rational grid often is avoided as being too skeptical.

At this point we are skeptical of these new claims but would rejoice in the end if they proved to be true.  If this someday is the case, we will be the first to apologize for our doubts. We would strongly urge the Hong Kong group to follow proper scholarly procedures and publish this material in scientific, peer-reviewed archaeological and geological publications so that the scholarly community can examine the material first hand and critique it in order to offer helpful, and constructive, criticism.  For the person in the pew, we caution you to not get too excited about something that is at best, unsubstantiated; and at worst, a fraud perpetrated by an enterprising local guide!

Even Answers in genesis(AiG) has expressed concerns that creationist scientists are not being invited to see the evidence. No peer review allowed smacks of fraud. . . . . .

I notice dat most atheists and agnostics(my blood broda inclusiv) dont believe in God because God didnt handle matters in d way dey expected. In effect your disapointment led to disillusionment then to disbelief.
But it doesnt change d fact dat u need a large dose of faith to believe in evolution, if not u guys would hav answered d questions about d origin of life satisfactorily.

Stop talking about what you don't know. . .Your story remains a lie, unless you can provide any evidence for your story your story remains a lie. . .Your evidence to show that people become atheist because things do not work out for them is what?  . . . .I  achieved everything in my life and made all my millions as an atheist so what exactly are you talking about?. . . .By the way am an atheist and I don't believe in evolution. . .There are more theist that believe in evolution than atheist in the west. . . .
